Just got breakfast from here for my friend and I the bagels are huge and so fresh One is an everything bagel With scallion cream cheese the other is 2 scrambled eggs with salt pepper & ketchup and a large coffee which taste amazing ! Highly recommend coming here if you have not been :) this honestly has to be one of the best bagels spots on Long Island I definitely will be coming back to try their sandwiches and salads looks really good read more

Just a bagel rating. There is no shortage of bagel places in Plainview. I have tried them all. Bagel Boss, Plainview Bagel and Gold & Meyer. I have found that Town Bagel offers the crunchiest and fresh bagels of the four. NOT too bready or heavy at all. Never got a hot or warm bagel at Bagel Boss. Don't get me wrong! We were in the area and asked a local where to get brunch. We were informed of this place and found it easily. The parking lot was a free for all and not fun on a Saturday at 11:30am. We knew right away by the amount of people going inside, that there would be a line. There were quite a few tables, which was nice to see in a bagel place. They were mostly full and there was someone walking around cleaning them off. One of us sat at the table while the others waited on the long line. Being on the line allowed us to look at the food in the cases and the menus on the walls. The bagels were all the way up front but I could see that they were being refilled with fresh bagels. All of the usual kinds and then some. The line moved quickly and when we got up to the front, we told the young man that it was our first visit and he was very patient and accommodating. We ordered- Egg whites with grilled chicken on a cinnamon raisin bagel. A rainbow bagel with a half pound of egg salad on the side and grabbed some fresh cut strawberries out of the refrigerator case. To stay. The bagel sandwich came with a fountain drink. (Iced coffee black). It was 90 degrees outside and we were comfortable inside. The egg white/chicken sandwich was good. The rainbow bagel was still warm and had a chewy outside texture with a soft inside. It was also good. The egg salad was not my favorite. It was sliced egg, not minced like I'm used to and had way too much cheap tasteless mayo. I had to add salt and pepper to try and save it. The strawberries were fresh and gobbled up. The coffee was awesome, strong flavor and not watered down at all. Someone came to the table to take the used tray and then he emptied the huge garbage pail. He was also kind. There was a sanitizing station which was appreciated. After 3pm every day,, you can get a free bakers dozen. We would go back again if in the area. (Sorry no pics, we were starving!) read more

A very successful local Bagel & Delicatessen that has been servicing the neighborhood for years. They are located in a small mall with limited paring. One can visit this local deli not only for bagels but also for baked goods, deli sandwiches & salads. Walked a mile to Town Bagel, and it was well worth it. Family owned, Alyssa was on the cash register, and she is the daughter of the owner. It was Sunday morning around 10:00 am, and the place was packed with people picking up or dining in. The bagels were classic east coast, something I don't get in California. This is a customer service post, not food review. It's as if these people are shocked that someone wants something else instead of a bagel. I went in there to order scrambled eggs with bacon on a tray, that's all. (I got the dirtiest look for not getting a bagel) Now, one would think that this would be equal to or less than the price of a bacon, egg, and cheese on a bagel which rings up at around $5, which also includes a small juice. WRONG. So instead of being charged the same price or less, I was charged $7. That's the price of their breakfast special which is pancakes or French toast, eggs, bacon, and a coffee/juice. I got half of what's in that special, yet I was charged for the price of it. I didn't even order that special in the first place. I'm not a confrontational person so I didn't say anything. The line on the weekend was more than worth it! Great local bagel place with lots and lots of options. I was able to try the Beckster, (roast beef with mozz), on an everything egg bagel, seafood salad on pumpernickel and an everything egg bagel with strawberry cream cheese. All really, really delicious. The spreads are tasty, the sandwiches are tasty and the seafood salad was fresh and not too much mayo. They even messed up our order a little bit, but the cashier was super helpful in double checking and they got us the remainder of our order quickly and were super nice about it. Town Bagel is a Long Island institution and for good reason. I literally get a bagel here every time I'm in the area, even if it's for a day. I personally believe it has THE BEST bagels in town with consistently solid service. The bagels are made fresh everyday and you can taste the difference. If you've never had a proper LI bagel before, try it untoasted first to get the proper fluffy + chewy bagel experience. The selection is also superb. They have whole wheat/whole grain bagels that genuinely taste good (crazy!) and with different flavors (ie everything whole grain). I like getting plain cream cheese, but they also have veggie, scallion, etc. They do a generous schmear, as a proper bagel place should. There's also egg sandwiches (on bagels, doi) and eggs (omelettes are avg) and other yummy deli things, all solid options. While I tend to get food to go there's plenty of seating, but nothing fancy. The line can get long, but they get your order down and done in like minutes. It's impressive. They've always gotten my order right and the way I wanted it. The hours are also great. This place is a classic for me and I regularly come here for morning bagels when I am home. The bagels are always fresh. I usually get them toasted because I like the crunch and the warmth but untoasted bagels are also good and super fluffy! I usually go for the whole grain bagel with veggie cream cheese. The egg onion bagel is also a favorite, but they have a large variety of bagels so there are a ton to try. I have been going to this bagel store basically my who life. I have lived in Melville since 1983 and this has always been our go to. I went for lunch today and got a dan the man aka blt. I have had this many times and every time the sandwich is huge with lots of bacon lettuce and Tomato. Today's sandwich is nothing describe above. There is minimal to no bacon lettuce or tomato. Every time I buy food from here to take home at least one item is spoiled. Last week it was the 1 lb of cole slaw, this week it was 1/2 lb of chicken salad. Town Bagel truly has the best bagel on long island. The line was out the door when we went for brunch around 11 on a Tuesday morning. Don't be discouraged, it moves relatively quickly. The portion of the nova was a bit less than I had originally expected, but the thin slices were melt in your mouth good. And, with this order being below $8, you really can't go wrong! One misgiving: the sandwich was loaded with lettuce (first time I've seen that), possibly at the expense of other ingredients, because the lox was a bit skimpy. And hey! They have about 30 toppings, and they all come with the salad for no additional charge. I've never seen so many options come with a salad, which is actually reasonably priced.
