Branzino with a side of mash and green beans. The fish was just perfectly cooked, to die for a dish.

Just an absolute gem in Malibu. We walked in after a frustrating experience nearby and were immediately welcomed with warm, attentive service from Manuk. He made everything effortless--from ordering a glass of wine for my wife and a cocktail for me, to guiding us through the menu. The food was genuinely outstanding, and the whole experience just clicked. It's rare to find a spot that checks every box: great service, delicious food, and that relaxed, small-town Malibu vibe that still feels alive in places like this. Manuk really made the night special, he made our toddler so happy, great high chairs for kids. Well done, OLLO. We'll definitely be back.

I wanted to love this place. We had a good experience a few years back. Not this time. It was 4:30, mostly empty restaurant. The ambience is lovely, except for the huge overwhelming TVs. Our waiter was quite inattentive and borderline rude. He never stated his name but the server on the bill states Juan Carlos. He only had a couple tables. My whiskey ginger sour was ok, but it took a minute to get. The bread was absolutely scorched. The waiter. never acknowledged our request for water to be refilled (other waiters brought a bottle and left it at the table). He never asked if I wanted another drink and, the worst, took forever to bring the check when asked for it directly. Our food was meh. Grilled salmon bowl with fishy salmon and it stated farro but barely saw any. The zucchini noodles zoodles were fine. I should have taken pics of that. If I eat here again, I will have happy hour at the bar.

Came to Malibu for an event. Stopped at Ollo for dinner. We walked in and were seated. The first thing we noticed was the comfortable decor. The restaurant had a nice ambiance and the had nice contemporary music playing. We placed our drink order and asked for some bread. We got our drinks, but no bread. It was almost 20 minutes before were were served our requested bread. We were starting to get a sense that they were short on wait staff. Our waiter was nice but you could pick up on his stress. We started with the Cauliflower appetizer. It was delicious! Not what I expected but very good. I ordered the Beef Short Rib and Mashed Potatoes. My wife asked for the Porcini Mushroom Parpadelle pasta. We received or Beef Short Rib plate and a Beef Ragu Parpadelle dish. The waiter was nowhere to be seen, so she ate the dish she received. For desert we got the Torta Della Nonna. It was good, but the ice cream on the side was the highlight. All in all the food was excellent, the atmosphere was great, but they definitely had a staffing shortage.

    Breakfast Burrito

Decided to give Olllo a shot while passing through Malibu -- it seemed like a cozy, niche spot for breakfast/brunch, and the vibe definitely delivers on that front. Chill atmosphere, trendy coastal decor, and a menu that leans into fresh, simple ingredients. I was hopeful. I ordered the breakfast burrito with pico de gallo, and... mixed feelings. First off, the pico came on the side, which threw me off. Not a huge deal, but it made the burrito look kinda sad and underwhelming on the plate -- like it missed its final styling check. That said, it actually tasted really good. The flavors were on point, the ingredients felt fresh, and it definitely wasn't greasy or overly heavy like some breakfast burritos can be. Where it lost me a bit was value and presentation. For the price (which was up there), the portion felt a bit light. And the side of chips? Didn't really pair well -- more like an afterthought than a complement to the meal. Honestly, if I wasn't in Malibu and trying to try something new, I probably would've just gone to Chipotle. All in all, it's not bad at all -- in fact, it's good -- but I was expecting just a little more given the price point and how it presents itself. Worth trying once if you're in the area, but I'm not rushing back.

Breakfast served till 3pm- yessss! If you're a breakfast fan like me, this place is a great choice. I had the Ollo Scramble and it was so good and hearty. My husband got the homemade zucchini bread with strawberry butter, and said it was delicious. If I wasn't gluten-free, I'd have been all over it. Our daughter's Belgian waffle was incredible too. This restaurant is charming with rustic casual vibes and friendly service. Located in a strip mall with plenty of parking. Loved it!

We stumbled upon this restaurant while camping in Malibu. Looking for a good breakfast we divided to try out Ollo and we're not disappointed. We were quickly greeted and seated inside. The waiter was friendly and efficient. We started with mimosas (Hello Bubbles) I had breakfast tacos-chorizo and eggs. The plate comes with 3 and I could not finish them. Huevo Rancheros was what hubs ordered. Delish! The taste buds were happy! The restaurant is located in a strip Mall near the CVS a d Ralph's on PCH. They have patio seating. The walls are decorated in funky local art. 10/10

Crab Cake Benedict and an espresso martini

Such a great brunch spot. The crab cake Benedict is generous with crab, which is not easy to find. If you like waffles you will love their Belgium waffles. Perfectly fresh fruit. The drinks were all great. The bartender had the perfect level of spice in the Bloody Mary. The expresso martini was fresh and perfect. The ambiance is nice. Perfect spot to eat while in Malibu. We will be back for dinner.

There's a DJ before the set which again makes waiting a lot more fun than your standard concert venue. I hope to catch another great show at Dreamland, highly recommend.

It looked cute, had plenty of people, dogs on the patio, and we were craving a light bite -- so we thought, why not? I love when an unexpected dining experience hits and completely exceeds your expectations, and Zinqué did exactly that. We arrived at the perfect time: happy hour. Both of our drinks were included, and they offered a deal on any three tapas. We tried the deviled eggs, chicken wings, and burrata pizza -- each one was elegantly plated, packed with flavor, and exactly what we needed. Their drink menu is extensive, with tons of happy‑hour options. I especially appreciated their long wine list and that they clearly mark which wines are organic, natural, or biodynamic -- something I always look for and can be hard to spot on menus. Service was excellent. Our server was friendly, attentive, and even chatted with us for a bit. The space is beautiful, dog‑friendly, and has a great outdoor patio. Inside, there's a cozy lounge‑style area in the back and a half‑circle bar. They also offer Wi‑Fi, making it a great spot to get some work done while enjoying a drink. On the way out, I noticed they have a connected store and café with home goods, kitchen items, artisanal snacks, cheeses, wines, and even an espresso bar. It was so fun to browse and grab a lovely bottle of wine to go. A perfect, unexpected Malibu find -- we'll definitely be back.

The entire hotel was not busy there wasn't that many people there. Kind of a shame since you think it would be since it is beautiful there. The rooms were interesting and across from each other, however I loved the little fire pit they had in the middle of the outside area going back and forth to the rooms. The kids had a blast though they had fun running back and forth and they do leave a lot of yummy snacks around which was really nice. The customer service was not bad not the best but not bad! We had the Tuxedo and Blue Hill bay for starters and they were right on point. The steak tartare was excellent. My cocktail, the salty surfer, was not the most exciting, lacked depth, would not order again. My entree was the halibut with the chimichurri and paprika sauces. Not sure if the fish was bland and completely lacking flavor because the sauces were on the side, in which case that would be my fault, but it was meh. My Husbands sea bream was far more flavorful and a better choice. One of our party had the burger and was very happy, and another, the lobster roll. The Kale is a very strong smoke flavor with an acid topnote, very different, but not sure in a good way. Likewise, the fries were just overly salted plate decor. Dessert of pote de creme was delish, as was the key lime tort. I did not care for the chocolate mousse cake, it was not overly sweet (good), but also not a very developed chocolate flavor as it was overpowered by the fruit rather than complimented by it. The ambience is festive, which is to say loud. It is located in one of our new strip malls and had it been warmer, the patio would have been the better choice for conversation. Unfortunately, despite the beautiful ambiance it was a bit of a fiasco. For an appetizer, we chose the calamari but it was overly breaded and greasy. It immediately upset our stomachs. We ordered the "Gigantic Seafood Tower." When we asked our waiter how it differed from the appetizer platter, he simply said it added lobster. We weren't prepared for the scale; it was an enormous amount of food, easily enough for 6-8 people. For our party of 3 (2 adults, 1 child), it was overkill. We spent over $200 (market price) and had to leave half of it behind since we live too far away for the leftovers to keep. The menu says "It's a lot of seafood," but it really should specify a recommended party size to avoid this kind of waste. The exit was equally stressful. A system failure at the gate and parking ATM caused a massive backup that took nearly an hour to clear. We were charged the $65 beach rate despite having restaurant validation (which should have been $15). The saving grace was David, who I think was the manager. He was out there in the parking lot, going car-to-car to explain the refund process and eventually redirecting traffic through a manual side gate. He was hustling and deserves a raise for handling a mess that wasn't even the restaurant's fault. Sadly, between the menu confusion and the parking nightmare, we won't be back.

Can't walk out without trying this. 3. Beef short ribs: good but nothing unique in its flavoring . Beef steak(medium rare and super tender) that's lightly marinaded/glazed (so not overly sweet) with kbbq/short rib sauce. This is one of their fan favorites so I suggest you try it.. 4. Chilled Acorn Noodles: chewy cOLD noodles made with acorn (just like the acorn jelly side dish we eat). The noodles are seasoned with Korean Cho-go-chu-jang (Gochujang paste), crispy cucumber slices, loads of dried seaweed flakes, and perilla oil. And you just mix them all together. Sooo good and paired well with the short ribs. Incredible. 5. Bluefin tuna and trout Bibimbop: like a poke bowl but so much better. Rice at the bottom with loads of lettuce strips, bluefin tuna sashimi, radish slices, and cavier. Seasoned with Korean Cho-go-chu jang (Gochujang paste with a twist of vinegar). Very good as well. For drinks we tried the shikhye slush (shikhye is a Korean sweet rice drink dessert). They used a slushy shikhye base with warm cinnamon and ginger spices and pisco for a kick. Also tried the Sujinggwa manhattan which is sujunggwa (traditional Korean cinnamon ginger dessert tea served cold) and a single malt. This was fabulous. Overall fantastic experience. Food: Rice slushy had a strangely strong cinnamon-like taste to it that traditional rice punch doesn't have which was so overpowering, it made it difficult to go back for more sips. Oysters - good though small, enjoyed the kelp mignonette Korean Aguachile - Delicate tilefish completely overwhelmed by cold kimchi broth with actual icy slush in it and small amounts of fish Steak Tartare - The hot stone bowl seemed to defeat the purpose of a tartare, as it cooked the steak once mixed. The perilla leaves were also cut in large strips relative to the beef. Chilled Acorn Noodle - The perilla oil was nonexistent in flavor though the dish didn't need it and was good without. Overall, portions were small for the price and dishes weren't well-executed so despite being excited for more Korean options in West LA, I'd much rather make the drive to Koreatown for better portions, prices, and flavors.

I can walk up and give the vaguest description -- "classic but not sweet, strong but not too whiskey-forward, smooth but still gives main character energy" -- and they'll just... create it. They've made me drinks that aren't even on the menu -- Army Navy, Aviation, etc. -- and every single one was spot on. They always manage to find the right drink for me, which is honestly a skill more people should have. The servers are genuinely nice, the liquor selection is solid, and the energy is chill without being pretentious. I've also heard there's a speakeasy hidden in here somewhere, and trust me, one day I'll find it like I'm unlocking a side quest. Definitely one of my favorite bars in Thousand Oaks -- industrial vibes, great people, and bartenders who match drinks to my personality better than most men can.

I never knew of any cute cantinas around Malibu and stumbled across this one on Opentable. Went in…read morewith reservations and we were seated right away with excellent service. The only thing is they told us that the hours on Google are wrong so they were going to close very soon. I would call and ask prior to visiting. Luckily, they served us very quickly and were very kind!! The food was DELICIOUS. Everyone left very satisfied and happy. My vegan taco was something that I still think about to this day. Very flavorful and unique. The staff was amazing too-- they made sure that we had the best experience possible. I recommend this spot to my friends anytime they need good food and drinks in Malibu! I'll be back soon!

La Nena Cantina Visited: March 8, 2026…read more This was my first time trying La Nena Cantina, and I was pleasantly surprised. Even though we kept it simple and only ordered the nachos, they were very good and packed with flavor. The nachos were $15, and we added beef for $6, bringing the food total to $21. They were topped with carne asada, beans, a small side of guacamole, and a generous amount of finely chopped jalapeño, which gave the whole dish a really nice kick. The setting is also a big plus. The restaurant sits in a beautiful spot in Malibu with nice views of the surrounding hills, which makes it a great place to relax and enjoy a casual meal. Service is the only reason this doesn't quite make it to five stars. Everyone we interacted with was very friendly, but the staff just wasn't attentive enough. Our table went quite a while without water, and when I ordered a fountain soda ($4) it took long enough that I eventually had to flag down another server walking by to ask for it. All in all, the food was very good and the location is excellent. Our total for the nachos with beef and a soda came to $27.49 with tax, which is about what you'd expect in Malibu. Despite the minor service issues, I'd definitely come back and try more from the menu next time.
