I came across a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle night at the Zero Lounge on IG, and it caught my attention so much that I decided to go. There was a $15 per person cover charge, which included two free drinks and free pizza. The vibe was awesome, very nostalgic, and it brought back memories from when I was a kid. The drinks were reasonably priced, and of course, the movie was great. I liked that they made the movie very interactive like, we drank when a certain word was said, and people could leave funny comments or GIFs that would pop up on the screen. If they show another great movie, I might be coming back again.

Pretty dead when I was there but it was early in the night like 9:45pm. The drinks tasted good and I like the way the place looks. Definitely more of a place to sit than to dance it felt like. Fairly small.

Drinks were sooooooooo good! Tasty, fruity, and strong. Interior and bathroom are clean. I like how the staff was cleaning often. However, it took forever to get one of my drinks. It had a custom foam print on it and I saw that it was done but it took 5 minutes just to get it because the bartender was too busy taking another order. I would have ordered more if service was quicker. Parking was $25. I would come here again though the drinks were just that good. Love the interior

I attended a Gui Fieri look-alike contest at Zero Lounge and was in flavortown all night! The venue is a curated Y2K themed gem in Hollywood just down the street from other venerated cultural institutions like the Funko Museum. There is space for dancing, there is space for lounging; the unique charm and theme can't be found anywhere else. You can carry a conversation without Naruto running to the smoking lounge, and you don't have to use your cosplay's megaphone to order from the very kind bar staff. A secure and walkable parking lot just a block away, friendly security, a genuinely nice manager who genuinely supports the DJs and performers, an N64 controlled easter egg video game, affordable pizza down the block, it's pretty much the hangout spot in Hackers - and I'm going to start a rumor right here that Angelina Jolie was spotted hanging out last weekend. The Fieri themed event was a blast (literal fire), and the creative energy in the room was contagious. Zero Lounge is always partnering with super talented creatives, and I could tell that a lot of care and thought went into crafting an experience that celebrates fun, originality, and community. I'm already looking forward to my next chance to log-in! Overall, I'd rate my experience a solid 1999/2000 stars (see what I did there ;). If you're seeking a unique, spirited night out in Hollywood, Zero Lounge is definitely worth checking out!

Had my Britney birthday party and it was incredible. The staff was super accommodating and just lite us like, totally let loose when it came to throwing a themed birthday party here. The crew here has a genuine passion for nostalgia. The music, the drinks, and the vibes were so on point. I'll be back next week for Sunday karaoke!

This place is awesome! Came here for a Y2K burlesque show by Minx Pop, and it did not disappoint! The owner Kevin is extremely nice, and the male bartenders were fun! They had great music, and good vibes. They also had really good mock tails, and drinks you can have stuff printed on! 10/10

Zero Lounge is an incredible hidden gem in Los Angeles that you don't want to pass up. The ambience is fun, relaxing, and the energy picks up and gets intense on the dancefloor without ever feeling overwhelming. I came to Zero Lounge and was immediately greeted by an incredibly charismatic doorman before I stepped in to an arcade retrostyle tunnel with neon lighting. The venue has amazing drinks themed with millenial taste, and very high quality ingredients. My friend Mark who doesn't drink ordered a grapefruit mocktails and we watched the woman squeeze the grapefruit and garnish it with dried fruits. It was so awesome. There are also tomagotchi and smuckers drinks that come with small PB&Js affixed, and the tip jar was for rugrats v hey arnold. Hey Arnold for life as a new yorker. The venue has seating where I connected and danced with new friends and was able to speak personally for HOURS. I was able to go outside in a smoking area with privacy, return and enter no cover, and I ended up staying all night dancing to many incredible artists who SHREDDED nineties hits. every time i got fatigued, Kesha or Natasha Bedingfield or HOOBASTANK came on, i HAD to get up for HOOBASTANK WHAT?!?!? my father kicked me out of the car when i was twelve for telling him HoobaSTINKS! THIS IS IMPORTANT HISTORICAL REVERENCE IN THIS BAR!! i never dance til one am. I was completely sober. There is true dedicated community here, blended with tourists and newcomers, and I can tell the staff are committed to its value. They were conscious and respectful the whole time and I made friends with them. Here are pictures. There are pokemon. You should go.

Had soooo much fun here - came to watch Minx Pop Burlesque and it was such a vibe. All the bartenders were so attentive and adorable, the dancers did sooo good. Hope they do monthly performances here!

It wasn't your typical corner haunt. There was an intentionality here that turned a simple evening out into a genuine education. The curation of spirits was nothing short of impressive, but what set the experience apart was the conversation. I arrived knowing the difference between a glass and a bottle, but left with a newfound appreciation for the nuances of rum, the craftsmanship behind a smooth whiskey, and the unexpected complexities hidden within a well-made vodka. Each pour came with a story, a history, and a level of expertise that transformed every sip into a lesson. The atmosphere was the perfect anchor for it all--utterly chill and devoid of the frantic, forced energy you find elsewhere. It was the kind of place where the music sits at just the right volume and the lighting invites you to actually linger. It was refreshing to find a spot that treats its craft with such respect while keeping the vibe completely grounded. I walked out feeling a little more cultured and a lot more relaxed. Consider this my official notice: I'll definitely be back.

My friends and I recently visited Obscure, and overall we had a great experience…read more First, the venue itself is absolutely beautiful. From the moment you walk in, it feels like you've been transported somewhere else. Every room is thoughtfully designed, and the atmosphere is immersive and unlike anything we've experienced before. The storyteller was welcoming, engaging, and incredibly knowledgeable. I really enjoyed learning about the history of alcohol and the stories behind each tasting. The cocktails were definitely on the stronger side, but you could tell they were crafted with high-quality ingredients. Unfortunately, our experience was somewhat tainted by our hostess. She came across as impatient and unwelcoming, which set the tone early on. When we first entered, we were each handed a small glass of liquid, and then she immediately walked away without explaining what it was or what we were supposed to do with it. We assumed it was a welcome drink, so we all took a sip only to discover it was actually a palate cleanser. A little guidance would have gone a long way. The next room had a beautiful bayou-inspired setting. While the historical information was interesting, I found myself wishing the experience leaned more into the mystical or magical themes that the venue seems to promise. One thing worth mentioning is the restroom setup. I don't mind coed restrooms, but there was no signage explaining that the restroom is shared with two open stalls. Some guests may appreciate a heads-up, especially those who might feel uncomfortable or triggered by that arrangement. After the tastings, you're taken outside. A few of us stopped to use the restroom first, and when we returned, our friend had already left the table and all of our drinks had been cleared away. We were disappointed because we hadn't finished them. Our friend had been told she couldn't take the drinks with her, but when we returned we could take them outside. She was told that they'd be there when we got back. We were disappointed. The outdoor portion of the experience also felt a bit rushed. We barely had time to enjoy our drinks, let alone take photos of the beautiful space. The beignets at the end, however, were absolutely delicious and a highlight of the evening! Finally, we were escorted to the members-only bar, which was stunning. It gave off major Harry Potter vibes with its hidden, magical atmosphere. One of my friends was still finishing her drink on the patio since we couldn't legally walk on the sidewalk with it. Our hostess told us she'd come back for us but she never did. After waiting quite a while, another staff member happened to walk by and kindly helped us. Once inside, everything turned around again. The bartender was warm, friendly, and helped us choose drinks off the menu. I ordered the piña colada, and while it was much stronger and different from the traditional version I'm used to, it was absolutely delicious!!! Despite some service issues and inconsistent communication, I would still recommend Obscure. The concept is unique, the cocktails are excellent, and the venue is truly one of a kind. I'm hoping our hostess was simply having an off day, because with more attentive service, this experience could easily be five stars.

I finally was able to check it off, thanks to a hotel offer with a dining credit. Dahlia is the gorgeous petite space behind the larger ground floor restaurant space now called Cabrillo (formerly Caldo Verde). Dahlia opened as a bespoke cocktail lounge, then began to offer tea. Now it's just tea. There are five 2-tops and two 4-top tables. All food and beverage venues at the Proper used to be under the auspices of famed chef Suzanne Goin and her business partner/sommelier Caroline Styne. They are no longer affiliated with the Proper, but many of their dishes/contributions remain. The last named vestige of them is on the tea menu, "Suzanne's Deviled-Egg Sandwich". The tea menu has several options: Classic, with a seasonal mocktail, or with different champagnes. I opted for the Classic experience, because the mocktail had mocha, not my fave. Server Lluvia was clearly a Dahlia veteran; she offered a tea-smelling of all the teas that interested me as well as crowd favourites. I ultimately chose one of these faves, Mad Hatter's Tea Party, which had passionfruit and vanilla. I declined milk/cream, but did get lemon. There were rock sugar sticks on the table. It seems the selection of tea sandwiches and sweet treats changes every so often, although the vanilla bean scone, dried currant scone, Devonshire cream and apricot orange jam seem like constants. The sandwich selection at my visit were: cucumber, crab/creme fraiche, beet hummus on pita, smoked salmon and Suzanne's deviled egg. All were delish, the beet, crab and deviled egg especially. The sweet treats were: orange fig butter cookie, spiced apple brown butter crumble, cranberry frangipane hand pie, chocolate mocha macaron, pumpkin madeleine, plus the 2 scones. All were excellent. There were no leftovers. A bit pricey, but a relaxing and lovely experience. The room was not crowded when I visited, adding to the calmness of my visit.
