I had a great time riding horseback through the mountain trails. I definitely recommend.

Staff was extremely pleasant to talk with & very informative. We chose the four wheelers tour with Dan as our guide. Dan took care of us as well as a turtle that was crossing our path. Knowing we were beginners on the four wheelers, he constantly looked back to make sure we were comfortable & having fun. Stopped off a few times for an earful of knowledge, feeding a few animals & climbing a tower with a beautiful overlook (aside from a cell tower, the mountainous view was great. Felt bad for the horses. Even though they were shaded, wished they had fans running to cool off while in their stalls. That particular day, the air was heavy & hot with no breeze. Any other day I'm guessing there's a cool breeze blowing through. Wouldn't recommend playing corn hole as the floor was heavily littered with goat crap. Handling the corn bags means you're also handling goat shit. No running water till ya return back to the office. read more

Sunburst provided such a fun and enjoyable day for our family of 5! It has a distinct family feel with a welcoming staff and well kept property. We did the 2-hour ATV tour and although none of us had driven ATVs before, we were well prepared and supported throughout the drive by Sean and Jordan. They were fantastic! Even though I was nervous, they cheered me on and helped me overcome my fear. The route itself may be a challenge for new drivers, but fairly easy for experienced drivers. Today was an amazing day at Sunburst. My first stop was a 1 hour horseback trail ride with Spencer. She was great! The horses were easy to ride, and it was a perfect trail for a beginner. She made sure I was safe the whole time which was very comforting. My next stop was the zip line tour and boy was that the highlight of my day. I was greeted be Derek who made a wonderful first impression, he was kind, funny and very respectful. James and Jordan took me on the lines, and they were also kind and very funny. I felt so safe the entire time. They were great to talk to, and they made it so much fun. They made me laugh the whole time and I loved the banter we all had. The ATV's are a good experience. You have book online prior to arrival and be sure to check and double check your availability as they don't provide cancellations after booking. Wade was out guide and he was very helpful and attentive to our needs. It was only myself and friend on this particular day so it provided for a more intimate experience. You'll watch an instruction video and also practice your turns prior to getting started on the trail. The trail itself is very scenic and rugged so you have to take your time navigating and getting comfortable. They also advise that it is not a fast paced trail but don't worry it's still challenging enough to provide some thrill. We got to learn a little history of the mountains and also stop to see some of the animals on the property that included horses , goats, donkey, lama and pigs. They also have axe throwing which was a fun game. It was a good experience and something for everyone to enjoy. read more

BUYER BEWARE I paid $135 for an ATV tour. After two minutes of practicing with one mess up, I was told I could not ride the ATV. Instead, the tour guide rode me around in his glamorized golf cart while my friend had the fun of riding her ATV behind me. I was not offered the chance to practice one more time. I made a silly mistake, easily saw what I did wrong, and would not have made that mistake again. Rather than spending 20 to 30 minutes at the stopping points throughout the trail, they could instead increase practice time before the ride begins. I understand safety is important and I, like most people, was not looking to leave the experience with any injuries whether they be big or small. What I don't understand is why I signed a waiver giving Sunburst Adventures zero liability if people are told they can't participate after only two minutes of practice. For those of us who have been burned by this company, why still charge us $135? I didn't use your gas or damage any vehicle since I was not allowed to drive. My golf cart passenger ride wasn't even worth $50. I understand that I reserved a vehicle, but Sunburst Adventures decided I wouldn't use their vehicle, not me - despite signing a long waiver. If you don't want to change your practices (allow for 10 minutes of practice time instead of 2 minutes) or policies (don't charge full price to the waiver abiding customers you deny participation) then, at the very least, let potential customers know that your trail should not be considered by beginners. You'll take their money, and they won't actually ride an ATV. read more

We came here as a family for my daughter's birthday. They allow you to ride a horse solo at 7 years old, so that was the driving force for us. We booked a Family Adventure horse ride a week in advance and were the only ones on the tour when we arrived. This was great as it felt like a private experience. t was over the top cheesy, but my young kids ate it up. My 4 year old rode with me on the back of a horse. We felt completely safe the entire time. We started off by riding to a mine, where we switched from horses to a small barrel train car. We got to pick gems and then went to the blacksmith station where the stones were opened up. We then melted our own horseshoes and had a lunchables lunch. From there, we went fishing in the pond and caught some, proceeding to a bird cage with gerbils. We then rode back to the beginning. It was about 1 hour on horse, and one hour doing the various activities. read more

The staff was very friendly and the sights we saw on our family horseback ride were beautiful but when we got to our stop where the activities for children were, we found it to be a little run down and disappointing from an adult perspective. The package we bought said that "fishing a stocked pond" was included which was one of the things I was most looking forward to watching my 4 year old experience. There was a small pond with a bunch of tiny fish (2-3 inch brim) but fishing was never offered. There really wasn't many animals to pet. Our guide told us that they lost their farm dog that used to protect the area from raccoons and black snakes so many of the animals we would normally have got to see had been killed. I feel the price of the family ride should be adjusted to fit the lesser valued experience. read more

My party of 6 did the UTV tour. While waiting for the staff to bring the UTVs (think oversized golfcart with doors and significant offroad ability) around, we were encouraged to meet the horses in the stables. When the UTVs arrived, we took a two seater and a four seater. First of all, the vehicles were very clean and looked extremely well maintained. The guides were very safety conscious and took measures to ensure the safety of the group. It was appreciated. The guides were also very entertaining and made sure everyone on the tour got an opportunity to take part in the activities on the tour. The tour is self-described as not a high speed "X-Games" style tour and its not. The tour averages around 10 MPH through the woods over rough terrain. If you are familiar with overlanding, its akin to that but with smaller vehicles. The stops included an overlook and a small animal farm. The views were wonderful and the party really enjoyed the animals. My riding conditions were overcast and mostly dry. Even so, I would recommend wearing attire you dont mind getting dusty. I can imagine the ATV's and/or wetter conditions would result in a messier ride. I cant recommend Sunburst Adventures enough and I hope to make it back there again. read more

Cody and Alex were the best!!! We did the ATV tour and three of us were newbies on the vehicles. They make sure you understand how to maneuver and work the machine before you get started. Aside from the fun terrain, we saw some wildlife as we went. We did two stops: the first was near a platform. We climbed up and had a great view of the vistas. Cody gave some background of the area and pointed out some landmarks. Next stop was near a feeding zoo. We got a chance to feed some animals (mules, goats, emu and llamas). We got to do some ax throwing (Alex is the best coach!) and a short zip line as well. It was tons of fun and would definitely do it again on our next trip to Helen. Thanks again to Alex and Cody! The guide was very self conscious about the rocks and tree limbs- she was constantly removing them from the trail. We had a couple trot opportunities on the horses. read more

Did the ATV guided tour in the morning and zip lining in the afternoon on Monday! Both adventures lived up to their names! Exciting trails with our guide Levi led us right into our zip lining adventure with 3 great guides, Adam and his partners were excellent with making sure we knew what we were doing and were safe! The zip lines were very exciting and much better than the last ones we did because these are hands free! So much more fun than when you're responsible for stopping yourself, you think of nothing but flying through the air and enjoying the ride! Thanks Sunburst for hiring such great people! Highly highly recommend this place!! Worth the drive from Atlanta (maybe 90 mins max). First impressions are EVERYTHING so when we walked in and were informed we can hang out in the stables until our ATV tour guide was ready, we did not mind one bit as the horses are beautiful and the stables are clean. This was our LUCKY DAY because we got Mark, one of the owners of this amazing place and his instruction and tutorial session before our tour (heavily focused on safety which was impressive as their ATVs are NOT TOYS....these are not golf carts) was top notch!! These are much more powerful and the best ATVs ever!! The scenery and trails were beautiful and the animal farm along the way was a pleasant surprise. Throughout the tour, we felt safe and secure because we had two guides to make sure all went well. Please know that these trails are not flat and boring. There are inclines and curves and more but if you practice safety first, a fun time shall be your reward. If you don't feel comfortable after the tutorial, you may just ride in the UTV that follows the same trail but you're just a passenger enjoying the same views. I can't wait to return for more ATV'ing and to try the zip lining and probably stay a few nights in one of their cabins. Best "mudlife" crisis adventure ever!! Oh and the customer service from the time we made our appointment to the time we showed up in the office to be welcomed by an amazing staff was OUTSTANDING!!! My wife and I were spending the weekend in Helen & came out to Sunburst for the Adventure kayak with peddle kayaks (so cool) & the hike to Mini Haha falls. We started out by hanging out on their beautiful farm & seeing all the horses. Then we look out over the pond and see this incredible bird (an Osprey).. Off to the lake as passengers in a very comfortable van while Mark gave us the tour of the area - talking about the history - the geography and explaining the waterway we would be on, while towing the Kayaks behind us. They put the kayaks in the water at the start of the lake & we were able to just peddle down at our own pace, allowing the current to take us when we wanted & peddle when we wanted to go faster. They never once rushed us, just let us go at our own leisurely pace while we marveled at the beautiful sites. Quite a ways down the lake, we pulled off and they helped us out of the kayaks to start our nice hike to the mini haha falls. What a beautiful site!!! Absolutely amazing and I am incapable of describing it properly. We stayed here for a few minutes, conversing and had a snack & water. Then back in the Kayaks to the boat landing where we took the Van back the farm. The trip was easy, pleasant, pleasurable, interesting and educational. Mark and his guides took care of everything, and we could just relax. We can't wait to go back for the zip lines, horses & ATVs!! read more

We did the UTV for a family of 4. Levi was the guide and was really knowledgeable and personal. I do think the price is a little heavy for what you get - this was supposed to be a 'scenic' tour but there wasn't much scenery as it's simply on a trail through the woods. Nonetheless it was fun. Great experience! I booked the 2 hour Family Adventure horseback riding for 8 y.o. and I. Each of us had our own horse and had a guided, woods trot through the estate. My friend had her 5 y.o. ride tandem. In the middle of the tour, we took a break and got a lunchables snack, got to do a little fishing and a forged horseshoe souvenir. The boys loved it. We had such a blast doing the Atv tour. We were slightly hesitant because it's a guided tour and we are used to going fast, but it was perfect speed for the trail. We stopped at what is basically a petting zoo with pigs, goats, llamas, and an emu. Totally unexpected but made the experience even better.
