I would only recommend this place for lunch,especially if you have kids and one a nice place to hang while they play. Decent salads and good pizza but dinner entrees are really weak. The food quality's gone down quite a bit over the years actually forgot about this place until a friend suggested we go there to meet after work. It was just as meh as the last time. They were out of the item we originally ordered, I got chicken piccata and the only flavor it had was salt, and lots of it. Service was attentive, I did ask for extra vegetable no mashed potatoes, but that request was not honored. I ended up being glad because I didn't eat the chicken and was glad to have something other than vegetables. Midweek prime dinner time and there was a party of eight, two parties of one and our table of two the entire time we were there. Pretty sad as I hate to see our standby restaurants struggle, if your food doesn't measure up, you're going to lose the locals. An amazing neighborhood Italian restaurant at this outdoor shopping mall. We sat outside which was relaxing on a nice sunny day. We decided on soup of the day, veggie pizza, young chicken and salmon special. Also sparkling water and iced tea. The food was light in big portions. It took 45 minutes to make the chicken and it was so delicious. More people came in for lunch and they seem to be regulars at this place. I can see why this little Italian place is popular here. So so good. Eggplant and Zucchini Parmigiana - absolutely amazing, we highly recommend getting this. Very flavorful, light and the perfect portion size for two to share. 10/10 Mains: My mom got the Spaghetti Carbonara - great portion size, lots of bacon, and the perfect balance of flavors. Margarita Pizza - I asked for extra well done crust and light cheese. This was cooked to perfection and so yummy. 10/10 recommend. Great location, great service and amazing food. But where the service went sideways is when a waiter asked if he could fill up our water, to my surprise instead of flat he brought a bottle similar to our waiter. Howeve? charged $24 dollars. Then we get to taking home the leftovers but I failed to confirm them and I did get my pizza. I called the restaurant and told the person what happened. He said, nothing we can do. I said your buss boy didn't put it in my bag. nothing I can do! I asked for the manager and the same person came back on the phone and said we can give you a half of pizza. Really! Tra di Noi is one of our favorite restaurants--a regular stop when we are in Malibu. The food is delicious, traditional, close to perfection Italian. The staff is welcoming and wonderful. We arrived late on a recent Saturday night, sure they were no longer seating. But the very attentive Luigi and delightful staff welcomed us with smiles. The restaurant has two lovely quiet patios surrounded by greenery with perfect lighting, umbrellas and heat on cool Malibu evenings as well as charming indoor seating. The patios overlook the central courtyard of the historical Malibu Country Mart where a playground entertains the children while adults can watch over them from the patio.
