March 22, 2026 | Malibu | While a friend was in town, he introduced me to Neptune's Net! I had heard about this restaurant for years & was excited to dine here! Friendly customer service, tasty food, casual place, beach across the street and plenty of parking, love it! Fish & Shrimp Combo | Both are quite flavorful, as well as plentiful! The fish was tender, and seasoned well! I also enjoyed the shrimp!! I would easily get this combo again! I thought the portion was huge, depends on how hungry you are, easily shareable for me! The fries were tasty too! I skipped the slaw, because I'm not into coleslaw! Drinks | Huge selection of drinks! We combined watermelon water w/passionfruit drink with coconut water, it was delicious, as well as refreshing! Seating | Inside & outside! Customer | Friendly with a smile & helpful with the menu! Other customers sitting near us were friendly here as well! The place was packed and I was happy we found a table! Parking | Free & plentiful! Restrooms | When we arrived, I wanted to wash my hands! Saw an open, partially covered porta potty style bathroom; went inside of the restaurant instead & asked if there was a restroom inside. No; I went back outside & I was able to wash my hands at the sink. A guy nearby heard my friend and I talking & jokingly asked if I had ever been to the beach. Funny guy! I live by the beach; go inside of my place when nature calls or if I need to wash my hands. I'm just not used to this style of restroom. Outside | Right across the street is the beach! Be careful crossing the street, as it's PCH! We saw plenty of surfers enjoying the waves, enjoyed the gorgeous sunset, as well as the rest of the view! I even saw a few gorgeous flowers! Overall | It was nice finally trying a bite at Neptune's Net! I'm looking forward to returning and exploring more of the menu!
I have been wanting to come to this place for years. Yes it is because of Fast and Furious movie but also because I love the beach and love trying seafood anywhere near the water. This place is a walk up and order restaurant but you cannot beat the views that it has. If you want a drinks you have to buy it from a cooler so no fountain drinks. The clam chowder was amazing and I would come here again for that alone. The fish was really fresh and very lightly breaded in the fish and chips and tacos.
I've been coming to Neptune's Net for years as a local, and the food has always kept me coming back. The peel-and-eat shrimp, crab cakes, shrimp and chips -- all great as usual, and we spent a good amount of money expecting the same experience we've always had. Unfortunately, this visit ended on a bad note. Staff started mopping well before closing, and the strong cleaning chemical smell completely took over the dining area. Honestly, it smelled like a public restroom and totally ruined the atmosphere while we were still eating. I understand cleaning needs to happen, but doing it that early and that aggressively while customers are still dining really took away from the experience. Disappointing, especially for a place we've supported for years.
3.5 stars Tired of camp food, we opted to dinner at Neptune's Net instead. The main counter primarily serves fried fare. The side door is where you get steamed stuff. They have a really impressive drink situation. You can grab your drink from a large selection of refrigerated drinks. We shared the following: -fried fish tacos ($17.95): deep fried seasonal white fish, pineapple slaw, pico de gallo, avocado sauce + cilantro on corn tortilla -triple combo basket ($28.95): 1 portion of calamari, 1 portion of clam strips, and 6 shrimp I was hyped for the fish tacos, but they were just mid. There was no real sauce to bind the taco - the advertised crema was scarce, and the avocado sauce could hardly qualify. I'd prefer real avocado slices, but alas, such was not the case. The breaded fish was also slim and were a little dry. The triple combo was fine, but the calamari was chew city. We missed the memo and didn't order the clam chowder. Will be ordering that next time. If you're this far up on the 1, you should stop by Neptune's.

I ordered clam chowder in a bread bow. Flavor was text book. The view is excellent and plenty of parking spot. When we were done eating I saw plenty of people coming in. Lucky we came here early.
The best spot to grab a beer, some seafood and a sunset! And the service is great! The guys working the order desk are always so nice and the guys working the patio dining are do a great job staying on top of cleaning the tables for the customers. Food is good, plenty of parking and they're even putting in a crosswalk out front after all these years!! Been coming since 1980... we always run across the hwy to get to the beach - dodging cars LOL! Highly recommend!
Finally visited this iconic spot featured in various movies and most notably in Fast & Furious. Amazing views, solid service, good food/large portions. Went on a weekday morning, there was no line service was quick with lots of seating available. The Neptune's Net Sampler was huge and can definitely feed at least 3 people. Clam chowder was classic.
Full disclosure, I came here with a group for a pre-ordered lunch so probably not the same experience you'd have. I dunno, it's not how I remember from years back, but then everything was a bit rosier before the pandemic, right? It's still a classic scenically great stop on PCH in Malibu, and the rustic fish shack vibe is still there, but the heavily breaded Fish tacos I had this time were a bit underwhelming-- practically all breading and not much flavor. Still a choice spot for lounging and taking in the relaxing view of the ocean from the picnic tables on the open- but-covered deck, and the staff there is always helpful and very patient. Very chill vibe here, which is also great. Bathrooms are your basic porta potties tho, kind of a buzzkill, but I guess on-brand.
(+) Iconic spot on PCH, gorgeous ocean views from the patio seating. (+) Neptune's Net Sampler was a beast of a plate of food. Good to share and try multiple things for our 1st time here. Appreciated all the condiments readily available and ice water dispenser too. (+) Free bonus flip flops shaped in the highway sign was a nice surprise. Food was ok, just a bit underwhelming. It's the location and the scenery that I imagine most people come here for anyway. FYI - bathrooms are outside by the parking lot.
3.5 stars rounded to 4 It's been a few years since I've been to Neptune's Net. The place usually looks busy when I drive by it on PCH. Nice drive here coming from LA. Lucked out on a Thursday and was able to find parking right away. It's very chill here. & yes there's usually lots of bikers that come here. There's 2 entrances & 2 different counters to order at. The main counter has all the fried food while the back entry has all the steamed seafood. On the main side, grab your drinks from the refrigerator, then lineup to order food at the counter. They give you a receipt with your order number. You seat yourself. Both indoor and covered outdoor seating. Clam chowder was ok. Definitely a lot of clams in it and soup consistency is thinner... Fish & Chips were ok but a decent size. Breaded, but not an overly greasy batter. I did have to drench it in the tartar sauce. At least the fish wasn't overly salty... French fries were mid... Calamari, I actually liked. Maybe because of the light batter. It was a tad chewy if that's your preference. I'll always remember the iconic Fast & the Furious scene. We miss you Paul! read more
If you're driving along the Pacific Coast Highway, Neptune's Net is a fun place to stop for fresh seafood with a side of California history. Open since 1958, this iconic seafood shack has also been featured in The Fast and the Furious, making it a popular destination for both food lovers and movie fans. We ordered the clam chowder, a three-item fried seafood combo (shrimp, clams, and calamari), upgraded the fries to onion rings for an extra $4.95, a hamburger, steamed mussels, and raw oysters. The onion rings and clam chowder were my favorite dishes. Clam chowder wasn't overly salty, had plenty of potatoes, and I was happy to find a good amount of clams. The fried seafood combo was a mixed experience. The shrimp was fresh, but the calamari wasn't as crispy as I expected. Unfortunately, the fried clams were disappointing because I mostly tasted the batter, which was a bit overcooked, and couldn't really taste the clams. Looking back, I wish I had ordered the crab cakes and scallops instead--my friends said those were the highlights of their meal. The steamed mussels were fresh, but pretty plain on their own. The melted butter provided helped add some flavor. The raw oysters were fresh and tasted good. The hamburger was just okay--nothing particularly memorable. Parking (free) was surprisingly easy for a Friday lunchtime visit, and one of the best parts is the location. The beach is directly across the street, so it's easy to enjoy a walk by the ocean before or after your meal. Service was excellent and helpful when placing order. Showed me where to get water and utensils. One thing to note is that there isn't a restroom inside the restaurant. Instead, there are portable public restrooms located in the parking lot. Overall, Neptune's Net is worth visiting at least once for the classic roadside seafood experience, ocean views, and movie history. While not every dish impressed me, the clam chowder, shrimp, and the unbeatable Malibu location made it an enjoyable stop. read more

It's good to be back at this nostalgic place. It's been too long and I have seen the growth with the upgrades. I had my first fried chicken melt and ate it on my drive back home on PCH. What a treat. The view of county line surf spot doesn't hurt the eyes also. read more

Nice location. The fish and chips were subpar for the cost. The coleslaw lacked flavor and didn't want to finish it. Being from the PNW I was very disappointed with the clam chowder, lacked seasoning and was not as thick as a chowder should be. Not worth visiting for food. read more
Neptune's Net has always had a good reputation to local Californian's, or even travelers and visitors wanting to check this off of their list. Most of my times here are good, but my boyfriend and I showed up at 8pm the other day to grab some food to go, and was met with a closing restaurant! I guess it must have been slow or something, because the moment we walked in, they closed it down! I had to double check the website to make sure I wasn't going crazy, and it said that they closed at 8:30pm on that day exactly, not 8pm. A lot of people are local, but still have to go somewhat out of your way to hit this place, and I'd probably wait awhile until I go again because of this: no warning, no website update, no NOTHING. read more
Stopped here with two friends on the beginning of a road trip to San Francisco. I remember this place when I was a kid in the 60s, so I stop when I'm out that way. The food was good, though the tartar sauce isn't what I remember it from a few years ago. Not sure why. The staff was friendly and helpful. Been having this spot saved for a long time lol hoping we can make it out to LA one day and I made sure this past weekend we stopped before heading back home I'm me and my family are so glad we did. Pulling up to this spot felt like a movie set lol bikers weee lining up outside the place was pretty packed and it's literally right across the water. We knew there would be a wait but it was so worth it. Love everything about it from the menu and customer service it was all on point. Amazing tasteful seafood. They have a condiment stand and sell merchandise which my kids had to get a shirt they sell out of black Ts pretty quick. There is a few porta potty's out back with sinks to wash hands. As you walk through the line you have so many options for drinks mom and with alcohol which I really like the variety. Definitely love this spot and will be coming back read more

Neptune's Net is such a classic PCH stop, especially if you're riding. Pulling up on a bike with the ocean right across the road just feels very Southern California. We ordered the fried calamari and a couple of canned beers and it was exactly what you want in this setting. The calamari was crispy, hot, and perfect for sharing while taking in the view. Nothing fancy, just well done and satisfying. An ice cold canned beer paired perfectly with the salty ocean breeze and made it easy to sit back and enjoy the moment. The outdoor seating and scenery are really the highlight here. It is casual, laid back, and ideal for bikers and road trippers looking for a scenic break. Prices are a bit high for simple food, but you're paying for the location and the experience. Great spot to relax, people watch, and enjoy some fried seafood with a beer by the ocean. Food was horrible, overcooked shrimp and fish. So overly that it gave a bitter taste. Service was nice the Asian gentleman was nice and kind. Ambiance wasn't too bad being a beach side stop. Would have been nicer if you can actually see the sunset but there were sand dunes and a tree blocking the sun set. But for just a stop to sink in the Fast and the Furious stop, it wasn't too bad read more

Neptunes net is a fun and friendly restaurant where bikers and family congregate! Where good seafood meets the belly of hungry foodies! Service is cool! And friendly the owner gave me a free soda cause I told him I was having a bad day! Thanks brudddaaaa! Also they have views of the beautiful ocean right acrosss the street from the restaurant. Service was the worst. We had a very short old guy taking our order.... First time at Neptunes net and we just wanted some recommendations and had a couple questions about the food. We asked about the clam chowder.... not only did he point behind in a very general manner towards the written menu above him, he FULLY walked away from us after giving the most vague response.... He came back 5 minutes later and the first thing he said was "are you guys ready now?". How rude! No customer service skills. Retire that pos. We had the clam chowder... amazing. We also got a double combo (shrimp and calamari) and for $25 it was NOT worth it. Very mid Besides that the outside view with the sunset coming down is amazing! read more

Service is super fast, even when it's busy, and the place is very clean, which I really appreciated. The food is decent, but honestly, the quality could be a bit better for the price. Still, it's a fun, classic spot to grab a quick bite by the beach. read more
It's one of the only restaurants in this area. Good amount of seating with great views. Casual vibes, good portions and tasty food. There are two sides: the fried air and the steamed side. FYI: you have to pay to park in the lot and it's cash only. read more
This is the perfect lunch spot for vacationing. We got the sampler to try a little bit of everything and it was so good. Still picking at it at the table because I can't stop being fat. There's a little fried side and a grilled/steamed side I guess. We didn't realize this, so we got a pile of fried which was still SOOOOOO GOOD. You basically grab your drink then place your order and pick it up at a window once they call your number. Super easy. All this and the fact that it's beachside make this a must try when you're in the 'bu. read more

I guess I was expecting something special but did not expect Denny's quality food. To be completely honest, I am shocked at the quality. 2 orders of fries totally soggy, subpar crab cakes, horrendously jack in the box style chicken strips. World famous? For what? The view? read more
After the Palisade fires, the PCH was closed for nearly 5 months. With the highway recently opening I took the opportunity to drive up and eat at Neptune's Net in Malibu. You still order at the register and they call you when your order is ready. The hallway of drink coolers always makes me laugh - but they have just about any drink you would want! The workers are still friendly and the restaurant is still clean just like I remembered it. There is still indoor seating, with some outdoor seating available. (Just watch for the birds if you eat on the patio - they can be aggressive! The portion sizes are still generous! The fish is two huge pieces (just about a whole fish!). The scallops are cooked perfectly and are still my favorite! Can't wait to go back! read more

This seafood spot in Malibu is right across from the beach. It's in a prime location and also known for being featured in the fast and the furious movie. The food here is fresh and so good. We had the clam chowder bread bowl and the shrimp and fish plate. All our food came out pipping hot and not greasy. I love the outdoor seating and the views of the beach. Highly recommend and will be back. read more
I got a lot of food! I wanted to try the "world famous" New England clam chowder. Now, I'm from New England so I was confused as to why this is a thing in CA. I asked the guy at the counter to make sure it wasn't some random chowder that they put bacon in. IYKYK. They don't so I got a small 8 oz of that. I also did the fish and chips. They have a huge hallway of coolers with drinks so be sure to look and grab before you get in line. I got my number after I ordered it my food was ready very quickly. My friends and i were able to snag a table out in the deck. The chowder was very good. I'll give it to them! I liked the fish and chips breading. It was very crunchy. They had help yourselves to condiments which was nice to be able to get what you need. The view is incredible because you're looking right at the ocean. I enjoyed this place for sure! read more
This restaurant is located right at the county border line and directly across from the ocean. It's a unique little seafood place that always entertains. If you come near sunset, you'll get amazing views from wherever you sit and on the weekends might have some motorcycles to check out while you're there. The place is set up as two sides, with the left being more like a traditional fried fish restaurant, and the right side being more of a seafood place where you can buy live seafood or get more fresh type food to eat. Both sides have the same seating area, but the seafood side is often overlooked, check it out! Good service and friendly staff, my order of the fish and chips, came up extremely quick, can't wait to come back! read more

Neptune's Net is located on the pacific Coast Highway in Malibu! We have been wanting to try this restaurant for a while, so we took our dad for an early Father's Day lunch! The restaurant has plenty of parking as well as plenty of seating! It also frequents bikers as there is motorcycle parking out front as well! The menu is located inside of the restaurant. They have a whole wall of coolers to pick drinks from. They have a variety of beers, sodas, juices and more! Definitely grab your drink before ordering to make the process smooth! We ordered the fish and shrimp basket with French fries and the shrimp basket upgraded to onion rings. The ranch sauce is .25 cents extra. Our order came out pretty fast and when we saw it we were shocked with how big the pieces of fish were! They have all of the condiments you would need on the side of the patio. Their cocktail sauce and the tartar sauce is delicious!!! The fish were perfectly cooked, crispy on the outside and a perfectly juicy inside! The shrimp were really good too, we were just disappointed with the size of them compared to the fish. It's almost the same price for the baskets but with the fish one you get 6 shrimp instead of 8 so that's the only downside. The portions for the fish and shrimp basket were huge and we ended up grabbing a to-go box. When it comes to the fries vs onion rings, definitely pick the onion rings!! They taste delicious with the ranch sauce and the fries are very basic! The only other thing we didn't like about the restaurant was there were no bathrooms in the restaurant and instead there were port-a-potty's out back. The view is nice, the ocean is right across the road. It's always busy when we drive by and it got super busy after we ordered! We definitely would go back here! read more
One last visit to Neptune's Net to catch the Pacific Sunset. The spot is a PCH icon. Numerous movies n television cameos have been shot on or around this jewel. Location Location Location! The view says it all. As for the restaurant. it's over priced, fish is middle of the road, served hot but very greasy coming direct from the fryer. Serving portions are fair.Bottom line it's a place to be seen or be in a scene. Nothing more. Great meet up spot. Nothing fancy. Sunsets here are Amazing. read more

I grew up coming to neptunes net so it will always hold a special place in my heart. The best part is you are on the water and the scenery is beautiful. While the price of the food has gone up, the quality has not. For $26 you get a 2 item combo with fries and coleslaw. I felt like the fish tasted burnt and was fried for too long. The shrimp was good but I feel like for the value it was not great. There are tables both inside and outside which is nice and ordering is easy to do up front. You then sit down and wait for them to call your number. The parking lot is small and can fill up quickly. And the bathrooms are porta potties so be prepared. I come back for the memories and not necessarily for the food. read more

Yes they survived because they are way north in Malibu. But Moonshadows burned down.
Do they deliver?
I'd recommend calling the restaurant directly. However I'm sure you could get a pick up from Door Dash or one of the other delivery apps.
Are there many gluten-free options? Are staff helpful when negotiating food allergies?
They offer steamed seafood and the staff are very nice. Would be suprised if they didnt offer to accommodate you.

Hello Rochelle, short answer is no. Service animals are allowed on our patio. Although, many people bring their dogs and tie them nearby their tables. Hope that helps!
