I visited on a Saturday morning right when they opened and was seated immediately. It was a bit chilly that day, but the view and overall ambiance were still really nice. The servers were friendly and attentive, and the food came out quickly. I ordered the pistachio matcha and the lobster Benedict- both were great choices.

My mother was visiting Los Angeles and we spent a couple of nights in Topanga. I heard how quaint cafe on 27 was so we had dinner there on Saturday night. We were totally impressed by the service from the host at arrival to the servers and bussers. They were all so sweet and I have to say very attractive!! Food was perfect, had the ribs which were HUGE and tasty. The Dubai Chocolate cake was to die for. And of course the views which the cafe is famous for were beautiful. Will be back for sure. Thank you for everything :)

Absolutely love this place!!! From the views to the food to the service--everything was amazing. We came in on a Saturday afternoon for brunch and honestly expected a long wait, but it wasn't bad at all--about 25 minutes. While we waited, we explored the little boutiques inside, which were such a cute touch and definitely worth checking out. Once our table was ready, we were seated downstairs where the atmosphere was incredible--surrounded by trees, fresh air, and the perfect amount of shade. Such a peaceful and beautiful setting. Dorsa who was our waitress was so sweet and patient with us and all of our questions , we love good customer service !! For drinks, we tried the strawberry matcha (not really my thing, but that's just because I'm not a matcha girl) and an iced vanilla latte, which was sooo good--super creamy and just perfect. For food, I got the filet mignon stroganoff and WOW... 100/10. The meat was cooked perfectly and the sauce was chef's kiss. My sister ordered the lobster roll--super fresh with great flavor--and my brother-in-law got the chicken parmesan, which was next level. It was crusted in parmesan cheese instead of the usual style, and it added so much flavor. They didn't really have a kids menu, but there are enough sides to make it work. Overall, this spot is perfect for anything--family gatherings, brunch with friends, or even a cute date. I would definitely come back!

Such a beautiful view of Topanga! Definitely a great place to take visitors. Try and say hi to the restaurant cat if you can. The food is a bit pricey but good quality and you're paying for the mountains too. The standout dish was the lemon blueberry pancakes! Such a moist and decadent texture. The citrus punch helps to cut the sweetness from the blueberries and syrup. My friend's omelette was pretty standard but came 15 minutes after everyone else's food which was quite a bummer. The chinese chicken salad was super refreshing after a long hike. Loved all the crunch bits and the uniform slicing on all the ingredients. The pastrami sandwich was far from traditional but so so good. Definitely rich so I would share! The egg got all over in the best way.

Cafe on 27 is one of the most beautiful brunch places I've been to in LA so far. It's so nice to eat surrounded by nature and beautiful birds. The ambiance of this place is just so peaceful and the perfect place to go on a beautiful sunny day. My boyfriend made reservations for us around 1:30 pm on a Sunday. I'd recommend to make reservations prior to going here, especially on the weekends because it does get quite busy and crowded. It's quite the popular place, and now I understand why. Once we arrived, we mentioned our reservation and we were told where to sit. We had one of the high tables with a great view and luckily we were not directly in the sun which was nice. Our server came and checked in with us a few minutes after we got seated and was friendly. I ordered the lobster roll and a decaf latte and my boyfriend ordered the Pastrami Benedict and an iced tea. The Benedict came with a tahdig which was so creative, and my boyfriend loved it. The food arrived quickly, was a good portion size, and was delicious. My coffee was really good as well. The menu itself has a lot of amazing flavors and varieties, and options for everyone. Overall, between the amazing nature views, food, and atmosphere, my boyfriend and I had an amazing time there. I should mention that It's not the cheapest place. It's a bit on the pricey end, but I'd be willing to pay the price for the ambiance and food. I should also mention that they have two cute little stores by the entrance. One of them was a jewelry store where they had a lot of cute evil eye and hamza jewelry, which I loved. I ended up purchasing a necklace, which I love. I can't wait to come back here for brunch and to shop for more jewelry soon!

If you're coming for the treehouse vibes and stunning views, Café on 27 absolutely delivers just come prepared to wait. We were blown away by the beautiful, spacious outdoor setting. It truly feels like a scenic escape. It does get extremely busy, so reservations are a must. We had a 1:30 reservation, checked in early at 1:00, and were told we could be seated sooner at 1:15, but we weren't seated until about 1:35-1:40 after checking back in. Expect a wait even with a reservation, and I recommend coming with four people or fewer to avoid longer delays. As for the food, the Wispy Crispy Chicken Sandwich is a must-try absolutely delicious and to die for. I ordered the Hearty Tuna Melt, which was also excellent and something I would come back for. The iced coffee was great as well. For dessert, we tried the Fluff Giant Pancake (ricotta blueberry pancakes with berry maple syrup), but unfortunately it was underwhelming and lacked flavor, so I wouldn't order that again. Overall, it was worth the drive from Pasadena for the views, atmosphere, and standout savory dishes. I'd definitely return to try more items and soak in the experience again.

Nice stop on the way from LA to Ojai on hwy 27. They recommended to make reservations mon-thur and reservations are required fri-sat. Pistachio latte is good. The views are sweet and relaxing . Wafferesso is deliiiiicious. We also got the kofta tag one which looked very appealing because of what it's served in but the actual meatballs were a little too dry for my liking. I think it's supposed to be that way though? Pastrami sandwich was good but very heavy for me. Overall, good experience and friendly staff.

Beautiful nature getaway. There is nothing like this in the area. And the food is also solid. Mediterranean inspired brunch selections. We've been here twice in the past couple of weeks. Try to reserve a counter spot.

We had such a wonderful experience, and a huge part of that was thanks to Heidi, who was truly amazing from the moment we arrived. The convenience of valet parking made everything feel effortless, and she had us seated quickly for our reservation -- which we especially appreciated since we had our 60lb dog with us. What really stood out was how thoughtfully they seated us in a spot that comfortably accommodated our big dog. It made the entire visit smooth and enjoyable, and it's clear they are genuinely dog-friendly. They even brought our pup a pup cup, which was such a thoughtful and adorable touch. The space itself is very zen and relaxing -- calm, airy, and beautifully designed. And the location is absolutely iconic. The views of the mountains and surrounding natural scenery were breathtaking -- open, serene, and stunning in a way that feels untouched and peaceful. It truly elevates the entire experience. For drinks, we ordered a hot vanilla latte that was so yummy and comforting, and an iced vanilla latte that was incredibly refreshing. They roast their own beans, and you can taste the quality in every sip. The French toast was a 15/10 -- perfectly cooked with amazing flavor and seasoning. It was so tasty. The steak hash was also incredible and loaded with meat -- definitely come hungry because the portion is generous. Between Heidi's exceptional hospitality, the thoughtful pup cup, the incredible food and coffee, and the iconic mountain views, this was such a memorable experience. We can't wait to be back.

This place is cute with decorations. The view was so so because all I see are bushes but the decorations inside are just unique. Overall it is a very pricey place to dine. Valet paring is $10. But you should just park on the street for free. I ordered a beef stroganoff 5/5. The food was so taste. Beef was tender and soft. Creamy mushroom sauce was buttery. Service was alright. They forgot our cola bottle. Overall this is a must visit but I don't think the sane people would come here to eat often.

I have been here multiple times already, but was able to come with my kids for the Yelp event. They had not been previously. It was an excellent surprise for them, especially as my older kid is soon off to college. I'm trying to make every memory I can with him, in hopes he will want to come back to CA to visit. They were in awe of the gorgeous surrounding and quaint style of a treehouse type restaurant. At the end, we had to stop at the shop and each got a trinket. (I had never gone into the shop and so I was actually surprised at the eclectic items that they carried!) First off, I always suggest you opt to valet. It can be a pain to find parking. The valets are attentive and professional. Ok...On to the actual restaurant. I must admit, I normally go to a restaurant and order the same thing over and over. I am a creature of habit and am cautious to try anything new. Luckily, the previous times I came the people I went with forced me to try everything. It was always a great. On another trip the other guest ordered about seven things to taste a bit of everything. So in turn I tried a bit of all he had ordered. The only thing I was so-so on was the lobster roll, but I'm not a fan of lobster. He liked it a lot. But I digress. On to this visit, I stated I info above to preface the fact that I felt safe to order something new. I tried the veggie sandwich (sans onion) and it was great. The caramel latte hit the spot. My small one got the Daddy's special waffle. The waffle was fluffy and light, but it was a bit sweet with everything else that was added. But melted ice cream was a nice sauce for the waffle. The kid loved it. Her raspberry lavender lemonade was the best drink at the table. I would have had a million glasses of that and ultimately fell into a diabetic coma. The star of the show was the big kid's pastrami. He had never had pastrami before. He wants to try all the meats he can. It had an egg, jalapeños and some sauce. He got the potatoes on the side. Safe to say I wish I ordered the potatoes instead of my fries. His sandwich was so delicious I secretly wished I could switch half of mine for half of his, but he was so happy that I dare not ask. (He's a very good kid and would have quickly obliged). Anyway, that was the winner. Portions are ginormous and delicious. I was so worried during the palisades fire that this could possibly been affected, only because of all of the greenery around it, thank goodness it wasn't. I am so grateful for this event as it got me to drive there. It's about 45-60 min (depending on traffic of course) but soooo worth it. The only request I make is that you don't go when I go, as I don't want to wait to park, for a table etc. it's that busy. But go. Go right now. You won't regret it! Thank you for the hospitality of opening your place up for others to discover Peyman. We will be back!

This spot checks all the boxes. Excellent food, attentive service and gorgeous views. Our group ordered omelettes, salad, steak hash and the lobster roll for me . Everything was well presented, and everybody enjoyed their meals. The lobster roll was full of lobster and the bun was toasted to a nice crispness. The setting was absolutely gorgeous, nestled among the trees, like a true escape from the city. The cute boutiques near the entrance are a bonus. Parking was valet but there were lots of spaces at the side the road. For most of us, it was our first visit but won't be our last.

Such a beautiful spot for brunch! The view from the multiple patios are amazing and the interior is well decorated. Expect a wait, but there is a nice connected gift shop to explore. I really enjoyed the food as well. I'd recommend the matcha latte (and I'm a matcha snob) as well as the steak and eggs with chimichurri. Parking was easy enough to find on the side of the road, but if it gets really busy, they also have valet.

Ask the Community - Cafe on 27

According to the hours on yelp, it says they're only open on Sundays. Is that accurate information or are they open throughout the week?

They are actually closed now until March for renovations, so I would wait to see what the new hours are then. They are very active on their IG, and update that often

Is it open for business? Or were they victims of the fire?

They just re-opened a day or so ago! Please go visit-it is fabulous

Are they open on New Year's Day?

I am sorry, I don't know. You can check their IG @cafeonn27

    Is friendly kids?

I have never seen children here, only couples or multiple friends. Would be careful walking as water fountain leaks everywhere making floor slimey & slippery when going down ramp

Can we get a table on a Sunday with no reservations?

There is an app I believe on yelp called I believe open table something like that. I used it before not sure what day of week but they did have seats available for us when we arrived, Good Luck

Am I able to make a reservation thru Yelp?

Yes, you actually make your reservation through the restaurants website and they text you. That was my experience.

Does anyone else have hard time bookin reservations thru opentable even tho time slots were available?

Don't worry, we came on a Sunday morning with no reservation and we got a table within 10mins. It's bigger than you think with multiple decks.

    Do they serve wine here?

They don't serve any alcohol, unfortunately, just health-conscious non-alcoholic drinks.

    Are dogs allowed?

Yes. They are dog friendly and there are ALWAYS dogs there!

    Is this kid friendly?

I don't see why not it's just a restaurant. I saw kids there that seemed happy.

Are they open when it's raining?

    Yes. But way less seating.

Do they have parking, especially for handi cap?

Hi! They have a parking lot right there at the cafe with valets so im sure you can park right near front for handicap access. 👍🏻

Can I take my dog , being it is a patio seating?

    Yes.

Hi, do you take reservations? Thank you, I found their reservation tab on their website.

Yes they do. Recommend to have a reservation

Do you guys take Apple Pay?

    Yes

Can you just grab coffee and a pastry to go?

    Don't know- i'm sure

Do they take walk in on weekend like Saturday?

    Yes

Can you accommodate treenut allergies (pistachios, cashews, walnuts, pecans)?

    Are you dog friendly?

    Yes

Second, while the food prices are on the high side, I noticed a charge for use of a credit card. While this is not a big expense, it is extremely annoying and I resent being nickled and dimed.
