I decided to try this place because it was on the list of restaurants doing DineLa this year. We ended up ordering the DineLa 3-course meal and also extra dishes to try. Even though this restaurant is a bar restaurant located in the Loews Hotel, the dishes are a lot more elevated and high-quality than I expected when compared to bar food. Food was actually very good. I didn't realize that food was Asian-Mexican fusion, but I have to say the mixture of flavors worked very well together. We ordered spicy tuna nigiri tacos, birria gyozas, skirt steak with Viet chimichurri sauce, ceviche, short-rib tacos, scallops with spicy hominy, and chai brownie for dessert. Every dish had great flavors and were seasoned very well. Steak was cooked perfectly and seafood quality tasted fresh. Hibiscus cocktail was also very tasty and refreshing. My only callouts were the chips for the ceviche were stale and the brownie was quite dry. Service was great. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive, checking on us constantly. Food pace was also well-timed and came out accordingly. The reason why I give this place a 4-star is because of the ambience. This bar restaurant is attached to the lobby and it can get very loud and rowdy with hotel guests sitting around. It would be better if the restaurant was separate from the lobby area to provide a more personal and less noisy dining experience. Also, the design could use some updating as it felt like eating in a restaurant located in a low-end casino. Ambience doesn't match the quality of the food. Nonetheless, I would still come dine here if I'm in the area. read more

For a hotel bar I have to say I was impressed with both the food and the service. We sat at the bar and were attended to by multiple servers. We ordered chicken wings and egg rolls from the happy hour menu and were surprised to see how big the portion sizes were. We also ordered the quesadilla with cheese from the regular menu it had generous amount of fillings. Overall I was happy to have dined here and would recommend it to anyone staying at the hotel or close by. read more

I came by this bar in the Loews Hotel alone before going to a show at the Hollywood bowl. I wasn't expecting much but to my surprise I had such a great time that I came back after the show! The ambiance was cute, there was a guy there singing and playing the guitar, and the people at the bar were so friendly. But the best part was my bartender! His name was Kevin. Tall with glasses and had the best personality! Even though it was busy he still managed to make me feel like I came there with a friend. We were talking about our experiences in LA and found out that we actually moved to LA at the same time. I didn't know what to drink so he made me some sort of chilled martini with lemon. We talked about our love for wings and he actually recommended the ones they have there. So once the show was over I came back to try the wings and have a few more drinks. Thank you Kevin! I came to the bar at the Loews Hollywood before a b'ness event. I grabbed a drink & snack during HH. During MNF, you can get wings or sliders and a draft for $12. I ordered a grilled cheese ($6) that surprisingly came with soup. I also had a CK Mondavi cab ($7). When the sandwich did arrive, it was very good. The cheese was salty, and it contrasted nicely vs the sweet soup. The wine was also a good deal. Regarding the ambiance, its a nice big bar. There is also a lounge area in the lobby to grab a drink. However, you can only see the large TV from one side of the bar (I was on the wrong side). Brandon was the bartender, and he was overworked. Yes it was a Mon, but I was part of a large b'ness group. They should have had another bartende bc the bar was pretty crowded. Nonetheless, a grilled cheese shouldn't take 25 min. I wouldn't go out of my way to come here, but H2 was okay as far as hotel bars go. I was expecting more from Loews though. The service was far too leisurely IMHO. read more

I went to the hotel lobby bar to have a few drinks. I ordered two draft beers and my check came to $39.95! Yikes. ($15 for each beer + $6 service charge (i.e. tip) + $3.95 tax) I didn't have dinner, but with prices like this I don't think I'll be back. read more

Loews Hollywood Bar Ernesto was our bartender. He did an AMAZING job. He was an outstanding bartender. Really great at making the cocktails. He was very receptive to making a variation of the Cilantro Libre which probably would've been a bit too spicy for me. All I know is whatever he made, it tasted delicious and I had two of them. He was a great conversationalist as well. Really enjoyed our time talking to him. And this bar offers a happy hour on Sundays, with a great variety of food and drinks available on the happy hour menu. It doesn't end there, either, because the food was great (we had the tater tots) and they provide you potato chips to munch on while you're drinking. I wish more bars did that. Kudos to H2! Went there while waiting for an event at the Dolby theater. Bartenders are nice and attentive. Drinks are so so. Hotel prices to be expected $15 a pop but nothing seemed special. Not a strong pour nor a particularly pretty display. NO mixology going on here. Attractive setting and huge tv but would not rush back unless waiting for next door. read more

Misguided menu - pea sprouts = spinach...$25 chicken and waffles = 3 kids frozen fried chicken tenders and 1/2 waffle with a cold sauce. The house made banana bread pudding? DRY and the sauce tastes 'off'...such a bummer for a premiere location...an embarrassment - it's like the chef is more concerned about his bottom line than the diners experience; the most uninspired blatant attempt I've ever seen and tasted - there should be at least some effort...no effort at all. Don't tell me it's because it's a hotel it's expected - I've been to hotels of the same caliber that's served better food than this...basic food 101. read more

Cool bar in the lobby of the Loews hotel. Some bar food available as well as whatever you want to drink. Hotel bar prices, but it's just soooo chill and soooo comfortable. You're bound to enjoy yourself there. Great place for locals to go to get away from it all. read more

H2 Kitchen & Bar is the lobby bar inside the Loews Hotel at Hollywood and Highland. I thought the bar at this behemoth hotel at tourist central would be busy, or loud, or a pain... but H2 is none of those things. It's a great place to have a drink before a movie or show, or unwind after a long day. Prices are in the "upscale hotel" range... but was pleasantly surprised at how large the glasses of wine were, and the flatbread was both delicious and large enough that you didn't feel ripped off. read more

We didn't really have high expectations for the hotel bar, but, man. Even those were too high. Service, on multiple occasions, took FOREVER. Incorrect drink was brought out twice, no apologies made, and the server gave an attitude when I tried to get it corrected. (The second time they brought me the wrong drink they didn't even offer to correct it. So I was stuck with a cocktail I basically didn't want/like.) The food we had was underwhelming too, and took so long we simply assumed they'd forgotten we ordered any. Happy hour is only on food, not on alcohol. They do have a few decent house cocktails if you're meeting someone here, but I'd advise you to generally look elsewhere. read more

SO our server was amazing, this was the only thing about the expereince that I have positive to say about the experience. They were out of a ton of beer and wine, and in fact we would ask for one, out, asked for another out, switched to wine, and we had the same thing. Then came the food, to be fair they were in the process of seitching to a new menu, however, they were out of almost everything they had on the current menu, after about 3 trys we finally found something that they had, then when it came out, it was the wrong thing, they didn't even offer to make it right, they just said they'd make sure the difference was taken care of on the bill.... My guess, they were out of it, and didn't want to tell us they were out of yet another thing. Our great server was on break during this time, and was replaced with a woman who really acted like she didn't need to be bothered. Let's just say for the rest of our stay we ordered uber eats, or went to the plaza close by for a couple drinks. Not a pleasant experience. read more

We stayed at the Loew's for 2 nights and visited the bar/restaurant 3-4 times during our stay. The first strange thing about it is that their "Happy Hour" is only for food prices and in no one includes drinks which feels pointless. All of their specialty cocktails that I tried were good but the service left a lot to be desired. More than once we were ready to order more drinks and even pressed the button on the table to call the waiter but were left waiting for a while. We also had to ask for water more than once before ever actually getting water (the initial glass, not even refills). The people we were eating with ordered a cheese plate one of the days and it took over 30 minutes for it arrive - I think they forgot to put the order in when they put in the drinks. The bar was also never packed or overwhelming for the staff the times service was bad. read more

Milo our server gets a good rating, but this was a bizarre experience. They were out of almost everything on the menu. Hummus. Out. Flatbread Out. Wine. Out. All wine and beer on tap. Out. Then we ordered a chicken quesadilla. They brought us a shrimp one and said, oh well we will just charge you for the chicken??? Painfully slow. We went because It was late and we were hungry ....but not likely to recommend or return. read more

Food is quite decent and the ambience is nice. Even with very few customers, food and drinks take way too long and staff is pretty incompetent. Probably won't do anymore lunch meetings here. Couldn't even get a straight answer on when Preston's is open for lunch. read more
