This is real LA spot. A 1903 Victorian era home has been made into a bar and event venue. The decor is amazing. Dark and moody, with perfect accent lighting. On a cool February evening I was able to come to a special evening to see Cannons play a small show. As we made our way inside, our first stop was the main bar. There is a great selection of drinks from which to choose. Our first round was an old-fashioned. I'm always interested to see how different bartenders crafted. It was perfectly balanced, not too sweet, and the right amount of betters for a savory kick. After hanging out for a little while, waiting for the band to start, I went back and got another round of drinks. This time I asked the bartender what she could with gin, and be light and citrusy. She made a lime mint spritz that was sweet and refreshing. Once the music started, we were able to enjoy being outside on the patio and see our favorite band playing 10 feet from us. The small sound system did the job to fill the space. After the show finished, the bar opened up to the public and it got really packed. It was quite a privilege to be able to be invited to see a show here with a small crowd.

I wish I got more pictures, but I love the dark ambiance and the music! Bartender was super friendly and gave us some great shot recommendations as well as a free martini. I will definitely be visiting again and updating my review with more pictures.

Cool Houston bros bar. Usually a line on the weekends unless you are lucky. Came on a Friday night and it was super busy, but easy enough to get in at 10pm. By 12 it was shoulder to shoulder inside, so snag a table outside if you get there early to enjoy some drinks while it fills up. On the night I went, there was a nice quick burlesque show every hour I would say. Drinks are typical pricing, ambiance here is amazing, super cool vibe, decorated to a T. Loud music, lots of dancing. most people here in there 20's it seems. :)

Arrived around 9 PM and there was no line at all so we got in right away. I've been wanting to try this bar but it always has a long line, so finally I got to come here without standing in line. We also got lucky to get a street parking nearby and it's very cheap comparing to public parking. Hands down to the best bartender ever! He knows how to make a delicious Midori Sour and not a lot of people know about that drink. I'm so glad I came here lol. We also ordered old fashioned and a glass of whiskey. We also got a comfy seat because there was still empty but the next hour, the place got filled up pretty quick. There's also small dance area inside and that night's dj was playing coolest songs ever!

No Vacancy is such a fun experience with a cool atmosphere! The entrance is a little difficult to find. It's inside of a gated parking lot. Look up and you'll see the neon No Vacancy light. SPOILER - To get inside, past the bouncer, up the stairs, choose the door to the far right. You'll enter a room with a woman in lingerie sitting on a bed. She will give you a small introduction and then let you inside. She'll hit a button and the entire bed will move mechanically to the side revealing a set of stairs that go down to the speakeasy. You'll be let out into an indoor area with a bar, dj/dance floor, and tucked away seating area with tables and stools. If you get there early enough, definitely try to snag an outdoor table. Way more vibey and cuter than inside. There's also a smaller bar outside too. There's soft couches that line the exterior with tables for your drinks. The house itself has a Victorian haunted but warm feel to it. All of the tables outside had a reserved sign on them but we asked the security if they were taken and they said we could sit there. Take that as you will! Drinks were typical LA prices - around 18 bucks. They were made well and strong though! Love that this place is an experience. Came early to start the night out but would be super interested to see how it comes alive a little later in the night with more people to use the dance floor!

First time here and it was for an Alt 98.7 event with Wet Leg that I won entry to online ! Easily accessible from Metro as I walked about 8 minutes from the Hollywood/Highland station. Great acoustics and vintage surroundings ! The only drawback : multiple bars and no food ! I wanted to sample things I saw online but there is no food served here anymore apparently- bummer !

The security staff working the door last night were not only rude and unprofessional, but acted extremely self-important in a situation that didn't warrant it. They made our whole group feel uncomfortable and made it a negative experience. Unfortunately we only got a photo of one of the guys. Be aware if this guy is working the door.

An aesthetic, speakeasy-type bar tucked away near Hollywood Boulevard! It has a mysterious but casual ambiance that is super unique - I haven't seen else like it. When you first enter the venue, you go up the stairs into a room with a burlesque-dressed lady who sits on a bed. From there, you enter a secret passageway that leads to the bar and a garden out back! The drinks themselves weren't anything special and were slightly on the pricier side. Nonetheless, my friends and I had a great time and we'll be coming back again for the vibes!

A swanky bar and lounge affixed within a restored 20th century Victorian in the heart of Hollywood? I can't say no to that. Definitely one of the most unique bars you'll ever go to. The experience of entering No Vacancy is very interesting and fun. I won't give too much away. But it does give a great speakeasy vibe. They don't have a menu and focus more on the classic and traditional cocktails. My girlfriend got a Bee's Knees and I got an Aviation. The drinks were solid and pretty good value considering it's in DTLA. Only issue for me was that we came on. Thursday night and they had a DJ playing pretty modern hits. I'm usually not opposed to that type of music but considering how much they put into the "experience" of this place, the music threw me off a little. I had a great time nonetheless at No Vacancy. I'll definitely be back and I'll be taking friends and family as well.

Wow! What an amazing venue and so unsuspecting. I'm an LA native and No Vacancy has been over my head until now. Originally home to Charlie Chaplin just north of Hollywood Boulevard, NV is a converted Victorian home tucked away adjacent to the valet parking in front of it. Going by here before, I thought the red, neon sign "No Vacancy" meant just that! But as an invited guest from a local, nonprofit radio station I help support for an acoustic set, I was all over it. Valet is $20 (convenience, baby). We walked right in, I gave my name and was set to explore a bit before the set. Topo Chico was complimentary at the bar but the bar was flowing and the lines were crazy long! The space was low lit, moody and dramatic yet felt like a "real home." The garden out back a real yard - it just included built in red booths around the perimeter of the yard facing a patio stage with cafe lights to make the mood glow. The yard was packed for the show. Standing room only to see the stage (don't get me wrong - guests still sat at the booths, but couldn't see). The sound was fantastic and makes you forget you're in the heart of Hollywood. I'd love to come back or even have an event here myself one day! Suffice to say, No Vacancy is on my radar!

Visiting LA and saw that I had this place stored in my favorites list without remembering why I had in my list. Decided to go there and check it out anyway. Experience, as described to an Angeleno friend, is as follows: I just remembered why I had No Vacancy on my favorites list. This is why!! Legit speakeasy. Solid 10/10. Dad was blows away by the entrance. We had to feel our way through the three doors at the entrance and figure out which one actually opened to let us in. Then, a lady sitting coyly on a bed welcomes us and gives the usual speakeasy background story and presses a button and voila! A hidden staircase opens up. Dad was blown away and was clapping all the way as we entered the speakeasy

It's really pretty on the rooftop plus has a fun vibe with a few wax figures around! Will Smith, James Dean, The Rock, Zendaya, Marilyn Monroe...a bunch of A Listers to dine around! lol! The staff was all so nice and kind here! I was actually really surprised to find such amazing staff at such a tourist type of spot. They were all just so great!!! The other clientele seemed to be coworkers there for happy hour, tourists popping by, then my friend and I! It was a good mix of people hanging out up there. I really liked the vibes. We went during happy hour which had a bunch of drink specials. I had a Mocktail which wasn't on the HH menu but it was so gorgeous and tasty! The Zombie ($12) had Grapefruit, lime juice, black iced tea, tiger's blood and was wonderful. I really appreciate when places put effort into their NA drinks. Also on the HH menu were a few food options and my friend had a $4 Steak Taco which he was happy with. I had the Box Office burger which was incredibly indulgent with A Cajun-spiced patty, balsamic onions, bacon jam, arugula and garlic aioli on a pretzel bun. Plus, they bring a little pan of melted blue cheese which they will pour tableside onto the burger for you. Cute! And I loved the burger. Shirley Brasserie, the restaurant referred to above, is also located in The Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel (located next to The Lobby). The "iconic" they refer to is the fact that this hotel is historic -- it was built in 1926 during the Golden Era of Los Angeles architecture. It is named after Theodore Roosevelt. The first Academy Awards (Oscars) was held here in 1929. The hotel had its ups and downs since then but currently it looks beautiful and thriving. Take your out-of-state visiting friends/relatives to this place. Because this is a big part of "Hollywood". I recommend The Lobby to hang out after a long day's work or after a nice dinner nearby. This is where my sister and I went after our dinner at Musso and Frank. My sister ordered their Espresso Martini which was really good. I had a beer. Our server wasn't as warm as the ones during my visit in 2023. I think she was an introvert or a bit of a nervous person. But she did not seem potentially horrible. Restroom: I did not go to the restroom this time. I think there was a line. But I remember back in 2023 that you had to ask for a key or a code. Which is understandable for this area. Parking: I recommend the valet parking. If validated, the fee is really reasonable (I forgot how much they charged). We got ours validated because we ordered those drinks from The Lobby.

He went above and beyond, helping clear tables, bringing us water, and making sure guests were taken care of while the restaurant was clearly stretched thin. After being seated, we waited quite a while for our server. I eventually noticed what I believe was a manager stop by our table to check on us and ask if we had any questions. Since we had been ready to order for some time, I asked if we could simply place our order with her. She was delightful, helpful, and very accommodating. We ordered the Brussels sprouts, breakfast potatoes, dinosaur kale salad, chicken sandwich, and burger. Everything was flavorful and delicious, but the burger was definitely my favorite. Combined with the beautiful weather and atmosphere, it made for a very enjoyable brunch. The biggest downside was the service speed. Our waiter was incredibly kind, but because the restaurant appeared to be understaffed, he was rarely able to stop by. There were long waits between ordering, receiving food, and getting assistance throughout the meal. It never felt like poor service from the staff themselves--it felt more like a staffing issue. towards the end, I had to remind the waiter that we were celebrating a birthday (it was in my notes, and two people in person were also told, but the waiter maybe forgot). When the tab came, I had to remind the waiter that I had already provided payment at the time of arrival. The delays continued when we were leaving. We needed parking validation and waited about 5-10 minutes because the host had stepped away and there was no one else available to assist. By the time we left, parking had cost us $33 for roughly 2.5 hours. Overall, the food, atmosphere, host, and manager were excellent, and the staff who were there worked hard under difficult circumstances. Had staffing been planned a little better, I suspect this would have been an easy 5-star experience and our visit would have taken closer to an hour or hour and a half instead of stretching much longer. Hopefully management addresses the staffing challenges, because the restaurant itself is definitely worth visiting.
