Geoffrey's is one of those restaurants I keep coming back to about once a year. Every time I visit, the breathtaking ocean view makes me feel like I can finally take a deep breath. It's such a peaceful and beautiful place. I've tried quite a few of their seafood dishes over the years, and they've consistently been excellent. On this visit, we came for lunch and ordered the corn soup, crab cakes, Chilean sea bass, and skirt steak. Every single dish was delicious, especially the sea bass and crab cakes. One of my favorite Saturday plans is having a relaxing lunch at Geoffrey's and then taking a stroll through the Getty Villa afterward. It's the perfect combination of great food, stunning scenery, and a relaxing afternoon. If you're looking for a restaurant with incredible ocean views, consistently good seafood, and a memorable dining experience, Geoffrey's is always worth the drive.

We made reservations for dinner while visiting Malibu. Our seat had amazing views overlooking the water, it was nice to have the heaters as it was a bit chilly the day of our reservation. Our server was great with good wine recommendations based on the steaks we ordered. We started with oysters, I loved the East Coast oysters, they were so flavorful and perfectly shucked. We both ordered steaks which were perfectly cooked and had such great flavor. It was a lovely meal with amazing views. We followed up with a walk down to the beach to take advantage of the beach access before we headed out to watch the Malibu sunset.

Geoffrey's was fantastic! I took my husband here for his birthday, and he loved it! The food is delicious, the service is excellent, but the view is breathtaking. We went again years later for our anniversary, and we celebrated here just the two of us. The views are still magnificnet and the food is always on point.

Overall great restaurant. Nice place to eat for some seafood by the beach. If you're lucky, they'll seat you closer to the edge so you have a better view, otherwise it's not a great view of the beach or anything except the sky haha. Food was decent, a little pricey for what it is but you're here for the vibes more than anything. Cant complain about service, the hostess, waiter, and valet were all nice. Unfortunately the only parking option will be valet so have that extra cost ready. They do allow you to pay for validation with your bill, so that's convenient. Came here for a special anniversary but I don't believe they offer anything extra for special celebration days.

Great customer service! The layout was exceptional! Such a gorgeous view, I kept pinching myself to see if I was dreaming. Every dish was very tasty! I believe Austin was our waiter, and he was just a cool guy! Highly recommend!!

Cute place to grab breakfast/brunch with a view in the heart of Malibu. We tried: jumbo coconut shrimp & lobster cobb salad this time. Jumbo coconut shrimp was probably the best coconut shrimp I've had. The lobster Cobb was also very good- a simple salad with fresh lobster on top. Valet parking only it's easy to miss the entrance. You might want to pay extra attention when you get close.

Salmon was good the Duck was meh ..too chewy and I didn't like the sauce

We were seated right away. Drinks were really good, appetizers were good too. My GF's salmon was good but my duck was not good at all .. I originally wanted the surf and turf but they said they were out of lobsters but then I saw a table after me who had the lobster so maybe they lied about it ?? Dessert was really good. Overall Beautiful place but overrated..I will go back for drinks only.

The appeal of Geoffrey's is the view that makes all your problems dissolve, and the buzz of comforting chatter. My party had made a reservation and had to wait about 15 minutes to be seated, which we spent at the bar. For such an upscale restaurant, the bar was underwhelming and had limited chairs. Highlights included a phenomenal lychee martini and the bread. May be a bit unfair of a rating, because other members of my party enjoyed their mains. As for mine, the paella was visually beautiful, but it did not taste as I expected. One unexpected moment was when my waiter lost my credit card. Although they tried to remedy the situation, it was very unprofessional, especially because I was traveling, and it put me out a bit. All in all, a decent evening, but the low points tend to linger longer than the high ones. I wouldn't rush back.

I went to Geoffrey's Malibu for brunch with my ex-boyfriend on Sunday March 19th, 2023. Before that, I had lunch here with my parents on June 13th, 2022 for Father's Day. And before that, I think I had visited here once a very long time ago. "At the beach, life is different. Time doesn't move hour to hour but mood to moment. We live by the currents, plan by the tides and follow the sun." - Sandy Gingras I love Malibu. I always love going to the beach, and I think I've been to Malibu more than 50 times. My ex-boyfriend used to live in Malibu. His house was right in front of Malibu Beach with a beautiful ocean view. He made a reservation at Geoffrey's Malibu and sent me an invitation link for Sunday brunch. Oh yeah... Geoffrey's Malibu is one of my favorite restaurants. Who doesn't love an ocean view? Haha. We also had a family brunch here last year on Father's Day. Geoffrey's is still the best, especially on a beautiful, clear, sunny day in Malibu. I had the seafood paella and a cappuccino, and my boyfriend had an omelette and a mimosa. The paella portion was very large, but honestly it wasn't that tasty. But the ocean view is absolutely lovely. (3/19/2023 - Sunday Brunch) I also came here with my parents for a Father's Day celebration. We had lunch here on Monday, June 13th, 2022. I took a day off that day, and it turned out to be such a great day. The view and the music created a wonderful ambiance. The atmosphere was perfect. The ocean view and the short walk to the beach were amazing. I especially loved the ocean-view seating. My dad had the crab cake eggs benedict, my mom had the tofu salad, and I had the chicken piccata with a strawberry lemonade. All of the food was good, but honestly I think the chicken piccata at The Cheesecake Factory is better. Oh... and the dessert, crème brûlée, was so good. This place is great for an upscale lunch or dinner with a beautiful ocean view. It was such a lovely time. (6/13/2022 - Monday Lunch) These are the reviews I originally wrote on my Instagram at the time. cf) My ex-boyfriend lived in Malibu with a beautiful ocean view, but sadly his house was destroyed in the wildfire in January 2025. He also passed away in October last year. It was an incredibly difficult time for me. I cried a lot, and for a long time I couldn't even look at the names of the restaurants we had visited together. It made me emotional and very sad. This is another place that holds many memories of my ex-boyfriend. Geoffrey's Malibu, along with Moon shadows, holds so many memories with my ex-boyfriend. Moon shadows was especially close to his house, so we went there very often. Sadly, it burned down due to the wildfire in January 2025. It's really heartbreaking to think about.

We visited Geoffrey's in Malibu for Father's Day and were seated for their three-course prix fixe menu. Unfortunately, the experience did not live up to either the reputation or the price point. The meal started on a disappointing note with the watermelon salad. The watermelon was underripe and lacked flavor, and no salt, pepper, or fresh ground pepper was offered to help improve the dish. In fact, condiments were not brought to the table until the main course arrived. My tofu entrée was well prepared and was the strongest part of the meal. For cocktails, I ordered a Manhattan served up and was surprised to find it garnished with a bright red maraschino cherry, something I would expect from a casual bar rather than a restaurant of this caliber. My second drink, an Old Fashioned, was served with a more appropriate cherry garnish. The service issues were more concerning than the food. Our bill for three people came to just under $500, with each guest having only two drinks. The check included both a valet fee and a service fee, which led us to reasonably assume gratuity had already been included. After payment, our waiter chased down the gentleman in our party to inform him that an additional tip had not been added. He then added a gratuity on top of the service fee and valet charge. The situation should have ended there, but while we were waiting for our car, another staff member approached us and insisted that he had taken the wrong receipt. He explained that he had only taken his customer copy and that the signed receipt had been left behind. She continued to insist otherwise until I told her that the waiter had already taken the correct receipt and that she needed to speak with him directly. She eventually acknowledged that the waiter had not communicated the situation to her. Being approached multiple times over a settled check was uncomfortable, unnecessary, and left a poor final impression. Adding to the disappointment, the restaurant was aware that we were celebrating a birthday. The hostess acknowledged it upon arrival, yet there was no recognition during the meal--no complimentary dessert, no birthday message, and no gesture of any kind for the guest of honor. Geoffrey's undeniably offers beautiful ocean views, and that is the restaurant's greatest asset. However, for nearly $500 for three guests, the food and service did not justify the cost. Between the underwhelming opening course, confusing billing interactions, and lack of attention to a special occasion that had been noted in advance, the experience felt overpriced and surprisingly subpar. The view was memorable; unfortunately, the dining experience was not.

When our kids are home for the holidays, they always choose a place to take us for brunch. They have great memories coming to Geoffrey's since they were toddlers so it's quite nostalgic for them. Needless to say, the husband and I were so happy that they chose Geoffrey's this year. With the recent rain we were a bit worried that it would be too wet or overcast. It was not! It turned out to be an absolutely perfect sunny, clear day. It seems that many people were worried about the weather as well because the place stayed fairly empty for our entire visit. We have not had this experience for years. The menu has remained consistent -- we all selected our favorites. It was all quite delicious although everyone agreed that the rosemary rolls have gotten smaller and a bit denser. Marcie was our server -- she was exceptional. She anticipated our needs and handled the smallest details. With no crowd, fantastic weather and the glistening ocean as the backdrop -- we had an absolutely beautiful time!

Whaler is the best lunch table out of the sun with an ocean view?

I would say yes! I'm sure you can request from the pictures on their website where you would like to be seated.

Do they have sweet potato fries?

    No. They don't.

Are there any vegetarian appetizers and dishes?

    Yes they are.

    What time is lunch served?

    After 11 am

Can I bring my dog with me?

I believe so, there is outside seating. Most of the restaurant is outside.

Do u have high chairs for toddlers?

    i think so

How do you get a table with an ocean view/ seaside table?

Once you place your reservation by online or phone let them know you want to reserve a table by the ocean view and they definitely will accommodate you

What is the usual attire here? How dressy is too dressy short of a prom dress......lol

I saw a couple of dudes in shorts, and I wore ripped jeans with heels at dinner time so I would say semi formal if you want. Place is nice but the fancy part would be the check so you don't need a long dress just a fat wallet lol

What vegan options are there? Someone please let me know...... thank you! Specific dishes? Thanks again......

The Miso Braised Tofu I guess is vegan. I had that and it was pretty good.

What is the price range? The menu in the website doesn't have prices

If you go to the Yelp site and look at all pictures and then single out "menu photo's" you can get an idea of the cost per item. Apps start at about $18 and go to $22, Dinner items start at $29 for miso braised tofu and go to $94 for surf and turf…

Today for lunch it's posted to be $12.00 - added to your bill

Is there like a dress code or can you go in causal?

    We wore hiking gear

How much do they charge for a bottle of Dom or Moët?

A lot! We brought our own Moet and paid corkage. You are allowed 2 bottles per table. I think corkage is around 30-40

Are they still pet friendly even during COVID 19?

    Yes

Do you need to make a reservation?

    It is highly recommended.

    Can you wear flip flops?

    I wore sparkly ones

Parking can be tight, the line usually wraps around the shack, and everyone is hungry. But don't let that scare you off--the food is absolutely worth the wait. I've been here three times now, and one thing has never changed: the 3-piece fried fish and fries is mandatory. The portions are huge, and I'm calling it now... the best fish and chips in Los Angeles. The fish is unbelievably crispy on the outside, perfectly flaky on the inside, and fried exactly the way it should be. I used to order the fried seafood combo, which comes with fish, shrimp, scallops, and calamari. Everything is good, but the fish and shrimp are the stars, so now I just order the fish and chips with fried shrimp à la carte. One item that deserves way more attention on Yelp is the ceviche. It's ridiculously fresh, loaded with flavor, and served with crispy fried tortilla chips. Honestly, I'd order it every visit. The clam chowder is good too, but the ceviche steals the spotlight. The lobster roll is another surprise. I love Broad Street Oyster Company's lobster roll, but it's over almost as soon as it starts. Malibu Seafood's version is much more generous while still being packed with fresh lobster. Don't sleep on the steamed mussels either. Order a pound for the table and make sure you save the bread for the broth. That broth alone is worth coming back for. I always finish it off with one of their fresh-squeezed lemonades--the perfect pairing after a day at the beach. Seating can take a little patience too, but that's part of the experience. Grab a table overlooking the ocean and PCH if you can. Fresh seafood, ocean breeze, and flip-flops still covered in sand... that's Malibu done right. No reservations. No fancy dress code. Just outstanding seafood in one of the best casual beachside spots around. I'll keep coming back.

Not practical for eating and it was super disappointing seeing the large pieces of lobster they give to influencers and what they actually serve. Also it was super underwhelming in flavor. Would not get again. We also got oysters and those were way overpriced for mid tasting oysters. The ones at Whole Foods are better than this. I was expecting mind blowing and sweet oysters if they're going to charge nearly $50 a dozen. The uni was also extremely fishy and not creamy and succulent. It wasn't that expensive but it was mid. Lobster roll also had tiny portions of lobster that were rubbery. I expected it to be amazing for how much it costs-- again disappointed. The clam chowder might as well have been a roasted potato chowder. It was tan/brown colored and not creamy just grainy and full of potatoes. Didn't taste anything like clam chowder. The burger was decent just overpriced. Hard pass on this spot. All hype and not worth the $ to eat mid/disappointing food. It's a popular spot for motorcycle riders, and you'll often see dozens of bikes and motorcycle clubs gathering there. Since the restaurant sits right off the highway, it has a lively, unique atmosphere. We ordered the Neptune's Net Sampler, which comes with a variety of fried seafood and fries. Overall, it was good. I've been to quite a few fish and chips restaurants, so I felt the fried fish was good but not the best I've had. The fried shrimp, however, was crispy and delicious. My favorite was the calamari--the batter was incredibly light, soft, and airy, almost like eating a cloud. One downside is that the restaurant isn't very dog-friendly. While there is an outdoor patio, dogs aren't allowed in that area. The website mentions outdoor tables where dogs are welcome, but we couldn't find them, so we ended up eating in the parking lot instead. Another surprise was the $5 parking fee. They didn't charge for parking on previous visits, so that was a bit disappointing and one of the reasons I gave the restaurant four stars instead of five. Overall, Neptune's Net is still a fun place to visit if you're in the area. The food is solid, the ocean views are beautiful, and the lively motorcycle scene gives the restaurant a unique atmosphere that's worth experiencing.

The service sucked worse than Gavin Newsome as a "governor for the people" (the guy Eduardo working the counter had the personality of a rock and shouldn't be anywhere around customers) and the food was both grossly overpriced and below average. $50 for 1/2 lb of shrimp, rice, and steamed vegetables? Gtfoh... Neptune's Nuts is not worth the stop unless you like being bent over like a Las Vegas hooker. Lovely drive to Point Dume and Zina beaches nearby, and looked up somewhere close and casual before driving back. So lucky to have been close to this spot! Everything was fantastic. The mocktails were absolutely delicious-- I wish we could've had some cocktails as they were surely just as good. Really lovely casual vibe here and the food was so yummy. Chips and salsa were so fresh and homemade. Me and my husband both had the tacos Malibu plate as the menu was overwhelmingly yummy looking and we had tired brains! Did not disappoint. Service was courteous and they did not check on us during our meal which was really appreciated so we could dine in peace and not feel rushed. I hope i'm able to return to this area again someday thank you for the mems

The only thing is they told us that the hours on Google are wrong so they were going to close very soon. I would call and ask prior to visiting. Luckily, they served us very quickly and were very kind!! The food was DELICIOUS. Everyone left very satisfied and happy. My vegan taco was something that I still think about to this day. Very flavorful and unique. The staff was amazing too-- they made sure that we had the best experience possible. I recommend this spot to my friends anytime they need good food and drinks in Malibu! I'll be back soon!

We completely understand that the weather was beyond the restaurant's control. What was within their control was how they managed seating. Unfortunately, despite having a reservation, we were overlooked and left waiting due to poor organization. When we asked to speak with the manager, PABLO was dismissive, repeatedly interrupted us, ignored the fact that we had a reservation, and sent us back to the front desk instead of addressing the problem. Rather than helping, he emphasized that he had worked there for 26 years and knew what he was doing. His attitude came across as rude, arrogant, and unprofessional. Once we were finally seated, however, our server (Jorge) was excellent, and the food was outstanding. The waitstaff and kitchen clearly provide a wonderful dining experience. Our disappointment was not with the weather, but with the way the situation was handled. A manager should set the standard for customer service, and unfortunately, that did not happen here. I hope Paradise Cove views this as an opportunity to improve communication, organization, and leadership. I am sharing this review not simply to complain, but in the hope that future guests have a better experience. Paradise Cove is a beautiful restaurant with excellent food and dedicated staff who deserve management that reflects the same level of quality.

(Some reviewers are just pretentious serial complainers I think, lol!) Food was quite good, views were Malibu beach--can't go wrong with that! It was maybe a bit pricey, but hey, it was expected for such a great location. And the valet guy was just perfect: happy, fast and it really enhanced the overall experience.

Understood that we were a large group so maybe giving us time to look over everything. Our server continued to be rude the entire time we ate. Drinks took forever to come out, when one of us just politely checked in we were snapped at by the waiter that the bar was busy. Another time when we asked for a refill on our water pitcher we were asked "Do you want it now, or tomorrow?". We waited for the check for a while, and once again one person was snapped at by our waiter. We were a large party and gratuity was already going to be included so guess he didn't care at all about manners and having a nice interaction. Food and setting were great at least!
