Trafford has always been a favorite of mine. The food is always excellent. The staff we encountered were friendly and personable. The view on the water is fabulous. 5 stars as always. Tonight was a busy night and our server Emily was FANTASTIC in every way. I'm not sure if the blonde woman checking in on us was the manager or the owner but she was so lovely as well. The kitchen did a wonderful job and each dish was great. I had the roast beef & it was perfect. My friends had different seafood plates and enjoyed them. The topper was the chocolate peanut butter cake. The bartender seemed overwhelmed keeping up with a busy restaurant. Other than that, highly recommend this top notch restaurant to everyone.

Dessert for Two!

My friend and I lunch here earlier today. First visit for us both. Exceptional experience: 11:45 am arrival allowed us to beat the Noon+ crowd. We sat outside adjacent to the dock. Enthralling views of the waterway and boats of all types and dimensions. We started with drinks: flavorful, eye catching, and inventive. Then to Gazpacho soup, salad, mussels, lobster, and crab cakes. Each item was remarkable for texture, flavor, and appearance. Dessert was a multi-tiered strawberry shortcake that did not disappoint! Great coffees too. Service was also memorable. Our waitress made our dining experience memorable, too. (In her spare cycles she was making drinks at the outdoor bar.) One Small Caution: Parking gets tight (shared with at least one other establishment) and the crushed seashell lot has major divots (to slow us down, I presume.) We found a spot and there's free on-street parking a short distance.

Nice restaurant in Warren by the water. Lots of parking in its private lot. We liked the food we got (I got the Swordfish and my husband got the Brioche Chicken), but for the price we paid, we felt the portions were not very generous. We were both hungry after finishing our meals to the point that when we got home we had to eat stuff from our pantry.... To me, if we are spending over $100 for 2 dishes and drinks, the least you could hope for is to be satisfied and full. That was not the case. Maybe if the restaurant makes the serving sizes a bit bigger, they would have more repeat business from satisfied customers.

great selection for Gluten free items, breads, scallops, fried food along with great service and atmosphere

It was a delightful lunch today at Trafford Restaurant. This was our first time here. The ambience was very relaxing and inviting. The service was attentive and kind. The food was delicious. The salmon burger is delicious and the fries were tasty. I would recommend the Trafford restaurant.

Their Australian Wagyu was delicious. The edges were a pretty fatty but it was good overall.

I came here today as a second last hoorah before a major surgery tomorrow. Last night at another restaurant unfortunately went terribly so I wanted to make up for it. My visit to Trafford today with a friend really hit the spot! The hostess found our reservation and asked our preference on seating. It was a breath of fresh air and we were able to get seats right on the deck overlooking the beautiful water and scenery. We ordered some appetizers. We started with the scallops with bacon that were delicious! The corn puree and maple glaze really made the dish pop! It was an absolute MUST try! You can tell the scallops were fresh! The crab cakes were great and the corn topping on them made them even better! Normally I request extra sauce but these didn't need anything added to make them delicious! The Ahi tuna appetizer was incredibly. The temp and flavor was PERFECT! Our calamari was good but I only ordered it because the menu states that it includes rings and tentacles which is very rare to come by in Rhode Island. The sauce was good but there were absolutely no tentacles which was rather disappointing. This was my least favorite because I was really looking forward to the tentacles (my favorite part). We split a Wagyu Australian strip that was good. The edges were super fatty but it was overall good. It was cooked to temp throughout. I wouldn't say it was the best wagyu I've ever had but it was very well seasoned and great compared to a lot of other local spots that sell Wagyu. It was certainly worthy of the price though! The dish overall was great once cutting the fat off. I would probably order it again cause for a steak it had great flavor and the cooks definitely know how to season things like a champ (which is shockingly rare these days). Our server was great. My friend's drinks were perfect. I had ordered a Chandon split with a side of oj which was served with ice? But after picking the ice out I was able to make my mimosa like I prefer since ordering a mimosa never guarantees the champagne/OJ ratio for for one's preference. Overall, that's nothing to care about when she was so attentive in many ways that so many other establishment lack. You can truly tell she cares! She was above and beyond friendly and helpful and that's what matters. Both of the hostesses were wonderful and very friendly. I would 100% come back here in a heartbeat. This is my second time at this establishment. I probably won't order the calamari again but otherwise everything was delicious! I took one star off just for false advertisement when it came to the calamari. I believe that the restaurant should update their menu if the appetizer doesn't include the ingredients stated in the future. The remainder of our experience was great though. I would absolutely recommend this restaurant to friends and family going forward.

Short rib bolognese

My husband and I tried this place for the first time for date night and it was so worth it. The restaurant is right on the water with an amazing view. Our server Megan was in training and she was very pleasant and attentive. I had the Short rib bolognese and my husband had the pecan salmon which I will get next time we go. Both dishes were delicious and the portions were great size. So glad we finally got to eat here and we'll definitely be back.

French dip with truffle Parmesan fries

What a gem of a spot, greeted by the host and taken upstairs to enjoy lunch with a lovely view. Morgan was our server and she was excellent. We enjoyed the French dip and short rib melt, sandwiches were delicious. Our truffle Parmesan fries were also great. The view was amazing and service exceptional. Can't wait to go back!

Overall our dinner was delicious! Drinks were great, we got the pear martini and grapefruit martini. Bread and butter was delicious but you pay extra for additional rolls, which is ridiculous. Our food was delicious! We got the burger and bolognese. Restaurant is super cute. We sat outside with cover and heaters which was lovely. The only thing was service was a little slow but super friendly. We recommend and will return!

I shared some with others telling them how delicious it was. My friend ordered the bolognese entree which she says is the best she has ever had. Their eggplant parm sandwich was recommended as well. My husband had the shrimp fettuccine, also delicious. The kids like their chicken tenders. Hostess was friendly and sat us right away. Waiter was so nice. The space is quite intimate and lowly lit, but service was a little slow to start (although extremely friendly). I am a sucker for housemade pickles; I'll order that anywhere, and I was very pleased with Bywater's. You cant go wrong with any of their crudos, but the belle of the ball was the spicy crab pasta. They have a daily menu, and I've had some friends suggest this place as their favorite restaurant. We parked blocks away due to the lack of adequate parking. Once we walked in, we were greeted with pleasant smiles from the staff. The menu was short, which we attributed to a focus on quality. We ordered a French onion dip and a littleneck entree as an app for the table. We were served with lukewarm water, neither cold nor hot. The apostle John might have been somewhat disappointed (Rev 3:16). The dip was decent but was somewhat lacking in great onion flavor. But nothing to complain about. The little necks were served in a small bowl and lacked a bit of salt. Rather pricey for $26, but this place charges $6 just for bread and butter, so maybe it's just inflation? Enter the entrees. They apparently were short on chicken legs so they asked to substitute chicken breast. Two of us got burgers. First the $20 burgers, which were served with an aioli with no offer of ketchup or other condiments. In short, both burgers were terrible. Far worse than we make at home. It's always a disappointment when you realize you're paying all this extra for food you can make better at home. The buns were shockingly flat, like someone smashed them by hand. Or in a McDonald's box. Come to think of it, the flavor was similar, though overall the hamburger was somewhat bitter, salty and lacked an appetizing flavor. Wow. We all agreed they were terrible. The fries were also burnt and over salted. My daughter quit on her $30 chicken, so I tried it. The sauce wasn't bad, and it was served with a decent brocollini. But the chicken was some of the driest I've had in a restaurant, with no crisp skin and a uniformly poor texture. No wonder no one finished their entrees. And I hate wasting food. So, as much as we would have wanted to give this place a great rating, we just won't be back. The service, although with a smile, was slow and terrible. Our candle burnt out in the middle of dinner. It was never relit. Our glasses were empty halfway through dinner. No refills on the tepid water. The entrees took an hour and a half before they came out (we were warned the chicken could take 30 min). Generally a very disappointing experience. Hard to explain the rave reviews but our Saturday dinner was a sad bust. The cold wet madeleines they provided in a doggie bag didn't do anything to help. Oh well. Hope y'all have a better experience if you go here.

We ordered the mini stuffies, the hummus plate, and the fried pickles. The mini stuffies were a highlight. Loaded with Mello's chouriço and packed with flavor, they're a solid little bite. My grandfather set the bar pretty high for me on stuffies, and these came close. They have a different profile than what I grew up with; a little less bready, more chouriço forward, and the clam flavor takes a back seat. Not necessarily a complaint, they were just different from what I'm used to and were genuinely tasty. The lemon aioli on top was also a nice touch. The fried pickles were exactly what you want them to be. Crispy, well fried, and the breading actually stayed put while you ate them, which is more than I can say for a lot of fried pickles. They came with the same lemon aioli as the stuffies, which worked just as well here. The hummus plate was a bit of a letdown. We've had it many times before and it used to be a standout. This time the hummus itself was thick and pretty flavorless, more like a dense chickpea paste than anything else. The accompaniments were nice though and consisted of heirloom carrots, cucumbers, olives, cherry tomatoes, asparagus, pickled cauliflower, carrot, and a pepperoncini, all served alongside some buttery round crackers that were like a Ritz cracker's more refined cousin. The veggies saved the plate, but the hummus needs to find its way back. I suppose it could have just been an off batch and won't prevent us from trying it again. Cocktails were great, as usual. I had the Anana with scotch. I love pineapple and this has muddled pineapple and basil, pineapple juice, cracked black pepper. It's my go-to here and it delivered again. My partner went adventurous and ordered the Jungle Booby, which is built around tequila blanco and mezcal with campari, pineapple, grapefruit, lime, orgeat, and an absinthe spritz. The flavors were genuinely good, but the smokiness from the mezcal was a bit much for her taste. She followed it up with a glass of rosé and had no complaints after that. The cocktail wasn't the problem, it just wasn't her style. One of our favorite spots in Warren for a quick nibble, for a good reason.

My friend had been to the Aviary before and spoke highly of it, and after scanning the menu, I also thought it was a great selection. It was around 8:15 pm when we arrived so we luckily just barely made it before the kitchen closed and we were able to be sat outside. We started with drinks - a Maracuja (which translates to passion fruit in English) and Lychee Martini - both were excellent! They were refreshing, not overly sweet, tasted just like the fruit advertised, and didn't have a ton of ice. All the appetizers made my mouth water just by reading them on the menu, but we decided on the garlic rosemary wings to keep it classic. The menu said they'd be jumbo wings, but they looked like normal size to me which I was actually pleased about since jumbo wings scare me (they're usually raw closer to the bone). They were very crispy on the outside which almost dried them out, but the garlic and rosemary infused butter did bring them back to life a little. I could taste both the garlic and rosemary in the butter and the parmesan cheese shavings were a great touch. For entrees, I ordered a CT style lobster roll and my friend had the swordfish (with fingerling potatoes and asparagus). On Wednesdays, a lobster roll is $20 which is a really good price especially since it also comes with homemade chips. They give you an option between CT style (warm and lobster tossed with butter) and New England style (cold and tossed with mayo and lemon), so I learned something new that day. The bun was buttered and toasted, and it was stuffed with a good amount of fresh lobster meat, and mixed with a light amount of butter. The chips were crunchy, seasoned, fresh, and tasted like real potatoes but just a millimeter or two thicker. The swordfish was flavorful, moist, and did not taste fishy at all. The fingerling potatoes were soft and flavorful as well. They also brought us out an order of fries and they were quite good, maybe missing some salt but I liked that there was a variety going on such as crispy, oily, soft, long, short, edges etc. Our server was great throughout the night; brought us everything we needed without checking in too often. Even though they were closed, the staff did not make us feel like we had to rush out; they were rather patient and we left around 9:45 pm. Both the inside and outside of the restaurant are very nice. The inside gives classy, and the outside gives great space for laughter and good vibes. They even have a section with lawn chairs over turf with string lights. The entrance/exit path is also very nice, with hydrangeas, roses, and other flowers on either side, a white arch, and string lights too. Overall very pleased with the ambiance, quality of food, prices, and service.

Waitress did not check in to see how we liked our food after it was delivered, but otherwise gave great service with a smile. Menu is small and very meat and seafood centric - not especially ideal for picky eaters or vegetarians/vegans. The Thai wrap appetizer tasted exactly like the Asian salad you can buy in a bag at the grocery store for $3. They were not really 'wraps' but this pre-made salad tossed upon some leaves of lettuce, difficult to eat, and had only the smallest dallop of peanut sauce on them (which was the best part!) My partner's General Al's Chicken took you on a journey from savory to sweet to spicy flavor-wise, but there was something off about the taste that he did not care for (and I've never seen him dislike food at a restaurant. Ever.) My side salad was lettuce only doused in the same aforementioned Asian salad grocery store mix dressing, with lots of wilted/old lettuce that I had to pick out. My entree was good but tasted generic, like something I've had at other chain restaurants a million times before with no unique twist put on it. It had a sauce but it had little to no flavor - couldn't figure out what it even was and didn't remember it being on the menu - so it added nothing to the dish. There are lots of rave reviews here, but we just don't get it. We've ordered takeout from here before and that time, too, we were not overwhelmed with joy, just kind of 'whelmed.' Very 'meh,' and with so many other incredible food establishments within a 25 minute drive in Providence or in between, or even great local spots in town, this place just doesn't hold a candle. Not worth going back. It felt like a very novice chef was at the helm and dishes lacked inspiration and new, exciting flavors that we haven't seen before.
