My husband and I went out to Malibu last weekend and we were craving pizza, so we decided to try D'Amores. (We had seen a documentary about D'Amores. The guy who made the film said that this is the best pizza he's ever had.) We were excited to see that they offer a variety of pizzas by the slice, so we got four slices to share -- BBQ Chicken, Bianco (my favorite), Combination (my husband's favorite), and Hawaiian. Every slice was delicious, and the crust was perfection. Joe, the owner, said he imports all the ingredients directly from Italy, and you can tell. The pizza is fantastic! We come to Malibu often, and we'll definitely be back for some more D'Amores! read more

Driving down PCH got drawn by a sign reading "World Famous Pizza" and now I know why! I busted a U-Turn to find my way back and am so glad I did! I immediately saw it was a very popular location amongst celebrities with all the pictures of those who have visited along the wall. I ordered the Meat Lover's slice and it was AMAZING!!! Big huge slice with enough of each and every topping. Beyond fresh as well! The crust was thin enough to not over stuff but crispy and sturdy enough to sustain the hefty fresh ingredients. As I received I got a chance to meet Joe (the owner). He was beyond welcoming and inviting as he took the moment to stop what he was doing to genuinely connect with me asking where I was from and how I came across the place. He shared with me the lengths he goes to get fresh ingredients from Naples (just the way his grandma would).When I complimented the pizza after taking a h bite he humbly replied, "Don't thank me, thank my grandma. (Pointing up to a pick of her and him). These are all her recipes." As I enjoyed my slice I saw Joe make the effort to connect with each and every guest and genuinely get to know them. On my way out he addressed me by name and wished me a great Easter and invited me to return. He was also gracious enough to advise me to be careful with the speed limit on PCH as they been cracking down on speeders along the highway. What a great guy! I see that it's not just the pizza that is world famous but his GENUINE hospitality to go along with it! Shout out to his cooks too who where busy hustling-and-bustling with big order after big order of multiple pizzas. We were on vacation in Los Angeles and wanted to come to Nobu and have a midday snack. As we parked our car, we noticed this pizza place across the street. After having drinks and some appetizers that were overpriced with mediocre quality, we decided to save our appetite and pockets and head over to the pizza place we saw. So happy we did! The two gentlemen working there were very friendly, we talked about them preparing a big order and he even gave us a garlic roll to sample. We got a couple slices of pizza, just the way youd picture it, on a thin paper plate, foldable, the real New York style. We stopped in here for a lunch while we were in Malibu. We are walking to the beach and say hey here's a pizza joint let's go in here. We struck up a conversation with the owners son and it was pretty awesome. He told us lotta good stories, and we had a great time and he told us all the life experience, and I feel like I was on the behind the scenes TV show talking to him while they made my food. There's an elevator to go upstairs to eat on the rooftop, which we took a vantage of and get to see the ocean and the pizza itself was tasty and then like I like, and it was good crusting flavorful. Honestly, I'm disappointed in the price compared to the quality of the pizza. I never thought in a million years I'd pay $19.00 for a slice of plain cheese and a combo slice. The bread kinda tasted like cornmeal. The crust was burned to a crisp which didn't make it any better. The slice may have been big but not worth the $19 cost. There was nothing else open at the time so I was stuck with this option. Glad I tried this place to know to never go back. read more

D'Amores is a small pizza shop inside a strip mall across from the beach on Pacific Coast Highway. This is one of many strip malls owned by a close friend of mine, who suggested I try this pizza place. It's located towards the left corner and offers free parking in the lot or on the stretch of PCH. This is my second visit here. There are two D'Amores pizza in Malibu and yesterday I posted a review for the wrong location on Heathercliff. The correct location I had been to was Pacific Coast Highway in Carbon Beach, the ritzier part of Malibu. Yesterday, while out and about in Malibu, I stopped by and ordered a couple of slices of pizza , and a togo order of their famous baked ziti with eggplant. Luckily it was during the lunch special hours and the baked ziti included a small salad, drink and a garlic knot. Due to COVID, limited people allowed inside to order, masks, gloves and social distancing was required. Limited outdoor seating next to the parking lot. Better outdoor seating was rooftop with an awesome ocean view. The staff were nice and friendly and helped bring my food order. The elevator to the rooftop was very helpful and seating layout with live trees and plants was cool. The ocean view while eating pizza was pretty great, except for the roar of vehicles on PCH. Also, no wifi and cellular reception is patchy and poor. The restaurant doesn't offer wifi, which for Carbon Beach Malibu standards is disappointing. The pizzas were delish and the one taste bite of the baked ziti was heavenly. Recommend. read more

We stopped off here to get a few slices of cheese pizza. They were about 8 dollars each, which was a bit much but OK fine. The person at the cash register would barely acknowledge us, and was rude and unfriendly. The pizza was pretty bad, with lots of sauce and not much cheese, also way too much cornmeal on the bottom of the crust. I went back for some utensils for my daughter and the other guy working there wasn't helpful or friendly either. We wouldn't recommend it. read more
