Recently came again with my roommie to see Janelle Kroll, Jagwar Twin and Transviolet. I decided to get some drinks this time around and shoutout to Kim for being an amazing bartender! She was very nice and chatted with us for a bit before it got busy. The AC wasn't blasting as much this time, which I was grateful for. I found out they have a patio in the back for smoking and the mural out there is really cool. I don't know if it was intentional, but I loved the glitter all over the floor out there. All the bands did amazing and they made really good use of the small stage space. Such great vocals! Jagwar Twin did have a cameraman on stage that was blocking my view for half the show, so that was pretty annoying. One of the security guards was pretty rude. He kept yelling at my roommie to move and "make a path" when he wasn't in anyone's way. There was already plenty of room for people to walk behind him, so I don't know what his problem was.

Oh man this place is awesome Cheap drinks Wasn't overly crowded. 15 dollar tickets to see the fame on fire band with 2 opening bands that were just as awesome. This place was so awesome. The only downside is it's hard to find parking in the area so make sure to come early and your going to be walking a few blocks so beware

I love the Echo, love that there's seating at the back, always saves the day. A good space.

I'm only giving The Echo four stars because they need to update their hours. That aside...this is one solid gem I wish I had discovered much earlier in my life as an Echo Park native. My friend invited me to watch a band this past Sunday, so I decided to finally make my acquaintance with the Echo Park landmark; ten-dollars at the door is not bad for what the venue has to offer. Spacious dance floor, retro wall art, and the bar has an array of available beverages that I haven't seen in any other bar in LA; from June Shine Kombucha, Cold Brew Coffee, and draft beers, The Echo caters to just about any drinking palette. What really caught my eye was the shelf full of candy; KitKat, Twizzlers, and Reese's Pieces, what a way to maximize your profits! No one is leaving the Echo without tipping the bartender at least once! The outside patio is also quite spacious and caters to consecutive bands playing at once within the venue; I was somewhat surprised to see children with their parents, but I suppose this explains the candy at the bar... In all seriousness, though, I love this place. Merry times all-around over good music, drinks, and candy? What's not to like? Would gladly come back to watch a band play on any given night.

Our first time here. Came here to see the kid's fave band. This venue, like many others in the Hollywood/Sunset Strip, is fairly small, dark space and a fun experience to check out new and up and coming new artists. The A/C was really cranked up which was nice especially during an unseasonably warm autumn evening. Limited drinks and snacks here, so check out the nearby places to eat within short walking distance. Parking, unbelieveably, we found a spot for free!

People were super friendly and helpful. Such a great show, great location, and vibe. Juliet Ivy's first tour and it was fantastic. Sabrina Sterling had her first concert here and I know they both are going to make it big

First time at this venue and honestly was kinda surprised by it. It's pretty small (kinda around the size of chain reaction if you took out the wall) but the overall sound packs a punch. The stage accommodated a 8 piece band with choreographed dances pretty well, which I honestly did not expect from the pictures online. There is also a full bar with reasonably priced drinks, for a venue in LA of course. I grabbed a Montucky for 10 + tip. My one gripe is the parking is a pain since there is no on site parking, but if you get there early enough you may get lucky like we did and get street parking fairly easily. Overall I would attend a show here again and now I want to check out the echoplex.

Cool intimate venue to see some local bands. Parking is a bit scarce but if you park by the nearby park you should be fine.

Ask the Community - The Echo

Do they make you empty your pockets?

yes. they also have metal detectors now.

    Is there food served here?

The menu shows you can get a cookie or chips. Some of the drinks may come with a piece of fruit if you count that.

Does the venue have air conditioning lol?

Yes. There is good ventilation/air conditioning at The Echo. It goes on periodically throughout the night so it doesn't get too hot.

    What's parking like?

A lot of street parking available, also there's a parking meter lot that's easy about 100 yds south.

Is there a coat check if it rains?

Good for a fourteen year old?

Make sure they bring some form of physical ID. My fourteen year old just got turned away at the door because she had a photo of her passport and no other physical ID with her.

Is this place good for hip hop?

Not that I know of. I've been coming here for years. It's best for indie and soul music.

    Is it 18+?

Depending on the event. Some are 18 plus others are 21 plus. Call and ask for the event you want to go to.

Do they have a rad jukebox there?

No jukebox at the echo or echoplex

About half a dozen customers were there, mostly hanging outside. First of all, the bouncers I interacted with were perfect. They were friendly, they spoke to me with respect and it was all normal and above board. On my way in, I saw a dude chilling by a plancha outdoors (no food cooking mind you), and then I see a sign that literally says "Taco Truck Menu" ON THE FRONT DOOR as I enter the bar! So I walk up to the bar, with a smile, and I go, "Hi! It's my first time here so I'm not sure how things work, I saw tacos outside, how does it work? Do I order with you?" Bartender (white dude, glasses): "Those are NOT tacos! We don't have a kitchen here." I was taken aback, because ok, like I literally just told you, it's my first time here, calm down bro. He goes on to explain that the food outside is "mashed potatoes." Ok cool. I'm sorry that I didn't know that I guess? ‍ I order my drink and think not much of it, but still find it a bit off-putting. I finish my beer. Get in line to order my next round. I see the Happy Hour menu and see you could get a 4100 beer and a shot for $10! Cool! I order that. "He goes what shot do you want?" I ask,"what you got?" He looked super annoyed and was like "it's well shots." I used to be a bartender, so I expect at LEAST a MODICUM of friendliness and hospitality from my bartenders. This dude just did not seem welcoming or appreciative of my business. I immediately asked for my tab and GTFOO there. Went to 33 Taps where I enjoyed a much more friendly atmosphere.
