[[HIGHLIGHT]]This restaurant was absolutely beautiful... right on my favorite beach in Malibu.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The prices were steep but to be expected for the area and for such a nice view & ambience, feels like somewhere straight out of a movie. The food was tasty, I enjoyed the salad & tacos very much! Our server Andre was really nice & handled all our needs in a timely fashion. I'm glad I stopped by after a relaxing day on the beach with my mom.

I don't know if I've ever been to a restaurant that charges $10 a slice to cut your cake. I genuinely couldn't believe it. They didn't even give the option to just let us cut it ourselves. $10 per person. To press the knife into the cake. I had a big group because it was my birthday so it was an extra $120 on top of the bill for the cake. $120 for them to cut the cake. Maybe I could've overlooked the fee a little bit if our waitress was around and very attentive, but she was MIA and we were all dying of thirst the whole time. Maybe I could've overlooked it l if our food came out fast but we were there for three and a half hours because the food was taking forever. I understand we're a big group but I've had a big group at other places even while it's busy and this has never happened. And then the cherry on top was an extra $120 to cut our cake and forced gratuity for bad service and for them to cut our cake. I can't make this up!! I'm giving it 2 stars instead of 1 star because I did really like their drinks and the food was good. I had to apologize to everyone after though.

Valets were super kind and quick! Walked in with no reservations but was able to be sat immediately. They had a brunch menu in addition to their regular menu, they had something for everyone! I had a salad with a balsamic dressing that was delicious. Hubby got the breakfast burrito and enjoyed it. The view was amazing! We sat inside but might as well have been outside with the giant windows that opened up to the ocean.

WOW what a view, but what a slow roll to get there. Suggest you make a reservation and give yourself plenty of time to arrive, especially on the weekend. Food was delicious, wait staff was attentive, and seriously can't say enough about the view from the 2nd floor. Go, enjoy, relax! Oh and they have valet parking which is super helpful, reasonable and friendly!!

One of our favorite spots in Malibu you can't beat the beach view! The lobster pasta is my go-to every time, rich and flavorful. Perfect place to unwind, enjoy good food, and catch the sunset. Service is friendly and the vibe is chill, though parking can be a bit tough.

Outstanding experience at The Sunset Restaurant. We had high hopes for this place, and it exceeded our expectations. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Amazing views, located on a quiet beach front.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The service was great, and the food and drinks were exceptional. Javier our waiter was so kind in taking care of us, and we couldn't thank him more. Would highly recommend this place.

Popped in for quick happy hour. We shared the fish tacos and fries. I'd recommend NOT sharing the tacos :-) Lol [[HIGHLIGHT]]We loved the atmosphere, food, drinks, and enjoyed talking to the bartenders.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We are definately planning our next trip back! Maybe happy hour and dinner.

Cute beach spot with really good food overall. The burrata was delicious and fresh with a nice balsamic drizzle. The grilled octopus was also excellent, tender, flavorful, and cooked perfectly over the creamy base and tomatoes. The clams on the half shell weren't really for me. The texture and larger size just wasn't my favorite. I'll stick with oysters next time. Kettle One martinis were good and strong. Staff was friendly and accommodating, especially since we had our two dogs with us. [[HIGHLIGHT]]They originally wanted to seat us on the patio, which is literally on the sand. Cute idea, but it was a little chilly and the tables felt very close together, so we chose to sit inside near the bar area instead.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Only minor issue was that we could see our drinks sitting ready at the bar for a while before they made it to our table. Nothing major, just noticeable. Also worth noting: valet parking only. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Overall, a great little beachside spot with solid food, good drinks, and a relaxed vibe.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Oh how I love this place! Best spot to enjoy a drink and appetizer and catch a sunset! We sat on the couches in the lounge area and met a couple from Montreal who we chatted it up with for a bit... I had a Paloma and my husband had a Smokey tequila drink (can't remember the name) both so delicious! Also enjoyed the Tuna Tar Tar appetizer! Excellent! Service was great but off to a rough start as we sat for quite a while before anyone came over to us and the party that came in next to us, about 15 minutes after, were being tended to and of course I waved to the server and said we still haven't ordered? She said "ok someone will be with you shortly" I was a bit miffed over that but it wasn't long before the bar tender came and took our order. He was very nice and apologetic and even comped a drink! Thank you for that! Always recommend coming here!

Really enjoy coming to the Sunset Restaurant and this last visit did not disappoint. Parking is available via valet parking. You can certainly try parking on the street, but it's beachfront and packed most of the time. There is indoor and outdoor seating options. Both provide beautiful views of the ocean, just keep in mind that the outdoor seating is directly in same. The service is excellent, with your waiter and managers checking on folks frequently without feeling overbearing. I have never been disappointed by any of the dishes I've ordered. This latest time, we enjoyed the calamari (crisp, warm, succulent), Cesar salad, burger, and seafood tacos (now a duo rather than trio...I wish they'd bring back the lobster). Portions are incredibly generous, as well! Can't wait for our next trip out to Zuma/Malibu

Delicious food with an amazing view. This restaurant sits right on the beach. If you can, ask to sit upstairs. There are so many windows pointing towards the beach and it's quieter. Our server was great and super friendly. I started off with the Pink Elephant which was absolutely delish. The linguini and clams was huge. They do not skimp out on the clams as well. Everyone loved their food and the service.

My husband and I have always passed by this restaurant and finally we came here for lunch on a lovely, sunny Sunday! My hubs got the the waygu burger with double patties - and at the first bite, he said that this was so impressed and after the first few bites, he gave the burger a 10 out of 10! I got the salad and I think it was okay - maybe around an 8 out of 10 (wished there was more chicken!!) The ambiance was so great - we got a lovely seat next to the open windows! The service was pretty slow sadly given it was lunch time! Overall, a fantastic malibu spot right along the beach and would definitely come again! Parking might be tough but we parked at the beach and took a short 5 min walk over! Recommend getting a reservation too to avoid the long line!

Burrata & Tuna Tartare (both are amazing)

Some of the lines do not have shade, so get sun screen, shades and hats ready when you can. Once you pass that long wait time, it's all upside: Great food, extensive menu, daily specials, great ocean breeze and view, and nice vibes from your fellow diners! We ordered grilled red snapper plate with baked potato's and fries, and fish and shrimp tacos. The fish tacos are also made of red snappers (FYI). Reasonable prices given the big proportion you get! One tip for street parking: Read the sign carefully as we were parking just beyond where the sign stops, and of course we got to pay the $73 parking violation to the rich city of Malibu....

Beach day + Malibu Seafood has become a tradition for me…read more A quick heads-up before you go: be patient. Parking can be tight, the line usually wraps around the shack, and everyone is hungry. But don't let that scare you off--the food is absolutely worth the wait. I've been here three times now, and one thing has never changed: the 3-piece fried fish and fries is mandatory. The portions are huge, and I'm calling it now... the best fish and chips in Los Angeles. The fish is unbelievably crispy on the outside, perfectly flaky on the inside, and fried exactly the way it should be. I used to order the fried seafood combo, which comes with fish, shrimp, scallops, and calamari. Everything is good, but the fish and shrimp are the stars, so now I just order the fish and chips with fried shrimp à la carte. One item that deserves way more attention on Yelp is the ceviche. It's ridiculously fresh, loaded with flavor, and served with crispy fried tortilla chips. Honestly, I'd order it every visit. The clam chowder is good too, but the ceviche steals the spotlight. The lobster roll is another surprise. I love Broad Street Oyster Company's lobster roll, but it's over almost as soon as it starts. Malibu Seafood's version is much more generous while still being packed with fresh lobster. Don't sleep on the steamed mussels either. Order a pound for the table and make sure you save the bread for the broth. That broth alone is worth coming back for. I always finish it off with one of their fresh-squeezed lemonades--the perfect pairing after a day at the beach. Seating can take a little patience too, but that's part of the experience. Grab a table overlooking the ocean and PCH if you can. Fresh seafood, ocean breeze, and flip-flops still covered in sand... that's Malibu done right. No reservations. No fancy dress code. Just outstanding seafood in one of the best casual beachside spots around. I'll keep coming back.

We completely understand that the weather was beyond the restaurant's control. What was within their control was how they managed seating. Unfortunately, despite having a reservation, we were overlooked and left waiting due to poor organization. When we asked to speak with the manager, PABLO was dismissive, repeatedly interrupted us, ignored the fact that we had a reservation, and sent us back to the front desk instead of addressing the problem. Rather than helping, he emphasized that he had worked there for 26 years and knew what he was doing. His attitude came across as rude, arrogant, and unprofessional. Once we were finally seated, however, our server (Jorge) was excellent, and the food was outstanding. The waitstaff and kitchen clearly provide a wonderful dining experience. Our disappointment was not with the weather, but with the way the situation was handled. A manager should set the standard for customer service, and unfortunately, that did not happen here. I hope Paradise Cove views this as an opportunity to improve communication, organization, and leadership. I am sharing this review not simply to complain, but in the hope that future guests have a better experience. Nowadays, that note is rarely recognized by restaurants and most use Open Table for their reservations! Upon arrival at the hostess station, we were asked who's birthday and said Happy Birthday, and again by the Hostess that brought us to our table, and then by our sever. I felt so special and acknowledged! It's these small gestures that truly make the difference and a very lasting impression! Casey was our server and he was excellent. Helped to make suggestions and answer questions. Checked back often with each course to make sure everything was as expected. The other staff helping to serve and bus, very friendly and helpful. Our son ordered The Eggs Benedict (with prosciutto). He lived the Hollandaise saucen had a kick. I tried his potaoes, red roasted and very good. He also had fresh fruit with his entree. It was the first time we had fruit in more than a week (the parasite scare!) and it was wonderful to have fruit one knew was freshly cut (rinds still attached) and tasted so wonderful, really missed it! Birthday cake awaiting at home! Our server, Casey, brought out a scoop of Vanilla Bean, house made, with a candle. Again, very nice touch and another way to recognize my birthday! It was delicious! Dinner menu looks wonderful and they have a nice bar area. Wouldn't hesitate to stop by for a deink if I was in the area! The views are absolutely stunning. The restaurant opens up completely the outdoors (sliding glass doors) and has a spacious patio with lots of umbrellas to produce great shade! The location has plenty of parking, which is always a plus in this area, and there is a nice outdoor dining space in front where you can enjoy the sunshine and fresh air while you eat. What really stood out was the customer service. One of the employees working near the deli area, I didn't catch his name, but I remember his distinctive earring and tattoos, provided exceptional service. He was friendly, attentive, and genuinely seemed to care that customers had a great experience. The entire store was clean, well-organized, and easy to navigate. Even the restrooms were spotless, which says a lot about how well the business is managed. Great food, great service, and a welcoming atmosphere. I'll definitely be stopping back the next time I'm in the area.

3.5 on 5 Low quality…read moregrocery items. Burnt coffee. Bottom of the barrel selection at Erewhon prices. Imagine a Whole Foods and Walmart had a baby, a not so thriving baby. Now imagine it costs twice as much as Whole Foods. Boom. The only reason why it's 3.5 on 5 is the exceptional customer service. Really really nice and down to earth staff. You'd only go there if you are a tourist or a local who doesn't want to drive to a decent grocery store. Everything is mediocre. Ingredients are not clean. There's a lot of variety, from cut fruits to breakfast burritos, baguettes to bagels, sandwiches to poke. Many of the wraps and sandwiches looked sad and dry. $12 for cut papayas and $19 for small cut mixed fruits (if you are thinking organic, nada conventional). It's still decent to pickup overpriced staples in a rush, convenience, but not for stocking up your kitchen. Will we be back, probably, since any other store in western Malibu is a minimum half hour commute.
