We had a phenomenal experience at Jane Q! Made a reservation for a Monday evening (yes, they're actually open Monday evenings despite the hours on Google/Yelp)! Call them! Great for large groups. We had the place all to ourselves at this time and the staff went above and beyond to serve us! They were very friendly and helpful. We ordered a rosé and a white wine, both very good. My favorite was the wine of the month from OPP by sommelier André Mack. Then we split several entrees: Pepp Pizza, Heirloom Garden Pizza, Cacio e Pepe Gnocchi, Bucatini All' Carbonara, Mixed Greens Salad, Caesar Salad, and my favorite - the Stracciatella!! Despite being a steep price for bread ($19), the Stracciatella is a dish I will crave for years to come!!! It is a fluffy soft and buttery bread with a perfectly salty mozzarella dip. I could've just ordered this and been more than content!! The pastas were also really good - perfectly al dente. The Carbonara was my favorite with cheesy thick cut noodles and chunks of pecorino. I only got to try one of the pizzas and it was fresh with a good flavor and a crispy crust, but if I had to pick I would go with pasta over pizza here. The mixed green salad was delicious with a sour kick from the vinaigrette. The Caesar was pretty standard but with freshly toasted bread instead of normal croutons. Every part of the meal felt like it was made with care and we had a great time!! Upstairs there is another bar with a lot of lounge seating and pool tables as well as restrooms. We had a limited amount of time (little over an hour) to get something to eat before a pantages show. This place was conveniently located within a 5 min walk to the theater and their menu looked enticing. It's quite large, probably due to its attachment to the hotel. But seemed like there was a second floor seating. Walking in from the street (argyle), it felt awkward since there wasn't a clearly designated area to check in. We waited by the end of a counter where a menu was located. After a few minutes, a waiter noticed us and asked if we were ordering to go. So even now, I'm not sure if we walked in through the right door but he was able to sit us at a table. It was pretty empty in this hotel restaurant. The menu we had been looking at earlier was for breakfast/lunch. Honestly, it looked more appealing to me then the dinner options. The staff was friendly and even the chef checked in on us. I appreciated when they acknowledged that our meals were taking a while to come out. I thought the prices were a bit up there. For example, the one rosè wine glass was $19. The pizza was hand-made and my partner enjoyed the charred flavor. My shrimp pasta was good but $29 seemed a bit steep. I personally would have preferred less pepper and more sauce. I'll probably come back to try the brunch menu- the Benedictine shrimp & grits caught my eye. read more

Wow! Love the Kimpton Everly as our "go-to" for concert trips to L.A. and YES the breakfast at the hotel makes it SO worth staying put for your morning meal. Charming decor, open and bright space. This is a great hang out location. It's so spacious upstairs and they have so many areas to sit. I enjoyed the atmosphere it's such a cool vibe. They have live music, some games, and a pool table for entertainment. We came for lunch. I got the chicken sandwich and an iced matcha. The chicken sandwich was yummy, but small, especially for the cost. The iced matcha was good. My friend got the pizza which she said was good. Cute space and well lit. We enjoyed a leisurely lunch. Not a bad spot to go before the Pantages theater if you are in the area, though it is a little bit of a walk. We had the opportunity to eat here twice since we were staying at the Kimpton. The first day we tried their lunch menu, we had the pepperoni and the margherita pizza and they were ok. My kids enjoyed them, but I wasn't very impressed, so I ended up ordering a greens salad and that was better than expected. Simple but tasty. We were at the restaurant with a big group so we ordered several salads and pizza. The salads were average and were on the smaller side to be shared. The pizzas were great though and I thought the crust came out just right - New York style with a crispy outside and chewy inside. The crust is slightly sweet, in a good way. Pro tip: The Kimpton Everly offers all day visitor parking passes for $20! This pricing is comparable (if not cheaper) to the nearby garages.. and it includes valet. Jane Q's menu is a mix of Mediterranean and Italian. We ended up ordering two pizzas to share: the margherita and truffle. Each slice of the truffle pizza was loaded with fresh mozzarella and truffle patte. This menu item was easily my favorite! I also appreciate that it was affordable and two handmade pizzas were more than enough food for our group of four. They also host a full-size bar and a grab and go filled with fresh juices. We came for DineLA earlier in the year and really enjoyed this delightful little place. Their $29 dinner menu was a great deal. It's in the Kimpton Everly hotel in Hollywood, so you should take advantage of the valet parking - it's not an easy area to find parking in. But don't forget to get your ticket validated! Otherwise parking can get quite expensive! The restaurant is downstairs from the hotel and is a striking room in the evening - lots of windows and modern light fixtures make it feel bigger - but it's not a large space. I'd definitely make a reservation. Drinks are particularly good, with several infused gin & tonic options - which I love. I chose a cucumber-infused g&t and it was perfect. My friend picked an old fashioned... which he enjoyed. From the Dine LA menu, we started with the Garden of Greens salad - a nice way to start with plenty of avocado and some spicy pistachios. I had the eggplant parmigiana as my entree. It doesn't come with any sides and is a smallish looking portion... but it was so rich and cheesy that I couldn't even finish it. Very good rendition of this dish. My friend had the herb-roasted chicken, which was beautiful and served with lovely roasted veggies and a yummy green harissa. For dessert, we both went with the "Chef's Special Dessert", which was a gorgeous raspberry mousse topped with this pretty cookie with gold leaf. Special indeed. Restaurant was bright and well designed. The server informed us that the servings were large and shareable. Keeping that in mind we all ended up ordering individual dishes. We started with the watermelon feta salad. Then we ordered a pepperoni pizza, corn ravioli with lobster, spicy penne a la vodka, and roasted garlic miso carbonara. The portions were decent, but I definitely wouldn't have called them shareable. Our biggest complaint would be the watermelon feta salad. It was a large pile of arugula with 8ish cubes of watermelon and a sprinkling of feta. The honey vinaigrette was basically non existent. The menu does not mention arugula, if it had we would not have ordered it because I can't stand arugula and my teenagers don't like it either. I checked Opentable for DineLA options, threw her a few and we picked Jane Q, lodged at the bottom level of the Kimpton Everly Hotel -- which is good to know! It's around the block from two places I love: The Pantages and the Fonda theaters! There is very little street parking and Valet is $9. It's also adjacent to the Hollywood/Vine Station so there's no excuse not to come and enjoy. Reservations are on Opentable so it's very easy. The folks at the Kimpton and friendly and direct you to where you need to go, and service is exceptional -- our waitress was really excited to share their $29/person DineLA options with us! First course -- salads. Delicious! I had the Waldorf and can eat this all the time. I went vegetarian for the second course, having the Eggplant Parm and mmm, queso! It was delicioso. For the third and last course -- we both passed on the brownie and went for the "Chef's special" which was a gorgeous, raspberry mousse with 24K gold flakes on top. Decadent and delish, I want this again. I topped it off with an apple cider off their seasonal drink menu and skipped the whipped cream. Loved it.
