Visited on a Monday - probably one of the hottest days in Southern California. Walked right in and was seated within a few minutes. Party of 6. We chose this restaurant based on the proximity to the ocean - family visiting from Germany and wanted to take them somewhere with nice views. Staff were friendly. We chose the mimosa flight $33 which included one kale apple, one watermelon, and one orange mimosa. Individually priced they are $16 so the flight allows them to be priced at $11, deal in my opinion. Basic mimosa, nothing fancy. For food we decided on: Vegan chopped salad ($21), the grass fed beef burger ($26), the crab cake sandwich ($32), the lobster roll ($38), and the shrimp tacos ($35) and the hangar steak tacos ($29) What stood out was the grass fed beef burger which included cabbage slaw, heirloom tomatoes, and a pepperoncini aioli! Burger was cooked as requested, medium. This was delicious, a bit spicy but delicious! The other dish that stood out was the crab cake sandwich. Crab cake was large and generous, nice flaked crab - crispy and golden on the outside and full of flavor! Overall, this restaurant was good. Great views and ample public parking lots near by.
Would 100% recommend this place for happy hour! $12 cocktails + a scenic ocean view?! You really can't beat that. We tried: Ocelotl -- Tequila, Xila, passionfruit, lime Gold Rush -- Bourbon, lemon, honey Both cocktails were AMAZING! The Ocelotl was fruity and refreshing, while the Gold Rush had that perfect sweet + citrusy balance. Service at the bar was also great and everyone was super friendly. Definitely coming back next time to try their breakfast and dinner menu!
My hubby and I had brunch at this restaurant. We have always wanted to check it out and I'm glad our adventure landed us here today. Beautiful beach front scenery. Everyone was super sweet and friendly. Our waiter was so attentive and nice. The food was top notch at a reasonable price. I highly recommend this place.
My friend and I stopped by for breakfast after a hot yoga session. It was before the lunch rush, so we were able to get a table overlooking the ocean on their outdoor patio. The açaí bowl was one of the best I've ever had. Ice cold puréed açaí and other fruit were topped with homemade granola, bananas and strawberries. So good! So cool and refreshing, especially after a hot yoga class. My friend had the yogurt, granola and fruit bowl and also liked it. This is a gorgeous place to visit for delicious food with a stunning ocean view. The staff were very kind and friendly, too. We'll be back!
Parking: Parking is NOT CHEAP. It'll cost you $25 hots to park next door in the lot. Also, the lot fills up fast. If you don't mind walking there is a shopping center down the road that you can park at. It's a trek back to the pier though. Intro: Malibu Cafe captures the perfect balance of great food and an unmatched coastal atmosphere. Situated directly on Malibu Pier, it offers sweeping ocean views whether you choose to sit indoors or out on the deck. Beyond the scenery, it's a prime spot for people-watching and watching the local fishermen. Food: Breakfast Sandwich- best thing on the menu. The egg is perfectly cooked. The Bacon is hearty and delicious. The Lemon Aioli is the secret ingredient that separates this breakfast sandwich from all the others. The breakfast potato's are seasoned well and also cooked perfectly. They are soft yet still crispy. My only complaint is that the "homemade" ketchup is straight ass. It tastes watery, too sweet and kind of unseasoned. Still 5 stars cause the food is bomb. 5 stars. Seasonal Banana Pancakes- they look great; however, they are just okay. The texture is moist, but felt a little under cooked? They use some type of grain flour so it's difficult to make them fluffy. The syrup was warm, the bananas were fine, and the candy pecans were a nice touch. In the overall pancake rating, I have had better. 2 stars. Surfers Rancheros- absolutely delicious. The egg is a little runny, the tortilla is STILL crunchy and not soggy, the beans and the sweet potato pair nicely to the overall dish. 5 stars. Final Thoughts: The coffee is good, the ocean views are unmatched, and the energy is top-tier. It makes a fantastic choice for brunch. As a bonus, ask for a coffee to-go before you leave and they'll happily fill a cup for the walk down the pier.
Malibu Farm was absolutely BEAUTIFUL! I loved everything about the atmosphere. The tables were set up so pretty with candles and flowers, and the entire restaurant had such an elegant, relaxing feel while overlooking the coast. They were also playing oldies music, which I absolutely loved! The music wasn't too loud either it was the perfect volume to enjoy while eating and taking in the view. I went with a family member and we ordered quite a few things to try. We started with a Vanilla Latte, which was adorable they even made a little heart in the foam! We also had a lemonade, which was a little too sweet for me personally, but still delicious. I just watered mine down a little bit and it was perfect. Now the FOOD!!! We ordered the Swedish Mini Pancakes, which were basically little crepes, and those were honestly my FAVORITE! Soooo good!! We also tried the ABC Tacos, which are breakfast tacos and definitely a MUST TRY absolutely delicious!!! We also ordered the Surfers Rancheros with chorizo, and wowwww, there were so many flavors going on! It was spicy and sweet at the same time hahaha, but somehow it worked soooo well. So flavorful and delicious! Our server was super attentive, and the bussers were on top of everything as well. Everyone was very friendly, and our food came out surprisingly fast! I also really loved the seating and how beautiful everything looked inside. They offer both indoor and outdoor seating, plus they have Malibu Farm merch available too. Overall, such a beautiful experience the coastal views, elegant setup, oldies playing in the background, delicious food, and great service all made it feel extra special. I would absolutely come back!
Plastic in food & Hard Poke fish!!! I visited Malibu farms this weekend after seeing the buzz online. We waited in a bee infested line for 45 minutes for "lunch transition", which I was happy to do. I ordered the poke bowl, which I was excited given the fact we were next to the ocean! Within 2 bites I was chewing a hard piece of plastic. I quickly reported it to my server who did not really have much to say about it. They brought out a new Poke bowl. Every single piece of fish I ate was hard, and not eatable. I was charged for the bowl. That is when the manager came over and explained that it is no issue at all, it is just a "ligaments". I explained that I have had many fish dishes and never have had this issue. I am glad a refund was issued but just disturbed about the whole situation. One nice point is the view was good! Would 100% not recommend Malibu Farms. There are many local places to try instead.
Went to Malibu Farm early on a Saturday morning, and this was actually my first time at the Malibu Pier. We got there a little early, so while waiting for the restaurant to open, we walked around and even got to chat with some of the local fishermen. The vibe was already so nice--peaceful, relaxed, and with that beautiful ocean view. As soon as they opened, we were seated right away. We got a great table overlooking the ocean, with a cool breeze and absolutely perfect weather. Honestly, it was the perfect way to start the morning. Our server was amazing and very detailed when explaining the menu. Since it was our first time, we took a little while deciding what to order, but we never felt rushed at all. We started with the ceviche with taro chips, and this was so good. The fish was incredibly fresh, and I loved the combination of cilantro and yuzu. Bright, citrusy, refreshing, and perfectly balanced. The taro chips were also a great pairing with the ceviche. My partner got the Hass avocado lox toast. The smoked salmon was beautifully seasoned, smoky, savory, and had a really nice richness to it. They also give you a surprisingly generous portion for something called toast! The creamy avocado, silky salmon, and fresh toppings all worked really well together. Definitely a satisfying and well-balanced dish. I had the shrimp burger, which was probably my favorite surprise of the meal. I originally thought it was going to be made with ground shrimp, but instead they use jumbo shrimp! The shrimp were grilled, smoky, juicy, and had a great texture. The chipotle aioli added just the right amount of creamy heat and really brought everything together. Such a unique take on a burger, and I would definitely order this again. For the side, I had the option of quinoa and rice. That part was probably the least exciting for me--nothing wrong with it, but nothing particularly memorable either. The burger definitely stole the show. And of course, the coffee was amazing. Overall, Malibu Farm was such a great experience. Between the ocean views, cool breeze, beautiful weather, relaxed atmosphere, attentive service, and really good food, it's hard not to enjoy yourself here. Definitely a spot I'd come back to, especially for a slow Saturday morning by the water.
Had a great lunch with friends. The food was absolutely amazing. And beautiful to look at. The table service was fast and efficient but we arrived between the lunch and dinner service so they made us wait for 45 minutes. There were actually people standing in line to get in and they seated us in the cafe which was already open. Why did we wait only to be seated in a portion of the restaurant that was open? Lucky for us we snagged a table on the beach. That made it worth the wait. It was breathtaking. They also allow dogs which is a plus or I would have given them a lower score for the wait.
Malibu Farm is one of my favorite spots in California! Anytime we're back in LA, this is always on my list of places to eat. The food is great, and the view is even better. It's right on the beach, over the water, so you can take a walk or even go for a quick swim after your meal. It does get crowded, so I'd recommend getting there early. Definitely a must visit when you're in the LA area.
Carson was awesome. Food was great and atmosphere is A1. Chicken burger and seafood tacos were excellent. Service was awesome. Street parking and paid parking nearby. Give this place a try if you want good food, good service, and right next to the pier.
Food was overall good. Some dishes were better than others. The cod ceviche was really good and tasted fresh, but it does have a spicy kick to it, so it's not ideal for those with acid reflux issues. The sea bass entree had good flavors, but the fish was a bit overcooked and dry, while the salmon entree was moist and tender. Cocktail drinks were also refreshing. Even though the staff were very nice and cordial, the service can be a hit and miss. There were moments where the servers were attentive, and other moments where no one came around for a long time. Some orders came out fast while other dishes took a while to come out. The ambiance is always great. Sitting there eating while enjoying the ocean view with the pier is always lovely and relaxing. The ambiance is one of the highlights of this restaurant and why I frequently dine here.
I really enjoyed Malibu Farm Restaurant. We stopped there this weekend and enjoyed the nice views of the ocean and good food. The lineup to eat here are long but seem to move pretty quickly. I had amazing fish tacos and my wife has the excellent crab cakes. Normally I would say you're paying for the view at these restaurants but the food and service was genuinely very good. Overall, it was a memorable experience!

Went on a Sunday as a walk in with no reservations (around 4:30pm) but there was no wait . Was able to be sat right away inside . We didn't mind because there was still a nice view . Ordered : - Cod ceviche 5/5 was very impressed with the flavor and freshness ! - poke bowl 3.5 / 5 it was ok. Fish flavor was meh and then it was just rice and avocado, idk I wouldn't order it again. - shrimp tacos - 5/5 delicious , good serving and grilled to perfection Drinks - white wine ( el gato) & carajillo (3.5/5) it was ok but it could be better. I've been trying to come here for lunch for a while (on the weekends haha), but the wait has been always so long that honestly I give up and go somewhere else! Finally, a friend and I came here on a Thursday for lunch at noon, and we were able to get seated without any waiting!! Even though it wasn't super busy at the time when we sat down, it still took awhile for the staff to come and take our order and later for the food to come out (maybe 25 mins?) -- it was OK because of the location and my friend and I were able to take some time to catch up and enjoy the view of the Pacific Ocean! The food was honestly pricier most likely because of the real estate! Our food in total came out to about $95 (with tip); and we got the shrimp burger + "build your own tacos"! The shrimp was okay - tasted a bit plastic-y, and my friend said the tacos were surprisingly decent! Not sure if I would come here again for the food in particular because of the price and wait -- but definitely for the views! However you could always bring food and then come by the pier to enjoy it haha. Maybe I would give it another try if I was bringing someone here to visit from out of town to give them that "Malibu" experience but won't be a go-to spot for me! Regarding parking, we were able to find street parking on the PCH, but there are also paid options nearby (I think $15??)! Regarding the bathroom, my friend said that she was able to go, and it was clean, but by the time I wanted to use the restroom, there was such a long line with maybe 10 people that I just gave up and went to the Malibu country Mart, which was five minutes away driving. TLDR, come for the views and the overall experience! read more
We came here for a birthday lunch and overall had a good experience. The location is beautiful, with a great view of the ocean, and the atmosphere is really nice. The only thing that didn't make a great first impression was that my friend wasn't allowed to be seated while waiting for the rest of us. We were looking for parking, which took about 25-30 minutes. Since it was her birthday, it would have been nice if they had let her wait at the table instead of standing outside. The food was good overall. We started with oysters, which were fresh and tasty, but much smaller than we expected. I had the shrimp burger. The shrimp and the sauce were a little too spicy for my taste, and the burger itself was quite dry. The small cabbage and carrot slaw underneath didn't really work with the shrimp and didn't add much flavor or moisture. I think replacing it with a fresh salad, or even serving a side salad instead, would make the whole dish much better. The rice was actually delicious, but the portion was very small. Overall, I'd give this place 4 stars. The food was good, the service was pleasant, and the ocean view is definitely the reason to visit read more
Great View, Fresh food, but wild prices! I went with my brother and cousin. We got nachos, the poke bowl, and a crab cake. All the ingredients were very fresh, felt homemade and made you feel good while eating. However these dishes are simple, easy to make at home if you have any cooking skill and are unreasonably priced in my opinion. I remember the nachos being $18+ or so and the other dishes being a bit more pricey. The views were great, but I don't think I see myself returning. This felt like you were paying for hype and for the scenic view. The service we got while there wasn't good as well and we had to flag down the server. Overall a good experience while in LA and I'm glad I tried it once while I was there, but I'll stick to cooking at home. read more
The restaurant has a prime location on the pier but I think that's their biggest draw. The food is ok. Service is also ok. We made a reservation for my birthday and wanted to see if we could sit an hour earlier, outdoors as my reservation had it. Instead of just telling us no, they had us stand there for an hour. I appreciate the effort but I could have done something else and came back. Ceviche was great. Crab cake was dry. Gnocchi was ok Pasta was good but very salty as if they doused it in clam juice to get seafood flavor in it read more

We did not have a reservation, but we walked in around 4:30 PM and they were able to fit a group of five at outdoor seating within 30 minute. Service was fast and our food came out fast as well. Dishes were average but liked that they have many vegan and vegetarian options. The best part of the restaurant was obviously the views and the location. read more

Really disappointed with Malibu Farm Pier this time. The food quality and menu selection seem to have gone downhill...everything was just meh and definitely not what I remembered. And how do you burn a hamburger?! A $26 burger that came out burnt, served with mashed potatoes and broccoli that looked like baby food. For that price, I expected way better. The views are still beautiful, service was alright, but unfortunately the food just isn't living up to the experience anymore. read more

Love this place. They have great food and the view over the beach is gorgeous. Stopped by a few minutes before they opened at 9am and there was already a line of 10 people in front. We were seated pretty quickly and service was great and pretty quick. I ordered the fried egg sandwich and a mint lemonade- both great! My son ordered a waffle and he liked it a lot, too. Carson and Yonathan were amazing and made my birthday brunch so special. Yonathan brought out ice cream and a candle without anyone even notifying him of my birthday. We moved to a smaller table once half our party left and Carson was equally as attentive and kind. 10/10 experience! read more
Ambiance and service? Hands down 5 stars. The setting is beautiful, and you really can't beat sitting by the water, listening to the waves roll in. The weather was perfect, and it made for such a relaxing brunch. Now let's talk about the food. I ordered the fried egg sandwich with bacon, havarti cheese, and lemon aioli on country wheat toast. Unfortunately, it was so bland. It honestly seemed like the eggs weren't seasoned at all. No salt, no pepper, nothing. It came with a side of potatoes and arugula salad, and even the potatoes lacked seasoning. Malibu Farm Restaurant... why don't y'all season y'all food?! The drinks, though? They were it. I ordered the mocha latte, and it was absolutely delicious. Not overly sweet, just perfectly made. I also tried the immunity flight, which included their wellness, immunity, and detox shots. Exactly what I needed. A little tip: they don't take reservations for brunch, so it's first come, first served. We dined on a Sunday around 11:30 a.m. and were seated right away. We've been here twice now, and I would definitely come back. I loved the ABC tacos (yummy salsa!) and mini Swedish pancakes (delicious berry compote and whipped cream!) for brunch. Giving it 3 stars because of the food. My friend got the salmon scramble and another friend just got the plain egg breakfast tacos. My friend's plain egg breakfast tacos tasted fishy. We were thinking maybe they just cook the same eggs on the same hot stove as the salmon eggs? The same friend with the salmon egg was about to eat her second piece of toast but she noticed there was a bunch of white fuzzies on it. We thought it was mold and notified the waiters. They took the toast back and told us it wasn't mold but the chefs put a white towel on top to cover the food to protect it. Still very gross and food safety hazard imo. We didn't get a picture of it because we were in shock and just wanted to go home. My burrito was good but could be seasoned a little more. The outdoor patio is nice. read more

I visited this place in the between time and I am so pleased at the service. I arrive around 2:30 and they weren't opening again until 3:15. They offered us open seating at the bar, or to take our food Togo and sit on the pier. We chose to sit in the bar, because it was beginning to drizzle. Had the weather permitted, we definitely would have sat on the pier. I had the coconut carrot cake and a Pinot Grigio. The chia granola and carrot cake were so delicious! You can make a reservation, or get there just before they open and be seated with no problem.

Yes they do take walk ins , the restaurant is pretty big and they have been great at accommodating.

How much does the city of Malibu fine you if they find your dog here? I know the restaurant allows dogs but they specifically state that the city may fine you if they see. Does the city actually patrol the pier looking for violations?
Malibu Farms is generally great about being dog friendly. No complaints or issues every time I've gone, including two weeks ago.
Is there a valet parking for the restaurant?
No valet but it's $10 to park in the parking lot adjacent to it. Max $15.
Where do we park?
There is parking lot at the pier where the restaurant is located for $15. Street parking is free however if you come on the weekend it's almost impossible to find street…
Is the cafe at the end of the pier open on Labor Day?
Not sure. Best to call them. Just google the number. I would think it would be open, but good luck finding parking.
Are dogs allowed?
While they don't turn us and our small dogs away technically you can get a hefty ticket since it's a state park being on the pier. If they are easily concealable you're probably ok.
What's good for dinner? I want to come on the evening and watch the sunset but do they sell lunch after noon?
I'm pretty sure they do The one at the end of the pier closes earlier than the one at the front

Yes! There is an area nearby that takes you down to the beach!

Praticamente tudo, mas os meus favoritos são a couve-flor pizza, nachos, stoplight tacos, burger, e bolo de chocolate grelhado !! As melhores bebidas não-alcoólicas são o kale e smoothie de maçã ea limonada de hortelã. espero que isto ajude!
