Trang is awesome, not only is she super sweet, but she does a wonderful job. The lashes look feminine and natural. The placement is great, I've used other places in Newport where they use so much glue that it irritates my eyes and I leave with swollen burning lids. Hers are ACTUALLY applied to the lash (as they are supposed to be) not the skin. I've been going to Trang for sometime. The first couple of times were a 5 star experience. As time has gone on my lashes don't last as long and I feel that even the quality of the lashes may have gone down. DONT GO HERE!!!!!!!!! Where do I start on Trangs unprofessional sneaky ass and if I could I would give her a 0 rating!!!!!One day I decided to look on yelp and find a eyelash extension specialist in my area and found Trang. I really liked her work so I decided to make a appointment for the following week. Everything went good and I was making appointments every 2 weeks with her until I had a emergency at work and needed to cancel which I gave her a few hours notice. I felt terrible!!!! I hate to cancel my appointments and felt really bad.... I was able to reschedule and everything was ok. A few weeks later I had another work emergency and had to cancel I made sure to let Trang know a few hours in advance that I wouldn't be able to make it and that I was very very sorry. I sent her so many texts, emails and called her cell phone to apologize and she never got back to me and she took $80 without refunding it back. She makes you pay up front and not when the job is done. No where on her website does it say if you cancel your appts you wont receive your money back or non refundable. Its not about the money but what did I do to her or make her so mad that she just ignored me for no reason. I see off of other peoples reviews that she likes to cancel so I don't understand. I have been wanting to get eyelash extensions for a while but I was very very picky. I found Trang through yelp a couple months ago and was drawn to the excellent reviews from all the asian girls since our lashes are "uncooperative". Lemme tell you, I could not stop looking at my eyes after our first session!! They look so natural and lush that I no longer wear any eye make-up which hasn't happened since UM...elementary school? Kind of a big deal mmmk. The lashes stayed put for about a month and a half for me. ( Eyelashes naturally fall off and will vary since everybody's a tad different yano? ) Trang is very professional and is so easy to gab with about anything. I've always wanted lash extensions but have been timid because I've seen some bad/horrible looking ones- I came to Trans because of her great reviews, but more importantly, the amazing before - after photos. I have very sparse and short lashes because I have a bad habit of pulling them out, but she made an AMAZING difference- even taking time to use different size lashes to accomodate to my stubby vs longer lashes- the end result was Fantastic. Wow, Trang really knows her stuff. I have never had any kind of lash extensions besides the row of lashes which I hate to wear because you feel like you have big butterflies on your face. Trang made me feel so comfortable and relaxed through the whole process. The time seemed to fly by. I was amazed at how much it changed my face. I never where any makeup and with these lashes it looked like I was ready for a night out on the town. (in a good way) I have a new boost of confidence when I go out. Wow! Trang is truly an artist! I went in for the first in early July two days before my wedding to try extensions for the first time and I was a little nervous about them lasting through the wedding, the 2 week Honeymoon, etc. I had also heard that upkeep was a constant pain and longevity of the lashes were only 2 weeks. SO NOT TRUE with Trang! The lashes she did for me look amazing!! I LOVE them! What can I say! Trang is the best I've ever had! I'm not a rookie to lash extensions. I've traveled everywhere and had possibly every yelp 5-star artist. I even had them done in China when I was on vacation. So when I say Trang's the best you can ever have, you can trust my words. I used to get them done in San Francisco with a very popular yelp artist for almost 2 years. I liked them before because I didn't know there's something better out there waiting for me. So even though they only lasted for about 2-3 weeks, I still drove one hour and pay the same amout of money to get them done. But slowly I've noticed that she was slacking off a bit and the quality of work was not consistent everytime. Then I found Trang! Her price is the same as my previous artist, the only difference is that Trang takes her sweet ass time and my lashes are so much fuller and last as long as two months. I can honestly say that I can stop looking for a better lash extension artist because I've got the best right here! Although she operates from her own home, it doesn't bother me, it feels more personal like we are actually friends, not artist-client. I've only had eyelashes extensions once before and that was around 5 years ago. I have a really hard time relaxing and sitting still for long periods of time. I found Trang on Yelp under a review of her when she worked with Le Jolie Salon. I compared her with hundreds of places and she just kept coming up so I booked her. She is a one woman show so she's always busy. You will have to wait for an appointment but I think that's a testament to the quality of her work. She was professional, clean, knew everything about her profession and did my lashes quickly and pain free. The best part was that she put her iPod on during the time I was on the table...and somehow she had the perfect mix of relaxing but still cool songs that could actually appeal to everyone. I love that she is a college graduate and super smart, this gal has some serious business potential. My only discomforts were the fact that appointments are made only via text, and the address was sent at a later date...I found out upon arrival that the appointment was done at her home. I wish I could rate 4 or 5 stars for O.C trang but I can't. She might be a great eyelash specialist but she has no idea how to run her company. She has cancelled on me twice and 3x on one of my girlfriends although she still continues to see her - I on the other hand WILL NOT. I have made special plans , arrangements to book an appointment and then at the very last minute she will text ( never call?) saying " something" has come up and needs to cancel. I'm out time and money. The second time was when I drove up from San Diego and as I was about 10 min away, she cancels! I understand things happen but twice in one month! Not acceptable , not cool, not good business practice. . .. Plus, she never texted back as to when she would be available... It s like a headache to try to get her to contact you. I've been going to Trang for over a year now for lash extensions and I can't imagine going anywhere else. She has a pretty booked schedule, so plan ahead and make an appointment online! Here and there if I'm desperate, I'll go to someone else but it is NEVER the same and the lashes will either fall out really quickly or it looks like the lash artist barely put any extensions on and it's hardly noticeable! What's the point of extensions then..? Anyway, Trang is really personable and is always accommodating to my busy schedule. She's conveniently located near the 5 freeway and 405 freeway in Irvine. She has many different lash lengths/thickness and varies between the styles to create a look that you want. They are lash extensions placed on a single lash so you don't get any of the "clumpiness". She works quickly and efficiently so you're in/out within an hour to hour and half. No more. I teach/practice hot yoga and am in the heated environment 5-6 times a week and I have yet to find another place where my lashes will last for 3 weeks before I need a fill! If you're looking for lash extensions either for a special occasion or long-term, book an appointment with Trang. You're going to get hooked!! If you read my prior reviews, there is one for another lash studio I went to a month or so ago. After that horrible experience, I really didn't want to try lash extensions again. BUT I was going out of town this weekend, so I wanted to get them done after seeing Trang's reviews and photos of her work on Yelp. I texted her on Monday and she replied right away to let me know I was able to schedule an appointment online. So easy. For the first time, you'll have to pay the fee up front. Very affordable compared to other places I saw. I called this week and I was able to get an appointment today. When I got there, I explained to her what happened the last time at the other lash place. I am Asian, and I have very fine, thin, short (pretty much non-existent) lashes and I wear fake strip lashes daily. I wanted a dramatic look with volume. She explained to me how my lashes were fine and thin, but she said she was able to make them noticeable. About an hour or so later, she was finished and I looked in the mirror. I was in shock... I had long, thick, voluminous lashes that curled up and out! I was SO happy with how they turned out... went home and all I needed was some liner underneath the eye and nothing on top! I sent a pic to my friends and they even said the new lashes made my eyes "pop". I went to Ulta later that day and was complimented on my eyes as well! I had my first appointment with trang today and it was such a great experience!! I was running really late (like 15 minutes late) and she was super nice about it and it didn't seem to bother her at all. I arrived at her house and her whole living room is set up as a lash salon! I was immediately greeted by her adorable Bengal cat (I'm super obsessed with cats) and I let him sleep on my lap and purrrr the whole time my lashes were getting done. She was the kindest most friendly person so we just chatted about our lives and time just flew by. When she was done my lashes were beautiful and so natural looking (which is what I asked for). When I started to drive home I realized that I should of maybe gone a little more dramatic because I usually wear a lot of mascara, totally my fault because I wasn't clear on what effect I wanted. When I told trang this she offered to just put some more lashes and some darker lashes on me right after her next client! I am so the type of person to not say exactly what I want and then regret it later. So I happily came back, had one last good convo and got the most beautiful lashes I have ever seen.
