Ooh la la. This is living. Le Cafe Plage in Malibu is such a chic spot. The staff could not be more amazing, especially Francois who is from France and Mia. Everything is fresh, fast, organized, and so beautifully done. I do not agree with any review that gives Le Cafe Plage less than 5 stars! I ordered the tuna wrap, and I was absolutely delighted by how good it was. Don't be alarmed when you see it--the tuna is so chunky that I actually brought it back at first because I thought they had given me chicken! LOL. Alad the tuna salad has egg, tomatoes, and onion in it, and it is REALLY good. I especially loved the balsamic vinaigrette that comes with it. It completely lived up to its reputation. it's also a huge portion, so come hungry. Everyone recommended the Caesar salad, so that's definitely what I'm trying next time. I also saw people getting the ice cream, and it looked insanely good. The French attention to detail reigns throughout--from the food to the beautiful cutlery to the Japanese strawberry matcha. I also got a hazelnut beignet and a slice of chocolate-hazelnut cake to go. The merch is also amazing very California and that's kind of when it all comes together to make this an absolute must visit THE BEST VIBES spot if you're new to or juat visiting California. We came for lunch on a Sunday while visiting my friend's daughter at the university. This place is pretty busy. You wait in line, place your order and you receive a buzzer when your order is filled. You eat outside. I ordered the salmon salad. I was told I can get one from the refrigerator. Not knowing how long it was sitting there I asked if they could make a fresh one which they obliged. It was a very tasty salad. I wish there was a little bit more salmon though. What time was a little bit longer than I thought for a salad but I guess this place is busy with lots of orders. Save your money, people. I went here twice in the past week and was disappointed both times. I ended up spending around $45, which made the experience even more frustrating. The first time, I ordered a matcha, and it tasted like straight milk with barely a sprinkle of matcha. I was also planning to get the Caesar wrap, but I was told it would be a 50-minute wait, so I decided to come back another day when I had more time because i had seen it on someone else's plate and it looked soooo good. Unfortunately, my second visit was even more disappointing. The place was pretty empty when we arrived, yet we still waited around 30 minutes for our food. The Caesar wrap was honestly one of the worst wraps I've ever had. I hate wasting food and will usually finish something even if I don't love it, but both my partner and I felt so sick after two bites that we had to throw our wraps away. I also ordered another matcha because I thought maybe the first one was poorly made because they were busy that day. Unfortunately, it was no better the second time. On top of the food, the person taking my order was quite rude and unwelcoming. A little kindness and a smile really do make a difference. Overall, my experience was disappointing from the food to the service. I wanted to give this place a fair chance by coming back twice, but unfortunately, both visits left me disappointed. read more

I came here right after the Point Dume hike and the place was very aesthetic they had flowers on the wall and a pink piano! The cashier was nice and the food was actually surprisingly good. I really enjoyed the prosciutto sandwich, though I did take off a lot of the arugula since it came with way too much for my liking. But I LOVED THE ORANGE JUICE. It was ACTUALLYYYY fresh! The price was around $50-60 with tip for 2 orange juices and 2 sandwiches, I didn't get to try the coffee or the pastries, but I loved how they had a French flag on them! I absolutely love the way they package their iced vanilla latte! Like a soda can with a pop top! Service is always super friendly and all the customers our neighbors. This is a very social spot. The cutest cafe ever! Parking is actually horrendous because it's next to a pavilions so it's hard to find a spot amongst grocery shoppers. But once you get past that, the inside is very cute and all the employees are so nice. Seating is mainly outside, the weather was beautiful so we didn't mind. I don't normally order sandwiches but the California Chicken Avocado Baguette was calling my name and I answered. It was very savory with a very slight kick of spice. The balsamic vinaigrette salad that it came with, was genuinely, the best salad i've had in a long time. It came with the perfect amount of dressing, salt, and pepper. The only stars I'm giving are for the service I received because the drink was mid. Drink 2/5 The hot mocha had a cute heart latte art on it. The cashier had informed me that they use cocoa powder so it will not be sweetened and I was okay with that. However, all I tasted was milk & cocoa powder. The drink tasted just like the "sipping chocolate flavored cocoa mix" from Trader Joe's. The espresso was nowhere to be found. Service 5/5 The cashier was warm & welcoming. I also got a "have a nice day" from the barista even though the cafe was really busy and had people standing in line at 10:30 am on a Friday. Price Prices seem average & reasonable for a coffee shop in Malibu. However, given that I didn't love the drink, I'm not sure it was worth $6.75. Ambiance The interior is aesthetically pleasing but there's very few seats inside so most people use the common outdoor seating. It was a half size baguette and was just too small especially for the price. And there was a minimal amount of buffalo mozzarella, wasn't burrata so why be cheap when you're charging a full sized sandwich price. The sandwich was ok, just ok. Wouldn't pay for it again. I heard their big seller is hand crafted ice cream. That I'd be willing to try and go back for the special ice cream. Stopped here on our way to point dume. I've been here a few times and this was my first time trying the pastries. The scone was delicious, a little lacking in butter but so light and not overpowering sweet. I got the lavender honey latte and was very happy. Wow! This place is incredible! They have the most delicious in house pastries (today I had the matcha blueberry loaf). The owners wife makes them! I am gluten free and this one was gluten free which is amazing! Their coffee hits the spot, and they do that cute design on top of their hot drinks. Cute location, interior. Service was soso. Came here because the baguettes looked amazing. In reality, looks nothing like pictured!!! They're also super thin but tastes ok. We also had to wait for a new batch of baguettes, almost 20 minutes. We weren't informed that they ran out when ordered. We needed up waiting forever and ordered a sourdough sandwich. Sadly, both sourdoughs were hard as a rock! They were out of a lot of baked goods too and we got there around 3.
