    Butter cake

If you want to escape and pretend you're in beautiful Italy, this is just the place! The ambiance is so romantic with all the lights, especially in the evening. Chantel was our server and she made everything exceptional. Her knowledge on what to get and pairing certain items and drinks were really impressive. Everything on the menu was tasty, you can't have a bad meal here. The pizzas amazing, pastas incredible to the short rib and dessert, everything is so fresh. The butter cake is my personal fav! Drinks are out of this world too! We'll be back! 10/10 experience and service.

Went to Nonna's with a reservation at 6 and the place was already busy, which is always a good sign. There was a lot of parking available in the lot, which made it convenient. What stood out the most was definitely the interior design and atmosphere, along with the service. The interior had a really cozy vibe and the staff were very kind, attentive, and on top of everything. I ordered the ricotta e spinaci and Nonna's cake. The pasta had really good flavor and texture, but the portion was small in my opinion. The Nonna's cake wasn't bad either, just a little more on the dry side, but the ice cream that came with it helped balance it out. Overall, it's a cute place and would be nice for a date night.

Beautiful entrance. The ambiance here is romantic- dim lighting, rustic, live music. The food was good, not exactly 5 out of 5 delicious Italian food but the ambiance makes up for it. The food alone is a 4 out of 5. Plenty of parking. Patio seating available.

We visited Nona's this week for live music, dinner, and drinks, and it was an incredible experience from start to finish. As far as Italian restaurants go, Nona's is easily one of the absolute best. The bar area is stunning--beautifully designed, lively, and a total vibe. Pair that with live music, and the atmosphere is unmatched. It's the kind of place that makes you want to stay a little longer, enjoying great company with amazing food and drinks. The menu and cocktails are excellent, and everything we tried was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. The staff was attentive and professional, which only added to the overall enjoyment of the night. Whether you're planning a fun night out with friends or family, a business meeting in an upscale yet relaxed setting, or a special date night, Nona's is the place to be. You will not regret it. Highly recommend!

Still love Nonna's so much! The best Italian food around, yummy cocktails and wonderful service! The bartenders are excellent, and the servers are outstanding. We love Kelly, she is the best! And we love the ambiance here too, it's the perfect date night or family dinner or night out for the girls. If you haven't been to Nonna's, what are you waiting for?!

We enjoyed Valentine's Day dinner last week. The service was excellent as was the music! We started with the tuna tartare and salad. My wife loved her Chilean Sea Bass with fried asparagus while I had the bone-in short ribs over polenta. Dessert was beignets and Mexican cake. Of course, they presented Janet with a beautiful rose in the way out, making it a perfect evening!

Date night dinner, happy new year!

(+) Nice menu which makes it difficult to choose (a good problem to have). Looking forward to come back again. We sat in the outdoor area but it had heaters and transparent curtain walls so it was comfortable and decor was upscale yet comfortable. (+) Bread was warm and soft, and the tapenade so good. Challenging not to fill up on that to start. Highlight of the appetizers was the mushroom soup special. (+) Recommend the Genevieve cocktail. Had to order 2. You can barely taste the cognac and that's not a bad thing because the passion fruit & coconut foam with lime zest tasted amazing. (+) It was easy to get a same day reservation for Saturday night. There were several hostesses at front of house and I think live music was setting up around the time we left. (+) Service was excellent as they are well staffed and well trained. Our waiter was helpful with suggestions and not too cringe. Bussers were attentive too.

Came in with a 6pm reservation as a party of 2 and was seated immediately on their patio. We had to come back since their pizza oven wasn't working last time we were here. Steph was our server and she was great about suggesting their specials and checking up on us. Everything was so delicious. We had the Nonna Spritz, Loredana, Genevieve, and Espresso Martini. I had the Cacio E Pepe and my boyfriend had the Diavola pizza. Their parmesan cheese is so so delicious, and the sauce on their pizza was also amazing. My only complaint is the crust on the Diavola wasn't super strong and it was difficult to pick up and eat. I absolutely love the pasta here, and really want to try the Carbonara but every time I come I can't sway from the Cacio E Pepe.

Nonna is one of our favorite date night places. The atmosphere is lovely and quiet. We started with cocktails, which I highly recommend. Their bartender is fantastic. We got the Old Fashioned and The Genevieve. Both delicious. The Genevieve is very rich, so keep that in mind (very sweet). For an appetizer, we got the zucchini blossoms. We dip them in the tapenade that comes with the bread (delish). They are pricey and is a small serving for the price, but they are tasty. For our entrees, we got one of their pasta dishes, which my husband said was one of his favorite pasta dishes he's had in a while. The only thing keeping this from 5 stars is the Branzino. Unfortunately, it did not taste fresh and was not well seasoned. Definitely would not order again. My usual is their salmon, which I've always enjoyed. Overall, this is a solid date-night spot with excellent cocktails and tasty pasta.

Impeccable service, but mid Italian food, especially for the price. The standouts were the fritto misto calamari and the prosciutto on the pizza. The calamari has the right balance of tender seafood with a crunchy batter exterior. The prosciutto is thin and nicely tender. Everything else, I thought was just okay. First, the crust on complimentary bread was too hard that it was painful to eat. We also got the octopus in addition to the calamari for appetizer, and thought the octopus was overcooked and the portion to be small. For our pastas, we got carbonara, cacio e pepe and vongole. First, the pasta portions run kind of small for the price. Flavor wise, the vongole tasted the best. The carbonara was a little too salty and dry, and the guanciale pieces were fried way too crispy that it was all dried up. I tried a bit of the cacio e pepe as well, but wasn't that impressed. We got the Crema Mascarpone Crema de Nutella because we saw someone else across the room get this and thought it looked interesting, plus I love Nutella. It looks very fancy, but the ingredients were very basic for what it was. Just mascarpone and Nutella presented to look much more fancy than it already is. Compared to other Italian restaurants in the area, I'd pick Basta over Nonna any day. Their portions are larger for about the same price, and the cooking stood out more (like their octopus).

Nonna was highly recommended by a client, so we decided to make reservations for dinner. I was easily able to secure a table via OpenTable a day in advance, and since it was a nice day outside, we were seated in the covered parklet. Despite being tucked away behind a med spa in a quiet strip mall, we were greeted by a lively atmosphere - and live music - upon passing through the front door. Ravenous after a long day at work, we ordered the grilled octopus and fried zucchini blossoms to share, and our server brought out a basket of fresh bread and tapenade for dipping. The octopus was the showstopper, and the accompaniments (pickled onion, baby potatoes, aioli, and sweet orange) complemented the saltiness of the octopus. While I was tempted to order the truffle special on the menu (they have a full menu dedicated to truffle season), I had been craving classic bolognese. The pasta was served al dente and loaded with meaty bolognese sauce. The sauce to pasta ratio was a bit high, but I solved this predicament by scooping up the leftover sauce with the bread at our table. For dessert, we shared the tiramisu, which was served in a cute little jar. We left very full and satisfied after our meal.

I've been to them before so I was excited to go back again. My previous experience was probably a 4 or 5 star. We ordered the Carbonara,Carpaccio and the Short Rib. The Short Rib was DELICIOUS. Our waitress recommended to us and said their entire staff loves it/is their favorite. It tasted exactly how they described and is probably one of my favorite dishes on the menu. However, the Carbonara was not good. It tasted like the Trader Joe's frozen Pasta. Which is good when you go to Trader Joe's, but I expected better from a high quality restaurant. It didn't taste like a Carbonara either. Last time I was here I got their Truffle Pasta and it was one of the best I've had, which is why I was so excited for the Carbonara. The Carpaccio is also very good and would order that again. Our server was amazing, very attentive, I wish we got her name. She made the experience better.

Great atmosphere and nice staff. The carbonara was a no for me. Just ain't it. The short rib was delicious though. Love the bread at the beginning. Really good but the carbonara really was bugging me.

The vibe is industrial and low-lit, like the kind of bar where the walls have stories but won't snitch. Small space, metal-and-concrete aesthetic, but somehow still warm and cozy. At the time the dining room was sparsely populated, only a few other tables were seated. We were seated quickly by the hostess and ordered within a few minutes of sitting down; my wife ordered the seafood pasta I ordered the butternut squash ravioli and the tomato burrata salad as an appetizer. After about 20 minutes the waitress returned to let us know that they were out of the pasta, so my wife asked for the risotto instead. The salad arrived quickly, however my wife noted that it was missing grilled peaches that were listed in the menu description, a disappointment. The salad itself was balsamic dressed cherry tomatoes with a single piece of burrata on top. Another 40 minutes later our entrees finally arrived. Much to my dismay my dish lacked any appreciable character; it was as if they had cooked six month old frozen pasta and thrown up a brown sauce with fried sage on top. My wife's risotto was mostly cheese but was also similarly devoid of other flavors. Now to be fair to the folks here, I did mention to the waitstaff that the flavors in the food were off and they did reduce the bill. They were also apologetic about the wait we faced. Nevertheless, restaurants have three things they need to do well in order to be successful: food, service and ambience. Perhaps if they improved the quality of the food and the time to service more people would come. Needless to say, but I won't be returning.

I'd been wanting to go back and take Dear Hubby to enjoy this very special re-imagining of the previous space, which had been an Irish pub incarnation. When our sister-in-law and two nieces were in town, the five of us were able to spend a quick evening together at Selvin's. We had been working on a project at our house, and by the time we got finished and ready to go out there wasn't a lot of time left as we went on a weeknight and they close at 9:00. I'm surprised that having a full bar, and being attached to a hotel property, that they would hang it up so early - even 9:30 or 10:00 would make more sense. It's such a charming place; seems a shame to have to call it a night so early. The ambiance is absolutely divine, especially out here in suburbia. It's very innovative in its layout. The lighting was carefully planned and is very effective in creating a special mood. And, what can be said about the wall of roses? It's tailor-made for snapping fun photos, that's for sure. The chef is sending out creative and Dee-Licious dishes from the kitchen. Yes, I know how to spell delicious, but it is worth adding the accented flair to stating the fact that this is a cut above many other dining establishments in the Conejo Valley. Dear Hubby and I shared Pappardelle Pasta and a Tuna Tartare appetizer. Both were excellent. One of our nieces ordered the taco platter. Wait till you see the photo. The only thing that was disappointing, menu-wise, was that bread wasn't included, so we ordered some as a side. Two little slices. I've forgotten the price, but I recall that it turned into sticker shock when we saw what was served. I'm tickled that they offer a nice array of zero proof cocktail options. They aren't inexpensive - apparently spirits without alcohol aren't any less (or maybe only slightly less?) than the full-spirited options. Still, it's nice to have the option. Our out of town family members LOVED Selvin's; it was a big hit with all of us. As an added bonus, there was a guitarist playing beautiful acoustic music when we arrived and were seated in the lounge area. Major extra credit!

I was wrong. Cork Dork IS a wine bar but the food is absolutely not an after thought. There's a great amount of care and passion behind the dishes (my guest and I got the tasting menu), as was evident in talking with Danny the head chef. A spectrum of vivid flavors. Friendly and attentive staff.

Stars across the board! What an amazing evening here at Cork Dork. What a gem tucked in and away…read morefrom all the hustle and bustle. First time in for dinner and was pleasantly greeted at the hostess stand, whom let us in early for our reservation. You enter the restaurant to what seems like a cozy little dining room but then surprised with this added enchanting area. Which I might add, comes with a cool hidden library for private events. After getting comfortable and enjoying our experience perusing the menus via tablet, we were pleasantly welcomed by...Rosie. By far, top five best experiences at a restaurant, all thanks to her. She took us all throughout the menu, made amazing recommendations, and took our evening and completely escalated our night. From the wine, to the amazing plates, to the delicious desserts, all was absolutely top tier. My favorite by far, was the wild mushroom risotto which was out of this world. If I can't compliment the food enough, Rosie was just amazing. I mentioned to her before we left, "it's as if you took us up on a hot air balloon ride with and ever so gently brought us back down to earth." That's what our evening was like in best terms. Thank you again to the staff and owners at Cork Dork. Most of all, thank you again to Rosie. We will definitely be back for another amazing visit.
