Saw Tpumps come up and I decided to go here since it had a wide variety of choices. I was a little worried because I get overwhelmed when there are too many choices and don't know what to pick. But luckily there is a menu with a preset of popular choices. Whats even more awesome is...they sample PLENTY of premixed flavors! While we were in line there was a jug of Plum Blackberry Green Tea out and we tried it. It was so GOOOOD! That's what my friend ended up ordering... While standing in line one of the nice employees brought out a sample of Hot Lavender Honey Green Milk Tea and OMG it was amazing. The weather was perfect for a hot drink since it was raining...at this point I didn't know what to do with my life! Do I pick the Hot Lavender Honey or the Plum Blackberry?!?!?! So when I got to the front of the line to order, I said ahhhh what the heck, I'll order BOTH! Okay tea place. I tried this place after seeing the rave reviews. They do have lots of flavors that you can choose from, and you can choose up to 3 flavors with either green or black tea, or upgrade to a premium tea for $1 more. You can also choose milk or no milk and if you want milk, it is lactose free, if you want regular whole milk, then it is an upcharge. Also, you can add boba for an additional charge. You can also choose your level of sweetness, from normal to light and very sweet. Prices here are good, $4.50 for a large 32 ounce cup! A 24 ounce is $3.50. This is cheaper than most other boba tea places, even if you get the additional additions. They have daily special cups in the fridge for $2. They have self serve samples as well while you are in line. I ordered a mango, passion fruit, lychi milk green tea, light sweetness. It was really really sweet still!! Therefore, I could not finish it because it was tooooo sweet!! My boyfriend ordered a normal sweet tea and that was even sweeter. I cannot imagine how anyone can drink very sweet... People are too addicted to sugar! It also tastes too artificial. Parking is on the street, and paid parking. I am unsure if parking is free after a certain time, but there is a "mall" across the street with free parking. Not my cup of tea, literally. I live in a predominantly Asian neighborhood and have many choices for boba. And Pasadena doesn't seem to offer the same variety-- and quality. I prefer my milk teas to have a stronger tea flavor and this place did the exact opposite. You can't taste any tea! I do not know why there is such a long line here. Wow I know! I got to give them a try more than once. I actually thought that the normal sweetness level is way too sweet for me. The very light was actually ok. This is more like a mix n match flavor with tea typa place. They have a good variety of flavors and toppings that you can pair with their fresh brewed tea. Came here because all my hipster snapchat friends be posting their pics on tpumps on their stories. This place is located a block away from Lemonade on Lake street-- same side. Therefore, parking is rather inconvenient-- which is the only star down :(. Aside from the parking situation, everything else was fabulous. The service here is spectacular. The cashier was not hesitant to greet me upon arrival and offer me like 5 different samples. Although he was a bit emotionless, the cashier was able to explain the ordering process pretty well-- so kudos on that. Also, another worker was extremely sweet-- she said to love my drink before I left or she will fix it. Now ain't she just a darling?! The drink was pretty amaze balls. I ended up with a large of the raspberry almond vanilla milk tea, which was nothing less than heavenly. I really enjoyed the ability to customize a drink to your liking. Also, my drink was not only flavorful, but they were very generous with portions. The interior was pretty small. This post is long overdue but I finally have time and the pictures to write it! In July 2019, my husband and I catered Tpumps for our wedding and it was THE BEST experience. Alan, the catering coordinator answered all my questions and was thorough to explain everything via email and was very polite. I went in store for a tea sampling tasting and they took such good care of us! Specifically, Jenny was the manager in charge and she was super sweet and very helpful. They let us try all sorts of flavor combos and we were able to narrow it down to the teas we liked. All together, we got 7 tanks of tea with boba--more than enough for our 300 guests. The teas were made right on time, chilled. The boba was still warm and fresh in pressure cookers. It was all a very economical price too! Another boba spot hits Pasadena... PARKING: Street. It can be a bit tough with Magnolia House on the same block, but try your luck at the TJ Maxx structure across the street or the Ross lot. DRINKS: -Guava peach green tea: The flavor of the tea is super light, and I like that the fruit flavors blended well together. You get to choose up to 3 add ons in your drink, so it's basically your fault if you mess it up. Bonus points for offering chia seeds as an alternative to boba. Disclaimer, I was never a huge fan of Tpumps. We have a location up in NorCal, but I usually never go since the long wait times (45 min+) was not worth it for the quality of boba. I decided to give Tpumps another try, since it was the closest boba place to us in Pasadena. There was a line outside this location, but the workers are really efficient since they go out and take your order in advance, and give you a cup to give to the baristas inside. The best thing about Tpumps is its endless customization options - you can mix any 3 flavors with whatever toppings you want. I ended up settling with 2 flavors - lavender with honey + boba. They also have "set" flavors too, if the large variety of options start scaring you, so you could order off the menu too. I was really pleasantly surprised with my drink - it was really floral-tasting with sweet honey to wrap it all up! It wasn't too sweet or artificial-tasting at all (which was one of my concerns at the original location). Tpumps is definitely making a noise in Pasadena with its long lines and whatnot. Walking around with my drink after, people literally stopped me to ask, "What is this place?" There were probably 12 people in front of me when I went on a Friday evening. The line felt as if it moved relatively fast. I think sampling the drinks and flustering over what to customize (they had a lot of options) expedited the wait. A friendly worker brought out three different samples while I was in line. The first two were milk teas. I forgot what the first one was (strawberry something with a chalky flavor) and the second milk tea was mango marshmallow. They were really sweet! If I were to order milk tea, I'd get it less sweetened. The third sample was a blueberry lychee iced black tea, or something like that. It was refreshing and delicious! So I settled for getting an iced tea. I liked how they have their top 10 board and I chose the strawberry mango iced black tea with basil seeds. The basil seeds freaked me out a little because they were floating black, fuzzy things in my drink. BUT it tasted good! I've also tried the peach lychee with mango popping boba. The menu was very overwhelming at first because of all the flavors they offer (although it had very clear instructions). However, the staff took their time to explain the menu and offered suggestions. I decided on a green tea passion peach with honey boba. I asked for normal sweet (they customize how sweet you would like). The boba was perfectly chewy and definitely one of the best I have tasted. I went with a tpumps size (24oz) almond roca smoothie with honey boba, normal sweetness with black milk tea as suggested by the friendly cashier that helped me through my first time ordering. She was nice enough to answer all my questions and steered me the right way when I wasnt sure whether to order green tea or black milk tea to go with the lychee flavor I wanted. And another cool thing was when my drink was done and my name was called. There was extra lychee smoothie in the blender when they made mine so they sealed it in a small cup and gave that to me as well. They were all super cool. Aside from giving me extra, the guy that made my drink said to let him know if i wasnt satisfied with my order and they would make it again... I was like, excuse me?? Hahah.. Tpumps first opened their Pasadena store when I was in high school and I remember back then when it was crowded and poppin' and now fast forward 4-5 years that I haven't been back since my high school days, it's STILL crowded and poppin'. I came to Tpumps during my lunch hour and the line was still out the door which amazed me. I guess not much has changed since I last came here. Tpumps sells drinks that are affordable and worth the price that you pay. It's customizable to your liking and even though, it doesn't taste the best, it's still worth a trip here. I ordered my favorite, the Mango, Peach, Passion Fruit Green Tea, which is a tropical blend of fruity flavors and I ordered it with 50% sugar because their drinks are on the sweeter side. I'm not 100% sure but I don't think their prices have changed that much over the years. I ordered a large for $4.50 and I think their drinks come with a topping as well. I went for the basil seeds (because it's yummy and healthy). Their one downside is that it's located on Lake Ave. in Pasadena and that means harder parking. They only have street parking near the store so sometimes it might be more difficult to find parking. However, Tpumps is a must try place if you like a variety of drinks. read more

The staff was friendly, efficient, and if you don't like your creation, they make a new one for you. Oh, and they give samples of their creations while you're waiting in line. The drink itself was disappointing. The tea was not strong at all; you could barely taste it. The flavors that you pick are just syrups and the "milk" is just Coffeemate (powdered non-dairy creamer) which I thought was really gross. Oh, but the boba was really good, soft and chewy.
