I first tried Gravina about 7~8 years ago with my mother as we were spending the day in Malibu. It was delicious and we had a wonderful time! I later moved to the Camarillo area and I often passed through on the 1 and saw Gravina and I'd always tell my husband we would have to go back, remembering back to the great experience with my mom. Well we finally were able to go back recently and it was just as good as I remembered! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The staff are incredibly the friendly, the restaurant was so clean and quiet and they even let us have our small dog on the patio.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The food was exquisite! Truly delicious Italian food. I recommend Gravina to anyone who wants a delicious meal with incredible service was a staff that makes you feel like family.

Love the ambience it's a great place for date night, because very low-key and quiet so that you can carry on conversations without struggling to listen to the other person. We usually go there on a Friday night and the parking lot in the front of the restaurant always has a parking spot which is what we like about this place.. Service is great. The owner comes out and greet you and have conversations with you. The ambience Intimate and warm. The food is great. We come here for the octopus. The eggplant Parmesan is interestingly prepared. The eggplant is sliced, very thinly and is absent of gooey mozzarella not your traditional eggplant Parmesan.

Great service and ambiance! We were seated in the covered patio area and it was perfect! We got to see the lights outside, and we stayed warm inside the restaurant! The service was great overall, and the food was delicious! Everything came out in a timely manner, and everyone got their food around the same time so no one was waiting around! One of our friends started feeling sick after we finished dinner, and the restaurant was very respectful and attentive to our needs and did not try to rush us at all! I will definitely be back here, and all my guests loved the food as well! There is extra parking in the back if you can't find any in front of the restaurant!

I m so happy that we went Gravina for my bday dinner , service was great, owner is very nice , food was so delicious!!!! I m not a pasta person, but they changed my mind, I miss the pasta already, definitely will go back for more Italian food!

I was passing through Malibu and couldn't get into Moonshadows which is one of my go to places with magnificent views. But lucky for me I found Gravina Malibu which had much more appealing atmosphere on a date night. A family owned restaurant with a quaint and charming vibe. The food was amazing! We had the Ossobuco which was sitting on top of risotto,. And the Lasagna dish. The Ossobuco had that perfect balance of flavor and cooked just right. The risotto was smooth and not heavy lumpy tasting. Really magnificent We also tried the Lasagna which was rich and flavorful. Paired this all with a great bottle of IL Bruciato. boom. A perfectly balanced tasting experience for our pallet. And as an added bonus last night, we were seated near Sam Elliott. So you never know who you'll run into at this gem of a place. Great place for a date night or for those wanting to try something else beyond the typical fancy chain type restaurant.

So glad I decided to try this place out. It has gotten more upscale and refined than it used to be which is a nice change. The older space had a lot of nostalgia to it. Most importantly my prosciutto sandwich on French bread with a side of fries was so friggin good. Then I continued to throw caution to the wind and had some soft serve for dessert because they have it there so why not? Patio seating chill vibe, Malibu people watching.

At first, we loved the baked goods of "Scott's Malibu Market" and tried a bunch of different items - sprinkle cookie, chocolate chip cookie, marble loaf and the snickerdoodle cookie. All were amazing! We also enjoyed our breakfast date with the BEC sandwich on brioche and egg platter with sourdough toast. For the food, it is a great place and a nice option for breakfast and lunch, and for a sweet treat! However, the staff is unwelcoming and provides a cold experience! For example, when you are ordering - they act uninterested and impatient with taking an order. Smiles are hard to come by and even worse is the nasty attitude received when we were trying to help a woman with three large bags of food to her car; when my son attempted to retrieve the remaining bag for her - he was yelled at by the owner, Scott. He preceded to tell my son that he should have been told that we were helping the woman; and never apologized for the tone that he took with my son who was only trying to help the woman with a large order. IDK, maybe offer to help the woman to the car...just an idea since it didn't seem to register that it would've been a nice thing for him to do for his customer! As the owner, he should be setting a better example to his staff and to the community that he serves who are local to or visiting Malibu! It's a shame to have been left with such a bad experience; and hope that he and his staff might read this and change how they manage and serve their customers!

The fried calamari was delicious, it's a typical calamari dish but it was still good. We also got the dolmas with ground beef. Woah, I've never seen such huge dolmas before! It came with a basic side salad, just lettuce and carrot shavings, but it worked, especially with the ginger dressing. Very good size too: half now, half later as "lefties" and 1/2 the Cal's are my jam. I'm typically a full-flavor, spice-forward guy, but this hit the spot. If they had sun-dried tomatoes and I'd added bacon... 10/10. Without, still a solid 8.5! Throw in a pickle slice? 9.0. All good though, I'll be back. Cool little shopping center too. My boyfriend and I got there and she told us to wait for a table to open up then she would seat us; however, we looked and saw multiple tables open and she even sat another party who came after us. We had to ask another server if we could be seated and they seated us shortly after. Vibes: you sit pretty close to other parties and there are a lot of tables in the area. Volume level is fairly loud because of all the people, but it's not an overwhelming loud. Gets busy around brunch/lunch time. On the cuff of being a nicer place to eat in terms of vibes, but because it is near the beach it does feel more chill. Food: I had the build your own fish taco and the Swedish mini pancakes. For the price that I paid, neither was worth it. The fish was kind of dry and flavorless and the best thing about that dish were the veggies. The mini pancakes got mushy quick, so these definitely should be eaten sooner rather than later. The syrup and fruits atop the pancakes were extremely sweet and the dish overall left my stomach feeling heavy. Unfortunately this place is an overpriced tourist trap.

Parking can be tight, the line usually wraps around the shack, and everyone is hungry. But don't let that scare you off--the food is absolutely worth the wait. I've been here three times now, and one thing has never changed: the 3-piece fried fish and fries is mandatory. The portions are huge, and I'm calling it now... the best fish and chips in Los Angeles. The fish is unbelievably crispy on the outside, perfectly flaky on the inside, and fried exactly the way it should be. I used to order the fried seafood combo, which comes with fish, shrimp, scallops, and calamari. Everything is good, but the fish and shrimp are the stars, so now I just order the fish and chips with fried shrimp à la carte. One item that deserves way more attention on Yelp is the ceviche. It's ridiculously fresh, loaded with flavor, and served with crispy fried tortilla chips. Honestly, I'd order it every visit. The clam chowder is good too, but the ceviche steals the spotlight. The lobster roll is another surprise. I love Broad Street Oyster Company's lobster roll, but it's over almost as soon as it starts. Malibu Seafood's version is much more generous while still being packed with fresh lobster. Don't sleep on the steamed mussels either. Order a pound for the table and make sure you save the bread for the broth. That broth alone is worth coming back for. I always finish it off with one of their fresh-squeezed lemonades--the perfect pairing after a day at the beach. Seating can take a little patience too, but that's part of the experience. Grab a table overlooking the ocean and PCH if you can. Fresh seafood, ocean breeze, and flip-flops still covered in sand... that's Malibu done right. No reservations. No fancy dress code. Just outstanding seafood in one of the best casual beachside spots around. I'll keep coming back.

We also got the seared Ahi tuna sandwich, which I would say was delicious but I suspect it may have been the culprit of about three days of stomach issues. I also had the sweet potato fries with a couple of different dipping sauces. So either the tuna or the dipping sauces definitely carried some bacteria that caused issues for a couple of days.
