Iced Chai Latte
Ethan B.

Very friendly service, good crowd of people and great drinks. Had the Chai latte and it was great, others had cherry blossom coffee and enjoyed it as well. Would recommend.

Can't believe we didn't even know this was here till yesterday. We always go to Broad Street Oyster down the street and always thought this part was a dead end. I guess we never really paid any attention but there's a whole shopping center over here! Beautiful location with the perfect weather. We got lucky with parking, it's typically hard to find parking in this area in general. We walked over and surprisingly no other customers so we went straight to ordering an Iced Nola and Brown Sugar Pecan Scone! Somehow the first time I tried this chain was over at the century city mall and I absolutely loved it! Idk if this location just didn't make it as good and it wasn't as sweet n creamy as I liked but it was still good and drinkable. But I was over it halfway through. Still, not many coffee places around so it's nice that this one is here. Perhaps I'll try something else on the menu and may update my review. Also, the workers were busy chatting while making my drink so I wonder if they just didn't put enough creamer or something? We also had to wait for the young lady to finish her conversation with another worker before I paid because we wanted to add the scone to my transaction which took a few minutes. The seats and small tables outside were perfect. Nice shade and beautiful lighting for photos. IG: @ammysalamii

Loved my visit to Blue Bottle Coffee! Great atmosphere, delicious coffee, and warm, friendly customer service. My flat white was perfectly made, and enjoying it on the patio on a crisp morning was the best way to start the day. Highly recommend!

Look, they have bed liners!

It's my first review, and I'm impressed! We went there with Mommy and Daddy. Mommy brought my froggy changing mat, and we tested their changing table. The restroom is so clean, and the changing table is nice and comfy. They even have towels there! Keep up the great work!

I wanted to give another chance to Blue Bottle hoping this time I get a much better experience... Unfortunately, the coffee again was not good. My 3 stars are for the lemon loaf only... The place looks nice , but again I noticed the same things with the servers as I always did , which is treating customers differently. It is not that they are rude, but ignoring some customers and acting very quiet like they don't exist, while being very active with others... Im not sure if I will be back. Being treated on almost every visit as the same..

Matcha tea and butternut squash scone
Hanna K.

I got a hot matcha tea and a butternut squash scone, both of which were really great. Loved how strong they make the matcha. They had a great selection of pastries from Bakers Kneaded, and there were some light bites as well. The service was efficient and friendly, and the vibes here were very sunny and open. There are 8 or so tables outside, none inside. They also had some seasonal drinks that I'd love to try! Overall, a solid Blue Bottle location, would definitely return if I'm in the area again.

Open 630-630 each day, parking at this bustling Malibu center can be hit or miss. But then once you see the fit Blue Bottle Coffee shop, it just beckons you in. I believe them to have some of the best coffee in the game. That NOLA is so smooth and for a cold brew, you don't usually get it silky like that. I'm such a fan! This location has great staff, plus indoor and outdoor seating. Even cooler here? There is a community sensory garden so you can take your coffee over there, then listen to the pitter patter of rain drops in a bright blue rocking chair. Vibes and flavors for days!

Pistachio orange blossom tea cake, seasonal matcha latte with orange blossom
Susie D.

I remember going to the original BB in SF and was impressed then, and it's good to see that with all the success and expansion that they are still a reliable, solid option. I got the seasonal matcha latte with orange blossom. It was the perfect amount of floral. Not sweet (good!), but also not grassy enough, which is how I like my matcha. I guess I was in an orange blossom mood, because I got the pistachio orange blossom tea cake with it, which was moist and flavorful, the pistachio and orange blossom both coming out at the right levels. It's tough to maintain quality with such expansion, but BB does it. Good job!

Chocolate Croissant
Maggie P.

I got the chocolate croissant and it was really good. Ask for it toasted so it's warm when you eat it! Staff are also really nice.

Saffron Vanilla Latte
Tara B.

They do things in a special way here. I had a Saffron Vanilla Latte and it was delicious and definitely special. Yummy!

Ice latte

We needed some caffeine on our way to a wedding and luckily found this coffee place. Small shop but big flavors Fast service and friendly staff I ordered various drinks but couldn't remember what my drink was called, but it was a refreshing mix of coffee and sparkling soda. The Almond croissant was so flaky and buttery And the chocolate chip cookie just melted in your mouth

Slow, rude, expensive... almost try to talk you out of ordering something so they don't have to be inconvenienced to make it.

I wasn't even aware they closed at 1:00 PM, but regardless, closing the doors before the posted time is unacceptable. There were at least 3-4 other cars and multiple people standing outside, clearly hoping they would still be let in. People drive 10-20 minutes to come here, only to find the store closed early. I'm not local, but I've visited this location a few times when I've been in the area. The local customers standing there were visibly disappointed. This is a very effective way to lose customers. The real issue is not just the hours -- it's the lack of care. Closing at 12:57 and then, when questioned, telling customers it was already 1:00 PM feels dishonest and dismissive. The employee's name was something like Manuel Arbitara, as far as I can remember. I would encourage the owners to review the camera footage and properly train their staff on customer service and professionalism. A secondary issue is the store hours themselves. Closing at 1:00 PM on weekdays may make sense if your customer base starts their day early, but weekend mornings are different -- people tend to get out later. Closing that early on weekends seems out of touch with customer behavior. And finally, the lack of alternatives in the area may be part of the problem. Competition tends to improve service. A good coffee shop nearby might encourage a more customer-focused attitude. We need a Verve Coffee in the area to show how it's done.

Today, it was Pura Vida in Malibu, located in the same commercial plaza as Madhappy / Pantry, Frankies Bikinis, Be Kind Studios (pilates), and a soon-to-be Wally's. I really liked Pura Vida because of it's "health and wellness" angle. In re-reviewing the menus here, I noticed several items that were over 1,000 calories - not quite as health-conscious as I remember, but I knew it had to be just as delicious. Thankfully, I was right. I had the Spicy Tuna Poke Bowl which comes with a generous helping of avocado, cucumber, arugula, green onions / scallions, radish, spicy mayo, cilantro rice, and raw tuna. For about $35 with tax and tip, this was a rather hearty lunch that two people could easily share. I didn't mix it, as I prefer to eat ingredients separately, and received a soy ginger sauce on the side to complement the flavors. My friend opted for the Spicy Salmon Wrap, made with a specifically gluten-free wrap. That option comes with cooked salmon (which she found to be dry), edamame, carrots, avocado, and cilantro rice - as well as a side of fruit and the same soy ginger dressing/sauce I had. She wasn't wow'ed by the flavor, which may be because of the wrap, or the gluten-free nature of the preparation, or the salmon itself. The exterior patio seating is new, fun, and reminds me a bit of the La La Land coffee shop in Calabasas. Gorgeous place to have brunch or lunch outdoors and soak in some Malibu overcast. Service was efficient, personable, and polite. Plenty of staff to handle the crowd on a Saturday afternoon. Food came out quickly and tables were bussed in a timely manner. Free parking is available in the back lot, or else in the underground garage. There's also valet parking for $8 (all-day) toward the front.

Other must-haves are the perfect egg sandwich and croissant sandwich. Drinks are a plus, clean without the jitters, and service is eh, but they're always busy, so it is what it is.
