I booked a self guided kyaking trip with this awesome outfitter today for my Mom's 70th birthday. We arrived early so got to get on the river early. The staff were nice and knowledgeable. They helped me get in my kayak with my dog and then helped my Mom get into hers. The Toccoa River is mostly a calm river, with just a couple little rapids and sometimes a current picks up a little. My beagle friend enjoyed riding with me and got to swim a bit too. Mom saw a beaver. We both saw a family of geese. It was a beautiful, seamless experience kind of day! And most importantly, Mom LOVED it.

Husband and I booked the self guided 6 mile trip on a whim, and were down the river in the next few hours. Extremely friendly and helpful staff / owners, who obviously love what they do. The water was high, so it took us a little shy of 2 hours to get to our end point. Wonderful views and peaceful float! The "rapids" are not bad, and could easily be done by a teen. Younger children may have trouble controlling in the current. They pick you up and bring you back safely in a bus, as you depart from where you park. Bathrooms and changing area are provided and clean! Highly recommend for everyone who loves the outdoors and serenity of floating down a river!! 10/10! You won't regret it!!!

my friends and i stopped by here a couple of days ago during our cabin trip and had a great time renting kayaks from them! everyone we encountered there was super helpful and friendly. we highly recommend renting from them! we even met the cutest and happiest dog!

Toccoa River...great for beginners and experienced alike. #blueridgekayaking

They have their own launch area right on site. The trip is worth the money. They can accommodate large parties and the staff is friendly and hardworking. Changing stations and bathrooms are clean. Also, buy their blueberry honey, it is local and super rich. Highly recommend!

Only place open for kayaking on a beautiful 45* April morning. The owners were so nice and helpful and we had the river all to ourselves (because we were crazy for kayaking in 45* weather of course). Several low spots where we got a little stuck, but made the trip more interesting. Took about 3hrs to complete 6mi. Highly recommend this place!

Beautiful river, scenery, and accommodating staff. We got lost in the way there and they were very helpful and nice about the small delay.

I have rented kayaks many times before, mostly in Florida, so a river with any rapids at all was new to me.

The scenery was incredible, and the rapids provided just the right mix of thrills and fun. Our guide, Tito, was outstanding. He kept us entertained with great commentary throughout the trip, made us feel safe and confident on the river, and added so much energy and enthusiasm to the experience. It's mid-October so the pricing wasn't peak pricing and at $40/person. My GPS glitched and turned us around a couple times so we made it just in time. We were given the safety briefing after checking in. Then we got our gear and got on the bus to get to the river. Our small group of 5 got to raft with James. He was phenomenal! James is so much like my husband's family where he can joke with a straight face and you don't know if it's a joke or not. James did an amazing job of guiding us and leading us down the Ocoee. Several in our group had never been whitewater rafting before. Everyone had a great time! It was truly amazing. Thank you so much for memories we won't ever forget!

It had a coupon for $12 off!! We called on Tuesday night about 7:45 (they closed at 9) and talked to Teresa who was able to schedule our foursome for a trip at 2:00 on Wednesday. She was so helpful and gave us some tips for travel to Hartford. Once we got there we checked in with a very competent and thorough young lady. We took a short bus ride to the "put in" point. On the 10 minute ride some of the guides performed fun comedic routines which kept us from thinking about how hot we were on a bus with no AC ( except open windows), decked out in life jackets and helmets while holding our paddles upright. :-) We got paired with a river rafting guide named Brantley. He gave us great paddling instructions before we even entered the raft. Since we had all been river rafting before, he explained that the trick to having a more exciting trip is to synchronize your paddle strokes. We had a great time with Brantley. We truly appreciate his concern for our "fun factor" and especially our safe trip down the river.
