Most people probably come here for the ambiance. The restaurant is very pretty, and the decor and interior complement each other perfectly. Since it's our first time, we got a taste of samba. The multi-course tasting menu has a 2-person minimum, so we could try everything in small bites. It was a lot, not gonna lie; even in smaller bites, it filled you up pretty quickly. It was $95 per person for the multi-course tasting. The food itself was not bad at all. It was pretty tasty. But don't come here for authentic Japanese sushi. It's a mix of Japanese, Brazilian, and Peruvian flavors. Service is somewhat slow. They rarely check on you, which I don't mind and actually prefer. I'd rather call them if I need something. They also have valet, which makes it easier. Overall, a good experience.

Decent sushi quality, nigiri was just passable. Uni was fresh and tasty though Enjoyed the tiraditos, highly recommend! Fresh and enjoyable flavor profiles. Skip the chicken, the miso cod was a crowd fave Spicy tuna crispy rice was good but not great. Service was very good and the interior was so cute! Love the breeze

Forks Given: (3.72/5.0) "@sushisamba.la is a beautiful room with a brunch menu that delivers and sashimi that does not." Highlights from the table: Braised Short Rib: great short rib, right amount of saltiness, fall-apart beef, limited sauce Blueberry Yuzu Pancakes: right amount of yuzu, lots of berries, excellent Rock Shrimp Burger: pretty solid, good flavors, lots of shrimp The Starters: fire The roof was closed for the rain but it still felt open air. The signature cocktails ran too sweet and the sashimi was just fine, so stick to brunch. Finally made it to Sushisamba. Last Thursday. 5:45 reservation. I had heard about it's coming. it's opening. And how challenging it had been to get in a reservation. I couldn't believe it when I checked last week - for the same week for an early dinner. Anyway ... Parking. I chose Valet. It's $20 for two+ hours. Go over 3 hours and it's $30. Or try your luck with street parking. I saw meters but don't know the restrictions. Also parking on Melrose. Don't know about the restrictions there either. Check the signs. Walk into and take the elevator up to the rooftop. Exit left to the bar. Right to the dining area. I went straight to the bar as I arrived on "Ran" time. Early. Had a few drinks before my friend arrived. Bartender's drinks were nicely balanced. I don't remember the names of the drinks but they were all smooth and tasty. I'd order each one again. When my friend arrived, she and I were ushered to our booth. Large booth that can easily sit five or six - for just the two of us. No complaints though as I saw some of the two toppers and they were pretty tiny. Service was good. I don't remember our server's name but he and his team were attentive, friendly and pretty efficient. Twice I had to stop them from clearing plates because I was grazing while catching up with my friend. Enjoyed the food. For me, what stood out was the salad and the dessert. I devoured the salad not leaving one single leaf in the bowl. I wasn't just starving, but I loved the flavors mixed in with the ingredients. Something about the combination just worked for me. And the dessert - the pics I posted doesn't do it justice. I was like - where's the dessert. I have rocks and weeds. All edible - the presentation was on the level that I see on TV and sit there thinking how painstakingly patient you have to be to create something to detailed like that. As for the other dishes, I enjoyed them, but didn't love them. Nice portion cuts of Sashimi. The other small plates - good flavors and taste but I wasn't blown away. My take is this - good food. Better scenery & vibes. But I know I'll be back. I'd like to try a few more things off the menu. It's not like it's bad - and I'd like to experience the rooftop when I'm not sweating my ass off.

Sushisamba for the win! My partner and I were reluctant to give this place a try given all the Hollywood "hype" it's been getting. These sorts of places are usually like a fantastical display of fireworks that appear great at first but then quickly fizzle out. I certainly hope that's not the case with Sushisamba. It's a gorgeous space that somehow converted a rooftop pool area into a comfortable and unique dining venue. The welcoming atmosphere with curated music and a popping vibe immediately make you feel like you've been transported into a tropical paradise. What really excels, however, was the food and service. Daisy, our server, was casual and friendly, but did her job perfectly. Exactly what you would imagine when dining on the beaches of Brazil. We were lucky enough to get the tasting menu, which gave us the highlights of the menu. It was all phenomenal! Appetizers, ceviches, cooked sea bass and lamb along with roasted corn. By the time the sushi came along we had already gone so overboard that we couldn't keep going. The morsels we did try, however, were equally fresh and fabulous as everything else. Was a great Sunday night vibe. Would definitely come back and bring some friends along.

Came here for a girl's night, and what a perfect ambiance just for that. It has a vibrant lively atmosphere with it's colorful umbrella type structures surrounding this outdoor venue. The center is a sunken dining area, with the sides and back area elevated, so its multilevel environment gives the place even more character and movement. 11/10 on ambiance. The 5 of us were seated at a half circle booth. The open kitchen was right behind us, which was a treat, as you can view the chefs cooking the dishes along with the sushi chefs making their creations. The servers seem to work as a team, as multiple people were helping us throughout the night, with one main person as our head server. Our table was cleaned and cleared as we ate, which I appreciated, but at the same time, also made us feel a bit rushed. I understand that it was a busy night, so they probably wanted us in and out. But just pointing this out as a caution, in case you're wanting to linger... maybe order as you eat to slow down the pace. We had ordered everything at once, and it came extremely fast. I'd give the service 8.5/10. I enjoyed the food, as it was a bit different than your typical sushi place, since it's a Japanese and Peruvian inspired restaurant. Most of their dishes had a bit of a spice. I like spicy food, so it was great for me. My favorite was the black cod, which just melts in your mouth. The plates are a bit small for the price, but that's expected. Overall, I thought the food was delicious 9/10.

Do you want the good news or the bad news first? The bad news is that there was no central air, so it was very hot and there was only standing fans available for circulation and service was very slow. The good news is that the aesthetics, food and drinks were all amazing. Parking is $21.74 with valet. They offer a great deal for bunch which is $65 for 5 courses. Plus they have a live Dj playing house music with a sprinkle of today's hits. Our waiter Spiro was nice but wasn't the most attentive and took over 10 minutes to greet us once we were seated. We had to ask randoms for water refills, cutlery and extra napkins. We ended up turning one of the fans to blow on our table to save the day. I'm not sure if this is normal or if the AC went out but if you come during a warm day, dress light and loose. Everything we ordered to eat and drink was very delicious!

Really enjoyed this spot. The rooftop atmosphere is beautiful and the whole place has such a good vibe. Everything we ordered was really good. We had the brazillian bread, black cod, yellowtail hamachi, spicy tuna crispy rice, a couple of sushi rolls, and lychee martinis. The black cod was definitely the standout for me. It literally melts in your mouth and was my favorite dish of the night. The one thing I did notice was that the service felt a little rushed. A lot of our food came out at once, and it felt like our table was being cleared quite often. My thoughts are that the rooftop is so popular they want to make sure everyone gets to enjoy their time there, which makes sense, it's definitely a hot spot. Overall though, great food, beautiful ambience, and good service. It's definitely a vibe and a spot to check out.

Amazing outdoor rooftop vibes - especially during sunset. It felt kind of like Vegas day club? We came on a Saturday for dinner and didn't have a resy so we had some drinks at the bar to start. Cocktails (5/5): lychee cooler so good we felt like we were transported to an island. My partner said its her new fave cocktail. I got a mango vodka one and it was good as well. Pao (5/5): mochi like bread with cheese butter? Really good and satisfying. We waited 1 hour until our table was ready. Food was mid for how much we paid (total $200) I think the best thing we ate was the Pao bread, so next time I'd skip the food and come for cocktails.

I had dinner 2 different times so my photos is a combo of both. There's valet parking $20 & also usually metered parking on Melose (1 block south) and Santa Monica as well. The drinks was pretty but most of them came with a huge block of ice. But overall the drinks were decent. If you come for early dinner, it can get pretty sunny, but then it can also cool down. The first time I went with a bigger group, they handed out blankets after the sunset. The service was great both times with multiple servers and team members coming around often. Food wise, do not get the Peruvian corn! Those huge corn kernels and no taste what so ever. The green salad is a pile of lettuce and some other items but the dressing was good. But every thing was good, it tasted fresh but my favorites were: Kobe TAQUITOS. Usually they are rolls, but this was in a mini taco shell. Still good! Tiger Maki for the roll was unique and flavorful. Portuguese bread was great, I added a bump of caviar, and it went so well with the truffle butter. Grilled Chicken Thigh was also decent and had a nice char. Plantain chips: absolutely loved these The nigiri was presented beautifully! The mochi for dessert was also delicious and fabulous. The mushroom large plate had a good amount of truffles in it. I didn't taste it but someone next to me ordered it and I could smell it. This place is hip and cool, and people dress up to come here. Overall it's a little pricey but overall a good experience. Very on trend!

One of my gfs and I came for their DineLA menu selection and was pleasantly surprised with the portions and selections they included. The dineLA option came out to about ~$75/pp including tips for brunch and it stuffed us and we were able to take plenty left overs to go as well. Everything came out very quickly as well! There were 2 starters: cheese balls and string bean tempura (which were bomb!!) The appetizers were ceviche, salmon/tuna/yellow tail sushi roll, and Wagyu gyozas! Our mains came out and we were stuffed by then but there were miso cods on skewer sticks as well as chicken. Lastly, it also came with a banana chocolate dessert. The ambiance and decoration of the restaurant is very pop and made us feel like we were in an episode of Love Island. Every corner in the restaurant is very photo worthy! Our tummies and cameras were full at the end of the brunch.

The vibes here are incredible and I'm so happy we have a new rooftop restaurant in Weho! I have always thought it's so weird LA doesn't have more when we have such great views. The service was good from what I remember and the food was yummy. The fish was super fresh and I loved all the sashimi apps we got and the ceviche! Also love that they had pao de quejo. Drinks were also solid! Wil be back!

I was really looking forward to eating here, the atmosphere at this place is incredible! It's vibrant, it's vibey, however, I will say it's a bit too hot right now in the summer. I will say the food is good, but just be prepared that you're paying for the environment as well! The best bite is the pao de queijo, they're baked fresh and come out popping hot. And the truffle butter pairs perfectly with it. The Bosso Nova roll on the other hand, had the thinnest slice of wagyu, I could barely taste it. Overall, I think this is a great vibey spot and the food is decent. I was really looking forward to eating here, the atmosphere at this place is incredible! Some standouts for me: the kampachi ceviche (fresh and bright), the causita crocante (so satisfying), the seafood chaufa paella (packed with flavor), the grilled octopus (perfectly tender), and the camarones (SO good). The cocktails here are fantastic -- balanced, creative, and just fun to drink. I've had the Chicha Gin Fizz both as a cocktail and as a mocktail (equally delicious!) and the Quita Calzón was another hit. I also appreciate that they offer great mocktail options for non-drinkers. One steak was a perfectly reasonable portion, while the other was this tiny sad piece of steak and I paid the exact same price for it. That's what really bothered me. I understand that steaks can vary slightly in size and shape, but this was not a slight difference. When I'm paying the same premium price, I expect reasonably comparable portions. Getting one good-sized steak and one significantly smaller piece for the exact same price just doesn't feel fair. I've been a repeat customer and have ordered this dish many times, which is why I was especially disappointed. I'm not asking for anything unreasonable, I just expect the portion to match what I'm paying for!
