a dimly lit bar with red lights

First time here, Service was fine, drinks are very overpriced, not a fan of the area parking on street, was just not to safe walking to my car.

The room where comedy shows are held in is intimate (aka tiny). The bar literally takes up 1/3 of the room, the stage is like the size of an apartment kitchen, there is one wall of booth seating and the remainder of the room is sparse seating and standing room. If you don't want to stand for two hours, get in line EARLY and claim your seats. Otherwise, love the venue. I came here to see The Super Serious Show and had a great time! The music was great, the comedians were really entertaining and even though they don't serve food here, there is an tasty taco truck right outside and you can bring food into the venue. Definitely would love to come back.

Worst Venue I have ever been to. If you have an early event here be careful they just trying to use you as a cash grab.

To end the night before we headed off to dinner, we stopped by The Semi- Tropic bar for drinks. The parking situation was difficult to say the least-- there is no street parking or parking lot. And the neighborhood behind the bar is filled with park cars. We were lucky and parked at a parking lot that was for the surrounding business (so sorry to the pizza/ weed shop!). We arrived at around 6:30 PM so it wasn't too busy. We were greeted by one of the servers and she gave us options to either sit at a lounge table area or hightop tables. We opted for the hightop tables because we knew we weren't staying there for long. The server was friendly and patient as we looked over the menu for drinks. I've been sober for about a year so I only had water, my boyfriend ordered a Naoshima Dream, his cousin ordered a Mango Cart, and his cousin's girlfriend ordered a Lemon Drop Martini. The bar was super cute and hipster! I honestly would have loved going to this bar back when I used to drink. It's dimly lit, had a vintage 20's speakeasy feel to it and the music was a vibe. I'd recommend coming here for a little date with your partner or even coming with a group of friends. My boyfriend had been here once before and he said the food was really good and affordable. He had a panini and said for bar food it was a 10/10. We waited maybe like 10 minutes for our drinks to come, we were having such a fun time chatting and enjoying the environment that it didn't feel long at all. My boyfriend, his cousin, and his cousin's girlfriend really enjoyed their drinks. They said the drinks tasted "light" insinuating that there was barely any alcohol in it. Don't let the taste fool you, after finishing half of their drink there were full of smiles, giggles, and had a great buzz going. The prices here were all pretty fair for the cost and quality of the drinks. Would defintely recommend coming here for drinks and dinner for a date night or a night out with friends!

Indoor and outdoor seating available, Bar Henry is a cool little for in Echo Park serving up tasty cocktails in a friendly, local feeling environment. We tried a few cocktails when we visited. The Butthole Surfer is their version of a pina colada which, while decent, could have been a little more flavor forward. Feel it is premade in batches as I didn't see it made fresh but was brought getting the back, but still decent. The Lucid Dream had the smokiness from the mezcal posted with the mandarin, but then the rosemary comes in and helps add a little balance to the drink. The Swimsuit Edition was more flavor forward, but the passion fruit didn't necessarily pop in the drink for us. And finally was the Snitches Get Stitches, another mezcal drink with mango and horchats. Interesting was my first thought, then you start getting the nuances of the different interested and it's a respectable cocktail. Overall, good drinks, friendly people, chill atmosphere, and a nice addition to the bar scene in Echo Park

It was so milky, creamy, delicious... just like me. After a couple more variety of beers, obviously it was time to feast on a classic, timeless all American gem- the hotdog. We ever so gently asked our beer connoisseur, "Excuse me, what comes in the hotdog?" Our mouths already salivating at the prospect of this delicacy. To which the fine gentleman responded "Mustard, mayo and Ketchup." Please remember this important detail, it's crucial to the story. We were feeling very bold as one does when you are glutes deep in a Hazy IPA and a second Stout so We said "Perfect. All three will do." Our eyes were beaming, our spirits were lifting, our bellies were grumbling with anticipation. After a brief three minutes, there she was. The gleaming glizzy. Doused in an intricate, interwoven condiment presentation. So immaculate, so beautiful. With such a moment it was only appropriate that we share the gleaming glizzy Lady and the Tramp style. Yes, sexy indeed. As we hold up both ends of the glizzy to our mouths, locking eyes we simultaneously take one big bite. And then... The most overpowering sensation dominates our mouths, our noses, our eyes even. In a state of shock, teetering on a state of confusion and then rage we jolted. WHAT IS IN THIS HOTDOG??? Because that was not just any plain yellow American mustard. It was a pulsating fire rampaging through our nasal cavities. It was like the world had stood still and we lost sense of gravity. This is not to be confused with a disbelief of happiness. It was a disbelief of deceit. Once we grabbed a hold of ourselves and a grip of reality we waved down the fine gentleman and said, "Is this horseradish???" To which he retorted, "No, everyone asks that. It's Spicy Dijon" Bewildered we looked at each other and knew we were thinking the same thing. A piece of us died that night. In that bar. Because that was Spicy Dijon mustard coursing through our blood, our veins, forever seared in our memories. We were lied to. Made to believe that this gleaming glizzy was normal. Beautiful and unsuspecting. Not even the coldest winter day on the snowy slopes compares to the journey we took with this hotdog. Anyway service 10/10, vibes and drinks spectacular. Will be coming back!

The vibe is midcentury, neglected, gloomy, and masculine. (I'd bet that, fifty years ago, 7&7s were served here by the puncheon.) It's not the best stocked bar, so one shouldn't try to get to fancy with the mixology. The wine list is rather threadbare considering it's a French restaurant, and they were even tapped out of Kronenbourg 1664 -- the only French beer on offer -- on my visit. Cocktails are not very Gallic, either, mostly featuring vodka, tequila, and mezcal to appeal to local tastes. (While the French aren't the biggest cocktail drinkers, I'd expect to see the French 75, Kir/Kir Royale, Boulevardier, and Sidecar at the very least.) Honestly, 321 Lounge could be attached to any kind of nondescript restaurant, or no restaurant at all. There's nothing particularly French about it. But that also doesn't really really matter. Taix and 321 Lounge has a special authenticity that has nothing to do with France. As far as food goes, the specials for the brief happy hour aren't very exciting (Tempura shrimp? Again, not very French...), and it's best to stick to the restaurant's main menu. Service was direct and no-nonsense, somewhat earthy, but friendly. I was taken care of well. When I entered, there was only one other table occupied; when I left, the place was on its way to being packed. I must say, I really enjoyed the dark, throwback feel of the 321 Lounge, with its wood paneling and brick walls, faux barrels and faux barrel vaults. Places like this are rapidly vanishing in Los Angeles, so I hope 321 Lounge and Taix will stick around for a good long time to come.
