I was in the area and needed to kill some time before driving to my next destination. I've seen Tram Coffee around and decided to check it out. I ordered the Saigon and Matcha latte. When I initially saw the price of the drinks, I thought it was a little pricey. When I got my drink, I noticed that it was mostly ice. However, when I drank my matcha, I realized they do not skimp on what they give you. The matcha and coffee were strong so the amount of ice that was given made sense. Like most places now-a-days, you order at a kiosk. The bathroom key is hanging on the wall for patrons. Wifi is available. Tables, chairs, and overall restaurant is clean too.

Matcha, fruit tea, toppings

Tram Coffee #8 just opened up and I was able to go the day after opening and a week after. I've been to the one in Hayward before and first tried the Tropical Fruit Tea. I got that again in Sunnyvale and am still so shocked at how large the 800mL cup size is. This tea only comes in the large size due to all the fruit inclusions like orange. Other drinks are available in 600mL or the 800. The juice layers of dragonfruit, passionfruit, etc. look so pretty! I get no added sugar and it's sweet enough. I also got the house milk tea which comes with boba, grass jelly, and coffee jelly. No sugar is good for me and the black tea is strong. One of my friends is a bit crazy and gets super strong Viet coffee, meaning the classic Saigon and adds two additional shots of espresso! She asks for less condensed milk too. She also got the peach orange fruit tea with lychee jelly and it quenches the thirst. Another friend got the egg cream coffee and the cream is soo yellow! He said it was good. We tried out some snacks. I got the trio of custard buns from Tracy Bakery: vanilla, chocolate, and matcha. I liked the last two more. We also tried the rice paper rolls which had shredded fresh papaya with crispy bits of meat and veggies, topped with some cream similar to sour cream. It came with a tangy dipping sauce as well. Both kiosk and cashier offering available. Plenty of indoor seating. The employees are nice and helpful. This used to be ShareTea and R&B Tea so it's the same seating layout for this new coffee spot. Can't wait to go back and will try a different fruit tea like lychee. They open early!

Wow ! Their coffee got me buzzed ! As a coffee lover, love their Vietnamese coffee. It has the bitterness, right amount of sweetness, & the crack caffeine !!! Happy for this new location since I moved. Not a fan of matcha in general, but their match is actually very good from the sips I've tried! Love how you can customize your drink settings. Still in the soft opening but it looks clean and service was quick. Order on a kiosk. Learned all the matches are mixed with oat milk.

I'm so glad there's a Tram location in Sunnyvale now! I'm a fan of their Vietnamese coffee and my go-to is their VIP which includes both egg cream and coffee cream. The coffee is strong and creamy which I enjoy and definitely hits the spot every single time. Besides coffee, they have matcha, fruit tea, and more--but I usually just go here for the coffee. The overall shop is clean, has a few tables to sit at, the menu is straightforward and has clear pictures, and ordering is by kiosk. Been here twice during their soft opening and no complaints or wait times. Def my go-to for Vietnamese coffee!

Banafe and White Bear

Found this spot on a whim as I was looking for a different location but oh was it a lovely surprise. They are in their soft opening but my visits have been pleasant. First off, their coffee is strong. The VIP, Egg Coffee, and Banafe all have that rich, bold coffee taste that will power you up. I do recommend getting less sweet for the options as the creams do add enough sweetness. I got the White Bear regular sweetness and I couldn't really taste the coffee but I could feel it. White Bear just tasted like condensed milk which wasn't bad, but it wasn't what I was looking for. I would totally would get the VIP or Egg Coffee again. Inside, you order at the kiosk or at the counter with the staff. Staff is nice. Inside is clean and has a nice, simple decor. There's a couple of tables and ~15 seats . Parking is easy, there's a shared plaza with plenty of spots. Overall, they've got strong and flavorful coffee that will keep you up and running for the rest of the day if not more. Make sure to eat something beforehand, but definitely go check them out!

This is a clean, modern new space on El Camino. There are a couple of seats to work at, but this is mainly a take-out spot. There should be 10% off all food and drinks during their soft opening week (April 7-13), but it didn't automatically apply for me on the kiosk. You might need to ask the staff to apply it manually. Egg Coffee (small, $6.75): A unique take that includes coffee jelly. It comes in a sealed cup, though I personally would have preferred a sip lid to enjoy the foam properly. Double Matcha (small, $7.50): Made with first harvest, organic ceremonial grade matcha. It was strong and flavorful with a nice creamy finish. The cups are on the smaller side (500-600cc) and come heavily iced--nearly half the cup. There's no option to adjust ice levels or choose an alternative milk.

I love Tram! I've been to both of their locations in San Jose and it's nice that Sunnyvale has one now! They're having their soft opening this week, where there's a 10% off discount. The interior is nice and clean. The service was fast, given that I went on a Tuesday morning and was the only customer. Today was their first day of soft opening so it seems like they're still training their staff but it was great service overall. Their coffee tasted consistent to their other locations. Will definitely be back!

Matchahaya, cream and smooth with a hint of lavender! Excellent beverage for a warm afternoon
Michael B.

This place is very nice, clean and quaint. Great music, good bass and up beat. Got the Thai Milk Tea and the Matchahaya - blended matcha with matcha crème top has a hint of lavender. Not too sweet yet creamy. My only concern was while the owner or manager was doing an interview, the girls behind the counter were texting on their phones and sharing an uncovered drink. While I am sure it was innocent in nature, it raises concern for a health code violation of cross contamination as they are touching their phones and grabbing their straws then going back to making customers drinks without washing their hands or putting on clean gloves. I asked for a managers card and yet they didn't have them yet. Not a good look when you're first opening a place.

Menu

Ordered a matcha latte and house milk tea with 25% sweetness which was perfect. Only thing though was I couldn't adjust the matcha latte sweetness through the kiosk. I asked one of the workers if they could adjust it and they said they could add less condensed milk. Very fast and friendly service, thanks for the accommodation! Matcha latte is also very different from other places I've had. It comes with oatmilk by default and I've had this combination countless times elsewhere, but here it's really creamy which I actually prefer. Place is also cute and clean. Will come back to try other drinks! Edit: I forgot we also had the trio custard buns and those were also really good. Soft and fluffy, and most importantly not too sweet!

Yummy coffee, drinks and snacks. Great find! Service was fast they have some seating in the shop. This is a gem in the CVS shopping strips. Bought mine togo

Ice

Really wanted to support a local AAPI-owned business, which is why this was extra disappointing. Paid $7 for a Vietnamese iced coffee ("Creamy Ha Noi") and the cup was basically packed with ice. It looked full at first, but after 5-7 sips the drink was gone and all that was left was melted ice. The coffee itself tasted good, but the portion was way too small for the price. I understand iced Vietnamese coffee is strong and typically served over ice, but this felt excessive. I'd gladly support local businesses when the value matches the price, but this experience honestly felt like paying mostly for ice instead of coffee.

Love the coffee, and so happy there's a location closer to me in Sunnyvale now. Only docking 1 start because they put sooo much ice in my drink, I got a small and was able to get like a good 4 sips

We came here for their grand opening. I got the hot egg coffee 16 oz. Since it is too hot, I didn't drink it yet and removed the lid. Then the cup was only half full with the coffee. I understand it is grand opening, but they should fix it.

This is not a large Bánh Mi shop, but their food is delicious. We ordered pork pate chaud, banh mi…read moredac biet (house special sandwich - 1b) and a double spam masubi. All were delicious! The pate chaud is a little smaller than other locations, but it's good quality and flaky, not too oily. The banh mi dac biet had a soft, yet crispy roll, plenty of cold cuts, and a nice amount of pate spread. The veggies were a little on the lower quantity, but it was fresh. The double spam masubi was warm and delicious, absolutely worth the extra up charge for two slices of spam. The gentleman taking our order was friendly and helpful for new customers. He spoke English and Vietnamese, which is a plus for those wanting to work on their Vietnamese food ordering skills. The restaurant had plenty of free parking, and a few small tables if you decide to eat onsite. Recommend order to go because it's cramped inside. The smell of fresh food to-go definitely helped me order more food than I was intending to - great ambience. Highly recommend if you need a quality banh mi without long waits.

The store has a very homely but familiar atmsophere, which I feel could be divisive but I personally like. Aside from the ordering counter, the entire store is stuffed with a variety of snacks, drinks, and toys. Some of the snacks are familiarly American, but many are Vietnamese snacks/drinks more uncommon here, including fermented meats, honey comb cake, and more. The menu on the wall has a lot of photos, but it also doesn't cover everything you can order here. According to their menu, they primarily serve bahn mis and other sandwiches, but you can order spring rolls. I love their spring rolls, and it's all I really order here. I wouldn't recommend eating in, as it is really cramped, but it's a great spot for quickly picking up some good food to take on the go. They make the food quickly and it tastes really good, so I like to drop by after work to take some food to-go.

Plenty of seating. interior very clean and inviting. The food is eatable. Had the Lovers Sample Plate. Everything on the sampler was good. Cons; Location is in a poor spot. Parking limited and shared with other businesses in the strip mall. The restaurant is next to a medium size grocery store and across the street from a school. I had a large #17 Pho with sliced steak, brisket, flank, tendon, tripe, and noodles. The broth was lacking flavor. The sriracha was so watered down that it ruined the soup when I used it. The garnishment plate came with very little. needed more basil, bean sprouts, I felt there was enough jalapenos and lemon wedges. I had to share this with another adult. probably won't come back. unless I remember to bring my own sriracha

Lovers Special Noodle Soup - I enjoyed the variety of different meats in this dish. It had sliced steak, beef balls, and oxtail which were all tender. However, the broth kind of lacked flavor. Shaken Beef Garlic Noodles - definitely a top favorite! They don't skimp out on the beef pieces which is a plus. The shaken beef is nice and tender and nicely seasoned along with the noodles and veggies. They even have extra sauce on the side to add if you like your noods extra saucy. Grilled Pork, Grilled Shrimp, Egg Rolls & Salad with Vermicilli - very fulfilling and I enjoyed the ratio of meats to noodles. The pork is tender and they gave a good mix of lean/fatty pieces which I enjoyed. Service is great and I have no complaints. There are a ton of tables/booths to sit at. I'll definitely be a returning customer.

But from the looks of the dish, not much meat on the plate. 3.5/5 GRILLED PORK & PORK EGG ROLL VERMICELLI ~ This is my go-to dish when I'm eating Vietnamese. The pork wasn't really salty or as flavorful as I had expected. Pretty average compared to other eateries with the same dish. I forgot to tell them not to include raw bean sprouts, so when I put the sprouts aside, it filled 1/4 of my bowl. 3.5/5 COMBINATION BEEF PHO ~ My guy ordered this and said the broth was bland compared to other Vietnamese eateries. Not much in the bowl. He went home and made a sandwich. 3/5 HALF HAINANESE CHICKEN AND CHICKEN RICE ~ Our friend ordered this dish; he left more than 1/2 of the chicken on his plate. He said it was dry, and the skin wasn't at all crispy because they didn't blanch it in ice water to give that crispy texture for Hainanese Chicken. The rice wasn't flavorful either. He left dissatisfied and hungry. 2/5 PANDAN WAFFLES ~ comp dessert after our meal. This was lightly sweetened, crispy, and chewy. Actually very good. 4/5 Hit or miss with some of the dishes, though it seemed more misses than hits. I was told the San Jose location is better. But I've tried both and wasn't impressed with either location. The only item we liked was the complimentary dessert!
