Came here for a quick bite with a friend and was pleasantly surprised. This place does the simple things really well, which, honestly, is harder to find than it should be. The short rib taco on a soft flour tortilla with spicy roja sauce was incredible, super tender, deeply flavorful, and one of those bites you keep thinking about after. Loved that they serve both salsa and guacamole with the chips, both fresh, well-balanced, and clearly made with care. And the skinny margarita? Clean, crisp, not too sweet, and exactly how a proper skinny should be. Service was fantastic, and parking was easy with a side lot off PCH, which is always a plus. Came here for lunner during HH, 4-6 pm. The menu was pretty small but wasn't bad. I got the steak quesadilla and it was great! A lot of cheese haha. The staff was superrrr friendly but also kinda slow. They took forever to bring out check, take our order, etc. the space was clean, the vibes were good. I was blown away and surprised how incredibly delicious the food and drinks were and the service was outstanding. Like the staff truly cared. They are what customer experience should be. 100% get the surf and turf burrito. Unique presentation. I can't wait to go back and eat it again. The mocktail margaritas were so yum and fresh. I really would recommend this place if you are a Mexican food lover! The place was very quiet when I went which was around 2 pm on a Friday. They have a parking lot too so you don't need to worry about parking. The staff were very nice too and sweet. I think because there weren't a lot of people when I went, we got served our food very fast which was great! I think I would order most of the items here again. If you love Elote and esquite, you should try their corn esquite. I also really liked their guacamole and salsa. I was not too much of a fan of the chicken enchiladas but J did enjoy the shrimp tacos. Definitely coming back here to try more! They do have bathrooms in their restaurant too which is great since some restaurants don't have that. read more

Prima is hands-down, the best Mexican food in Malibu! The staff is always very friendly and the vibe is always fun! I usually sit at the bar with friends so we can eat, have a cocktail and be social. My favorite dish there is the veggie bowl! I always add a protein so that I get the best of both worlds! Their chips and salsa are to die for, so be careful not to fill up on them and miss out on your meal. The portions are perfect for bringing home leftovers too! read more

A clean, well-lighted place. Came in here Thursday, Friday and Saturday night and walked away content each time - except for the 49ers. On Thursday ordered the Surf and Turf Burritto and what came out was a Sushiritto or a Burrushi - a burrito cut up like a sushi roll. Unique and good! On Friday ran in for nachos and went to the end of Malibu Road to watch a SpaceX/Starlink launch. The nachos were hot but the rocket was hotter! Those launches are cool. Returned on Saturday to watch the Five Time World Champion San Francisco Football 49ers not become the Six Time World Champion Football 49ers as they got massacred by the Seattle Seahawks. Went in Wednesday night with V. Sat at the bar. She got the veggie bowl and the Burrushi/Sushiritto and said it was good. This place really is clean and well lighted. The chips are warm and the atmosphere is warmer. A good place to hang, talk story, watch sports. Eat, drink and be merry. read more

The staff were really nice and helpful. My husband was served the incorrect plate cheese enchiladas instead of chicken enchiladas. They remade the plate and were really nice about it. Lobster tacos were delicious. We loved how the surf and turf burrito was served it looked like a sushi roll. The fajita plate was huge. The beans were ok put I am pretty picky on pinto beans. Somebody needs to take the salt away from the kitchen. Everything was so overly salted. From the chips to the carne asada, even the lobster.... which tasted odd, in addition to being salty. Everything was just salt forward, and disappointing. We had a total of three wait staff, They were pleasant but two of the three literally had food stuck to their shirts which was really unappetizing. I literally think that they were kitchen staff filling in. Carnitas we're an okay flavor profile. They're kind of soggy, the enchiladas were gummy. Again with the beans and rice, good flavor profile but way too much salt. Even the chips were drenched where you could literally wipe it off and we had a pile on our plate. The margarita was good, Ambiance's seems a little bit brighter than the previous restaurant, Just know if you sit outside, you're basically on PCH, But the booths are comfortable. I hate to say it because I want to see every restaurant do well in Malibu, but lots of room for improvement. Hopefully they get the chance to make the tweaks as there are two other options for Mexican food in Malibu that are not only more comfortable, less expensive but better food. read more

I was really disappointed with my experience. I ordered the carne asada plate, and the meat came out undercooked--almost raw. We brought it to their attention, expecting a fresh plate, but instead they took our same plates back to the kitchen and simply cooked the same meat again. At that point, it felt very unsanitary and honestly unappetizing. Once food has already been served and handled, it shouldn't be reheated and sent back out. A new plate should have been prepared. Unfortunately, this completely ruined the experience for us. Food quality and proper handling are basic expectations, and this fell short on both. Not coming back here. read more

Walked in to this new little gem along PCH to pick up lunch today. Parking was convenient. I was warmly greeted by staff and food was prepared quickly for my pick-up order. I ordered lunch for myself and my colleagues. I ordered the shrimp caesar wrap which was a 6.5/10. The portion size was ample and ingredients were fresh! However, I wouldn't call this a Caesar wrap because the sauce used on the wrap did not have the sharpness of Caesar dressing and it was in fact pretty bland. Also, I'm pretty certain the wrap was missing the cheese and the tortilla strips. I threw some hot sauce on the wrap and ate it but would not order it again. My coworkers ordered a chicken burrito and steak tortas and those were highly rated so maybe I'll try something else next time! read more

I'm a local. Live on the beach near Geoffreys. i've been to Prima Cantina now about 5 times. Tonight, I sat at the bar. Started off with a Paloma and a shot. Great mix and the bartender rocks. Had the 3 shrimp tacos, flower tortilla's, a la carte. They came out of the kitchen hot and delicious. Their salsa is some of the best i've had and way better than any of the other local Mex joints like La Nena and Cafe Habana, the latter of which I think is not good food at all. I'm glad to have PC in the neighborhood. read more

From the moment we walked in, we were charmed with this new spot in Malibu. Greeted by the gracious owner Renee. We found a spot at the bar. The decor is fresh and beachy. Nice tequila selection (which is growing as they just opened a week ago), and the bartender (I think his name was Pete) really knew his stuff, a true professional, and to top it off, he food was delicious, too. Great guac, delicious fish tacos.
