What a hidden gem! We were on our way to a concert at the Hollywood Palladium and were walking around looking for somewhere to eat when we stumbled across this place. From the outside, it looks like a little hole-in-the-wall and is honestly a bit deceiving -- but once you walk inside, it's a completely different experience. The food is incredible and feels like real, authentic Italian food, with a genuine Italian atmosphere to go along with it. Perfect menu with Salmon and Chicken Parm my two favorite dishes we ordered see pics. Nice atmosphere for date, or friends dining. Alone okay too. Outdoor patio if you like to share your food with the homeless. Very responsive, attentive and friendly staff. Food comes out relatively quickly. Just a little secret that the servers will not tell you but you are getting it from David: If you order the Salmon it comes intentionally sushi raw in the middle so if you don't like sushi ask them to cook it. They use great salmon so its fine tasting raw. Best of all here: No splash back funnel urinals in the men's room! You don't see this often so men don't have to worry about wet spots and residue on their pants like most places. Makes me want to just come here to pee. LOL. We chose Fabiolus Cucina because of its convenient location just a short walk from the Pantages Theatre, making it an ideal spot before a show. Unfortunately, the overall experience didn't quite live up to our expectations. We arrived right when the restaurant was scheduled to open, but the doors remained closed for about 15 minutes after opening time. Once seated, it took another 15 minutes before anyone came to greet us. To their credit, our server was genuinely kind, and the owner also seemed very friendly and welcoming. The menu offers a wide variety of choices, from traditional Italian dishes to burgers and other options, so there is something for almost everyone. They were also accommodating of my gluten allergy, which I sincerely appreciated. That said, the service was inconsistent throughout the meal. Long stretches would pass without anyone checking on us, and even though we intentionally arrived with plenty of time before our show, we ended up rushing to the Pantages and barely made it to our seats before the performance began. The food was decent, but it didn't stand out. Having experienced authentic Italian cuisine in Italy, I was hoping for more, especially given the Hollywood location. The dishes felt fairly basic and lacked the depth of flavor and authenticity I was expecting. I had also requested patio seating, thinking it would enhance the experience. Unfortunately, the patio is tucked away in an area that feels more like a side alley, and because it's out of sight, service became even more infrequent. Overall, everyone we interacted with was pleasant, and I appreciated their willingness to accommodate dietary restrictions. However, between the slow service, average food, and underwhelming atmosphere, I don't think I'd choose to dine here again before a show. We went here with a family of 5 before a show at Pantages and I was blown away. The restaurant is unassuming, not really standing out on Sunset blvd amongst all the major studios, however the food was some of the best Italian food I've had in my life(and I've been to Italy a few times). Kids that were usually picky essentially licked their plates clean. Our server was so personable, taking extra time to interact with the kids and made the whole night special. Sometimes you struggle to have a nice meal out with the family because the restaurants are a little stuffy and unwelcoming to kids but this was the perfect combination of excellent food and top notch service. Did you ever feel you could have created better tasting dishes at home than the overpriced restaurant you were eating in, at that moment? Fab Cucina might have been Fab some time ago, but presently they seems to be taking advantage of the local concert crowd, with (dry) chicken Parmesan, made with frozen chicken, unseasoned, butter-less veggies and Pasta from a retail bag. If Chef Ramsey showed up with us, he would have walked out, based on price verses lack of fresh flavor. My wife was charged $7 more to add chopped sausage to her small $27 undercooked pasta dish. She was given about 1/4 of an Italian sausage to her dismay. If we paid $50 for dinner not including drinks, we would have been tolerant, but when paying three times that price, the customer deserves extraordinary flavor and fresh quality cuisine always, when near Spago pricing! Also, 85% of reputable restaurants who receive an unfavorable review on Yelp or Google will have a manager reach out to the diner in some way to discuss. Here, no one cares about their customers, look thru the other unfavorable reviews with zero response! The Calamari appetizer and Tiramisu were good which added an extra star. Came here with my husband for Valentine's Day dinner. Can I start off by saying that we enjoyed this place very much. The atmosphere is nice and quaint. The service is great. Our waiter Massimo was exceptional. They were a bit backed up in the kitchen seeing that they were very busy so it took a while for our food to come out. But he made sure we were happy and satisfied and brought us a Caesar salad to eat while we waited, refilled our wine and compensated our appetizer.. Our server was incredibly nonchalant the entire meal, he gave no recommendations and we had to ask someone to find him since he never checked on us. Went with a group of about 13 around 5:30 on a Friday evening and there was nobody else at the restaurant that early so service was quick and food came out hot and fresh. My spouse and I split an order of the pesto angel hair pasta and the sauce was delicious but the chicken was sparse and cut up so small that I barely tasted it. Still good, though! And we also got an order of the garlic bread which was great, as well. Our entire table all got different dishes that everyone seemed to enjoy as well as cocktails that were a hit. We had a 'team', but it felt like no one was making sure we were taken care of. There was no leader of this team. We had a party of 4, but over and over again, they only brought 3 of anything, whether it was napkins and place settings, wine glasses, or even our entrees. We waited at least 10 minutes for them to bring out the 4th entrée, it was pretty ridiculous. Our various servers were not the least bit knowledgeable about the wine list or pairings. I went ahead and selected a bottle, one of them brought it to the table and left it there, unopened. Not even kidding. We sat there watching the bottle sweat... someone finally brought glasses. 3 of them. They got another glass and finally opened the bottle. Once our food was on the table, we were ignored. No one asked if everything was OK, no one checked to see if we needed anything. Water was never refilled even though we asked. I noted on Open Table that we were celebrating a birthday, but there was no acknowledgment of that at all. Given the service we received, I'm not surprised. They paid no attention to detail at all. They know many people come before shows and have the system down. I knew what I wanted to order and got my food within 15 mins. There's small parking lot behind the restaurant. I was able to leave my car there and walk to the show (10 min away). Instead of paying $20-25 for parking, I put that towards a nice dinner with friendly hostess/staff at a cute Italian restaurant.
