One man show. Long wait times. Not worth it. Go to a doctor who has multiple staff members to assist

I've been coming here for my yearly eye checkups since 2016. I love Dr. Tran. He is very personable and always remembers me when I visit. He is also very knowledgeable and I trust him fully with my eye health. I highly recommend him. *COVID-19: During this pandemic, all of the employees and patients are required to wear a mask upon entry. Additionally, there is hand sanitizer at the front desk and social distancing stickers have been placed on the floor for safety. I felt safe while I was there for my appointment.* I highly recommend! read more

I always look forward to my visit to keep my eyes healthy. Dr. Tran is a fantastic doctor and he specializes in eye disease and vision disorders. He and his staff really makes you feel safe with the epidemic situation right now. They schedule the appointments where you're not waiting with a lot of people in the lobby area. They have a nice selection of frames. His location in Carrollton has plenty of parking. I would definitely recommend him to others! read more

Transvision Eyecare - Entrance Facing Midway Intersection - Optometrists Near Me - Dallas, Texas

Really disappointed since the reviews on here led me to try them out. The doctor seemed to just assume my prescription from my eye images. Which is all well and fine. But then when I did the test of what's better, A or B, I told him neither were good. He didn't try any other prescriptions. He just went on a schpeal about how it's subjective and patients always think stronger is better. So he actually reduced my prescription. I get my glasses and can't see a damn thing. I have to do a follow up. He tests me and I can finally see a bit better in the tests. He starts going on a schpeal again about how patients always want stronger and he'll just give me what I want. Listen, I don't have an agenda. I just want to be able to see. He told me a story about how his friend has cancer and I think he was trying to make me feel better about eye health or something. He said at least it's just your eyes. Listen, I use my glasses every day. This is effing important. He handed me a prescription, and as we were talking, he took it back and rewrote it. During this visit he kept asking what I wanted to do. Like I don't know. I'm not an optometrist. Overall he was making decisions quickly that didn't make sense to me and weren't backed by tests. When I came in again he treated me like I was trying to get my way on something when I literally just wanted a correct prescription. I can't explain how frustrated I am. I've never experienced this. I know have 2 bad prescriptions, meaning I replaced my lenses twice. I now have to pay for all new lenses and find another doctor. DON'T EFFING GO HERE. read more

Dr Tran is very professional with his job and he really explains every detail for his patient to understand! He's so passionate about his job am glad he's helped me with my eyes problems and all is well. His staff is second to none very amazing ladies and courteous read more

I know what you're thinking.....you're skeptical about a five-star review for a doctor. I've been in your shoes many times so I have been reluctant to share this one. However, as a bespectacled fellow for most of my life, I have had a multitude of optomistrists but Dr. Tran and his staff at Transvision was as personable and professional as they come. Dr. Tran really knows how to make a visit pleasant. Although his manner is very casual and conversational, he does a great job and getting right to the task at hand. Additionally, he doesn't spend a lot of time trying to give you unnecessary exams or upselling his services. He is a straight-shooter regrading the results and his recommendations, allowing you to be an adult and make choices that work best for you. They have a wide selection of glasses, most of which will be covered under your vision insurance. The glasses were ready on time and Dr. Tran's wife/office manager was patient in getting them tweaked to my crooked face. (On a side note that does not affect this review, she is an amazingly beautiful woman. Way to go, Dr Tran!) Based on my observation Transvision welcome customers from all communities (I believe they have speakers of several languages on staff). Getting your eyes checked is a pain but Transvision really makes it easy. read more

I've been a patient of Dr Tran for nearly 10 years. He and his staff have provided 5 star service throughout that time. I can count on Transvision for a thorough exam using the most current equipment and technology. I highly recommend them for all your eye health needs! read more

I had an eye emergency and Dr.Tran and his office team got me in within the hour and we're so helpful. They are a blessing!

I tried Transvision Eyecare about two years ago when the DMV told me I didn't pass the eye test. So much for my Lasik surgery! Apparently I have had some "regression" but that's a whole other Yelp review. Sure enough, Dr. Tran told me that my eyes were in bad shape from years of contacts, sun exposure and from the Lasik surgery. He even showed me a side-by-side of my unhealthy cornea and his healthy cornea, thanks a lot Dr. Tran. He confirmed that I could benefit from a light prescription, especially when driving at night. The glasses were a little too pricey for me (with no insurance for vision coverage) at Transvision, so I got my eyeglasses elsewhere. Transvision's office is beautiful, it's conveniently located, and the staff is the some of the most friendly and helpful that I've ever seen in a medical office. I recently went back for another exam, to check my prescription before replacing my lost glasses and had another great experience. This time Dr. Tran taught me that eye exams can indicate many different illnesses, and showed me the pictures to prove it. Dr. Tran has saved lives with eye exams! Good stuff. read more

Dr. Tran is freakin' awesome! He communicates very well. If anything, hes too informative! He makes sure you understand what he is talking about with regard to your eyes and frequently asks if you have questions. The office is clean and the staff is so friendly. He is now my official eye doctor. read more

Dr Tran is the best - i've been seeing him for the past 7 years. TransVision is right by my work so i just walked in based on the convenience of the location. I went in with an eye ulcer from my bad contact habits - with his advice and explanation on how to keep my eyes healthy my vision has not changed since my first visit back in 2008! He and his staff provide a great level of care and always show appreciation for being a loyal patient. read more

Dr. Tran -- hands down professional, thorough, friendly, & very informative! I've now lived in Dallas for 7 years. My very first optometry experience here was horrific!! I found Dr. Tran through co-workers and he saved the day (& years to follow!) -- his office in Dallas is very clean, friendly, and inviting. His wife & staff are courteous and helpful. Dr. Tran has all the most up to date equipment and resources to make your exam top-notch, not to mention he's very thorough and details everything in regard to your eye health. Definitely a true professional and is passionate about eye health. Definitely recommend! Dr. Tran won't disappoint! read more

I made an appointment at Dr. Tran's office because my usual optometrist was booked two months out and I was running out of contacts. I couldn't be happier with the level of care provided by Dr. Tran and his office staff. From making the appointment to paying and scheduling a follow up the ladies at the front office were professional and very sweet. The cost for a contact lens fitting with optomap was lower than at my previous optometrist as well. Dr. Tran addressed all of my concerns and had me fitted in a pair of contacts with minimal work on my end (almost no "what's better, one or two, two or three?"). By the time I left I knew more about my eye health than I ever have before. He truly treated me like family. Thank you so much TransVision for the wonderful care you provided. read more

I really love this office! It's clean, modern, and inviting. Dr. Tran truly cares about his patients and takes his time to give a very thorough exam. He encourages questions and explains everything that happening. Overall, it's been one of my best optometry experiences. read more

Dr Tran is amazing. Office is busy but the quality makes up for the wait. Makes eyes fun.

Best optometrist I've ever had. You get your prescription, no questions asked, with PPD so you can buy your glasses anywhere else (I've done online because it beats my vision plan's discounts). There is absolutely no pressure to buy something from the office. Dr. Tran is honest. I asked him about Lasik and he said that if I was his sister, he'd recommend that I do _not_ get it. He said while they would make a good amount from the procedure, I wouldn't be happy with the results. I'll be hitting them up later this week to have them adjust some glasses I bought elsewhere. I called and they said they'd do it, no fee. His staff is fantastic: the lab messed up my sunglasses twice and the office staff negotiated the lab to not charge for any of the lenses treatments. I recommend him to everyone in my office. read more

I'm so impressed by Dr. Tran. I've seen him twice now for eye exams, and he is so kind and caring towards his patents. He's passionate about his work, and explains all the eye testing in detail, even showing images of your own eye to you in the process. I've never had a more comprehensive eye exam than the ones I've had with Dr. Tran. He is an incredible doctor! He now also has a location in Frisco. I've been to both the Midway Rd office and the Frisco office. Both are easy to find and the office staff are incredibly kind and professional. read more

Dr. Tran and his team are an amazing group of people. Absolutely loved my visit! He is so passionate, thankful, and humble. If you are being seen by anyone else you are missing out! Dr. Tran was very fast, explained in great detail what my eyes are doing, and such an inspiring character. I won't be going anywhere else! Thank you transvision for being so great! read more

Love Dr. Tran. Very professional, friendly and informative! Not many Dr's like him. He's my new eye doctor, for life. :)

I needed to get my old lenses fitted for new frames. Not having very much money, I opted to find a suitable frame outside of TransVision. Even though this process still cost me $100.00, paid in cash, my service went downhill from there. I was told the glasses would be ready in five days. On the fifth day, after driving there, I was told that they were not ready and that I would receive a call when they were on or before Friday. On Friday, I called in myself after receiving no call, and was informed that I would have to wait until Monday. Finally, on Monday I picked up my glasses. They didn't fit correctly. I went back to have them adjusted. I was helped graciously by one of the desk attendants, and was told to come back if I felt they needed to be adjusted again. The next day I went in again after realizing while driving that they were still crooked. Kim was asked to assist me. She didn't seem interested in helping, and made comments like "our tools aren't designed to be used on these frames" and "your lenses are way too small for you" and "because of how cheap these frames are I don't want to adjust these" and "There's nothing else I can do" After putting on the frames and having one lens touch my eyebrow and one hang lower than it, I asked her how they looked, knowing that it was crooked. She looked me in the face and said "They're not that bad". I felt like a second-rate customer and took my crooked $100.00 glasses and left. Not going back. read more

Exams are way over priced! They quoted me $170 for exam for contacts which is outrageous. I went somewhere else and they only charged me $90 for the exact same services. It's a good idea to shop around for the best prices read more

As far as choosing an optometrist goes, you're really left to yourself to find a good one. Most get the job done, but few are as knowledgeable, attentive, and helpful as Dr. Huey Tran. I chose to go to him on a whim, and happily remain a patient to this day. Highly recommended. read more

Awesome First experience! The office is upscale, and the staff is knowledgeable & friendly. Dr.Tran is a rockstar he educates and spent time with me. We came up with a plan for my vision needs. That was a First! And I've been wearing contacts for 18 years! read more

Dr. Tran is SO! NICE! & passionate about what he does. I love seeing professionals light up when they begin to discuss their craft, & get allll into it, like you know what the heck they're talking about (but he explained it on my level)! That's him! Scheduling & my appointment were timely. Wait time was brief. I didn't feel rushed, once I got in there. Close to home. NOTHING bad to say about my experience. read more

clean office.. quick turn around time once you've been seen.. and a front desk that's pretty helpful.. i opted not to get the retinal scan but this is something he does offer if you want it... just know that your vision insurance will likely not cover it.. read more

Dr Tran is pretty cool. He is definitely a doctor who wants to know about his patients and actually Cares! I recommend him to my family and friends. One friend when trying to schedule an appointment said the front desk staff were very rude. I haven't experienced that myself but I guess anyone could be having a bad day. They also have a lot of technology and Dr Tran explains everything to you in layman terms and in depth. Don't think your walking out of his office with a puzzled look or unanswered questions. I didn't purchase my glasses from there so I'm not sure about their prices or selection. read more

I got a new job and my current eye doctor wasn't in network so I found Dr. Tran. He seems like a genuinely nice doctor who cares about the health of your eyes and taught me things about my eye that I didn't know. His mother went blind from Glaucoma and he focuses on your eye health and keeping it healthy. They gave me sample contacts to try out and see how I liked them and then he wanted to see me back the next week to dilate my eyes. I have never been charged for a contact fitting before, and I wasn't too happy about that. I've worn contacts for years. But they don't charge me for any follow up visits and they don't charge to get more sample contacts. I felt like they made effort to work with you and to keep their customers and I will probably go back and stay with Dr Tran read more

If you are looking for an eye doctor, I strongly recommend Dr. Tran at TransVision Eye Care.

I have been going to the eye doctor ever since I was 6 years old because of being very near-sighted. However, every time I went to see the eye doctors for my yearly exam, most of them just gave me a new prescription for my eyeglasses. They never care about the overall health of my eyes until I went to see Dr. Tran at TransVision Eye Care. Using the latest technology, Dr. Tran was able to diagnose me for glaucoma. Dr. Tran explains to me that glaucoma is a silent eye disease that can take away my peripheral vision if not treated. Most patients don't know that have glaucoma which is highly treatable but has to be diagnosed early. I was not happy to have glaucoma at a young age. However, Dr. Tran was able to diagnose and treat my glaucoma early to prevent me from going blind. Thanks Dr. Tran. KH Dallas. read more

Do your self and your family a favor and trust your eye health with Dr. Tran and his lovely staff. You can always expect a warm and sincere greeting from beginning to end. Been going to him for 3 years. Very nice but - all the while I had macular degeneration. Dr. Tran may or may not have recognized the problem. Told me I had floaters and cataract. It's macular degeneration, which might have been successfully managed if he acknowledged the condition first time I saw him. Definitely not going back. read more

Dr. Tran was great. They have all the latest technology, which means you don't spend an hour going better 1 better 2. He tells informs you about your eye health and shape. I'm even going to recommend him to my husband, who usually prefers ophthalmologists. This is the first time I've used an optometrist on an insurance plan. It was worth the hassle of finding out, which providers I could see. He takes VSP and medical insurance. He has great brands for frames and it was about the same price if not cheaper than going to Lenscrafters. The office is beautiful and has a one cup coffee maker that the staff helped me with. read more

Flat out - best eye doctor I've ever seen. Highly recommend for eye check, glasses, etc. big fan of Dr. Tran.
