Also, since it was a warm Friday evening, Tpumps was perfect! A tiny little bubble tea joint (and the only one) on Lake Avenue just 2-3 stores down from Magnolia House and before Nothing Bundt Cakes. The ordering process is simple: I decided to choose from one of their customized selections (on the left side of the wall. Sorry, I forgot to take a picture, but I'm sure other Yelpers have): 1. Pick Your Size: Iced Sizes: $3.50 (24oz) or $4.50 (32oz). 2. Choose Your Flavors: Limit up to 3 flavors. 3. Tea Flavor: Green, Black or Decaf. 4. Milk? Milk Tea version or no? 5. Sweetness: Light, Normal or Very Sweet. 6. Toppings: 1 Free Topping w/Drink (Honey Boba, Boba Bran, Red Bean or Taro). If you want additional Boba, poppin' boba or fruit toppings, those are additional charges (see my pic). I ended up selecting the $4.50 (32oz) Green Jolly Rancher with Honey Boba. This was one of their already made customized drinks, which I absolutely adored! It's Green Tea mixed with flavors of Apple, Lychee and Passionfruit, excellent! This contains no milk and really does taste like a green jolly rancher. I opted for normal amount of sweetness, which was fantastic! The honey boba was plentiful, soft and chewy. Best of all, this contained little ice and so the flavors really stood out, yes! Originally, I was going to get the poppin' bobas, but those are an additional $0.75 cents charge, nevermind, lol! Service: Quick and efficient. The line seems long, but it moves pretty quick (depending on the weather, it's up to you to decide how dedicated you really are to wanting to stand in line). The staff are friendly and helpful. They do have an electronic Rewards app (via Square). They'll sign you up on the spot and check in with your phone number each time to accumulate your points. Ambience and Decor: Tiny bubble tea joint that's a walk-in order, pick up and go place. There's no seating areas or restrooms here. At least it's nice, while you wait in line to order or pick up, they do have samples of their latest tea drink. I didn't sample any since they ran out while I was waiting in line or I had already gotten my drink and was ready to go when they had brought out a fresh new batch. Hopefully, I'll get to sample some next time. They also sell their Tpumps merchandise in there too (such as t-shirts, pins, etc). I don't know what the hype is but I'd get the freebie at the door and go. That was pomegranate that day I'm assuming possibly everyday. You can just get the ones on display if you just want whatever or you can order a special blend for yourself. It's not a place to hangout as the seating is non existent. The boba was scarce in my cup. I had to find one to slurp up and that was sad as my cup was freshly made and there was very few bobas in the cup to begin with. I live "out east" so I'm lucky that there's a Tpumps in Upland (which is the main one I go to). I've been to the one in Pasadena a few times, but this location always has a long line. It doesn't even matter if I'm here on a week day during the afternoon... there's always a line. If you go on GoogleEarth street view (travelling south on Lake Ave), you can even see a line!! (LOL) I kid you not. Note that there is no seating here. You pretty much get your drink and go. One time I came with my sister and we waited on the sidewalk for over 15 minutes. The line did not even move and because we had things to do, we just left. The other issue would be parking. Parking lots near by are either for another business or full. Although there's (paid) street parking, this Tpumps does not have any convenient dedicated parking nearby so they've posted a sign stating not to park in other business' parking lots. My sister ends up parking by Ross and we just walk over. Other than that, their teas are still amazing. They offer Non-caffeinated teas as well as lactose free milk. You can customize your drink or order from the "Our Customers' Favorites" menu. One of my faves is the Rose Vanilla Green Milk Tea or the Salted Caramel Black Milk Tea. Within our wait, we had 3 different samples, and all were good. Here, you can mix up to 3 flavors and create your own unique drink! The Coconut Salted Caramel Black Milk Tea is a favorite within my family, but I find it too sweet, so I decided to try my own mix. I'm a lychee-lover, so I ordered a Lychee Vanilla Black Milk Tea with boba. It was pretty darn solid. If you want to make your own with one of your favorite flavors, I recommend adding Vanilla as well to create a balance in your drink. The service here is fantastic! It was raining when I came today, so I asked about it when I ordered, and the cashier said she didn't know about it. I got the iced Passion Fruit Tangerine Guava Green Tea with honey boba, normal sweetness. The tangerine flavor was very prominent, but I could barely taste the guava. The honey boba was scarce (it barely covered the bottom of the cup), and tasted like plain boba. Overall, the drink was tropical, but not good enough for me to want to get it again. This place is so worth the drive from the SFV. Wanna know why? Not only is it one of the best tasting milk tea places but it's also a dollar cheaper than boba places in the Valley. We parked the car and walked up at 1:40P to read the sign they'd posted stating they would open at 2P due to the Rose Parade. They may have sprinkled a bit of crack in there because I've been craving another since about 5 minutes after finishing this one. I'm not one that's ever really been into the whole Boba thing, honestly I thought that was over years ago but the crowds still line up like mad for this joint and I can see why. I do however, have to inquire on the "sweet" level, I chose "light" but I'm not one for added sugar so I may need to find out if I can opt out of that all together. Bubble tea here is pretty cheap (3.5 for 24oz and 4.5 for 32oz), and they have an interesting menu--there could be more than 4 different flavors in one drink! On the wall there is the top 10 favorites list and it is easy to start from there. I like this concept of putting many flavors into the bubble tea. But I don't like the taste of my drink at all. I tried the top one on the list, rose vanilla green milk tea. I made it half-sugar, but it was sweet as hell, and I cannot taste any tea flavor, just sweetness maybe a little bit of rose.
