The worst drink of my life
    Gabriela B.

Cool laid back venue. Security and the man you check in with great friendly people. Bartender that's on Tuesday night attitude wasn't cool. And he made me the worst drink ever that was $16 bucks and I had one sip. Didn't touch it. Other than wasting my money. I enjoyed the show. For it to be an intimate venue, new bartender I would recommend who cares about his craft and customer service.

It's a cozy venue and you go for the vibes! Sound quality was great, loud and crisp. But not too loud to where the artist couldn't hear the audience, he heard our comments and responded so that was fun. Restrooms were nice and clean too.

Service was friendly. Valet parking next door is $30. Great spot for musicians to showcase their work, bands, music, talent. Venue was on the smaller side but intimacy was enjoyable.

Found this on my cloud, one of Meiko's show in 2012

Soooooo glad that I caught the news that they are closing this location early next year from KTLA last week. I went on their site and found out that Meiko will be playing on Saturday. I immediately canceled my plan and got a ticket to the show. It's been years since I went, last time they still have the parking lot at the back. I used to spend sooooooo many nights here, watching Meiko, Sara Bareilles, Ingrid Michaelson, Katy Perry, Lenka, Kate Voegele, Honey Honey, Asa, Anna Nalick, Rachael Yamagata, Butterfly Boucher and soooooooo many more. It is one of my favorite LA live music venue!!! And the sound system is even more amazing now!! It brought back so many memories, and I took so many pictures last night. You will be missed!!

I wanted to spark up my right side of my brain last night and since I happened to already be in LA I decided to spontaneously stop by the Hotel Cafe in hopes of listening to a random artist on a random Thursday night. Little did I know... I happened to walk in to Jesse & Friends Mix & Mingle event... At first it was every introvert's nightmare because of the encouraged socializing... but I later realized it was absolutely perfect because I was able to get samples of several artists all within a span of a few minutes. Although I was a bit reluctant to force myself to be social the one girl I met happened to be the musical act that I was most touched by and drawn to. Super happy that I stopped by randomly and also got to fill up my cup of ideas, creativity, and most of all - inspiration. Hotel Cafe will always be one of my favorite gems in LA.

Cool spot, will definitely come back. Drinks are good and bartender was fast. It has a speakeasy vibe but also felt like I went back in times.

Ambiance: it's a cool music venue for live performances, bars open at night, you can get admission tickets online or at the gate, very limited seats inside and you have to stand for most of the show Service: friendly and welcoming, served drink fairly fast Drink: no menu and they can do standard cocktails Moscow Mule - *** average taste Price: decent price for drinks in the area, each costs about $15

My friends and I stopped by the Hotel Cafe because one of their friends were performing. We entered through the side and paid the $10 cover. Entering the Hotel Cafe, it is VERY spacious. There's a bar. There's a stage. It was a good moment. The performers there did SO amazing .

Cute little venue in the heart of Hollywood. I went to go see Joseph Solomon and it was nice and intimate! The drinks weren't that great though but there are so many great bar and lounges around that you can make up for it after an event. Parking sucks as usual in Hollywood so make sure you give yourself plenty of time. Unless you wanna pay about $20 on a weekday for a lot.

My 3rd time here and it was a pleasant experience! This time I was in the main room and both artists started on time and sounded good acoustically ! Restrooms were clean and the venue was easily accessible via Metro Rail !

Cute and cozy to have your Fav singer. I only got beer so not sure sure about their cocktails, but loved the ambiance and lighting and sound system. They have patio for smoking. The only downside might be limited restrooms but still I had a great night .

It was my first time here, & it def won't be the last! I came to see Jeremy Passion & Gabe Bondoc. I loved the lowkey & intimate vibe here, & it wasn't crazy packed like going to bigger venues. There was very little seating, so prepare to stand which is fine since we were busy swaying. The bartenders were friendly & pretty fast with making drinks, & they are definitely stocked to make whatever is your favorite.

Raised my phone high to get a shot of Casey Abrams.

Ask the Community - Hotel Café

Do they or don't they have an open mic night? i'm seeing conflicting accounts

Going tomorrow, first time- performer goes on at 1030 but doors open at 630? Trying to figure out what time to get there. What time will they let us in?

Venu is so small you can just walk in. I am assuming they have opening acts so it's up to you on how early you want in.

    Is it 21 and over?

Yes, only performers can be under 21. All audience must be 21 or older.

How early do people need to get there in hopes of getting a seat? Specifically, for a 7:00PM show?

Unless it is someone very popular who sold out right away people don't usually show up until within 30 minutes of doors opening. However, depending on the show, they will reserve some seats and tables for the performer's guests.

Can I bring my bag in?

As in purse? I have brought in a small grocery bag with candy, cookies, etc. They don't serve food there.

Can you buy tix at the door?

Yes, usually. Sometimes the big draws will sell out.

What's main stage and second stage?

They have two rooms/stages and can host two separate shows/performers at the same time. Depending on the time, date, and show, if you are attending something there you can get one or the other.

Ima go see an artist at the end of this month its my first time at the hotel cafe. How is it ? Do we have to be standing up during the concert or is there chairs to sit down?

Hi Anie. We have seating in both rooms for around 30-40 people. The rest is standing room. All tables are first come first serve, unless reserved by artists. Thanks!

Anyone know how many people usually attend a show on average? Is it less than 100 people? Thanks!

There are two stages. At the main stage, acts have from a handful of patrons up to several hundred. Stage 2 is smaller, and typically has less than a hundred.

I there a cover charge even if you pay for a ticket to the show? Asking specifically for a show In September

No, there is no cover charge if you've bought a ticket to a show.

Do you charge a mandatory drink or food minimum? Also how much is entrance fee at the door?

Hey Pete. No drink or order minimum. Cover charge is usually $8-$12. sometimes its slightly more, depending on show. and one cover is usually good to stay the entire night.… Read more

We had two separate servers because one went home during the middle of our dinner and both were equally horrible. Not even exaggerating when I say we waited at least 15 minutes after we asked for the check and there were probably only 10 tables in the entire restaurant. And we had to call her back over to ask for a second time. SMH. The food although flavorful was so ridiculously priced it was not even funny. I got a "ribeye ". Was literally eight thin slices of steak, like 1" x 1" size for $42! No, I will not be coming back here for so many reasons. The view is great. Castaways is definitely not what it used to be in the way of quality but at least you get more and you get the view. But definitely not worth it going to this place. It was quite a frustrating evening. Also, if you do decide to go here, just bring a coat when it's a little bit cooler in the evenings cause it does get cold up here and getting the staff to manage the heaters correctly is a whole other frustration. Oh, and valet is your only option for parking up here. It's kind of crazy because a few years ago you could just go park in the lot or the garage that's available there but now they're charging you $11 and it's chaos. I will say that the view up here is great though so if you're willing to forgo all of that for a view for like a one time date or something like that, it might be worth it

My wife and my sister got the filet migons, watching my wife's euphoric reaction of taking her fist bite made my evening! However, the reason I'm giving 2 stars is because of the valet parking experience. First, I was charged $25 even though the sign clearly stated that valet parking is $17 for the first 3 hours, and $25 after 3 hours. Our reservation was at 6:30 PM, we arrived on time, and we left before 9 PM, so the charge did not make sense. When I asked the valet attendant, he kept saying, "because you dined there," without giving any clear explanation. If it is actually a flat rate for restaurant guests, then that should be clearly stated upfront to customers. Second, when I got into my car, I noticed that someone had touched the navigation settings because the compass direction and display were different from what I normally use. I do not understand why there was any need to adjust or touch my navigation system at all. I really think the restaurant needs to improve and better manage its valet parking system. Honestly, it felt like I was being charged a random price just because I was told, "you dined there." If there is a flat valet rate for restaurant guests, that information should be clearly communicated upfront instead of leaving customers confused at the end.

IF you have footage of a 90 minutes show then I'm sure you can post that as well LIE#3 The only thing Sergio didn't lie about is he didn't mention anything about the disgusting food and drinks I ABSOLUTELY DO NOT APPRECIATE ALL THESE LIES AND I HOPE NO ONE EVER WASTES THEIR MONEY ON THIS SHOW AGAIN!!!
