We had a late night the night before, so we were craving a hot bowl of pho in the morning and decided to try out Pho #1. Very clean inside with many different options for pho and other Vietnamese dishes as well. Service was very friendly and quick to take our order. We ordered the #1 (Combo) and #3 (Rare Steak) with a side order of egg rolls. The egg rolls were freshly fried and super crunchy, it came with a side of veggies + sweet chili sauce as a dip. The pho itself is well-portioned and you can choose between fresh noodle (flat) or regular noodles. The broth was very aromatic, the star anise flavor really shines through. We also ordered a side of the scallion oil and pickled onions to eat along with our pho. Everything was pretty solid in terms of your usual pho restaurant. read more

Pho #1 is on the rotation of handful of pho places from Mid-Peninsula to South Bay that my family enjoy, especially my elder Dad who loves his seafood pho and spring roll. Whenever errands take me to Sunnyvale, I will stop by to order to go or if dad is with me, dine in. During this visit, I ordered the vegetarian pho with vegetable broth. There was such umami flavor that I didn't miss having animal protein. They were not stingy with veggies, which were cooked tender crisp not mushy. I've enjoyed their chicken, beef & seafood phos too. Their broths are very comforting, especially on a cold, windy day. Always request an extra small bowl because portions are generous to share or enjoy an extra meal at home. read more

Amazing Service and Delicious Food! I had such a great experience at Pho #1 today! The food was fresh, flavorful, and comforting the pho broth was rich and aromatic, and the grilled beef with rice and salad was perfectly seasoned. The Thai tea was also super refreshing! Our server, Nhung, was absolutely wonderful friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed. So me and my friend Donald came here one day when I was suffering from a severe internal infection I was feeling cold from blood loss and I was in dire need of hot healthy food that wouldn't hurt my stomach, so we saw a recommendation on Instagram to come to this place and we weren't disappointed! The food here was delicious, healthy and nutritious! The broth was the right temperature, it was warm enough and a little bit hot but not so hot that it was too hot. The noodles were exactly the right amount of chewiness, their drinks were ice cold and the right amount of sweetness which was perfect! And they had a wonderful selection of bean sprouts and vegetables you could put into your soup if you wanted along with mint leaves and cut up limes. The service was great our server greeted us and sat us down treated us well and was very polite. The ambiance was happy, and calming. Over all we were very happy with this place! It's become my go- to when I'm sick. A lot of flavor and it was good but I wanted BBH and it didn't have a single taste of that. My bf got the pork chops which was very flavorful and good! Big portion! Their fish sauce was whatever. this place has become one of my favorite pho places because it is affordable and good. the pho restaurant itself feels pretty clean and there is ample seating. located in a busy plaza in sunnyvale, this place is in a great location if you want to stop by the dollar store after. the food was great! really big portions, especially for the price. what we got: thai tea (10/10 yums): your typical thai iced tea! i enjoyed it a lot and i felt like the ratio between the cream and tea was good. salt and pepper tofu (1000/10 yums): honestly, this one was shocking. it was very cheap and was SO GOOD. it had a good amount of seasoning without being too salty and was crispy on the outside, but soft on the inside tofu spring rolls (100/10 yums): super refreshing and the tofu was very soft. veggie egg rolls (10/10 yums): fried nicely! it's what you would expect from a veggie egg roll! chicken pho (100/10 yums): the chicken itself was not too dry and they give ALOT. be careful when mixing because the noodles may be clumped at first, so it may push some soup out. my sister and i both really liked how they seasoned this! beef pho: i didn't eat this but my partner really liked it! overall, highly recommend for some affordable and great food! read more
