You can even bring in outside food! We've gotten fries from the kebab place next door, and they are divine (paired with a Dos Equis, chef's kiss). I rarely write reviews but this one felt like one worth writing. My friends and I were looking forward to going here and really wanted to enjoy this bar, but it wasn't possible. On of my friends has a certified service animal with a card and the door guy was a complete a**hole, grilling her and basically telling us we couldn't come in. He was such a jerk to the point I just asked him "do you even want our business?!" and we walked away. I really hope their management and the bartender know that he's being such a jerk to people who are coming in to the point where they're actually losing customers before they can make any money. Don't waste your time and even bother coming here. There are far better bars in LA. read more

I've been supporting vintage bar group for over a decade from their old bar The Parlour to the woods on labrea and NoBAR in noho. Most of their bartenders are great but last night I went in and Mike was bartending and in an obvious mood. I was finishing up my EOD report for work when another bartender that wasn't working asked me to do a shot with her. I accepted and she introduced me to a friend of hers that offered to buy my next drink. I finished my report and asked to close out just to find that Mike double charged me. When I tried explaining to him that the gentleman offered to buy my last drink he got Very snappy and rude. Continuously interrupting me and it was so weird. He's been rude before. He made a disturbing comment after I spent some time in the ICU about my health and I didn't return for months. I ran into him and he asked me why I haven't come around and I told him that his comment was disturbing and very hurtful and he apologized and admitted he made a poor judgement with that joke but then continued to DM me and ask me to come in on his slow nights probably because I've been in the industry for ages and o always tip generously. When I did return he told me I was being too sensitive and that it was just a joke. Mike doesn't drink but I wonder if he has some sort of anger, narcissism or bipolar disease because he can be very sweet sometimes and a complete jerk other times. Last night I felt like he wouldn't let me get a word out and it was very triggering and disappointing to see him treat me this way. I've invited friends and even thrown huge gatherings at these bars via Angelo The owner and Mike is the only bartender that has recently been mistreating people that I've experienced. I invited friends to meet me there a few months back and he double charged my friend who very much only had one drink. My friend said he was argumentative about it So he just paid and asked me to never invite him there again and left. Mike tried to talk shit about him when he left and I cut him off and said "he literally only had One drink because he has to drive home. I saw it. He didn't apologize or try to make it right. I've bartended for ages. If you can't count or differentiate who is ordering what you shouldn't be in this business. Apparently he told the other bartenders I'm 86'd from the same bar he constantly asks me to come into. Very happy to spend my money elsewhere. I even brought him dinner from my job last night. A very cool bar located very close to Hollywood boulevard. It really does feel like you are in the woods, there are stars on the ceilings and the walls are all wood. They were also playing Jurassic park in the back on a big screen. My friends and I only got one drink here, but it was also really good. They are located within a plaza of sorts so parking can be hard if you come on a busy day, but there are some street parking. There was also security at the door and they will card you, but once you're inside, it is easy going from there. They have both bar space and booths for privacy. You order at the bar and then take it back to your table. They only had one bartender when I was there so be kind (and tip your bartender)! The drinks are a little expensive, but that's the LA tax, lol. Solid drinks tho. For entertainment, they have a jukebox near the door and some games scattered around if you want to play! This gen-x LA native remembers fondly the LA bar scene of yore (think Smalls K.O. and Three Clubs, and even the predecessor Lava Lounge) that nurtured our need to pre-game/bar-hop before clubbing, or sometimes skipping the club entirely because you found the perfect spot to people watch. This bar is somewhat of a happy place for me, nestled away in a strip mall in Hollywood. It's pretty close to the Roosevelt so you can park in a parking structure by that and walk if you don't really know where else to go or happen to be there for something else. I love coming here after another Hollywood activity and having a drink at the bar. I love the neighborhood bar vibe it gives off. You're less likely to find a bunch of obnoxious tourists here. If you come with friends, you can sit at a table if there's space, but be aware that it gets kind of loud (lots of people, usually loud music or a DJ). Not much of a dance floor, but people find space to dance. The drinks I've had have been hit and miss in terms of strength; sometimes I'll ask the bartender to surprise me with something strong, and I get it, or I'll get one of my usual drinks and it isn't very strong at all. But, I have had a good time all of the times I've been, and I try to come back whenever I'm in the Hollywood area. Check it out if you're looking for a fun little (yes, overused phrase incoming) hidden gem. read more

This is a lovely space. The decor is very rustic homey. It's nicely dark. The bar stools are padded and large. The bar is also padded. It's very comfortable. The prices are great. My Laphroaig was $15. We came around shift change and had the company of two wonderful barkeeps. To be honest, the bar keeps are why this review is 4 stars and not two. It is a shame that such a lovely space has such a clientele. We were treated to a live sex show while we drank. And after we spent an hour trying our hardest to ignore that (and they were making that very hard) the actors of said sex show came to the bar and started trying to fight everyone. And they were not kicked out. We left. I feel like at any other place, this would have made this place a 2 star place. But everything else was nice enough to warrant the 4. That said, I do doubt I'll be going back. I'd rather pay more for my scotch and not have to see some randos fuck. read more

Surprise low key dive bar in this mini mall of some random places, but the key to this lot is the Taco Truck, great for late night drunk people. The bar itself is dark and super small/intimate, the tables are tucked away along the wall with a stretch couch/seating for people to chill. From the reviews I thought it would be a sketchy whole in the wall, but once I walked in I realized that the reviews did it no justice. I loved the decor. The wood on the walls was Fresh. It had a really cool atmosphere and was full of hip locals. I got there and they told me it was still #happy hour. My favorite time of the day lol. Got Jameson and cokes for $6.
