While staying at a cute Airbnb in Topanga, CA we decided to stop here for a small breakfast as it was recommended to us by the host! I got a ham & cheese croissant and cappuccino while my boyfriend got the avocado toast on a bagel as well as a breakfast danish. The staff was very friendly and there was little wait to order. This is a small little place with both indoor and outdoor seating available! Breakfast options are limited but everything tasted good. There aren't views per se but for being out in Topenga, it was great. read more

Decent food. Good prices. Coffee is hit or miss depending on who's making it. The French lady with the white hair makes fabulous coffee, but the rest of the staff seem to not care...like, at all. They barely say hello. Act like they've been working in the mines all day with how gloomy they constantly seem. I've worked in restaurants my whole life and it frustrates me how the simplest act of being welcoming seems to be so difficult for so many service workers. With today's tipping culture, service industry jobs can generate pretty decent cash. The schedule flexibility is awesome and you can take your resume anywhere despite taking years off. It's a shame people see these jobs as not worth the effort. Kindness can make someone's whole day. Service is a privilege. Not sure I'll come back, but if I do I'll be looking for the French gal. read more

Quaint little cafe tucked in the Topanga Canyon hills. The croissants were light & flaky and the breakfast burrito was filled with tator tots and bacon wrapped with a lightly crisp tortilla. Cute little stop over to grab a tea or coffee. They have many specialty teas you can choose from along with some small wares to browse. Lovely little shared patio area with water feature off to the side of the store and a nice front space to sit outside and some indoor seating as well. WiFi is available if you need to get some work done too. The service was very friendly and the girl at the counter was very sweet in walking me though the drink options and ways they could be customized to preference. I got the Bhakti chai with oat milk which is an actual steeped tea spiced with ginger and sweetened with honey and very good. If you're looking for a more traditional tasting chai I'd recommend it. The others looked like they had interesting flavor combinations like mandarin and rose, but some are a sweetened powder so be mindful if you don't like things as sweet. They also had some specialty mushroom lattes (loin's mane and rishi I believe) to choose from as well. There are some pastries (gf options available) that looked just okay, I didn't try any though. There are also some hot breakfast and Cole salad/sandwich options as well. If you're looking for a quick stop over as you're driving through the canyon, it's a good place to grab a fast bite and be on your way. read more

Cafe Mimosa is a cute Topanga Canyon cafe with excellent coffees, teas, smoothies, baked goods, and food menu. The overall vibe is easy breezy creative canyon casual. While I was there, a few folks popped in to pick up a drink and bite to go, a couple of people in full bicycle rider gear/helmets took a break with drinks outside, a small group of local teenagers sat out front chatting with their drinks and food, and a long-bearded gentleman sat at the front window engrossed in a book. Love the cute modern shabby chic ambience. There's some seating outside in front in the form of a few sets of two-top patio tables and assortment of chairs mostly in the shade, which can be maneuvered around as needed. In the back/side area outside is a small sort of courtyard with a bench and another little sitting area. Inside the cafe itself is very clean, spacious, and well-lit with good seating and a couple of bar seats by the front window. Their specialty is coffee/tea, for which they have a huge menu/variety of options, including unique teas and chais you don't see anywhere else, all the types of coffee drinks from flat whites to cortados, and just about every kind of milk (whole, half and half, oat, soy, coconut, sweetened/unsweetened almond). I had a coconut cream chai that was heavenly. They also have a few specials that they switch up. Their food items are exceptional. Aside from fresh baked pastries including gluten free options, they offer an excellent breakfast burrito (one of their most popular items that they sometimes sell out of), quiche, sandwiches/wraps, salads, vegan chili, avocado toast, and bagels with all the trimmings available. A standout item to me however is their "Mimosa Bun," which is an indulgent brioche bun with a kale pesto spread and melted Swiss cheese, topped with egg, tomato, and perfect avocado, served open face. The ingredients are in perfect proportion and their flavors really work together exceptionally well and are amazingly delicious in unison. This is an absolute winner of a dish and can be quite filling, so I recommend splitting it with a friend, or just eating half now and half later. It is really so so good. There's limited parking on the busy street, so be careful and courteous. I love this perfect little Topanga Canyon cafe and highly recommend it! read more

It was my first time so I did opt fr a safe drink option and was pleasantly surprised, it honestly wasn't the best vanilla latte I had but I didn't find it to taste bad and was able to drink it! I'm usually very strict with my vanilla lattes and tend to not drink it at all if I find it nasty. But this place to my surprise wasn't half bad. I think this place is more about the experience and location than the actual food or coffee. It's located off Topanga Canyon, if you're outside for a cruise on an early weekend morning it's definitely a good place to stop by for a break. It's a cozy little cafe off the road, that had a small selection of food, and drinks to offer. Don't let the name fool you however, they don't serve any Mimosas or alcoholic beverages! We ordered a few things including the quiche, tater tot burrito and some coffees. The food tasted quite bland and you could tell it was reheated and/or previously frozen. It wasn't bad, but it also wasn't the home cafe taste that I expected. The food however was prepared fairly quickly and the servers who were also the cooks were quite friendly and nice. Definitely stop by for the experience as this is a cute little cafe in the middle of some of LA's best driving roads, but just don't expect the food to knock you off your socks. read more

This was a cozy little cafe that's convenient for hikers in Topanga Canyon. The service was okay. The person who took my order offered to add an omelette to my mimosa toast because they had run out of soft-boiled eggs but then forgot about her offer, so she got my order wrong in the end. The tomato chutney was also too sweet, so it tasted more like a jam. The coffee tasted so-so. I ordered a flat white, but it came out as a cappuccino. I also asked for the coffee to be "for here" so I could use one of their ceramic mugs or cups, but it came in a disposable cup instead. I went here a year ago before the fires and had tried some pastries and at the time they seemed good(almond croissant and chocolate croissant). Fast forward a year later- my boyfriend came back with two pastries a chocolate cherry brownie and a lemon blueberry bar- both of which were disgusting and absolutely inedible. This makes me sad for Topanga. 13$ for this? Ugh. Do better. I would attach a photo but they are in the trash already. I found this little hidden gem in Topanga. As all of the other reviews mentioned, the baristas are so sweet. It's not the best latte you can get but it's not bad. It's kind of a trek to get to and only the parking in front of the shop is theirs. There is some street parking but it's kind of far and it's a busy street. However, the real treasure is great seating and a cute little patio. I went in the afternoon so it wasn't too busy. I was able to get a table and work for a few hours. read more

This is my new favorite spot in Topanga Canyon! I've driven by here many times, and never gone in. The breakfast here is fantastic. They have really good coffee and make a great bagel and lox. With Topanga Canyon Boulevard closed right now due to rockslides many businesses in Topanga Village are struggling to survive because axis is only from the valley not PCH . Please help Claire out. I chose to try Cafe Mimosa mostly out of convenience while on break from work in the area. Not only was my experience quick and easy, but I found myself struggling to choose from all their tasty sounding menu items and intrigued by all the locally sourced merchandise for sale. Luckily the knowledgeable staff was super helpful in my decision-making process. Of course, this is still a cafe-sized menu, but I was particularly impressed with their array of chai styles and smoothie choices. I ended up going for a pirate's chai latte and spinach/mush burrito. The latte was solid for sure, though I've had better. I was more interested in the quality and kinds of cheeses in the burrito. It was surprisingly exceptional for a simple breakfast burrito! All in all, I highly recommend this spot if a long Topanga Canyon drive has you feeling hungry and/or thirsty. read more

I loved that yummy yummy lil chocolate pastry thingy. Along with the hot chocolate this was my go to place for when my aunt got married and I had to travel to Topenga. This food made me almost forget how BAD of an Airbnb I was morooned in. The lady at the front was so polite and she made me an extra yummy scrumptious hot chocolate. The place itself was cute, just a little hard to find if one is spacey but CUTE. My little child Cicil LOVED going to see the wide array of pastries waiting there for us to discover. Cafe Mimosa is one of those places that you want to fall in love with. It's set right in the heart of the little town of Topanga, which is already a haven in the midst of the greater Los Angeles Metro. The shop itself is charming -- exactly what you would hope to find in this type of town. Earthy, bohemian energy with lots of lovely natural elements. A few years back, Cafe Mimosa was part of my regular morning rotation, as I got creative with my morning commute from Tarzana to Mar Vista (where I worked at the time). I'd take Topanga Canyon town to PCH on some mornings to inject some natural beauty into my workweek, as opposed to spending day after day after day sitting in traffic on a gridlocked freeway. I came here often for my morning coffee, and have ordered everything from drip coffee to espresso. As lovely as the physical space is, it never made up for the mediocre java and staff who could be very hit-or-miss in terms of friendliness. There were some members of the team who were lovely, and others who were somewhat snobby/elitist, which is the kind of energy I venture up to Topanga to escape. Cafe Mimosa isn't "a bad stop", and it's not "a complete waste of time and money", but it certainly could be better. And I very much wish it was. read more

Yummy! For a cafe on the side of a winding road where I don't have cell service this place is pretty great! The staff was attentive and worked hard to get our food out in a timely manner (maybe 15-25 minutes for a fair amount of items). My bf asked if they could make a hybrid strawberry-banana smoothie and they delivered. The mango smoothie was refreshing and not too sweet, which I appreciate. The quiche was good sized and had a nice flavor. I'm not too big of a fan of the crust, but that's just my preference. The atmosphere is fun and welcoming; this is definitely a place where locals hang out. There is room both outside and inside for seating, though we happened to arrive at a busy time. We got lucky with a parking spot right out front. There also seemed to be street parking. read more
