Very yummy drinks, I got the strawberry matcha and it was delicious. Yummy strawberry puree, the matcha itself wasn't too sweet which I like. My boyfriend got the Chai and it was kind of spicy haha. This place was expensive though, just as if not more expensive than Starbucks. They also had interesting options. The service was meh, they were super fast with preparing our drinks but there was no customer service, like smiling lol. But oh well the drink made up for it. Seems super casual here, it's in like a shopping center/plaza with a bunch of other shops around it. Plenty of parking. I want to come back to try more of their drink options! read more

We came here on a Sunday morning and it wasn't too busy! I was greeted when I walked in and the cashier took my order right away! She was kind and helpful! I ordered a ham and cheese croissant and she asked if I wanted it warmed up and I said please! I got a strawberry matcha and an iced chai latte. I also decided to get a bagel with plain cream cheese. I waited for my name to called by the side and my drinks and food came out pretty fast. It was getting busy as I was waiting! The barista was moving quickly and he was doing a good job! The inside isn't big at all but still spacious! They have tables outside you can sit at and a spacious parking lot because it is in a shopping center. This place has parking and is located near a bunch of little shops! This place is such an amazing spot to hang out with your family! Since this chain is pretty popular, there are a ton of people coming in and out. It's quite lively. Very nice and spacious inside where you order. To sit and enjoy your drinks and pastries is outside. We got a vanilla iced latte. I like my coffee sweet, and it was just that! Everyone always says Alfred Coffee has some of the best drinks in town! And they aren't wrong. It's one of those coffee shops that I can go to different locations and the drinks are always solid. I popped into the Malibu location this morning for an Iced Matcha Pumpkin Spice Latte. Didn't know that was a thing? It so is and it is so delicious. Absolutely loved it! This location is great because it has a nice big parking lot around a lot of stuff. It was quite busy for a weekday 7:30am, as well. I used the app to pre-order and my drink was ready right on time. I think my only critique was I didn't receive any greeting when I entered the shop, which is fine, but when I went up to grab my drink & thank the team - no one acknowledged me. Bizzare to not respond to someone saying thank you, but...it was early? haha Either way, I've been to this Alfred Coffee before and I will surely be back to it again! read more

Came in on Jan 4th at around 10 am and the 2 girls working were so rude, me and my cousins came in giving Alfred's a try for the first time. So we were excited since we had heard good things, when we walked in a girl with a red striped beanie came to the register to take our order without saying anything we let her know that we were still looking at the menu and just said okay rolled her eyes and walked away the other girl ended up talking our order who also seemed miserable to be at work! I had been to their other location in Brentwood and this one is smaller outside, bigger inside. There are some small metal frame tables outside on the patio; otherwise it's clean and well lit inside the café. . They have a merchandise wall complete with tea blends, vanilla syrup and a rechargeable whisk. Service was steady. It picked up in foot traffic the second I stepped in there right around 7:30am. . My work gives me free croissants for breakfast so I got an 8 ounce hot chocolate with macadamia milk to supplement it. They kept me warm, but I wish it was sweeter. Should've got a sweetener. What I really like about this place is that they don't charge extra for alternative milk. The lid for my hot chocolate was faulty though, it spilled several times all over my uniform so I took it off to finish the drink before work. . It's a great local coffee shop. The lobby is spacious but cold and uninviting--much like the atmosphere created by the staff. The baristas often seem disengaged, offering minimal greetings and even fewer smiles. The coffee is just okay, and while the food is decent, asking to have something warmed up is often met with an eye roll--and the results are inconsistent. First time trying this location at Alfred's Coffee. They have both indoor and outdoor seating, which was nice and gave it a relaxed vibe. There was plenty of parking available, which is rare for most coffee spots. There was no line when we got there, and the coffee took about 5-10 minutes to be ready. Everything tasted great. This location changed from using a La Marzocco semi automatic espresso machine to a fully automatic Eversys Shotmaster similar to what is in Starbucks and La La Land. The coffee no longer tastes very good IMO which is such a disappointment! Only noticed after tasting the coffee and went back to look. I know the newly opened store in Encino still uses a normal espresso machine so I'll continue going there. Hopefully Alfred gets the message! It's my favorite coffee shop! read more

I visited the Malibu Market shopping area today on PCH for the first time in a while and wanted a cup of coffee before I attended a meditation session at the Mindry. I ended up where I thought the Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf was and instead it seemed it was replaced by Alfreds'. I ordered a Coconut Milk hot Latte and a Gibraltar, ALL of the big franchise coffee shops have no idea what a Gibraltar is, also known as a Cordoba or a Piccolo- to our surprise they had a Gibraltar on the menu board. Both of our coffees were made to perfection and they tasted spectacular; rich, in taste and full of aroma. The exterior and the interior of the coffee shop was pristine with an artsy influence. The staff were also exceptionally nice and knowledgeable. If you are traveling anywhere in Malibu or on the Pacific Coast Highway I highly recommend stopping in and make sure you bypass all of the franchise coffee shops along the way and any other coffee shops for that matter. In my opinion this is an absolute must try!!! As a footnote there are only approximately 20 other Alfred locations with the first one and the most famous one being situated on Melrose , (since 2013) which is often frequented by celebrities. *They do not accept cash *They were slightly limited on their non dairy milk options, ie. it didn't seem they had unsweetened options at this particular time. read more
