Service great. Atmosphere great. Food was ok. We enjoyed the simple pasta, the bruschetta, the tortellini, and the drinks. The pasta with tuna was too fishy for us. The salmon pasta had a nice smoky taste but pretty creamy rich. I loved the spaghetti with tomatoes. The limoncello was good but not as cold as I like. Well located to our hotel and good vibes. They have a wine bar below. They have bread when you sit down - and ask for the oil and balsamic because it needs some flavor.

Staying very close to this Pizzaria and found it on Yelp so let's dive in! Scooter ride here with epic parking right next to my table! Had the best plate of simple red sauce pasta I've ever had and of course a bottle of 2020 Chianti. Slow dined on my pasta and then ordered up a really great Pizza MargaritaTrying to finish an amazing Tiramisu but might not make it

Pleasant and well priced meal at the end of the week. Very friendly wait staff. Excellent food. Short walk from my hotel

    The Florence steak!

We'd heard about the steak that was the region's speciality....plus we wanted a break from pasta. The steak was excellent. Service was good and servers were friendly and helpful. The min size steak is 1kg so be careful about appetizers. We only added one side (house baked potato) that was over the top good.

My husband and I came here this evening, purely on the fact that it looked pleasant and had pizza (our teenage kids were back in the hotel sleeping because of jet lag, so we thought bringing them pizza was a good idea). This place was wonderful. The moment we walked in the service was friendly, warm, and easy-going. No hustle and bustle and it wasn't overly touristy. In fact, I noticed half the groups dining in were speaking Italian. The restaurant staff spoke perfect English, BTW. The menu options were fun. Lots of choices broken down by appetizer, first course, etc. My husband and I got the fried polenta squares with chicken liver and mushrooms. We are not big pate lovers, but the chicken liver was really good and we are glad we ordered it. (The mushroom one was also very good!) We split a pizza (prosciutto ala fungi) and pasta (salmon and lemon tagliolini.) Both were very good and the presentation was especially well done. I totally recommend the tiramisu for dessert. It is SO good! I rarely write reviews but wanted to take a moment and share my thoughts about this excellent gem of a restaurant. Thank you.

Enchanting, beautiful and unique wine cellar for private dining events!

With a line out the door, a private event happening and the restaurant bustling with people the owner was very accommodating and welcoming and squeezed us in for a very enjoyable meal with both amazing food and service. Definitely make a point of dining here when in Florence. The private dinning wine cellar has an amazing unique ambiance and it is walking distance to the train station and Santa Maria Novella!

Not many places actually have yelp reviews, but this one had so many with great feedback. The food looked amazing. When we arrived we thought they were closed, but that is because they moved to a bigger restaurant a few doors down. When we arrived at the front, the gentleman asked if we had reservations, which we didn't. He directed us to the line with no reservations. The line was a bit long, but doubled in size almost immediately. It also started pouring rain during this time and we were ALL getting drenched even with an umbrella. The non reservation line was not really moving unless people left the line. We waited a good hour. As we inched closer and closer, the lines were now both outrageous and getting seated seemed like a distant memory. The staff came out and gave out Sangria and Bread bites to help those in line feel welcome. We did finally get seated and we were so glad we waited, it was worth it! We ordered the Spaghetti Carbonara, the lobster spaghettini and the chicken breast with roasted potatoes. We also ordered sangria. Everything was so good and our total was 83 €. Prices were unbelievable! We were amazed at the quality, the service and how large the restaurant they relocated to was. It was like a well oiled machine. The food coming out quickly and efficiently. I will 100% be back if I return to Florence!

It's close enough to the lively, bustling part of Firenze to feel connected, yet just far enough to escape the city's never-ending wave of tourists. The service was incredible, and the owner (I'm pretty sure it was the owner?) brought so much energy that he single-handedly turned the whole place into an eclectic little spot during the "rush hour" of the evening. The menu was solid, if a bit "generic" at times. While everything we ordered was delicious, nothing at Trattoria Giovanni felt like a dish you couldn't find elsewhere... and honestly, that's perfectly fine! It was traditional, comforting, and exactly what we were craving. The plate of cured meats and cheese was phenomenal, a great start to the meal. The pastas were really good as well, though one of the meat dishes had a slightly off texture, with the chunks of meat a bit overcooked. All in all, we loved our meal and would definitely recommend this spot if you're in Florence.

The owner and staff were fantastic, very knowledgeable and provided great recommendations. The wine bar itself is a small quaint little place. Probably seats about 12 to 15 people total and has plenty of windows so you can see passersby and people watch. The cheeseboard? Get the cheeseboard. They do a fantastic job of pairing everything together to really bring so many flavors to your tastebuds. Their house wine is phenomenal and they take great pride in finding the grapes/different varietals to make it come to life. They have a both a red and a white house wine option. The second time we went - and yes, we went more than once in the four days we were there - we enjoyed one of the sandwiches and it was absolutely amazing. The bread, I can't even explain, the bread it's so flavorful and so good and so light. That paired with the delicious meats and cheeses were 100% worth it. I definitely recommend this location to anybody who is visiting Florence regularly or for their first time.
