Track house is in a beautiful neighborhood. The staff was friendly and helpful. We did the one hour trail ride. It was quite relaxing. The grounds are beautiful and the horses were great. I rode Goliath, the largest horse ever!, he was a gentle giant. We had a 6 year old in our group, first time on a horse, the horse was phenomenal. She was not spooked at all. Beautiful drive to the stables and plenty of room on the 250 acres. We were worried it would just be another "follow the horse in front of you" but we were able to trot, let the horses graze in a field, drink in the river and stop and take pictures. Plenty of safety with just enough excitement to get the whole crew having fun. We had a 6 year old daughter that was hand led by a guide to ease momma's fears. We were in site number 15, it was beautiful. Until the people with loud music showed up on Thursday. But the site of soap was great.

I have taken my family to many ranches on family vacations and this ranch has to be one of THE BEST! The land was beautiful, the bathroom was super clean, the horses were great and the staff was super friendly and fun. We did the 90 minute ride. We went along a stream and up and down small paths. It wasn't a scary path, both my boys, ages 11 and 14 rode alone and loved it. The staff asked if we wanted to trot. They made several stops to check in with each rider of they felt comfortable or needed any adjustments. The staff was very attentive the entire time from start to finish. They were great with children as well as our horses. They paired us up with horses according to our experience and preferences. We will definitely go back. They also stopped in the most beautiful spot and offered to take pictures of our family for us. At the end of our ride, we got to pick out old horseshoes to take home. read more

Awesome experience with the two hour ride. Chrissy was our guide. Very personable and detailed about questions/answers. Hadn't risen a horse for 38 years (since I was a kid) and within a few minutes, I was 100% comfortable. The property is beautiful. Over 200 acres and well maintained trails. Elevation is approximately 2200 feet so it is a few degrees cooler than metro Atlanta (which is a huge plus in the summer)....! Horses are great and trained to do what they are suppose to do. Don't forget to wear jeans, long sleeve shirt and comfortable shoes or boots. I was in tennis shoes and shorts, was fine, but if you're sensitive to bugs, you might want jeans. (Remember it's GA and we have bugs in the woods). 5/5 stars. 100%. If you are considering this, don't hesitate. Just book it and go!!!! Had a blast. Well worth the 1.5 hour drive and cost. Let me start by saying, my initial reaction was that this was a good place to ride a horse. Upon leaving, I recanted on the offer I was given to be able to ride the horse. I paid $170 for supposedly 90 minutes of a ride plus pictures and treats. When asked why is it $170 instead of the $50 or $100 time in the website, they said this is all they can offer. Should have been the first red flag. Our tour guide was nice but we ended the ride early because there was another group coming after us. Not sure why they wanted to cut us short because they aren't organized enough to manage their time. On top of that, we got no treats that were promised such as hot chocolate and the worst part was we never got the pictures that they took for us. Sure, I wanted to ride the entire 90 minutes but 75 minutes was close enough. We got a water bottle instead of the chocolate because "it wasn't ready" but to have a professional photographer on site taking photos of us gave me the expectation of receiving nice photos for our memories and leaving the experience at that. Upon asking when we will receive the photos, we had a young lady at the counter who spoke like she only knew the words cowboy hat tell me they will email us. I never gave them my email. I wanted to give it to her right then but she said we'll call if we need it, thanks... Tin can for a brain. Then obviously I had to call and give them my email a week later and they said it will be here within the week. This was end of February. Its April now. I called again and was given the number to the photographer and the number leads to nobody. Anytime I call back they either don't answer me or tell me a manager will get back to me, but never has. I can let go of the shorten time or the hot chocolate but sending me on the run around and constant lies is too much to accept. This place is nothing but a inadequate business on a farm. No accountability or any type of common sense and decency. At this point I just want my money back but I doubt the hayseeds will oblige. My advice, find some place with a reasonable price and who actually deliver on their promises read more

We fell in love with this place. Super kid friendly. The prices were great and they were very accommodating as well as knowledgeable. We rode with our 2 1/2 year old and she was able to ride with her daddy and experience this as well. The guides were great and super fun. Gorgeous views. read more

Fun ride with Trackrock stables; we took the 1 hour trail. We enjoyed the scenery and even got to "trot" on our horses for a lively pace. Trackrock also has a 2-hour trail. The people were super nice and knowledgeable. Well worth the visit! Next time we'll try the 2-hour trail. read more

I took my sisters family to ride there and we had so much fun. The staff is extra friendly and knowledgeable and stops the group after about 10min. Into it and double checks you gear. The horses were healthy and for the most part well behaved. A couple had minds of their own so I would definitely recommend wearing a helmet because of all the rocks on the trail. Beautiful location and fantastic guides. We had a wonderful 1 hour trail ride, but what I'm most appreciative of was the special care and attention they gave to my 5 year old. He was too big to ride "doubled up" with one of us, but he's still very little and I was worried about him being on a horse on his own. There was at least one guide at all times holding his horse's lead rope, and when the other horses began to trot they had one guide in front of my son and another behind to make sure his horse continued walking. My son had been nervous at first, but in no time was totally comfortable and just loved the adventure. read more

Very good with kids and so nice! We took are 3 & 7 year olds and they both had a blast. Our 7 year old ride alone on a horse the perfect size and temperament for him. It was his first time and he can't wait to go back. A lot of places don't do double riders and thus why we chose this one for our 3 year to go with us, and we couldn't have had a better time. This past weekend I stopped by Trackrock for an hour of horseback riding on a guided trail. I've been to other places before and expected this place to be like all the others but it really wasn't. I was pleasantly surprised by the patient instruction of the guides and their obvious love for all the horses. There were people of all ages in my group and the guides continuously checked to make sure everyone was comfortable and doing OK during the ride. They even provided a little education about horse behavior which was really interesting. What made this place especially different is that the guides actually had different sections where they led us in a trot which I have never done before. If you didn't want to trot you didn't have to but of course I'm always game for trying something new. All in all it was a great experience. It wasn't too expensive and it was a great place with a welcoming staff. Next time I go horseback riding, I'll definitely keep Trackrock in mind. read more

The location is stunning. Surrounded by mountains, greenery, trees galore, one feels as though they could be in Switzerland or Colorado fully immersed in nature. The ride was lovely. Took the first one of the morning and it was wonderful to be in fields and trails that are on a par with a national park. The approach and entrance to Trackrock is well lit and maintained. Also of note, the horses and stables area are clean and one can see that the horses are exceptionally well loved and cared for. Staff was super friendly and relaxed but professional and very concerned about the safety and well being of others. I have ridden horses for years and would have loved to canter or trot more--but most in our group were beginners. Was told that if I wanted to do that, would have to take a two-hour ride, which they happily offered to extend my ride, but sadly I didn't have time that morning. Next time, for sure. Otherwise, lovely and relaxing for time for families, single travelers, all levels and ages. Thank you! read more

I was lucky enough to have a friend, that had to pick a glider up in Blairsville, GA invite me to join her on her trip. Since it was a couple hours out of Atlanta she suggested we seek out other adventures while up there. We decided to make the most of the road trip and she found Trackrock on-line and suggested we try to go horseback riding while up there. The website was very informative and I suggest checking out the start times for the hour long and 2 hour long rides. We were lucky to arrive at the perfect time despite not really paying attention to our timing. The staff were super friendly. This was the first guided ride where they actually walked me through all the safety and riding tips I might need to know. I felt very prepared when I hopped on Bud, and was off. We selected the one hour guided tour and to my surprise we actually got to trott twice. I wasn't very good at it, my own fault, and I bruised a bit (just remember to stand) but I had a blast and felt extra lucky to to have a chance at actually trotting. The guides were super nice and informative and you had an overall sense that they really cared about the horses. I would go back to Trackrock any day. It was a great experience. I highly recommend it if you're looking for a quick trip out of Atlanta accompanied by a fun adventure. Stop in Dahlonega while you're up there. It's another cute and charming town. read more

I used to love this place. And it certainly is a beautiful place, for sure. However, over the years, I have noticed that more and more of the 'primo' spots are being taken up by permanent campers. Now, management denies that there are people that take up residency at Trackrock. But it's hard to ignore the satellite dishes with their poles buried in the ground, buried cables, permanent stairs/structures with tarps littering these sites, full on work stations being erected, and tacky landscaping that is haphazardly planted around the campers. As stated before, these hovels are taking up the prime spots on the campground that should be enjoyed by vacationing campers. Again, management denies that there are permanent campers here. Evidence suggests otherwise. Starting to look icky, Trackrock. Please do something about the folks taking up residency.. you are better than this. read more

This is our second year enjoying a trail ride at Trackrock Stables and it was just as amazing this year as our first! The staff is wonderful and welcoming as well as excited to share in our children's excitement about the horses! Lauren, our trail guide was so great and she even changed up our trail a bit since most of us had been on a ride with them before. My three year old and I rode Carlos together and my husband rode Archie, the alpha of the herd! Both of our horses were very sweet, well Carlos could be feisty with the other horses but nothing that wasn't easily corrected. The ride is easy and fun and the scenery beautiful!
