Irvine has so many boba shops in OC and they are new ones constantly popping up in the city and I recently checked out TP Tea and it did not disappoint! You order via kiosk when you walk in and they have pictures of all of the drinks they offer and they have plenty of options ranging from milk teas to fruit teas to specialty drinks like their tornado drinks. I was eyeing their matcha tornado and wanted to see how it compared to how Omomo does it and it was good! I got it with 80 percent sugar and they blend matcha with their crème brulee and it was a sweet treat. It was a little on the icy side so I'm docking a star but otherwise I enjoyed it. Service was friendly and they had my drink ready in less than five minutes. There's some seating available inside and it's well-lit. TP Tea is usually one of my favorite spots -- consistent drinks, good flavors, and a reliable go-to. But when it gets busy, it seems like small mistakes start to slip through. I ordered two of their new drinks (the Lychee Berry Smoothie with toppings and a Honey Jasmine Green Tea). After a long wait -- which I didn't mind -- my order came out, but they were so rushed that they gave me the wrong straws. All the straws were the thin ones, even though one of the drinks had toppings. I didn't notice until I got home, and by then it was too late to enjoy the drinks the way they're meant to be had. It's not something I'm angry about, but a little more attention to detail would really go a long way, especially during peak hours. The Taiwan Classic Milk Tea is it! That is if you like a standard milk tea with all the chewies. If you want it all (And who doesn't want it all?), may I recommend you go for the Taiwan Classic Milk Tea if you are craving milk tea. You don't need to add any toppings, it already comes with boba, grass jelly and QQ noodle (their own chewie noodle that is softer than boba, I love it). But if you are a little crazy like me, you can even add the egg pudding! This drink is fabulous with or without adding the egg pudding. Their Tie Guan Yin Milk Tea is also good if you like tie guan yin tea. I haven't tried any of their fruitier drinks yet. Their milk teas have a strong tea flavor so if you are big on tasting the tea and not just the sweetness or other flavoring you might add, TP Tea is a good spot. I went around 1:15 and there were a few people in line waiting to place their order on the kiosk, must have been the lunch rush. I ordered the strawberry matcha with light ice and 50% sugar. I loved that they actually put light ice! The sugar was fine for me. I just wish I tasted the matcha more. I got glimpse of the matcha here and there but not a lot. Overall it was good. I enjoyed their tieguanyin oolong as well as the strawberry matcha latte. Their current lychee series is also very delicious and refreshing. I was pleasantly surprised by the consistency of their cube boba as I have only tried their standard boba, lychee jelly, and QQ noodles before; the cube boba is a bit chewier than the standard boba consistency and is very fun to eat alongside the beverage itself. TP tea has a big menu and it's very customizable. I just had the mango iced tea with aiyu jelly at 30% sweetness and less ice. At first I thought it was a little too sweet, so definitely do not get it at 100% if you're not into super sweet drinks. I loved the aiyu lemon jelly in this drink. I do wish that they had used less ice, even though I ordered it with light ice, because I was left with a lot of ice when I finished my drink. It looked like a regular amount of ice so I wonder how much ice the norm is. That being said, I'm happy that they filled the cup up all the way. My husband said his passion mango smoothie was good. TP Tea is premium boba at not premium prices, and that in itself should be a selling point. I wish I went here more and I'm actively going to try to go here more, even if it's slightly out of the way of my usual trajectory and I tend to opt for one of the more available chains or places with wi-fi when I'm trying to get some work done. They do it amazingly whether it's the more simple milk tea with boba or their featured menu options, and you're really not going to be disappointed by either. The experience is very streamlined with the ordering kiosk, and though they don't have a public restroom or wi-fi, there are a couple of tables you can chill at for a bit so it's not purely a takeout place. Their Tie Guan Yin is always a classic as a base to work off of, but they have an expansive menu and do everything great. Their DNA comes from Chun Shui Tang, so you just know they're no-nonsense quality boba. More people should consider this one of the best places to get boba. I never knew there was a TP tea tucked away in a small plaza near diamond jamboree! I've always been hesitant to try it because I heard the one in seattle wasn't that great. I got the treasure taro milk tea with boba (50% sugar, no ice). It's not really taro milk tea, rather regular milk tea with taro paste. The taro taste wasn't super strong. Once you shake it you can also see it's more tea than taro-- I wish there was a bit more taro paste. But their tea is really good and fragrant so I didn't really mind. has to be one of my favorite sweet treat spots in irvine. in my opinion, it beats alottttt of the more hyped up irvine boba places in so many aspects (credentials: i went to uci). i usually get either the tie guan yin oolong milk tea or the thai milk tea with 50% sugar and grass jelly. the flavor is rich and isn't watered down at all if you request reduced sweetness. the taste + quality of the drinks are also consistent; i've never experienced occasions where it tastes drastically different even though i come here A LOT! sometimes their drinks do give me the jitters if i drink too fast but thats also just a personal issue since i'm really sensitive to caffeine. there isn't much seating but i don't really mind since i usually just grab my drink and go. since the store is small it can get quite packed at times but the drinks come out pretty quickly regardless. i always leave here satisfied! read more

The amount of boba pearls they give is beyond generous! I got the Brown Sugar Boba Fresh Milk Tea, which had some sort of foam and biscoff crumbs on top and brown sugar syrup at the bottom. Unfortunately the milk lacked any tea flavor and rather just tasted like milk and brown sugar. The drink didn't taste that much like milk however, it kind of tastes like the milk, if any, was mixed with water since it tastes a little watery.
