$70.... For this

Seems pricy for $70 small party mix tray nothing special. I was shocked, you can get something way better for the same price

My favourite take out sushi spot! There's no seating and it's sometimes hard to get a spot for pick up, as their slots fill up quick. You usually have to order your platters a couple of days - a week in advance, but lately I've been getting lucky and getting their platters just a few hours before. Make sure to call in early to get your orders in. Their fish are very fresh and have premium options for you to choose from. I usually like to get their large premium mix (103pcs), and it comes with a lot of premium fish of sashimi, sushi and maki. It has ikura sushi, negitoro sushi, uni, o-toro sashimi, hamachi and much more. A great platter for sharing and to splurge once in a while if you're celebrating something. The variety is great! Although, I find that the o-toro sashimi is a little too fatty for my liking. A whole film of oil will coat your mouth from just eating this one piece alone. Highly recommend everyone checking this spot out.

The good: May I say this is one of the best takeout sushi places?! Once I ordered sushi here, I've been hooked. The fish is always so fresh and they provide high quality premium sushi (they throw in some good uni!) it's not all the time, but they say that they have included a free upgrade when you see the sticker on the tray. Tip: To order, you need to order a couple days in advance as it can get quite busy! I've tried ordering the day of and it's always sold out.

I usually order kaisendon from this place so this is my first time ordering a party tray. It turns out pretty good and they give you some pretty good quality pieces. Make sure to preorder ahead as they may run out on some fish especially during the holidays.

Chirashi Don

Heard great things about this place, so I decided to buy a chirashi don for dinner! I called ahead and ordered. The service was great, the fish was great, the rice was great, the only thing was... The lady forgot to give me soy sauce in the bag she packed for my takeout :( So everything was kind of just bland and dry when I ate it. I'll give it another go for sure, but will make sure I have soy sauce before leaving... On another note - their tako wasabi was really great! Tip: Beware of parking here - it's on the second floor above T&T supermarket so the parking is absolutely terrible. Some people don't really know how to navigate their vehicle in tight spots and turns...

I Heard good thing about the quality of the sushi here but haven't got a chance to try until now! It's tucked away inside of Langham Square and I believe you usually have to pre order it. This is a takeout spot so there is no dine in. The quality was definitely good! And it is definitely very fresh as well. It's overall a good experience!

Their fish selection is good quality! Even their tuna is really soft and fresh! Call in advance to order since they get quite busy!

MY ABSOLUTE FAVOURITE SUSHI TAKE-OUT PLACE!!! It's a small cozy family-operated unit at Langham Square. Their ingredients are imported straight from Japan to provide the best quality to their customers, therefore they operate based on the import schedule (I tried to order on boxing day but they said the supplier from Japan was closed for the holiday). HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ORDER IN ADVANCE, especially for special occasions, those you should at least 3 weeks in advance as ingredients were provided in a first come first serve base. We recently ordered a M-size mixed platter, and some sashimi (blue fin tuna, squid, hamachi) on the side. I placed the order 2 weeks in advance, thinking it should be enough time. However, they ran out on the blue fin tuna by the time I went to pick up my platter :( so they gave me extra pieces on the other sashimi as well as a refund on the tuna. Did I mention that they were super accommodating? They were able to modify my platter with my special requests (no cucumber and salmon belly pieces). The sashimi tasted fresh, the toro actually melted in my mouth, the squids and scallops were sweet. The big headed prawn's head tasted fishy but the meat was sweet sooooo I mean... not complaining. Even the maki rolls and sushi, they all have a very pleasant taste, never tasted stale or as if they had been sitting there for ages. The price definitely reflected on the quality that you will be getting. Yes, it was an itty bit pricey to some take-out places but trust me, the quality is there.

Craving for some quality sushi and sashimi after a long work week!!!! Suddenly I recalled how much I enjoyed the mouth watering and high quality sushi / sashimi platter i had from @toyosu_markham approximately 2 years ago. I ordered via phone for pickup to avoid long wait and possibly disappointment in case they run out of the goodies. We have ordered the following: Small mix (40pieces -- mix of sashimi, sushi and maki): $42 Bbq scallop press sushi (6 pieces): $16 We enjoyed everything we ordered. The sashimi was very fresh and yummy! We also loved the bbq scallop pressed sushi as it was topped with ample of scallops for every bite. Whats your fav pressed sushi topping? 8339 Kennedy Road, Unit 2660, Markham (2nd floor of Langham Square) 647-330-3301 cash or e-transfer Follow me @eatntravelrepeat on IG for more food adventures!!

Ok platter, not really good quality though. Not enough rice under the nigiri sushi; you can even see that some of the ends of the rolls have seaweed visible (not enough rice again). I felt like the fish didn't taste that fresh. The tuna (pink, not sure what fish it is) roll also has less fish on it as you go further right... each piece is cut smaller than the one to its left. To be honest I'm disappointed by this - previous experiences were good. Wouldn't get this again.

Mini Uni Bowl, Salmon Ikura Bowl, Spicy Salmon Sushi, Uni Tray

Whether you're having major sashimi cravings or just looking for an easy take out to enjoy anywhere, the Donburis from Toyosu are where it's at! Salmon and Ikura Donburi: This Japanese donburi is light and super tasty. It's a bowl of steamed rice, topped with fresh sashimi-grade salmon and ikura. Ikura aka salmon roe, is a premium ingredient used in Japanese cuisine, marinated in shoyu. They are large, round and delicate orbs that burst with a satisfying pop, sending a rich, savoury and smooth flavour as you bite down on it. The robust flavor of fresh thick salmon and rich saltiness of ikura roe, when enjoyed with the tender sweet rice, is a heavenly indulgence. I would definitely be ordering this again in the near future. Fun fact: "Ikura" -- comes from the Russian word for caviar. Mini Uni Bowl: Smaller bowl than the previous one but it is creaminess-overload with the soft buttery fresh uni on a fresh sushi rice. If you never had uni before, a Uni Don is one of the better dishes to introduce yourself to the golden, creamy ingredient; the rice gives a good base and balance to help you get acquired to the taste. It's so simple yet so fancy. Uni Tray (BC): Five pieces, (about 120g) for $30. Each piece of uni make for a perfect melt-in-your-mouth bite with a sweet, mellow tang. All in all, it was a sensory experience and with the quality and number of ingredients that you're served, it is worth the money you're paying. If you're not a salmon fan, Toyosu has a lot of other options available as well like uni, ebi, toro, unagi, scallops etc... Their menu also features appetitizers, maki/dragon rolls, sushi, torched sushi, and party platters. I've also tried their spicy salmon sushi which was okay but not impressive- note: most spicy salmon sushi is pure spicy salmon so I was surprised that cucumbers are included inside the roll. Toyosu is located in the Kennedy/Highway 7 Langham Square Plaza on the second floor above TNT. It is a small shop and they highly recommend placing your order in advance (1-2 days) to secure it. Hours are shortened due to COVID; currently only open from Thursday- Sunday. They also close early if fishes run out. Check out their website for their menus :)

Tastes fresh and melt-in-your-mouth. In my opinion, one of the best sushi/sashimi places around. It's a small unit on the top floor of Unionville's Langham Square. No dine-in. Takeout only. Order via phone in advance. I think they only accept cash - not sure - but ensure to bring cash if you're interested in this place. Very courteous service. Food is usually ready when you set a time for pick-up. We reside in Stouffville where there's at least two or three locations for sushi. But we'd rather go into Markham for sushi that tastes as fresh as it's like sushi from the real Toyosu in Tokyo.

Custom order: salmon belly, hamachi, chu-toro, scallops
Natalie C.

After reading consistently good reviews, we decided to splurge. We custom ordered half a pound of salmon belly, half a pound of hamachi, half a pound of Hokkaido scallops and 100g of chu-toro (medium fatty tuna). We ordered a day in advance and received a 5% discount. The hamachi was my favourite! It was rich and somewhat buttery. It was well cut, not too thick and not too thin. The scallops had a sweet taste and had a mildly "sticky" texture similar to the ones I have in Asia. The salmon belly had 2 different cuts. I personally like the cut adjacent to the wasabi and ginger in the photo. It was more fatty, smoother and had more of a texture to it. The chu-toro was my least favourite. Although it was reasonably fatty, the cut had significant amount of sinew. Overall, I was happy with the quality for the price we paid and will definitely come again!

The establishment has a casual dine-in setup, offering a relaxed atmosphere suitable for a quick meal or a short break during the day. Despite being a dine-in restaurant, all food is served in takeout boxes, which, while convenient for those on the go, slightly diminishes the overall dining experience for those choosing to eat on the premises. The food quality itself was acceptable. Reasonably portioned, adequately seasoned, and prepared in a timely manner. While it may not stand out as exceptional, it fulfills the expectations for a casual meal. However, the main issue that significantly impacted my experience was the cleanliness of the tables. The first table I sat at had a noticeably sticky surface, which immediately raised concerns about hygiene and maintenance. Assuming it was an isolated case, I moved to a second table, only to encounter the same problem. A third attempt produced similar results, suggesting that this is not an isolated incident but rather a recurring issue throughout the dining area. A sticky table surface not only detracts from comfort but also gives the impression that cleaning practices are not being properly observed between guests. This, unfortunately, overshadowed what could have been a satisfactory meal. In summary, while the restaurant offers decent food at a fair value, the overall dining environment requires improvement, particularly in the table cleanliness and food presentation. Until this concern is addressed, I would recommend opting for takeout instead of dining in, as the food quality is adequate, but the in-house dining conditions fall short of acceptable standards.

The portions were actually quite generous for omakase, which was a nice surprise. There was a good variety throughout the course, from richer bites like uni and toro to lighter pieces that felt clean, delicate, and well balanced. I especially liked how fresh everything tasted, and a few of the pieces had that soft, melt-in-your-mouth texture that makes omakase feel special. The savory bites in between also kept the meal interesting and made it feel more complete rather than repetitive. The only small thing for me was the pace. The chef served everything a little too quickly, so it felt hard at times to slow down and fully enjoy each piece before the next one arrived. Still, the quality, portion size, and overall value made this a very worthwhile experience. If you are looking for an omakase in Toronto that feels satisfying without being overly expensive, Mizu Sushi Omakase is definitely a place I would keep in mind.

The restaurant is super quiet and they offer great quality of food with great service, and the price is expensive if you choose to order sukiyaki set (expect $80+ per person). You can choose between sushi sets at different price level or sukiyaki from the menu. This suits the need of our group given some people prefer sushi but some couldn't eat raw food. They also offer a couple of limited appetizer dishes such as tempuras and unagi don. If you booked the sukiyaki table and want to order sushi, you need to call them in advance to notify which sushi sets you want. We tried the sashimi and sushi courses at $55, which included miso soup, 5 pieces of sashimi, 8 pieces of sushi (squid, toros, salmon, scallop etc.), handroll and matcha or black sesame icecream at your choice. The sushi is smaller than average, suitable for small eaters. The course is totally worth the money. I love every piece of sashimi and my favourite sushi include the scallop and the squid. Everything was super fresh. The dessert was also having the perfect sweetness level for me. In addition, we also tried the sukiyaki for two ($110), which includes mushrooms, cabbages, great quality of Angus beef, yummy tofu and udon. Again, all the material was with great quality and super fresh. I especially liked the sweet sukiyaki soup, the tofu and the udon. We also ordered some shareable dishes including chawanmushi, unagi don and cod. Cod was cooked to perfect (soft and flavourful), and unagi don had quite decent portion. It would be better if the unagi could be softer from my personal opinion. Chawanmushi was mediocre. Overall, I strongly recommend this restaurant to fan of Japanese cuisine. It meets different people's needs by offering both cooked and raw food options, and the sushi set definitely has great value for money.
