This is an excellent place full of great people and interesting activities. My family had a wonderful time.

Yesterday my family attended the 2-hour horse ride and it was not a good experience. 2 families, 6 total riders Lead by 1 female. You guys made some poor and unprofessional decisions beginning with 1) putting the "fast" horses behind the slow ones. This caused the horses in the back to become impatient, and irritable to the point of biting the ones in front of them, and bucking. Why on earth did you put the children LAST?? NOT cool with my 12 year old daughter almost thrown from the horse. 2) we noticed you don't offer a refund if a person is unable to attend (due to sickness). since it won't be for a long time that we would return, i'm not sure that's fair by any means. there should be circumstances that you understand our situation and grant us $150 back to our account. 3) Tips? When booking you will be prompted to tip. What has the world come to, every one wants a tip now. If our family is already paying $600 to ride horses and you want 20%? Wow. How about we pay for the experience then EXPECT kindness and customer service? What do you expect without a tip, to treat us poorly? read more

We booked the 2 hour zip lining tour and loved it. We were a group of five, three of which had never zip lined before. It was a great time for all. Staff was knowledgeable and friendly. We will book with Sunburst again next time we are in the area. read more

Amazing spot!!! The horses all looked healthy and well taken care of which is the most important thing to note. I did the two hour mountain horse back ride and it was amazing!! The views were lovely and we even spotted some deer. My favorite thing about this place is that they allow the horses to trot and canter which was very fun, especially since it's difficult to find places that will allow you to do this. Guide was also very nice and held great conversation! Overall had an amazing time and I'll be returning. read more

If you love horses, this is the place to go! Had a nice one hour ride through the woods and the guide was great! The horses are well taken care of and wish I would have done the 2 hour trail ride! Before you go on the trail ride, they go over basic information on how to handle the horse for those who are not familiar and the guide was always checking to make sure everyone was caught up. They know their horses and if some happens to have some quirks, they look out for it. My horse liked to bloat his stomach out when being fitting for a saddle. The guide let me know this before we even started and we only had to have it adjusted once. If I ever come back down this way, I am definitely coming back and doing a two hour ride! read more

Starting with the good, Levi, one of our guides, was great. As for the experience itself, it was super lame. Definitely not worth the price we paid. It would be great for small children, but not for adults. At the very beginning of the tour, we realized this wasn't for us. When we asked the owner if there was another option, he became very rude to say the least. He snapped at us that there were no refunds or exchanges. We probably should have seen it coming because in the initial speech he gives to all groups, he spoke negatively about other customers. He seems very bitter. I understood, after going through the tour, why the aforementioned customers acted how they did. The trip was an extraordinary exercise in patience. If you enjoy sitting on an atv in the woods sandwiched between a line of atv's while breathing fumes for extended periods of time, this may be the tour for you. The tour, advertised as 2 hours, was actually about 53 minutes and we crawled through the trail at kiddie hayride speed. Then, for no reason, we stopped at a petting zoo and to throw hatchets for 30 minutes. I'll give one star for Levi, but he was the only redeeming part of this experience. read more

Had a lovely time zip lining here! The guides were super friendly and funny, they kept cracking jokes and kept up a lively stream of conversation while we waited for the group to finish the line. The lines were really fun and exciting. I especially liked the one that went over the lake. Would definitely come back and try their other activities!! read more

My daughter and I had the most wonderful time riding ATV vehicles and zip lining. Mark did a tremendous job explaining all aspects of riding the ATV and providing safety tips while also remaining quite funny. Becky was gracious enough to grant a discount that we did not already know about at the time of booking. Austin and Carson were exceptional guides through both activities and inserted their own jokes throughout the way to make the activities fun and funny. Not to mention the tasty Italian Ice, which were treats along the way. I would definitely suggest taking a trip to Clarkesville to participate in all the activities that Sunburst has to offer! Sunburst was great! I was VERY scared to ride a horse, like terrified. They reassured me it was safe and I'd be just fine. The guide rode in front of me the whole time. She was fantastic. Side note: I had three 9 year olds with me and they were just fine. The ride throughout the property is great. Grounds are pretty. Guides are nice. Stable was clean. Good first horse riding, Price is bit high for Georgia area. +ive they were available and trip went well. Could be better. - Guide rode pretty far away from a group of 4 of us, was distracted with training a newbie guide, for the money we paid as a group, they could have put 2 good guides to play. - We asked for more freedom for gallop, etc, but looks like it is a "for kiddies" so horses are trained too well to follow in a narrow line kind of boring after 10' of one hour. Would have been better if they took them on meadows available on farm and allowed more control and training, Would have helped/ - They are very inflexible for a small group - ideally we would have done ziplining also - The timings were very rigid, what does 10am mean when we are the only customers on a Monday before school ends? Also, total time took was nearly 2 hours for only 45' actual ride. So negotiate a personalized experience if you want adult horse riding, or find something else. read more

Family of four, two teen boys, visited Sunburst from Upstate NY. We were looking for a days adventure beyond fishing and hiking on this particular day, Sunburst didn't disappoint. The four of us took the ATV trip with the guides and it was a total blast!!! Novice's on the ATV our hearts raced and we got to explore the incredible property of Sunburst, there's even some gold mining history and an adorable farm experience. Before heading out we had a wonderful lesson on how to ride that gave us confidence on some really fun steep inclines and declines. I would highly recommend this location for your ATV adventure! read more

Wow - what an adventure! Levi ( very funny) and John were both extremely kind, making our group feel more than welcomed. There were multiple stops, which allowed our group to take pictures and stretch out. All in all 10/10 recommended the tour. read more

I went on a trail last July with some friends that were from out of town. I paid for the 1 hour tour, and I got to ride Traveler. I am a local, when people come visit my family and want to do horseback riding we will come to this stable again. Our trail guides were the sons of the owners, and they were excellent. They were super friendly and I had some great conversations. Traveler was super docile. The animals are all friendly, and the trails are beautiful. read more

We literally just left and had a wonderful time! The staff went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable on our horses. Our tour guide, Cody, was very kind and super helpful. He provided lots of cool information on the area. Please bring cash as they do allow for tips and we had just used our last bit of cash. These guys deserve It. It started to rain within minutes of our departure. Within 10 minutes of our departure it was thundering and pouring down rain. Then within 20 minutes of our departure there was hail. We were brought to a cabin and were very upset. We wanted to go back to our car in the parking lot,but were told by the owner (or employee) that we "must ride the horses back because there was no one to bring it back". It was not safe because there was still terrible weather. When my husband insisted that the man take us back, he said for us to get in the truck. When I replied thank you very much, he said "you are not welcome"! He had four people from Florida on horses in the mountains slipping on mud with thunder and hail with pouring down rain, shivering and freezing - and he wanted us to ride horses back another 30 minutes. I highly recommend avoiding this place with all costs! They couldn't care less about the people - they just wanted our money! I would give zero stars if I could. read more

My husband and I went ATV and horseback riding here and it was amazing! Most placed don't let you gallop or run with horses, but this place offers that and it really makes a difference. The ATV rides up and down the mountain were really fun too! The guides and staff are very friendly, would highly recommend this place and we will definitely be going back. read more

I really like Sunburst Stables. The first time I went there was to zip line. Very good intro course. Being a horse person I had to wander through the barn and meet the horses. I was very impressed with the temperament of the horses they had. They also do a good job in rotating the horses so they aren't waiting with a saddle on all day. I've been back to ride twice and had a great time both times. I'm heading there later today for a ride. I recommend Sunburst when anyone asks where they can ride. read more

I had went to the Sunburst Stables on my birthday and I will have to say that their grounds were very impressive though it was in March and it was foggy that morning. Never have I been treated like a valuable asset to the business. Their staff was outstanding and very, very professional. I have respiratory issues and the staff made sure that I was able to participate in the Zip lines, they were all so patient with me and kept a check for any breathing issues that could have happened. one of the two staff members carried my inhaler in the event it was needed. I can't remember having so much fun for an old man. I have been and will continue to recommend this business to my family and friends and any others that are looking for a fun filled day. I am currently working on making plans for another visit for my birthday this coming year. Keep am eye out for the unexpected creature in the lake as you zip over it. As good as it gets. Family owned and operated; providing jobs to the locals; Loved sleeping on the porch in the Wildwood Cabin, overlooking the horses, and warming in the hot tub after activities. VERY Safety Oriented. Mark completes an introduction to driving ATV's and has you qualify through a driving course before going out on the trail. The Zip Lines are AMAZING! 9 of them, and no work for you. The staff hooks you up for each, topped with a sense of corny humor for the entertainment of all. One small child, who had begged her Ma to go zip lining, froze up on line 1. The staff had a back up to retrieve her from the full course. However, due to the encouragement of Sunburst's Staff, the child completed ALL the other 8 lines. And it was Total Fun. Terrified at first, I was Upside-Down and crashing through water before the end. I was able to go hiking at one of the closely located state parks. And my mother and I spent the afternoon in Helen being tourists (although Clarksville would have been as satisfying). I appreciated the opportunity to stay at Sunburst. If you need glitz, don't go here. If you need peace, with a little fun-Perfect Spot. read more
