First time rafter here. Some friends and I booked a weekend trip. We only did the half river package which wasn't expensive at around $46 per person. When we arrived at the rafting center, it was way better than I expected. There were a lot of areas to relax whether that be on the wooden steps, covered tables, or grassy open area while you wait for leaving time. The building looked new with a cabin like feel. Our guide was Bill. He definitely seemed like one of the really fun guides out there. We asked for a wild time and he took us down some pretty fun routes. He even has a spot on the river named after him because he broke his nose there. Rafting was definitely more fun than I thought. It's not for the faint of heart though. If you haven't rafted before, I suggest beginning with half of the river through this rafting company! When you arrive back at the rafting center, they have very nice bathroom facilities with hot showers! There's a reason this place is a 5/5 on yelp! Keep on doing well! read more

Came here today for my first whitewater rafting experience. I was thoroughly impressed with this company. They were timely and had everything very organized. Bo was our tour guide and he was awesome!!! I felt 100% safe with him as our guide and really enjoyed his humor. For those who have never gone white water rafting before my first impressions: there was a lot less paddling than I thought they would be and it kind of reminded me of those old log water rides at amusement parks (except the fact that you could fall out and hurt yourself). However you're always wearing lifevest and helmets for your safety. I'm definitely excited to come back another time to do it again! And I may be a bit more adventurous next time with getting out of the raft! read more

Best white water rafting day. This company is so professional from start to finish. Their location is super with the nicest restroom/ shower and changing area I have ever seen at a recreation location. The day was perfectly organized from check-in, to the bus ride to the river start, to all instructions and guidance by the guides. Sage who was our boat gide was excellent!! She really knows her stuff! She's entertaining too! I would not hesitate to go back again to raft. I actually think we will do the 5 mile day trip that they offer in the near future. My only pet peeve was if you use a credit card for purchase under $50. they charge a $2. service fee. I don't like being nickeled and dined! I spent more then $50. but with two different purchasing and had to pay the fee. read more

Wish I had never come here!! We only got a few seconds in before hitting a huge rock and being flipped onto our side, I was in the middle and watched the 2 people in front of me fall out of the water filled boat, the rest of us had to hold on for our lives. We waited 40 minutes half in the boat and half in the water for someone to come help us, a few workers came with a rope and tried to pull us back, it took around 20 minutes for us to finally get off the rock and we all tried to help pull while also trying not to fall off the boat into the raging water. All 4 of us were smushed into the smallest part of the boat sitting on each others laps. When we got unstuck we were forced to continue for another 10 minutes before we were able to exit the boat and had to walk along the road for another 10 minutes before getting back to the bus. 1 of the people who fell out was covered in scraps and had swallowed so much water they threw up 4 times, the other person who fell out broke their rib while being pulled back into another boat. We got 10 seconds of rafting in before our whole trip was turned into a traumatic experience, when we talked to the manager about a refund she was NOT apologetic at all, we had to fight for a partial refund. UPDATE-- The manager called and apologized and gave us a full refund. read more

I have been white water rafting four times before this last trip. Wild Bill was hands down the best guide I have ever had the pleasure of trusting with my life! He made the entire trip fun, explaining everything and remembering all of our names within the first 2 minutes! (I've had teachers struggle with remembering my name so this was really impressive!) All of the guides were extremely quick getting us out to the river and back to our cars. Thanks for that! The lady working the picture counter was super nice and friendly, definitely finished our experience on a high note! Bathrooms were top notch and the deck was a great spot to wait to go out to the river! The only negative happened at the beginning. We arrived an hour early (time zone change messed us up a bit), and that is apparently a bit frowned upon. Not a huge deal, but we were told that we would have to use the restrooms somewhere else- not ideal. read more

I really didn't know anything about rafting companies in this area. We recently purchased a log cabin in Mineral Bluff, and this company is a short drive from there and Blue Ridge...anyway, my adventurous kids were visiting for the weekend and wanted to do something fun. This place is organized to a "T". It actually amazed us how quickly they get everyone signed up, consents signed, and onboard a bus, gear in hand, to the launch site. This was all great, but actually, our guide Brett was the icing on the cake! He looks like a hippy mountain man, and trust me, this guy knows what he's doing! He was so incredibly knowledgeable about the area, and gave us a running verbal documentary about it! This man delivered an awesome, exhilarating experience! When the mama in me asked to slow it down a bit, he did, albeit much to my kids chagrin. He had some buddies in rafts around us named Yak and some guy that went by "Squid". They both seemed like they knew what they were doing, but my bets are on Brett. If you go, you can request him. You will not be disappointed! read more

Brought family from out of town and we had a GREAT time! Our guide DAWSON was very skilled, informative, polite and took care of the kids on our trip (including a young but brave girl who rode the front of the raft like a champ). Just the right amount of thrill and safety we were looking for. The facility looks very new - changing area is great (should have thought to bring shower items). I wish they had a way to post Venmo for our guide or perhaps alerted people to bring cash for tips when you reserve your trip. They have an ATM but it charges a hefty $4.00 fee to use it - and I generally don't carry an ATM card (daughter used hers before our out of town guests realized they didn't have anything either - I think they are trying to get Dawsons Venmo!). One other suggestion - make the picture purchases a little more reasonable! I would have spent $10-$15 on one digital photo but the only option is to spend $42 for all of them so that was disappointing. Also have to agree with a previous poster about the check-in experience. Not the friendliest person at the front desk. We loved our bus driver - he was funny and put on quite a ride on his own. Go visit this rafting company and ask for Dawson as your guide if you have younger kids! read more

We went rafting on the Ocoee middle River on Oct 11th. It was awesome. Our raft pilot was Ben (aka "Toast"). He was a great guide, many years of experience and was able to show us a lot of safe exciting rapids it what was a huge amount of water in the river folllowing the heavy rains.
