I was looking for a place to have a drink and grab dinner before a concert nearby. The menu looked decent so I thought I would give it a shot. I met up with a few other members of a fan club and we had a couple drinks and some food. The tequila selection is not too bad, there were a handful of additive-free options that I saw. The drinks were average priced for a tourist area, the house margarita hit the spot. I ordered Carne Asada fries, and it was as good as a number of Taqueria's near my hometown. There are a number of options for seating. You can belly up to the main bar, grab a table inside, grab a table on the sidewalk, or on the patio. Used to love coming to Te'Kila when it actually felt like a Hollywood bar. There used to be DJs, loud music, packed crowds, and a fun nightlife vibe. I came back recently and it honestly felt like a completely different place. There were maybe 4 people sitting at the bar, no DJ, just random background songs playing, not even a TouchTunes setup. The bartenders and wait staff were all wearing matching polos and the whole place gave off more of a golf club restaurant vibe than a Hollywood Blvd bar. The food and drinks were still great, which is the only reason this isn't a total disaster, but the atmosphere was dead. Nobody working there even seemed happy to be there, and most people looked like they were just stopping for one drink before heading somewhere else. It feels like they're trying way too hard to become some corporate-style restaurant instead of embracing the fun bar scene they used to have -- which makes no sense considering they're literally surrounded by bars and clubs and the whole venue is centered around the bar itself. What really said it all was watching groups walk up, look inside, and then head over to the bar down the patio walkway instead. I ended up doing the same thing after dinner. I've been to Te'kila once before but only for drinks! This time we got food and it was good! I got the chicken flautas from the appetizers because I wasn't that hungry and my friend got the Chicken quesadilla, both were good. The service was good and fast, we watched the Colombia vs Portugal game. The ambience is nice, they have indoor and outdoor dressing and lots of tvs to watch sports! Came here for happy hour after work on a Thursday. I found parking at a meters on the side street across from Te'kila. It was pretty quiet, not alot going on like back in the day. Was in the area to watch the Hollywood holiday parade, and had some time to eat before it started, so we popped in to Te'Kila to grab something to eat. Sat at the bar and got things started. Luckily it was happy hour, so tacos and margaritas were on deck. Grabbed a mango margarita and a strawberry mango margarita. They were pretty basic, tequila tasted like it was bottom shelf, and the flavor was ok. Nothing amazing. Tacos were also hot and miss. The carne asada had nice flavor to it while the carnitas tasted like they needed some seasoning. Overall, can only comment on the happy hour for, but get the carne asada tacos, skip the carnitas and maybe get a margarita with better tequila. read more

This used to me and my best friend's favorite spot, hands down. We're basically regulars at this point we always ask for Kat. She could sell an empty jar with nothing inside and we would still buy it. She's a great salesman, and honestly, that charm is half the reason we keep coming back. But there's also something really sad about seeing what this place has become. You could feel the energy before you even walked in. Now it's empty. Whoever's in charge seems to be putting this place down the toilet. The vibe feels different in the worst way, like it's slowly getting written off. We've noticed the changes too. The menus are now these giant "ginormous" pages seriously, they're about the size of our torso. Trying to read it is basically hitting each other. And it's not just the menu--everything feels like it's gone bigger prices on the wrong things, while the heart of the place has gone missing. I want the old tekila back. Not even joking. But here's the one thing that still never disappoints: the service is always great. Even with everything changing, the staff still takes care of us, and Kat makes the experience feel warm and worth it. So yeah: the place might look different, whats up with the 88 cents no one can read it's frustrating!!! Bad management part on playing people. I've been to Tekila Jack's multiple times, and unfortunately the experience has been inconsistent enough that I feel the need to leave a review. On a previous visit, I ordered a Hennchata and was told by the bartender that they no longer include the small Hennessy shot with the bottle. On a more recent visit, a different bartender told me that the shot is included. This lack of consistency was frustrating, especially since pricing and presentation should be standard. Another issue involved chips and salsa. During an earlier visit, I was told by a bartender that chips and salsa are only complimentary if you order food, despite watching them being given to another table. On my most recent visit, I sat at the bar, ordered food, drinks, and dined in -- yet I was still charged for chips and salsa. When I brought up what I had been told previously, the charge was not removed. I asked to speak with a manager and was told that there was no manager onsite. I'm not saying race was a factor, but as a person of color, it's hard not to notice how often these types of inconsistencies seem to happen at places like this. At the very least, staff should be on the same page about policies, and there should always be a manager available to resolve issues. Consistency and accountability matter, and unfortunately this experience lacked both. read more

Let me start by saying I love this restaurant I have been coming for years. Most of the workers know me or have seen my face. I usually order the buffalo wings and a frozen margarita....as you can see in the photos I demolished my wings but was very disappointed and disgusted to find a long piece of thick hair wrapped around one of the last three wings left and buried in the sauce. I called the location, asked for management and spoke with Francelli who said that the manager was not in. TèKila is a high volume experience on the Blvd but does not feel like it - the staff might deal with a ton of cray cray but they absolutely do not seem affected by it. The ambiance is safe and fun! Victor is such a fun and attentive bartender. He always knows our order and absolutely is so upbeat and easygoing. Carla the hostess is kind and the food runners are always kind as well. We live close so Tekila has become our local spot that we frequent at least once a week. I take the Salad and several glasses of red to round out that salad! On Tuesdays we 'taco' there and on special occasions we order the Giagantè which is a mega burrito perfect for any given celebration or coming off of one of these fastings that never stop trending on Tik-Tok. We came here to eat and was shocked to see several cockroaches inside the restaurant. It was extremely unsanitary and made it impossible to enjoy our meal. The food was good but nothing AMAZING. I mean typical Mexican food but they had a few different options on the menu which was cool. When I say different I got soyrizo fries. Im vegetarian so finding tofu at restaurants is becoming more and more popular and they were surprisingly really good! I mean the fries alone were cooked well. I'd give the dish a 10/10 actually. Good proportions and big to share with everyone. My dad tried a henne-Rita (I mean sounds gross to me lol) Hennessy shot that poops into the margarita as u drink it down. He didn't like it but the idea is fun! And it looks cool lol! The Margs alone were pretty good. Elote was decent. I wouldn't get it again but it's sometimes fun to try. taco salad was refreshing and good overall. Overall the fries stood out the most and it's nice to see more vegetarian options popping up everywhere! The environment was fun up beat and loud. It's right on the Hollywood stars strip next to a new hotel called the Thompson that is super beautiful. Service was ok. They were packed. And forgot out waters, they didn't let us know the plates were HOT and usually they say it's hot it's not... but this one burned us... and it actually hurt!
