My husband and I took three of our kids (13, 14, 18) rafting for some family fun. Upon arriving at the river I was quite intimidated by the size of the rapids! However, our guide, AP, took incredible care of our family!!!! He could tell two of my kids were rather nervous and tailored our ride accordingly. We still had an incredible time and went through some rough water!, BUT we always felt safe. When we go back next summer, which we will because it was so fun, we will definitely ask for AP again!!! read more

So much fun! We came with a group of 8 so we had to split into two separate rafts due to each only holding 6 people but it was kind've like a fun little race! The guides were funny and you can tell they have a great time working with one another. Photos are taken while you're going through one portion of the River and are available to purchase afterwards. I got to "ride the bull" and failed horrendously. Sorry, Marco! They also have a nice changing area and gift shop to change into dry clothes afterwards. Make sure you wear water shoes! read more

We went with David. No one checked our equipment. We had a 13 year old child in the boat and he consistently yelled at her about how she couldn't paddle. He took us though humongous, a rapid that was made for the Olympics. My parents guided on the salmon river and the snake river and did the river race on the Mississippi regularly, I have never met a guide more unprepared. He didn't check our equipment, he couldn't pull my 100 pound friend out of the rapid. He was unprepared in every way and he almost killed a 13 year old child. I love this river and the lower Ocoee is beautiful but I would not recommend this company. There was a 13 year old child in the water and David wouldn't let her mom check her eyes to see if she had a concussion after she hit her head on a rock. He was being very weird towards my friend and the whole experience was just gross. If you go on this trip and you haven't paddled in white water before I would suggest the lower oceee. If you have kids and you end up with David ask for someone else. read more

Rafted the middle section of the Ocoee River with guide TJ, he has been rafting the river for more than 30 years. You can tell that his experience makes a big difference when it comes to navigating the river and understanding the currents and how to direct us during the rafting. This was an excellent and fun experience, would definitely come back to raft the full river. Next time, (and there will be a next time) I would wear my bathing suit with shorts over it- it's not a matter of if, it's a matter of when you will get soaked! Nice restrooms at facility prior to heading to the river. Great activity for families. read more

To be honest, when I agreed to go I thought we were floating down a river. Drinking beers and hanging out. 2 days before the trip I found out that was not exactly what we were doing. Already committed so I'm going. We did the upper and middle. Nerves were at an all time high. It got even worse when the guide was giving us the low down at the put in point. Complete anxiety attack. We had David as our guide. He was the best! Absolutely hilarious. He also knows this river like the back of his hand. Although there were definite moments of intense fear, I felt safe. He made sure we had the adventure that everyone hopes for when they sign up for this trip. If you're looking for a boring trip down the river, this isn't your river and David isn't your guy. I would 100% do it again but only if David is my guide! Absolutely epic. read more

My grandson had just turned 13. I am 68. He was very nervous; I was very apprehensive. The other 2 in our group were in their early 50's. I was determined to do this, and I was determined my grandson was, too. We had the most kind and considerate guide, Zach. We saw some incidents I was happy to not be a part of. Awesome time. We took the upper and middle trip. Our guide John P was the best. He kept it interesting, provided some local knowledge of the river and made sure we got as wet as possible. He is an excellent guide. There are no negatives to this trip. I didn't really need any kind of bug spray it was sunny and 92 but you're in and out of the shade so didn't really have any big chance to get sunburned, water felt nice and cool.....everybody was excellent to deal with from sign in right through purchasing your pictures at the end. The locker rooms were clean and better-than-expected... Raft naked it will give you rosey cheeks!! We will definitely go back again. KB read more

One cup of coffee, a two hour car ride, and we're going white water rafting? My enthusiasm was evidently lacking, but as part of my best friend's bachelor weekend I made it a point to act enthralled. Ducktown, Tennessee - aka the land of no cell phone reception. We arrived at the site, where signatures were required, documents were written up, and gear was passed out to us trailblazers. After a generic rules/safety speech by Matt (our impending guide), about 40 of us hopped on a school bus and drove 15 minutes to the Ocoee River. The next two hours on the five and a half mile trail weren't a blur, but more like a surreal experience. One where I couldn't fathom the beauty of the river, the expertise of our guide and the fact I was actually white water rafting all at once. Matt had us go over our responsibilities before we hit the water: paddling techniques, safety instructions and how to respond to his commands. And I think we did a fairly good job at following them, except for the "lean left" call. There's just so much I can say, I could truly compose a novel of our adventure. The dips, the turns, the ferocity of the Rapids, the crispness of the water, the smiles on our faces - I will always remember this experience. Matt's incredible knowledge of the Ocoee and his rafting talents made for a remarkable journey. We all had an outstanding time and we were surely wiped out the following day. I can't believe I'm 47 years old and had never been whitewater rafting before!! This was one of the most wonderful experiences of my life. The scenery was beautiful, the trip itself was thrilling, and what really made it extra special was our guide, David. As someone who creates magical experiences for a living, I can tell you that David and his passion for what he does truly elevated our overall experience. Let me just start off by saying... there are a ton of other options in the area, but I would HIGHLY recommend this company. The booking process was easy, they chatted with me on Facebook (great social media customer service, guys!) answering all of my questions and made me feel extremely comfortable with the trip before I even got there. The facilities were super nice! The bathrooms were really clean, large and had plenty of room for people to shower/change, etc. The check in process was easy. About fifteen minutes before your trip time, they let you check in. You fill out the waiver and then hang out for just a few minutes. They call your group time and you get the paddle, helmet and life jacket. Someone then calls out your group name and let's you know who your guide is. Then you get on the bus for the short trip over to the river drop in. Our guide, Emily, was THE BEST. She made the entire trip so much more fun. I highly highly highly recommend being her raft if you can be. She has been there, I believe, 9 years. She really knows her stuff. I felt extremely safe with her. She warned you on areas that may be a bit more dangerous, advised us on what to do if we were to fall out at different parts, etc. I was quite nervous as it had been some time since I had gone rafting, but felt awesome after the first few minutes of being in the raft with her. She was knowledgeable about the river, history of the area and had a lot of other neat facts she shared. Our group was fantastic and I was so thankful that we got paired up with two awesome couples. We did the full river, which had a stop about halfway where they served granola bars and bottles of water. It was very much appreciated. I would recommend wearing lots of sunscreen and not forgetting your knees! (I got sunburned on my quads and knees!) Wear closed toed shoes, not sandals or flip flops. I wore water shoes and they were perfect. They show you the pictures at the end, that they took throughout the river. You are able to purchase the picture on site when you get back, but they are also offered on their website. There is a tip box at the outpost that you are able to tip your guide. They do not share/split tips, so keep that in mind! I highly recommend this company to anyone looking for a fantastic rafting experience. read more

Simply one of the best times in my life with amazing people. The booking on the website was pretty self explanatory. The direction on our GPS took us directly there. When we arrived it was a beautiful cabin style lodge. But they will not let you check in until you're booking time. The doors were locked. The place has beautiful clean restrooms and bathrooms. There was nothing at the place to eat or snack so eat before you raft. Our appointment time was at 12:30p.m and by the time everyone checked in and finally got in the water it was almost 2. Our instructor Alex was amaze balls very patient and thorough with directions. We had sooo much fun. The clean establishment and awesome instructors made it better. We had a great time and definitely will consider coming back. The river was cleaned the rafts were clean the only thing was the life jackets had a horrible smell could use a scrub down or wash. They supply Helmets and everything you need to raft. Plenty of parking. And prices were reasonable for an amazing experience. read more

We had SO much fun rafting with Ocoee Rafting! We had two groups go with guides Tim and Avery who were both fantastic! Our groups had different risk levels and they each tailored the trip so each boat would be comfortable and have fun. We did the Full river trip which took total about 5.5 hours and they provide water and cliff bars between the upper and middle sections. The middle section of the river was more action packed and fun in my opinion, so if you are looking for a shorter day I would just do the middle! We would recommend this for anyone looking for an adventure!! read more

I've gone rafting on solid III/IV courses but this was my first IV/V trip. Even being an experienced whitewater rafter I was intimidated when I saw how fast the river was flowing and since it's a dam release it's full of trees and strainers, but our guide, John J put us right at ease. He was very experienced and clearly knew the river well, which enabled him to let us have a lot of fun (we surfed some waterfalls til the boat was almost at a 90 degree angle and he let us ride the bull in several spots), but he knew exactly how to maneuver around the more treacherous areas and gave us warning when we needed to take extra care not to fall out. The scenery is breathtaking and I am seriously considering going in the fall with a wetsuit and splash guard. The river was perfectly refreshing temperature-wise even though it was cloudy out, but I was wearing neoprene socks and dive gloves. I would definitely recommend this experience to anyone who wants an adrenaline rush and has some experience on the water! read more

We had a beautiful day and the rapids were awesome. Alex made me feel really confident and informed in the water- what was coming next, how to paddle it - and really connected with all of us as a group and individually. Story time and tall tales made things funny! We will definitely request him on our next visit. SOON, because I can't wait to come back! NEGLIGENT!!!!! FLIPPED RAFT, INJURIES; BEWARE!!!!! This should be illegal. We all know the risks when we sign the waiver. I know and understand this. I hope this review serves as a warning to go with another company. If I could give a zero, I would. PURE NEGLIGENCE. It's Labor Day weekend, it rained yesterday and apparently (we didn't know, first time rafting) the water was too high. We called 2 other companies and they were closed. This company, Ocoee Rafting said they had sent 300 people out today. Once we hit the water, 3 seconds later the raft hit a rock and flipped completely. Everyone was thrown out of the raft. My sister in law was drowning, stuck under the raft. My other sister in law, was also taking in too much water, she had to be held up by her brother who received injuries on his back from this. The guide "Strat" told my sister in law, while she was choking on water holding onto a rock for dear life to "just relax" as he floated down the river. The owner said this has not happened yet this year. LIES LIES LIES, as we getting to our cars, the group members are crying from being so shaken up. Two women with 4 children approached us and asked if we were ok. The reason they were still here we found out was because they were waiting for the other half of their group to get back from rafting. The OTHER HALF was RUSHED to the ER, 40 minutes ago from another raft flipping and ripping up someone's hand to the bone. PICK ANOTHER COMPANY, THIS COMPANY IS NEGLIGENT. They wouldn't even drive us back after we got off the raft at a straight eddy. We had to beg the bus driver to take us back to our cars as none of us had phones or anything to patch our wounds. I went here and did the Middle Section with my cousin and my mom. Since we only had 3 we were partnered up with another group of 3, and at first I was iffy about it but our guide named REID made the ride SUPER SUPER SUPER FUN!! She was really patient with our boat and made sure that we had fun even though at first our boat was struggling to paddle.
