Town Bagel received an accolade at this year's NYC Bagel Fest 2026! So I definitely wanted to get it fresh from the source. We tried two bagel spots on the same morning: Town Bagel vs Gold & Meyers. G&M was by far the superior bagel in terms of density, fluff. It was soft in the bite and just tasted much better. TB's bagel was drier and flatter. The iced coffee tasted SO bad. Plenty of seating. Can't go wrong at Town Bagel. When I'm in town (no pun intended), it is my favorite. This visit, I had baked salmon salad on a multigrain everything bagel. Perfection. The baked salmon salad was right on point, and the bagel rivals the best I've had. I also like that they have a separate everything with salt because I personally do not care for salt on my everything. Avoid Victor. If you are next in line and Victor is up next to assist you, ask for someone different. Look at his shirt, if the name says Victor - next. The food here is great and everyone else I have encountered is fantastic. But Victor is so so unpleasant, I get triggered when I go here. I had higher hopes for Town Bagel tbh. It was fine. Basic. Nothing to write home about. I had a sunflower flagel with lox/scallion cream cheese, sliced nova, onion, tomato, and capers. It was fine. I asked for extra cream cheese like 5x but I don't think they understand the meaning of extra. The sandwich itself was fine, service was painfully slow. I also tried their whitefish salad which was okay. The best thing was their macaroni salad. As for the actual bagels, they were very...dry. Not sure why but something was very off with the texture. While in Plainview visiting a friend, my wife brought home bagels from Town Bagel. I'm glad she did. Sadly, I have not found a Connecticut bagel that is as good. The bagels were soft and delicious. My favorite was the everything egg. They include salt as one of the toppings which not all bagel places do. When she bought the dozen, she was offered a free cream, cheese or six bagels free. We went with the six bagels. Looking forward to her next trip into Plainview. Hopefully she will have time to get more bagels. read more

The bagels and food here is great. But they have a worker, I believe his name is Victor, and he is extremely rude. He looks at you condescendingly, if you ask him a question he gives you a blank stare or ignores you or walks away and he just leaves your food on the counter instead of handing it to you. A bagel shop is a place people usually go to in the morning, so it is quite unpleasant to deal with someone like him early in the day. Very poor customer service. read more

I love when a business does things right especially during a pandemic. I found out about Town Bagel through a Facebook group and was very happy with my experience. They are selling essential items such as toilet paper, paper towels and wipes at cost while most other places are inflating prices. I purchased some of these essentials along with some of their normal staples. I bought a fabulous huge Linzer Tart which was very good. I bought a 1/2 of their veggie tuna and a bunch of bagels which were all great. They have curbside pick up and it is very well run. You pull into a numbered spot and they bring the food out to you. What more can you ask for? The food is very good, they have curbside delivery and they help locals get the supplies they need. I will definitely be back. Keep up the good work! read more

Went in on a Friday afternoon around 3:00 pm. There were three guys standing around together behind the counter trying to make small talk with a young woman also working there, totally ignoring the customers waiting. One other guy with a hat sweeping the floor. A long time goes by and one of the four finally takes my order, puts it on the counter, says the guy with hat (I suppose the one sweeping the floor) will help me. He then walks away and starts BS'ing with girl and the other guys again. I stand there for another 10 minutes and finally ask the guy who put my order together "is this my order?". He replies "yes". I tell him how would I know, I also need coffee and someone to ring up the order. He looks annoyed" finally finishes my order (after my prompting) and goes back to BS'ing with the group again. I have always had great service at the Bellmore Town Bagel. Plainview has no one to supervise the employees. They get paid whether they stand around and work or BS, so without any supervision they opt to do the latter. I will stick to the Bellmore location going forward. It is a shame, because I get my allergy shots near the Plainview location every week. read more

I chose an Everything Bagel with Cream Cheese, Tomatoes and Nova Lox with a large Coffee. It set me back about $14 bucks, the norm on Long Island. The Bagel was a good one, not as much malty softness that I prefer inside, but a fresh and flavorful bagel. The small side of Potato Salad was tasty. The Coffee was very good. We were in the area and asked a local where to get brunch. We were informed of this place and found it easily. The parking lot was a free for all and not fun on a Saturday at 11:30am. We knew right away by the amount of people going inside, that there would be a line. There were quite a few tables, which was nice to see in a bagel place. They were mostly full and there was someone walking around cleaning them off. One of us sat at the table while the others waited on the long line. Being on the line allowed us to look at the food in the cases and the menus on the walls. The bagels were all the way up front but I could see that they were being refilled with fresh bagels. All of the usual kinds and then some. The line moved quickly and when we got up to the front, we told the young man that it was our first visit and he was very patient and accommodating. We ordered- Egg whites with grilled chicken on a cinnamon raisin bagel. A rainbow bagel with a half pound of egg salad on the side and grabbed some fresh cut strawberries out of the refrigerator case. To stay. The bagel sandwich came with a fountain drink. (Iced coffee black). It was 90 degrees outside and we were comfortable inside. The egg white/chicken sandwich was good. The rainbow bagel was still warm and had a chewy outside texture with a soft inside. It was also good. The egg salad was not my favorite. It was sliced egg, not minced like I'm used to and had way too much cheap tasteless mayo. I had to add salt and pepper to try and save it. The strawberries were fresh and gobbled up. The coffee was awesome, strong flavor and not watered down at all. Someone came to the table to take the used tray and then he emptied the huge garbage pail. He was also kind. I have found that Town Bagel offers the crunchiest and fresh bagels of the four. NOT too bready or heavy at all. Never got a hot or warm bagel at Bagel Boss. Don't get me wrong!
