Great location. Awesome DJs. But could you fix the bathroom issues please. It's a drag.

Authentic rock 'n' roll venue with a lot of local, social life and talent. A little raunchy and unpretentious. Greedy and dark.

With its dark room, LED lighted theme, it was giving chill, dark alternative music vibes.

It's one…read moreof my go-to spots whenever we're bar hopping in the area--usually either the first stop or a late-night reset. The drinks are reasonably priced, especially for being right in the middle of Hollywood. Nothing fancy or overdone, just solid pours that get the job done without draining your wallet. The ambiance is where this place really stands out. It has that classic, slightly gritty old-Hollywood feel--dim lighting, neon glow, and a no-frills setup that makes it feel authentic rather than curated. It's the kind of place where you instantly feel like you've stepped into a different era. The crowd is usually chill and mixed--locals, regulars, and people who actually know what the place is instead of just stumbling in from the Walk of Fame. The bartenders are friendly and have that old-school energy, sometimes even sharing bits of history about the bar, which adds to its charm. One of the biggest advantages is the location. It's super convenient, right near the Red Line and easy to access, which makes it perfect for a night out without worrying too much about logistics. The only real downside is the size. It's very small, so it fills up fast, and it can get a bit tight depending on the night. But honestly, that's part of its character--it never tries to be something it's not. Overall, the Frolic Room is a true Hollywood classic: simple, iconic, and always worth stopping by.

The decor is retro and glitzy and makes you feel like you are stepping back in time into a world of neon. There was a decent amount of people there for a Thursday afternoon, but the noise level wasn't too loud. We could have conversations at a normal volume and not have to yell over each other. The bartender was very personable and able to keep up with everyone and didn't leave anyone waiting to get a drink. The jukebox is loaded with most every song you could want and we played our favorites in preparation for the concert.

This has easily become one of my go-to spots and one of my favorite bars in Hollywood. If you're…read moretrying to escape the hustle and tourist-heavy chaos around the Walk of Fame, this place is exactly that kind of reset. It's one of Hollywood's older bars, with real history behind it--reportedly frequented by classic Hollywood figures back in the day--and it even shows up as a filming location in movies like Ed Wood and others. There's a certain weight to that when you're sitting inside; it doesn't feel like a modern, over-polished bar, but more like something that's been part of the city for a long time. The patio is one of the best parts. It feels private and tucked away, almost like a hidden courtyard where you can actually relax without the usual Hollywood noise. Inside, the vibe leans into an old gothic aesthetic--dark, moody, and atmospheric in a way that works really well for the space. Drinks are reasonably priced for the area, and they usually have solid specials going on, which makes it more approachable than most spots nearby. The food, on the other hand, is pretty average--nothing special, but it does the job if you need bar food while drinking. That said, you don't really come here for the food anyway. Staff and bartenders are friendly and laid-back, which adds to the overall comfort of the place. It's got that rare mix of being iconic without feeling pretentious. Overall, it's a cozy, simple, and genuinely iconic Hollywood hidden gem.

They have a generous happy hour and frequent specials and I like their selection of whiskey. The food has always been solid, and most recently the beef nachos were the prettiest nachos I've ever seen and really delicious. The bartenders always have good vibes and are fun to hang out with. The music is usually good too but there is a jukebox as well so you can choose your own music. It's super dark and laid-back and historic and I can almost always find parking on the street nearby, so this is a standby for me.

After I showed them the cameras of him in the car waiting for me they insisted I bring him inside and then they gave him treats and served me with pleasure. Only problem is that every spot within walking distance was closed until 5pm. So rather than go home, we popped in here not really knowing what to expect and had a little drink before catching an Uber back home. I liked how the bartender immediately asked for ID from us both. My transition glasses hadn't even changed from dark to light before he asked and I couldn't see him properly, lol, which he actually noticed and acknowledged. My partner got a beer and I got a cider- they're cash only! That said, the prices are still what you're going to find anywhere else, so it kind of feels like they're trying to have their cake and eat it too. A few regulars were inside- I could tell by the way they all seemingly knew each other - which was nice. I imagine this spot gets plenty packed on the weekends or non-Sunday-post-brunch times.
