A Peruvian style restaurant between Vine st & De Longpre Ave. LA. Open sitting, ambiance is good and of course the food is excellent! Check it out and have fun!

Incredible Peruvian ceviche! Some of the best I have had in LA. Prices are a little on the high side but well worth it!

This restaurant is a pop up, as I'm sure you're aware by the Yelp name. The service was amazing. The menu is influenced by Italy and Peru. They even have a secret bar in the back with late night tacos and delicious margaritas - I'm not kidding about the margaritas! SO good. So for the food, we ordered the salmon crudo, the lamb and the sea bass. The lamb was very tasty and presented in a fun way with bread, lettuce and sauce. You could make lettuce wraps or regular wraps! The salmon crudo melts in your mouth and it was probably the best thing. I wish we could eat an unlimited amount of this! Overall great food! They couldn't make any substitutions and we had a dairy allergy so we couldn't get any of the pastas.

A few years ago, I went to a pop up featuring Ricardo Zarate. Been a fan ever since. So, when a friend suggested we try his pop up at Los Balcones (Colobri), she didn't have to twist my arm very hard. First off - make reservations. Not a big place and the outdoor seating doesn't appear to be in use. There is a bar but not a lot of seating there either. Saw a handful of people try to walk in but left because no seating available and I guess they either didn't want to wait or they were turned away. It's Hollywood. Good luck with parking. There's a metered lot behind the restaurant but the lot is small. Otherwise, other nearby lots and there's always street parking. Check the meters and signs for restrictions. Service was pretty good. The team tended to my friend and I - including the hostess as well as someone from behind the bar. I don't remember their names however, they all worked together seamlessly. As for the food and drinks - see pics. Love the drinks. The food I liked a lot. For my taste, I would have liked a little more seasoning but don't get me wrong - the food wasn't bland. I guess another way to say it is that I wished each bite had more of a punch as opposed to jabs. Again, food was good but I wasn't blown away. Having said that - I'd go back with others to share in the experience with them. But I wouldn't go back just because. One last thing I want to add - service charge is automatically included in the bill. There's fine print on the menu stating that. I feel that should be more prominent so people aren't blindsided when the see the bill.

Everything is good here I'll Beyonce, the car service, and of course the food of Chef Ricardo Zaret! Chef, Ricardo's Peru's have a chat I really very tasty and light makes you enjoy the good seafood without any burden! We specially enjoyed their dessert of the ice bar with the mango, coconut and vanilla flavor ice bar

The restaurant is so pretty, you wouldn't think you're in LA; The ambiance is nice and cozy; The hostess and wait staff were great! The drinks: espresso martini, pineapple margarita w/tequila and the special of the night which was the passion fruit drink were great! The food: for appetizers we shared the mushroom tamal and the tallarinas verdes, they were seasoned so good, delicious; our meals: arroz con pollo, lomo salteado and the seafood pasta were yummmmmmmmy ; dessert: fried churros balls and they were something else!!! Overall, everything was perfectly portioned sized and cooked to perfection! A definite must to go and try!!!

Over-priced, overhyped, way too much for way too little. Not the spot for true Peruvian enthusiasts. Many staple dishes cannot be found at the WeHo pop up. One app (see pic) with four pieces of fish, one beer, one glass of wine = $55 + tip. Fish was bland IMO. Beer was meh. I was brought a rosé when I ordered a glass of white. Service was nice but too many people standing around waiting for something to do and kinda felt like they were pushing us to order more when we just wanted a quick bite to hold us over. Love the decor and layout tho. That they bailed. Visually appealing and welcoming, although even there it felt just a little soulless. I was so excited but disappointed. I love a trendy, spendy meal like the next foodie, but I expect to get a wow-ing experience for that. Or at min something satisfying and service to die for. I think many West LA spots put way too much importance on fashion over function, and when you can find so many amazing grubs nearby, it's hard to justify a place to be seen over satisfying fare.

First time coming here. The ambiance is very nice. Food and service were great. Today we celebrated my son's birthday with family. I will definitely return again. The owner mentioned they have been here for 20 years and I'm glad I finally got a chance to eat here. Thank you for the birthday shot....

So good! We search out Peruvian food because my husband is Peruvian. This place was so good. I loved their aji de gallina. My husband had the Lomo. The dessert was to die for. Passion fruit crème brûlée. So good will definitely try again. Worth the trip. Tina was great and so helpful with menu. Super cheerful.

Very limited menu options, hence the 4 stars. We ordered every lunch item for our party of 8. Nice pastas, oysters and fish dishes. Would like to try other items

It's a bummer this is only a pop-up. I guess they're planning on demoing the building soon. Great food and ambiance. The place was super chill and the service was terrific! First time having a Negroni (usually get straight bourbon) - and it was very good! The ceviche Classico was a perfect way to start the dinner. We opted for the lomo saltado and shared the need tamal. Couldn't go wrong w anything you try!

This Peruvian restaurant is still great!! Legit Peruvian food, the pisco sours were delicious, and I was happy to see one of my favorite dishes back in the menu: the ají amarillo. The lúcuma ice cream is always hard to come by and they have it. Such a treat! I was born and raised Peruvian, I am always on the hunt for good Peruvian food. I hadn't been to Balcones for a long time since I moved away and was pleased to be back. The service was prompt, the ambiance was great and the music mix playing was energizing. I am definitely going back.

The main Lomo Saltado was great.

All dishes are carefully crafted with its colorful details, and its simple but bold flavors prepared for you through an open kitchen. This place gets busy the minute they open their doors so make reservations prior. 1. Korean Aguachile: fresh tilefish sashimi with finely sliced cucumber and white floral decor simmered in ice cold kimchee broth they pour at the table. Soooo good. Must order. 2. Soy Marinade Blue Prawn: My favorite dish of the night. Huge raw blue prawns (head attached) marinaded with soy sauce. Served with barley rice topped with Ssam jang (type of bean paste sauce), and seaweed paper. You wrap all ingredients in the seaweed paper to make a hand roll. Soooooo delicious. Can't walk out without trying this. 3. Beef short ribs: good but nothing unique in its flavoring . Beef steak(medium rare and super tender) that's lightly marinaded/glazed (so not overly sweet) with kbbq/short rib sauce. This is one of their fan favorites so I suggest you try it.. 4. Chilled Acorn Noodles: chewy cOLD noodles made with acorn (just like the acorn jelly side dish we eat). The noodles are seasoned with Korean Cho-go-chu-jang (Gochujang paste), crispy cucumber slices, loads of dried seaweed flakes, and perilla oil. And you just mix them all together. Sooo good and paired well with the short ribs. Incredible. 5. Bluefin tuna and trout Bibimbop: like a poke bowl but so much better. Rice at the bottom with loads of lettuce strips, bluefin tuna sashimi, radish slices, and cavier. Seasoned with Korean Cho-go-chu jang (Gochujang paste with a twist of vinegar). Very good as well. For drinks we tried the shikhye slush (shikhye is a Korean sweet rice drink dessert). They used a slushy shikhye base with warm cinnamon and ginger spices and pisco for a kick. Also tried the Sujinggwa manhattan which is sujunggwa (traditional Korean cinnamon ginger dessert tea served cold) and a single malt. This was fabulous. Overall fantastic experience. Fantastic food, cool ambiance's. And great service. Highly highly recommend this place!

Parking: street parking can be rough to find during peak dinner time on weekends but not bad early…read moreevening on weekdays Reservations: Limited availability on Resy makes it seem harder to get though we were able to make one. Tables looked available around 5pm though so walk-ins could be possible. Ambiance: Outside was nice and inside looked dimly lit and romantic. We were seated promptly and service was good. Food: Rice slushy had a strangely strong cinnamon-like taste to it that traditional rice punch doesn't have which was so overpowering, it made it difficult to go back for more sips. Oysters - good though small, enjoyed the kelp mignonette Korean Aguachile - Delicate tilefish completely overwhelmed by cold kimchi broth with actual icy slush in it and small amounts of fish Steak Tartare - The hot stone bowl seemed to defeat the purpose of a tartare, as it cooked the steak once mixed. The perilla leaves were also cut in large strips relative to the beef. Chilled Acorn Noodle - The perilla oil was nonexistent in flavor though the dish didn't need it and was good without. Overall, portions were small for the price and dishes weren't well-executed so despite being excited for more Korean options in West LA, I'd much rather make the drive to Koreatown for better portions, prices, and flavors.

First off, I have to praise 1933 group because I have loved every single bar they have revitalized and this one is no different. In keeping with their MO, The Lucky Tiki is a speakeasy with a vintage vibe. I won't give away how to get in but let's just say, it's near the front of Highland Park Bowl. My husband and I didn't have a reservation, but we were able to put our name in and got seated about an hour or so later. I was amazed as soon as I walked in the door! It's just floor to ceiling decorated with everything tiki. So many fun details and even interactive elements that turn on when a particular drink was ordered. That was probably my favorite part honestly. We ordered the Tiki Diablo, which is a large tiki drink with a flaming volcano. And yes it does have an interactive element. It was really good. Very fruity and strong, but not overly so. Service was excellent. Our waitress was on it and even waited to make sure my husband was back from the bathroom before lighting our drink on fire. We didn't try any food this time, but a lot of people were ordering the Hawaiian pizza. Do with that what you may. Will definitely be back ti try more drinks and food. How about instead of accepting $$$ for a private event that will deny customers their reservation, they make the private event work around what is available? Terrible way of doing business, but I hope they get lots of $$$ and engagement for the privileged private event attendees.

The place definitely gives off those Latin vibes and you feel it once you arrive. As for the food, my boss ordered appetizers for the table, which were shrimp tacos, flautas, and empanadas which were all very good! My favorite were the flautas with guac. For my main dish I went with the Chilean sea bass with a side of broccolini and rice. That sea bass was phenomenal! It had a nice sweet glaze on it with a very slit crisp texture on the top. I've been waiting to try this place for ages so on the drive back to work I was excited to steal a piece of meat from the bag. Initial bite flavor was good, meat was tender just a bit on the chewy side.. I wasn't bothered by it too much as I'd have to leave it in an oven warmer at work. Trying to keep food warm, in doing so, I knew there'd be only two possible outcomes, melting tender or either tough & dry. So, the dish of meat and rice sat in the warmer for almost an hour hour and a half. The downhill slope.... Set the "meat " on the veggies and began to eat. Meat after meat, I kept experiencing the same exact texture. It was the same exact rubbery chew, I initially tasted. Each and every piece was the same exact flavor. There was no peak, there was no pitfall. If you cook or grill, you know this is a red flag. Normally, consistency would be a good thing, a Master craftsman type experience, but this was NOT it.
