Went for the view of point dume! The rooftop was beautiful and we were happy to sit outside with the ocean breeze. It was a little chilly, so our server was able to bring over a heater and start the fire. Our service was good, and helpful. They boxed our leftovers up for us and made sure we had what we wanted throughout the meal. The food was fine. Not authentic Italian but filling after a long day. The prices were fair and we got to take half of our meals home.

We got: Pasta Carbonara: Good, heavy, lots of bacon. 4 out of 5 Rigatoni Pesto: Great, would definitely get this again. Especially good with the parm they provide on the side. Plenty of pesto, plenty of chicken. 5 out of 5 There's an ok sunset view although it depends on the time of year, here in Nov when it sets more north it's obscured by trees. But I bet in Spring the outside patio has an excellent sunset, and it's a nice view either way.

I went to a small private lunch party here on their outdoor patio. They had focaccia, Caesar salad, a variety of pizzas, & a rigatoni with vodka sauce. The pizzas are thin crust with many topping options. Service was great and attentive. Parking- small lot shared with other businesses

Spruzzo - you are so yummy! I love the outdoor seating. The bread is crazy good, pasta is delish. I would recommend. Parking lot is small so if you're coming in a group, carpool. It's close to Zuma beach (walkable) and it's upstairs you have to take the stairs or elevator. I'd recommend making reservations just in case.

Black Angus Skirt Steak with vegetables and mashed potatoes

Always love eating at Spruzzo's! We sat on the rooftop patio with it's gorgeous view of Zuma. We ordered the skirt steak with vegetables and mashed potatoes. The steak was cooked perfectly, with a delicious chimichurri sauce. The vegetables were crisp and fresh, and the mashed potatoes were red potatoes that were on the thick side, very good! We also had the chopped salad (my favorite) that has such a wonderful flavor mixture of garbanzo beans, red onion, cucumbers, lettuce, and blue cheese crumbles. My son also ordered a side of fries. They were crunchy on the outside and hot and soft on the inside. Great meal! The man who brought us the delicious focaccia and drinks is so kind and helpful! We've had our waitress a few times before, and she's also kind and helpful. Only thing that was strange, was she disappeared half way through our meal and never returned. Usually, if a server is going on break or leaving, they let you know. Hope she's alright.

For 7pm on a Sunday it was very open! Overall we had a pleasant experience, I think the service was just a bit lackluster. Our server wasn't as attentive as we would've expected and when we were attended to, it was as if he were in a rush to get away. Despite that, the food is amazing. We LOVED the sauces that came with the Calamari, one was sort of a pesto base and the other was a sort of marinara base. I think they complimented the appetizer perfectly. My linguine clams were delicious, it's one of my favorite meals and I think they met my expectations great. It's a beautiful restaurant with patio seating as well, pretty casual place as well so overall we enjoyed it.

We needed an event space for an awards ceremony luncheon, and this was the perfect spot! Not only did Ray, the owner, work with us to make it beautiful, but within our budget. We had over 60 guests on the ocean view patio, which was perfect! The food was superb, a beautiful buffet with Chicken piccata and fresh vegetables, two types of fresh pasta, two different salads and their tasty bread with balsamic and olive oil. Service was great - they kept the beverages flowing, the needs of the attendees met, and worked with us beforehand to make sure the details were ironed out in advance. This is one of our regular spots for family dining because the menu is varied enough that you can go multiple times a week and not be bored (I love the spicy rock shrimp, chicken salad, and steak - my family loves the salmon, pasta and pizza). Affordable ocean view dining and a great event spot!

Our food server Nikki was absolutely amazing so knowledgeable and so on point The meals that she suggested were absolutely delicious. Everything was served on time fresh and tasty I can not wait to return here and dine again Also team member Willie was very attentive and helpful Hats off team Spruzzo

My family was so impressed with Spruzzo. We found ourselves hungry after a morning at the beach and just drove along the coast until we found something. We checked it out and wanted to enjoy the gorgeous outdoor seating so we figured it would be worth the wait. Knowing we were hungry, the considerate waiter quickly brought out incredible fresh focaccia. We ordered and were pleasantly surprised with how quickly the food came out. Our table ordered a wide variety of dishes so I was able to try a nice assortment of the menu items. All were flavorful and well cooked and it was coordinated perfectly to bring it all out hot and simultaneously. It was a touch pricey, but very worth it for the quality of the meals and the location in which you'll enjoy them!

Do they have parking lot?

There is a valet parking lot near by otherwise it's steer parking.

Is it safe and close walk to the beach from here?

Yes, there is a beautiful view of the ocean and Zuma Beach from our whole outdoor patio (and even from some seats inside)…

Does Spruzzo offer gift certificates/cards?

Ambiance: clearly five star. Food: OK…read more Portion/ Quality in relation to price: double-meh. Service: meh. You have to order and prepay from your phone. Every time. For every drink. Ice water: go inside and help yourself. Mandatory pre-selected tip: 25%. Service attitude: meh. Then, as you opted for the convenient method above, they charge you 99 cent extra. For every order. OK, if you care to hear more: I was born and raised in Germany. In Germany, staff gets paid by the hour, so it's typical to "round up": on a €44 check you would possibly give €47-48, €50 would be considered generous. STILL, when I get asked what would be the first you would import from the US, I suggested "the way you tip service". For decades, 15-18, max 20% was the rule, and you got excellent service for this. I preferred excellent service over saving money in a restaurant. Now, they led us to believe that service does not get paid and their tip is what they take home. Also, they want is to believe that 15% tip is almost an offense as everything got more expensive. A server at Zinqué Malibu earns a legally mandated minimum of $17.91 per hour before tips. Zinqué does not publicly disclose its exact hourly rate; its job postings describe compensation as "hourly + tips," based on experience. True: everything gets more expensive. Every year. So if prices adjust for a sandwich, so does the tip, it's whatever percent on top. So "everything is more expensive" is covered by the higher tip. Zinque offers substandard service, suggests an extra 25% as default for it, and then makes me pay extra for them reducing the service. I still believe that great service deserves recognition. Sadly, I also believe that whoever is behind this, has lost his mind. As much as I love the ambiance of this place, I will not go again. Possibly they would not even want me to come again. Fair enough. During my visit, max 20% of the tables were taken, rather less. Maybe there are more people like me. Again, to make sure we do not misunderstand each other: I have no objections to have an online menu. I prefer a "real" one, but then, digitalization will take over. Fine. I dot not support that I have to tip before I have even seen service, though. Tip must be earned. By service. The more you love the service, the more you should tip.

We had a reservation for Thursday evening, and everything was nice at first. Unfortunately, the…read moreservice quickly went downhill. When we ordered, one of my friends did not like his alcoholic drink, and it took quite a while to get someone to come back to our table. Throughout the entire dinner, no one came to check on us to ask how our food was or whether we needed anything. It felt like they took our order and then completely forgot about us. One interaction also made our group feel uncomfortable. When one of the staff members, an older, shorter man with glasses, took our order, he responded to my friend with "gracias." As Hispanic customers, some of us felt singled out or racially profiled, especially because our non-Hispanic friends noticed it too and thought it was strange. They even commented that he could have simply said "thank you" like he did with others. Later, when we asked to have the alcoholic drink removed from the bill because my friend genuinely did not like it, the same employee became very aggressive and judgmental. He repeatedly asked, "What happened, guys? You don't like the drink?" and kept questioning why my friend did not like it and what else we wanted, but in a rude and diminishing tone. We felt dismissed as customers, and the situation was handled very unprofessionally. The food was okay, and the ambiance was nice, but the restaurant was also very hot inside and did not seem to have adequate AC. The biggest issue was the service and how we were treated. Our experience left our entire group feeling uncomfortable and unwelcome. I personally would not recommend coming here based on our experience.

The dinner we had was nice but it was outside and it was freezing. So we were all shivering and by the time our food came out everything was pretty cold. The entire hotel was not busy there wasn't that many people there. Kind of a shame since you think it would be since it is beautiful there. The rooms were interesting and across from each other, however I loved the little fire pit they had in the middle of the outside area going back and forth to the rooms. The kids had a blast though they had fun running back and forth and they do leave a lot of yummy snacks around which was really nice. The customer service was not bad not the best but not bad! Everyone was nice but things took extra long when it shouldn't when no one was really there. I hope next time we visit this hotel it will be busier. But it's a very unique kind of a hotel and very gorgeous. At least check it out once. Have a really beautiful day :) Be kind to everyone - Aloha

Tasted very fresh. I got the Tacos Malibu, everything was alright. The best part of the plate was the rice and beans. Fish didn't seem as fresh as it should be. Best tacos were the deep fried ones (which is never my choice). My daughter said that her birria tacos were okay but would prefer a handful of other restaurants that we've been to. There's plenty of seating indoors and outdoors, whether you're dining as a couple or coming with a larger group. They take reservations in advance, but also accommodate walk-ins. I personally love outdoor seating, and their outdoor space was so peaceful and relaxing. We truly enjoyed how calm and zen the whole experience felt. Service was wonderful as well. Everyone was so kind and attentive, and our server gave us some really great recommendations. Now for the food, we genuinely loved everything we ordered. We started with the Crudo, which was so yummy, and the Beef Tartare, which was easily one of the best beef tartares I've ever had. Definitely in my top five! I'm also completely obsessed with their French fries. The tartare comes with a very generous portion, and those fries are SO addicting. I genuinely could not stop eating them. They are literally the perfect French fries to me, and I can't think of anywhere else that tops them right now. For our mains, we had the Grilled Octopus and Seared New England Scallops. The octopus and all of its accompaniments were absolutely astounding. We've never had anything quite like it, and the sauce was exceptional. My only note is that it was a little on the spicy side for me. Totally fine, I just don't have a very high spice tolerance, so I had to eat it a little more moderately, but the flavor was incredible. The Seared Scallops were cooked to perfection and absolutely delicious. I love that you can choose the sauce to accompany them. Our server recommended her favorite, the red chimichurri, and I'm SO glad she did. I probably wouldn't have thought to order it myself, but it was the perfect complement to the scallops. We also got the affogato to finish off our lunch, which was great. And personally, I really enjoyed the biscotti cookies that came with it. I love that so many of the dishes are easily shareable, which makes it really fun to try a variety of things with the table. We can't wait to come back, bring others with us, and try even more of the menu. Such a fun experience and definitely a new favorite!

The restaurant really does have a pretty design, it's very bright and open with a large outdoor seating area covered with outdoor lighting, as well as a full bar. Our server was very polite, but one issue that we had was that we ordered an appetizer salad and a warm entrée, but everything came out all at once. So basically, you had to prioritize eating the hot dish first and the appetizer second. The menu itself is not very large, but has what you would expect at most hotel restaurants, although surprisingly no club sandwich or grilled cheese, which I seem to always see. I started off with the Crispy Avocado Wedges and thought they were just OK. It's basically breaded and fried avocado, but the salad beneath it was more of a garnish than an actual salad. There was not enough dressing to make it a true full plate. I felt this was more of a tapas plate still in its creation phase. For my entrée, I chose the Wagyu Cheeseburger and I thought this one was very good. It was cooked perfectly and honestly, I have no complaints about it at all. I should have added avocado, but I would recommend the burger and felt it really made up for the appetizer. Aside from the timing issue with our entrées all arriving at once, it was a really nice dining experience and I would certainly suggest if you are staying at the hotel.
