Lunch combos here are priced and portioned nicely, easy enough to find something raw or cooked with your group. Restaurant has enough space for groups but fills up quickly during the lunch rush despite covid-19! Sushi rolls and rice seemed typical nothing too unique, good enough flavour without too much sugar or salt added in. Fish was fresh tasting and good amount in each maki bite. Wasabi tasted not spicy enough, wondering if places are deceasing the heat levels or I'm immune to wasabi now! Definitely going to try them for the next sushi platter order. Lots of parking, clean restaurant and washroom, and just enough space to manoeuvre a stroller.

+.5 for service Your typical neighbourhood sushi joint in East Markham. Don't expect much in terms of top quality, but for the price/quantity point it's pretty acceptable. I came here for lunch with my grandma over the holidays and had the Mix Combo. The portions were very generous; it came with gyoza, salad, 6 pieces of sushi, sashimi, and 6 rolls. Again, given the price point and the generous portions, my standards weren't too high here. It's good for what it is; cheap, fill you up food for those not up for deciding on fine dining. Service was great here, nothing much to complain about. An acceptable neighbourhood joint overall.

I actually find these guys really good value. I ordered over the phone - a 60 piece tray for $45.20 including tax. Mix of sashimi, sushi and rolls. It looked incredible. By the time I got there 15 mins after I i ordered, it was ready for pick up. They do tell you that it's cash only which is no big deal. We got home to find they packed ginger, wasabi and soy sauce separately and the fish was fresh. Would definitely do this again for those lazy nights. Parking is also super easy because they're located in a plaza.

1st time having Sushi and it was great! Tried a variety of different dishes and it was great. The other 5 people we went with also loved it. Service was fast and friendly and clean. Definitely will come back again and highly recommend it.

In my opinion a pretty good competitor to AiSushi across the street but with dine in option and hot foods on the menu. The space is clean but very average and nothing special. The chefs talk very loudly in Chinese which didn't bother us but I can see it being a problem with others since the space is small and pretty quiet, that's all you hear. The menu is sufficient and the fish quality is comparable to Ai's. Definitely a good value. I forgot to take a picture of the chirashidon, which was plated quite nicely

Very reasonably priced Japanese restaurant. Service was okay and sushi was also okay. Fish wasn't the highest quality but for the price you are paying it's good value. Menu is pretty large with a good variety of different dishes and they even have lunch specials as well.

nothing spectacular about my local sushi spot but at the same time nothing really bad to say about this place either. Been coming here periodically over the years between the old and new management. Still nothing has really changed for better or worse. Quality has stayed consistent but the price for platters are really good value VS many other places. so on one hand if you want supreme quality, this place isn't gonna blow you away, but if you don't want to spend too much for more, then this place is perfect. But I like this place enough to still keep coming back Ya know what I mean??

Welcome to the neighborhood Project Sushi! I am a fan of their sushi and sashimi tray. Fresh ingredient and affordable price. I had their Party Tray (40 pieces) twice and I am satisfied with the food quality so far. I used to place my order on the phone in advance to avoid wait time. Friendly customer service. Tray feature: The tray comes with a Yam Tempura Roll which it will make my stomach full for sure. It is a deep fried sushi with yam inside. Crispy outside and soft inside. I hope they are able to keep up the good work and I will definitely return for more delicious sushi.

Small restaurant by the Garden Basket plaza. At first I thought it was Project Fish, but is actually not the same( read the name too fast). I actually like it very much here. Great value, food quality is good. I will try the party tray over the holidays. I don't know why, but their rice is so good! I never really eat the rice.. but the rice here , it's so hot and perfectly cooked. Very comforting. Lovely customer service. I will come back .

Been to this location few times prior as it changed restaurants and ownership couple times. Plenty of parking as it is situated within a strip plaza. Menu selection is large and has many special rolls to choose from. We ordered ala carte to try out the special fish we like including Salmon Sashimi, Unagi Rolls, Scallop and Hamachi Sushi. Sushi and rolls were good but sashimi was slightly frozen. For the price you are receiving good value for the food, huge menu and various combos and platters is a bonus. Will try other dishes next time.

Good value lunch sets! Small restaurant but was not crowded or busy. Lunches are around $11 and comes in a nice bento with gyōza, salad, and miso soup. Only thing I would like to see different is for them to add a torched lunch set. Would come back again for the value. Their platters look prerty good for the price too, very similar to AI Sushi.

Reason for Visit: Heard about this new sushi place that opened in Markham Rd/16th. Menu: First thing I noticed, is their menu is pretty well designed. Everything looks very legit so it was off to a good start. Their prices are also very reasonable, ~$15 -$20 a person for most things. I do note, that their take out menu prices are lower than their dine in menu, I am not sure if the selection is different. Their take out menu prices are essentially on par with Ai Sushi, but has to be cash only. Their tuna tataki was deliscious, maybe a bit extra on the spicy end but very enjoyable. Will definitely try their beef tataki next time. Their mix platter was also very deliscious. Pieces are smaller than other places, but the quality really does make up for it. Their medium platter is definitely perfect for 2 people. As other Yelpers mentioned, their 100 pieces for $60 I believe is perfect for 3-4 people . Service: It was 1 waitress serving entire restaurant of over 10 tables. She was very good and polite though, but she was definitely stressed out. Very impressed at how the waitress and chefs were so inviting. Atmosphere: This place is ran by Chinese people which explains the Chinese songs playing in the background. Lots of small tables, I think biggest table was 6 people. This place is packed too and busy. Definitely call ahead if you want to come in with a bigger group. Overall: I think this is a great option for something a bit fancier than take out sushi and affordable. Definitely will revisit just for the high end quality for a good valued price.

Came in during a weeknight. Not too busy at first but do see quite a few take out. Then tables slowly filled up around 7pm. Ordered their deluxe chirashidon which is not bad; they give you 2 pcs of the regular sashimi, 1 pc for botan shrimp, fatty salmon, hamachi. We have our uni substituted to scallops so I'm not sure how many you get for uni but 3pcs scallops, which I think it just 1pc uncut. We also have shrimp tempura and their project roll. Overall, the food is not bad for what you paid for. Service was excellent, although they have only 1 guy on floor doing all the serving and taking orders, etc, but he's still very attentive.

Takeout Mixed 60pc platter - really good portions, filling, loved the size of the sashimi and the scallop sashimi

The establishment has a casual dine-in setup, offering a relaxed atmosphere suitable for a quick meal or a short break during the day. Despite being a dine-in restaurant, all food is served in takeout boxes, which, while convenient for those on the go, slightly diminishes the overall dining experience for those choosing to eat on the premises. The food quality itself was acceptable. Reasonably portioned, adequately seasoned, and prepared in a timely manner. While it may not stand out as exceptional, it fulfills the expectations for a casual meal. However, the main issue that significantly impacted my experience was the cleanliness of the tables. The first table I sat at had a noticeably sticky surface, which immediately raised concerns about hygiene and maintenance. Assuming it was an isolated case, I moved to a second table, only to encounter the same problem. A third attempt produced similar results, suggesting that this is not an isolated incident but rather a recurring issue throughout the dining area. A sticky table surface not only detracts from comfort but also gives the impression that cleaning practices are not being properly observed between guests. This, unfortunately, overshadowed what could have been a satisfactory meal. In summary, while the restaurant offers decent food at a fair value, the overall dining environment requires improvement, particularly in the table cleanliness and food presentation. Until this concern is addressed, I would recommend opting for takeout instead of dining in, as the food quality is adequate, but the in-house dining conditions fall short of acceptable standards.

The restaurant is super quiet and they offer great quality of food with great service, and the price is expensive if you choose to order sukiyaki set (expect $80+ per person). You can choose between sushi sets at different price level or sukiyaki from the menu. This suits the need of our group given some people prefer sushi but some couldn't eat raw food. They also offer a couple of limited appetizer dishes such as tempuras and unagi don. If you booked the sukiyaki table and want to order sushi, you need to call them in advance to notify which sushi sets you want. We tried the sashimi and sushi courses at $55, which included miso soup, 5 pieces of sashimi, 8 pieces of sushi (squid, toros, salmon, scallop etc.), handroll and matcha or black sesame icecream at your choice. The sushi is smaller than average, suitable for small eaters. The course is totally worth the money. I love every piece of sashimi and my favourite sushi include the scallop and the squid. Everything was super fresh. The dessert was also having the perfect sweetness level for me. In addition, we also tried the sukiyaki for two ($110), which includes mushrooms, cabbages, great quality of Angus beef, yummy tofu and udon. Again, all the material was with great quality and super fresh. I especially liked the sweet sukiyaki soup, the tofu and the udon. We also ordered some shareable dishes including chawanmushi, unagi don and cod. Cod was cooked to perfect (soft and flavourful), and unagi don had quite decent portion. It would be better if the unagi could be softer from my personal opinion. Chawanmushi was mediocre. Overall, I strongly recommend this restaurant to fan of Japanese cuisine. The eight pieces of nigiri featured a somewhat typical selection of fish (and hotate/scallop), but slightly edgy and unique in the choice of seasoning and flavours, prepared by Chef Takinami with all the pomp and ceremony and you would expect from fine omakase. The pacing was excellent, we never felt rushed from piece to piece; the wait staff were attentive as would be expected from a high-end Japanese restaurant, on par with omakases that cost three times as much. Overall, incredible value on the meal, for both the food and experience.
