MUST DO!! My entire crew absolutely loved the exhilarating trip - even though some were hesitant due to a past boring/cold rafting experience! The facilities were located only about 15 minutes away from the drop off spot. The staff was knowledgeable and informed us adequately about the trip. The facilities were clean - especially the nice bathrooms (10/10)!! The guides were hilarious and we felt really safe even going through the class 3-4 rapids. It was cold but most of the time I was having too much fun to notice. And we rented jackets that helped. I bought water shoes because you need shoes that strap. First time rafting and I am very happy I chose Ocoee rafting. I am 46 years old and I wish I would have done so many years earlier. This was one of the best adventures yet that I have done and I intend to do it every year here on it. The Ocoee rafting company in my opinion is truly a customer oriented company. They have very fun guides who all make it a point to give their customers a good time, I could not recommend them more. My guide was Andrew(Andy) and he was 100% about letting us determine how loco we wanted to go. I went by myself because I couldn't find any others that had guts to give it a go so I joined a party of five I didn't know. Lucky for me 2 of the 5 wanted to send it every bit as much as I did so we did repeat paddles into drop off trying to tip the boat. He mentioned bits of history about the river too which was great to know how the river has regrown from all of the mining done there and the destruction it had there for many years. So with everything being stated I intend to go back here many times and will request Andy again so long as he is there. Unfortunately I think he has created a rafting junkie as I am already looking at going again and its already mid Sept when I went. Lastly, travelers please remember to tip your guides. If they are good and you really enjoyed it tip them extra good they have given you a lot of fun for 5 hours of their time and yours, they earned it. read more

This was an awesome experience to be remembered. You meet at the base location to sign waivers and review needed information. You must wear watershoes, and they sell them there. No need to buy beforehand. We did, and found them cheaper here. From there you are driven via bus to the launch site. Our guide was great and laid back, but we felt safe at all times. Many rafts launch at once, but once you get going, they is a good distance between each raft. The guide would talk to us and ask us if we wanted to try hard rapids or sometimes go around when possible. There was even a section where one person could "ride the bull" aka sit on the tip of the front of the raft and ride it like a bull. My husband did it, and we have pictures to remember the moment. I don't think I ever laughed so hard as when the water came rushing over him. I would do this again in a heartbeat. read more

This was our first time to the area, and I picked them on a whim. Let me just say, this was by far, the highlight of our trip! Booking was streamlined and simple, the people are fantastic. Our guide was Carlie and she was very fun and knowledgeable of the river and the surroundings. We felt at ease with the entire process. I would do it again in a heartbeat! Absolutely awesome!!! These folks do rafting right! All of the local companies use the same course but it's all about the people. Our family of three easily booked online and got all necessary information for the tour. When we showed up we found a first-class pristine facility staffed with great people. We went down the middle river with Dickey as our guide. Best rafting trip ever!!!!!! We have been down the Ocoee and the Pigeon river before. My husband has done several other rivers and he says that Dickey made this trip down the Ocoee the best rafting trip he has ever been on. This is going going to be our go to ocoee outfitter/guide!!!!!! The bathrooms at the outpost could only be compared to a 5 star hotel. I am not kidding. Marble countertops, separate showers, and spotless. The porch is a great place for relaxing. Best ocoee rafting place in all of ocoee rafting land. read more

Fantastic facilities, equipment and staff. Cleanest restrooms and changing area I have seen. I highly recommend doing the full Olympic run. July and August are perfect. Do not raft with this company! Not all, but many of the rafting guides have been known to "accidentally" knock all of their rafters out of the boat! While this gets guides fired from many companies, the Ocoee Rafting company hires these guides. I witnessed first hand a guide that had been fired from Rolling Thunder river company for purposefully spilling people out of their boats but claiming it was an accident, knocking people out of the boat with this company! For a safer ride, choose a different white water rafting company. read more

This place is absolutely horrible. They included in our confirmation email that we needed to wear "shirts." Apparently a tank top is not a shirt. That was not noted or explained in the confirmation email. There was no definition for "shirt." Many people were outside wearing tank tops because the information was not clear. The staff had no sympathy and said that we could not get a refund and had to pay $21 for their ugly t-shirts at the store. I've been white water rafting many times and I have never heard of such an absurd rule. This is just a ploy to sell more shirts. read more

Rafted the upper and lower ocoee this weekend with this company. Had a great adventure! Chris Hyde was our guide and he was very knowledgeable and fun. I realized after we were finished that I trusted him completely and never once felt in danger. He really catered to our group and our need for excitement! There are so many rafting companies in the area (25+ maybe??) - this company is pretty large, so they have it down to a science. The guest/welcome center is clean and large and has nice new bathrooms and full showers. The staff is pleasant and helpful. The rafting trip itself was well-managed and super fun - the guides do a pretty good job of gauging the "adventurous-ness" of their individual passengers so that everyone is happy. We did their package deal (rafting + ziplining) and that made our trip even more fun - two adventures in one! Getting there using GPS is a challenge - we had Google maps and Garmin going in addition to printed directions from the rafting company website, and we still got turned around. LEAVE EXTRA TIME FOR FINDING IT WHEN YOU ARE DRIVING THERE! read more
