    Roasted potatoes

This seaside restaurant has incredible ocean views. We've always had great food here, but on this visit it missed a beat. We've never seen it as busy as this visit and I will show them grace as they were completely full with graduates. Service by Austin and his associates was polished. My food was especially disappointing. The crab cake on the Benedict was flat as a pancake and barely warm, so were the roasted potatoes. The accompanying fruit was fresh. The salmon looked amazing, as did the scallops. Chicken piccata was a bit dry and didn't have much lemony flavor. This is a great location for a special occasion, but I'll keep in mind the possibility of a crowd affecting food quality.

Cute place to grab breakfast/brunch with a view in the heart of Malibu. We tried: jumbo coconut shrimp & lobster cobb salad this time. Jumbo coconut shrimp was probably the best coconut shrimp I've had. The lobster Cobb was also very good- a simple salad with fresh lobster on top. Valet parking only it's easy to miss the entrance. You might want to pay extra attention when you get close.

The appeal of Geoffrey's is the view that makes all your problems dissolve, and the buzz of comforting chatter. My party had made a reservation and had to wait about 15 minutes to be seated, which we spent at the bar. For such an upscale restaurant, the bar was underwhelming and had limited chairs. Highlights included a phenomenal lychee martini and the bread. May be a bit unfair of a rating, because other members of my party enjoyed their mains. As for mine, the paella was visually beautiful, but it did not taste as I expected. One unexpected moment was when my waiter lost my credit card. Although they tried to remedy the situation, it was very unprofessional, especially because I was traveling, and it put me out a bit. All in all, a decent evening, but the low points tend to linger longer than the high ones. I wouldn't rush back.

I went to Geoffrey's Malibu for brunch with my ex-boyfriend on Sunday March 19th, 2023. Before that, I had lunch here with my parents on June 13th, 2022 for Father's Day. And before that, I think I had visited here once a very long time ago. "At the beach, life is different. Time doesn't move hour to hour but mood to moment. We live by the currents, plan by the tides and follow the sun." - Sandy Gingras I love Malibu. I always love going to the beach, and I think I've been to Malibu more than 50 times. My ex-boyfriend used to live in Malibu. His house was right in front of Malibu Beach with a beautiful ocean view. He made a reservation at Geoffrey's Malibu and sent me an invitation link for Sunday brunch. Oh yeah... Geoffrey's Malibu is one of my favorite restaurants. Who doesn't love an ocean view? Haha. We also had a family brunch here last year on Father's Day. Geoffrey's is still the best, especially on a beautiful, clear, sunny day in Malibu. I had the seafood paella and a cappuccino, and my boyfriend had an omelette and a mimosa. The paella portion was very large, but honestly it wasn't that tasty. But the ocean view is absolutely lovely. (3/19/2023 - Sunday Brunch) I also came here with my parents for a Father's Day celebration. We had lunch here on Monday, June 13th, 2022. I took a day off that day, and it turned out to be such a great day. The view and the music created a wonderful ambiance. The atmosphere was perfect. The ocean view and the short walk to the beach were amazing. I especially loved the ocean-view seating. My dad had the crab cake eggs benedict, my mom had the tofu salad, and I had the chicken piccata with a strawberry lemonade. All of the food was good, but honestly I think the chicken piccata at The Cheesecake Factory is better. Oh... and the dessert, crème brûlée, was so good. This place is great for an upscale lunch or dinner with a beautiful ocean view. It was such a lovely time. (6/13/2022 - Monday Lunch) These are the reviews I originally wrote on my Instagram at the time. cf) My ex-boyfriend lived in Malibu with a beautiful ocean view, but sadly his house was destroyed in the wildfire in January 2025. He also passed away in October last year. It was an incredibly difficult time for me. I cried a lot, and for a long time I couldn't even look at the names of the restaurants we had visited together. It made me emotional and very sad. This is another place that holds many memories of my ex-boyfriend. Geoffrey's Malibu, along with Moon shadows, holds so many memories with my ex-boyfriend. Moon shadows was especially close to his house, so we went there very often. Sadly, it burned down due to the wildfire in January 2025. It's really heartbreaking to think about.

Scallops and risotto ( I dream of this dish lol)

Geoffrey's has been a special occasion go to for 30+ years and never disappoints. The food is amazing, the Malibu location is so beautiful it feels like a mini vacation and the service is always on point. My husband took me for my birthday last week and it was wonderful. We ordered past favorites- starting with their delicious tuna tartare and sharing the scallops and risotto along with the lobster cobb. If you haven't tried it- you are missing out big time.

Geoffrey's keeps its reputation for a reason. Everything from their service, food and of course, their view is outstanding. We had a beautiful time celebrating a family birthday where we had Angela as our waitress. She was so kind and made us feel so comfortable. We ordered the sea bass, sword fish and New York steak. All tasted delicious!

When our kids are home for the holidays, they always choose a place to take us for brunch. They have great memories coming to Geoffrey's since they were toddlers so it's quite nostalgic for them. Needless to say, the husband and I were so happy that they chose Geoffrey's this year. With the recent rain we were a bit worried that it would be too wet or overcast. It was not! It turned out to be an absolutely perfect sunny, clear day. It seems that many people were worried about the weather as well because the place stayed fairly empty for our entire visit. We have not had this experience for years. The menu has remained consistent -- we all selected our favorites. It was all quite delicious although everyone agreed that the rosemary rolls have gotten smaller and a bit denser. Marcie was our server -- she was exceptional. She anticipated our needs and handled the smallest details. With no crowd, fantastic weather and the glistening ocean as the backdrop -- we had an absolutely beautiful time!

Such an amazing sunset view. I loved the way they have the tables hugging the mountain for optimal views. The food was amazing. The staff was also great. The scallops were great. The oysters were good but seemed like it was just one variety. There was no description of where the oysters were from. The coconut shrimp was also great. The ahi tuna was good but we wish it came with more than 3 wanton crackers.

A wonderful place to go for Valentine's Day! They were VERY busy for the holiday. Had a pre fixe menu and a 2 hour time limit. Valet was included in the price! Absolutely beautiful restaurant. The service was phenomenal, Jackie was so attentive and kind. Food tasted great! Felt so romantic and intimate, would definitely come back to try their regular menu.

My wife and I went to Geoffrey's for a Valentine's Day brunch. The service was amazing-- our sever was attentive, kind, and very friendly. He made us feel very welcome and was the best part of our experience. The ambiance and view was also great -- an ocean view with lots of plants and greenery was a very pleasant setting for a Saturday lunch. The food was not very good at all -- we got the tuna tartare, which was ok. A little bit too much sauce and the tuna wasn't very fresh tasting. I got the Chilean sea bass, which was also just ok. The fish wasn't very high quality and the pineapple on top tasted like it was from a can. My wife got the filet mignon with Chimichurri sauce. The filet was really bad -- it tasted boiled. The Chimichurri sauce was more of an oil than a Chimichurri -- you could get something much better from the local grocery store. For something with such a high price point and pristine location, you'd expect the food to be a looooot better.

I an always a fan of dessert this apple pie with ice cream was light and tasty.

Wow what a view! I highly recommend this restaurant. The food was delicious and service was great. My first time in Malibu and highly recommend.

Steak is incredibly overdone - cook didn't remake it when he remade the eggs that had a ton of shells in them... absurd.
    Frank P.

Honestly one of the worst experiences I've ever had with completely awful food. I refused to eat here again after our first time here, but my girlfriend is more forgiving and tried to give them a second (and recently to my dismay, a 3rd...) chance. This is the final straw for the both of us. Her last time she ate there (this past week), there were literal pieces of shell in her eggs (pic below). The steak was made medium well instead of medium rare as requested and after she showed them the eggs with shells in it, along with the overcooked steak, instead of recooking both the steak and eggs, they only recooked the eggs. She noted that her avocado had some strange artificial lemon flavor added to it that made it unappetizing. The pico de gallo lacked flavor altogether. Upon this ridiculous mishap messing up the steak preparation and shells in the eggs, you'd think they would offer something as a condolence to this, but they shockingly offered nothing, which was pretty bewildering. There are a ton of great places around the Malibu area, this one should be AVOIDED at all costs, as they clearly only care about your money and not about the experience you have dining with them. We won't be returning again. PERIOD.

    Potato and bacon

Today I went for Easter. Their 87 dollar fixed price meal sucked. Three people ordered the scrambled eggs with potatoes and bacon and it was horrible. Nobody ate it. They eventually comped 3 of the 4 because I swapped mine out but also I complained about the hanger steak order which they never refunded. The desert took forever to come out. The whole meal was like 2.5 hours and they charged so much for food that didn't taste good. It was a mass amount of people they fed and none of us like their food. They should have done far more to make it up to a frequent guest but they didn't. I'm very very disappointed. This was just burnt au gratin potato and bacon and it tasted horrible. How they can charge 90 for this and scrambled eggs is beyond me. They should have comped our meal in my opinion. Not worth coming here.

The Miso Braised Tofu I guess is vegan. I had that and it was pretty good.

They have a really impressive drink situation. You can grab your drink from a large selection of refrigerated drinks. We shared the following: -fried fish tacos ($17.95): deep fried seasonal white fish, pineapple slaw, pico de gallo, avocado sauce + cilantro on corn tortilla -triple combo basket ($28.95): 1 portion of calamari, 1 portion of clam strips, and 6 shrimp I was hyped for the fish tacos, but they were just mid. There was no real sauce to bind the taco - the advertised crema was scarce, and the avocado sauce could hardly qualify. I'd prefer real avocado slices, but alas, such was not the case. The breaded fish was also slim and were a little dry. The triple combo was fine, but the calamari was chew city. We missed the memo and didn't order the clam chowder. Will be ordering that next time. If you're this far up on the 1, you should stop by Neptune's.

Even though we kept it simple and only ordered the nachos, they were very good and packed with flavor. The nachos were $15, and we added beef for $6, bringing the food total to $21. They were topped with carne asada, beans, a small side of guacamole, and a generous amount of finely chopped jalapeño, which gave the whole dish a really nice kick. The setting is also a big plus. The restaurant sits in a beautiful spot in Malibu with nice views of the surrounding hills, which makes it a great place to relax and enjoy a casual meal. Service is the only reason this doesn't quite make it to five stars. Everyone we interacted with was very friendly, but the staff just wasn't attentive enough. Our table went quite a while without water, and when I ordered a fountain soda ($4) it took long enough that I eventually had to flag down another server walking by to ask for it. All in all, the food was very good and the location is excellent. Our total for the nachos with beef and a soda came to $27.49 with tax, which is about what you'd expect in Malibu. Despite the minor service issues, I'd definitely come back and try more from the menu next time.

Unfortunately, despite the beautiful ambiance it was a bit of a fiasco. For an appetizer, we chose the calamari but it was overly breaded and greasy. It immediately upset our stomachs. We ordered the "Gigantic Seafood Tower." When we asked our waiter how it differed from the appetizer platter, he simply said it added lobster. We weren't prepared for the scale; it was an enormous amount of food, easily enough for 6-8 people. For our party of 3 (2 adults, 1 child), it was overkill. We spent over $200 (market price) and had to leave half of it behind since we live too far away for the leftovers to keep. The menu says "It's a lot of seafood," but it really should specify a recommended party size to avoid this kind of waste. The exit was equally stressful. A system failure at the gate and parking ATM caused a massive backup that took nearly an hour to clear. We were charged the $65 beach rate despite having restaurant validation (which should have been $15). The saving grace was David, who I think was the manager. He was out there in the parking lot, going car-to-car to explain the refund process and eventually redirecting traffic through a manual side gate. He was hustling and deserves a raise for handling a mess that wasn't even the restaurant's fault. Sadly, between the menu confusion and the parking nightmare, we won't be back.

The ocean view, the energy, the pacing of the meal. It is the kind of place my fiancé in finance and I go when we want to remind ourselves why we work so hard. We started with the Yellowtail Jalapeño which was impossibly fresh with this delicate citrus brightness and just enough heat to feel intentional, not overwhelming. The Black Cod Miso was, of course, perfection. Silky, buttery, slightly sweet with that caramelized glaze that just dissolves. It is the kind of dish you pause for. The Rock Shrimp Tempura was crisp and addictive with that creamy spicy coating that somehow feels both light and indulgent. And the Wagyu tacos were tiny but deeply rich, almost decadent in a way that makes you laugh a little when you realize how quickly they disappear. But the moment for me was the pour of Louis XIII Cognac. The aroma alone is stunning. Warm dried fruits, soft vanilla, toasted oak, and this subtle floral note that feels almost romantic. When you taste it, it unfolds slowly. Hints of fig, honey, spice, and this deep almost nutty richness that lingers forever. It is unbelievably smooth, almost silky, and the finish just stays with you in the most elegant way. Yes it is expensive. Obviously. But it is also flawless. If you understand luxury, if you appreciate detail, if you want to feel taken care of in a way that feels effortless, this is it.
