The rude MF that took my order was so angered that i ordered an omelette he would not look me in the eye. Then i asked for avocado on side and he shook his head and walked away and i heard him say something to one of the other workers about the avocado, i told him to forget it, it was obviously too much for him to handle, no wonder hes a middle aged man working at a bagel store. But customer service is YOUR JOB and i understand people have bad days but if customer service is YOUR JOB, then you have to fake it and not be rude. We have been a steady customers of Town Bagel since 1986 when I needed bagels for my son's bar mitzvah. My family is in Louisville, Chicago and Florida. Before every trip, my kids, who grew up on TB, give me a list of what to bring. Now grandkids make their personal selections. Our suitcases have become less clothes, more bagels . Hard to believe it's 33 years, but a lot of hard work goes into Steve Cohens operation. They are open early 7 days a week & have friendly & concerned employees. Stopped by here for breakfast. Such a pleasant experience when it's not crowded. Had really good customer service the older gentleman who took my order was very nice. My previous review would have definitely gone up because of that! One of the best bagels on LI. Probably second only to Bagel Boss in the area. Great selection of bagels and spreads. Pretty much any bagel/flagel you could want is here. The bagels are crunchy on the outside and have the right amount of dough in the middle. Also, they are not kosher. You know what that means. Cheese, meats and most importantly...BACON. You can't beat the bacon, egg and cheese on a poppy bagel here. It should be listed in a special hangover remedy list somewhere. The salads (tuna, chicken, egg) stand out at Town Bagel as well. The lines can be daunting during lunch hours and sat/sun mornings so be careful to choose the right times to go. read more

A very good bagel place. I prefer Bagel Boss and Gold & Meyer's is slightly (only slightly) better, but Town Bagel makes a great bagel. I usually go with a white fish salad on an egg everything bagel with a potato salad as my side. One of better white fish salads around. They also have really good coffee. Went there for the first time today. The place was packed for a Friday lunch. They have a fresh chopped salad bar where you can select your ingredients + a bagel for $6.75. Extras for chicken/tuna. Didn't get a salad but they looked great. Ended up getting a spinach chicken wrap and it was excellent. My dining mates got bagels and were quite pleased. The line can be a bit daunting but it moves. What closed the deal for me was when my daughter spilled her cup of milk. I went to the counter to tell someone and the lady who I told responded with a smile and "That happens with kids all the time." and came over and helped us out. And even offered us a replacement. UNHEARD OF. Most of the places around here act like you're doing them a favor giving them your money. Last night I went for the first time in years. By far the one of the best chopped salads I have ever had. Just as good as I remembered. They have a sheet and you just check off every Ingredient that you want chopped in your salad. The lettuce and vegetables were chopped so fine that I barely used any dressing. Consistency at lunch time is key for me to stay fit and keep on my diet track so Town Bagel is right up my local business alley! My usual is a chopped salad that I fax over almost 3 times a week. I love this salad so much that I crave it after hours and that's not the norm for someone who thinks of salad usually as "eh". At times my whole office has ordered from these guys at once faxing over about 10 orders and most of the time, they get it right. Orders are usually ready for pickup about 20 min later and you dont have to wait in the long line either! And for the price, chopped salad which can easily serve two plus a bagel for $10? Well ya got me there! Coupla things to keep in mind though. This place gets nuts about 12:15pm onward and the parking lot is way too small to accommodate all the other places in this strip center. So do yourself a favor if you don't wanna pull all your hair out looking for a parking space, and get there before 12:15. You can thank me later. read more

This place is awesome! It is the real deal for bagel lovers. They sell regular bagels and flats. Plus, add any kind of cream cheese flavor you want like strawberry or veggie. The whitefish salad was also great. I went on a Sunday and I was also able to get pancakes or waffles. The only area for improvement was the coffee. I'd like to see some darker roasts. When I originally looked at the 3 1/2 stars on Yelp I was shocked. Clearly those negative folks don't know a good bagel. Maybe they think supermarket bagels are the standard. Town Bagel has always been a staple in Nassau county and this location in particular is top notch. Came in for lunch with my family after church yesterday. Ordered 2 salads and a chicken panini with broccoli rabe and peppers ($38.00). Worst part was when I walked in I saw what I thought were 4 display panini's with wilted lettuce and old tomatoes. I picked up my food and passed the display to see 1 of the 4 original (display panini's was gone). No, they couldn't have removed the wilted lettuce and old tomatoes and redressed and serve me that old panini ?? For 38 dollars I would think that everything they served my family would be fresh! Fast forward 10 minutes. I've eaten half my panini which was a bit rubbery and below average at best. I take another bite and bite into a sharp 1/2 inch broken off toothpick which was completely buried in my sandwich and not visible at all. Confirmation that I was served a panini that was not fresh. The pre-made panini's all had toothpicks holding them together. Not only was the food not fresh but It was potentially a dangerous situation. Never again will I eat anything other than a bagel here. A few minutes later I get the attention of a young employee who is cleaning the exterior windows. I show him the toothpick that I took out of my mouth and explain how dangerous this could be. I tell him up front that I'm not looking for anything. I just don't want this to happen to anyone else. He apologizes and tells me that he will let management know what happened. Then he goes on to clean the inside windows. Now my family is finishing up their meals in an environment that smells like window cleaner. At this point, I just want to get out of this place! My guess is that management was never informed of my situation. Being in the food service industry for over a decade as a youth. I feel that the employees here could be trained a bit better and be a bit more courteous. Take a lesson from chick-filet and provide some service. Make your customers feel welcome, crack a smile, say thank you! To management, maybe you should have a suggestion box or something? read more

It's very frustrating when I place an order and I discover after I get the food back home that it is incorrect. This has been the case the last 2 times I've been to Town Bagel. How do you screw up 3 sandwiches when your job is to take someone's order and prepare the sandwiches? The orders weren't even complicated. They even marked it correct on the order slips. The prices are ridiculous, especially for food that is not what I ordered. They rush when they take your order and don't make sure everything is correct. Service is good. They move customers in and out well with a good system. Store is located in a very busy parking lot but I don't usually have a problem parking. I have two main complaints which have made me as of today realize i should look elsewhere to get my morning breakfast on. I come to this location fairly often because of the convenient location to my office. Generally i get either an breakfast sandwich or a bagel w cream cheese. Ive noticed on many occasions on the every thing bagels just something missing. I now realize, either they use o salt on everything bagels, or minimal to none. Last 3 times i purchased an everything bagel from the store, they do put plenty of seasonings on it, but there is no visible salt, and it is definitely recognized in the taste.....so not everything bagels! Today, was really the catalyst to make me review this location in plainview. Today i purchased 1 breakfast sandwich on a roll. I purchased egg whites on a roll, with swiss and spinach. With tax the sandwich was $8.93!! Say what? Since when does a egg white sandwich on a roll cost that much? Thats insane! That has to be the most expensive breakfast sandwich u can buy anywhere. Not even meat on the sandwich. You can literally get a sit down breakfast at a diner where u are served, with homefries and coffee for cheaper. Just insane!
